Colac Bay Tavern is an easy stroll from the Apartment & is famed for its Blue Cod & Pub Fare.
The Aparima Restaurant and Bar is also recommended. Riverton dining options of note are The Beachhouse & Jacob's River Bakehouse receives rave reviews for takeout and in house.
Taramea Bay Store has "the best" Blue Cod in town by a country mile - enjoy overlooking the view offered at Howells Point Reserve.

The Deacon's Room is a small private room annexed to the Te Anau Lodge, a former convent that was relocated and converted into a bed and breakfast in spectacular Fiordland. The room offers a simple yet cozy budget accommodation for the solo traveler.

Guests in the Deacon's Room have full access to the grounds and ammenities of Te Anau Lodge, including complimentary snacks and beverages in the library lounge and a complimentary breakfast served each morning in the chapel.

The space
The Deacon's Room is a small room annexed to the Te Anau Lodge, which is a former convent originally built in 1936. The Deacon's Room has its own private external entrance. In addition to a single bed, the room has its own ensuite bathroom, ideal for the solo traveler.

Guest access
In addition to the Deacon's Room itself, guests have access to the menagerie-like gardens and other outdoor amenities on the Te Anau Lodge property. Breakfast is provided each morning in the lodge chapel, and guests are welcome to visit the lodge library to relax and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks.

During your stay
The Deacon's Room is managed as part of the Te Anau Lodge, with a reception in the lodge that is generally open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. If any questions or concerns arise during a stay, lodge staff can be reached by phone or met with in person for assistance.

The small town of Te Anau serves as an excellent starting point for adventures and excursions into the world-famous Fiordland National Park. We are happy to provide information, recommendations, and bookings for activities of all sorts, from marvelous flights and cruises to dinner reservations at the finest restaurants in town. Our Spacious apartment (on the ground floor of our home) has two bedrooms - one with a double bed the other a double and single. The bathroom is an en-suite off one of the bedrooms.
There is off street parking, a full kitchen, living area with Television (Freeview channels) and free WIFI. We are only a 5 minute walk to the many restaurants, shops and our beautiful lake. Our Apartment has a heater that heats the area up in no time and is operated on a timer for 3hrs at a time.

The space
What's unique about our apartment is it's spaciousness in both the living area and the bedrooms. It is comfortable, warm and quiet with little to no road noise from the street.
We do live upstairs however with the associated 'noise' of people moving around above, which we try to mindful about.

Guest access
Guest parking is available off the street in the car parking area of our driveway. Please keep the driveway in front of the garage free for our access. The apartment door opens off the Guest carpark area and generally the apartment door will be left unlocked for Guest arrival with a key on the table for lockup.
