This recently renovated (2017) and elegant apartment is located in the heart of Uzés, on the Place aux Herbes. The 16th century building was originally built for a prominent family. The staircase is unique in Uzés and makes a lovely entrance to the apartment on the first floor. Inside, the high provençal style ceilings and stunning fireplace mantels set the mood along with the stone floors, tall windows and beautiful decoration. Looking out on the lively square from the living room windows, one can only imagine the history of this enchanting place.
The bedrooms are located in the back of the apartment, on a calm pedestrian street, assuring a good night's rest. Each bedroom has plenty of storage space, comfortable bedding, ensuite bathrooms and blackout curtains.
The apartment has been thoughtfully renovated with all the modern conveniences in order to make your stay luxurious and comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bathrooms are modern and the bedrooms furnished with comfortable beds and pretty antiques. - "My husband and I spent a week at this beautiful property. It is right in the square of Place aux Herbes. The pictures online are 100% accurate. This place is fantastic. The location is perfect. We stayed the end of January into February. The weather was perfection; sunny and in the 60’s. We were able to participate in the Wednesday and Saturday market- which is just a treat. Be sure to book accordingly. The apartment is charming. Dominique has provided every amenity you could possibly need. The kitchen is stocked with all the basics. The open kitchen/living room and dining room is light and airy. The beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are spacious. This was such a perfect home away from home. I didn’t want to leave and am plotting my return. The apartment is beautifully decorated. Dominique has a book documented the renovations of the apartment and you can see all the effort that went into the property. Dominique was very responsive at every step of our visit. She is a great host. She left a bottle of wine and espresso- she doesn’t know it but she couldn’t have offered a better host gift! We did get a rental car so we could drive to other locations. You could also take the bus. We just didn’t want to be on anyone’s schedule so we opted for the rental. A car park is very nearby and very reasonable rates. We spent a month in Europe- Uzès and this apartment is our favorite place. I hope to return and will definitely do a month here next time."

The apartment is on the first floor of an 18th century town house in a tranquil pedestrian street in the historic centre of Uzès, away from the crowds yet just a minute’s walk from the busy and popular Place aux Herbes - the best of both worlds. White wooden beams and walls, limed wooden and tiled terracotta floors provide a simple backdrop for colourful textiles. A large, light and well-equipped open-plan kitchen and dining area looks on to the street, and opens through to the comfortable sitting room with huge period stone fireplace. This room provides a welcome retreat from the sun in summer.

A small and sunny glazed conservatory area with table and chairs opening on to a balcony area is perfect for cooler days and leads up two or three steps to a large sunny terrace (much sought-after in the centre of Uzès) surrounded by trees, rooftops and with glimpses of the countryside beyond.

The master bedroom has a double bed, while a second, smaller bedroom, the other side of the little salon, has twin beds. There is a shower room with WC, and second WC with basin.

The apartment provides many attractive spots to sit and read, eat, relax at different times of the year. Listen to the nightingale on an early May morning, watch the house martens swoop round late evening from the terrace in summer. If lucky, you might see a hoopoe.

We chose this place because it was close to town but had a pool (a rare combination). The pool was fantastic and we used it almost every day. The photos are accurate - the space is small, but it is very cleverly designed and comfortable. We didn't feel cramped. Our daughter loved having her own room, and they even left some toys and books for her. The kitchen is well stocked and we had every thing we needed. - "The historic village of Uzès has many beautiful things to see. Cécile’s apartment on Boulevard Gambetta is one of them. We have been in dozens of French rental accommodations over the last ten years and very rarely do we say, “When we come back we are staying here”. The apartment is perfectly located near the center of Uzès, Le Place des Herbes, a great boulangerie is right across the street and there was easy access to everything we needed for our two week stay. The apartment itself is the best equipped we have ever seen. Not just the modern kitchen, which had everything, but every little amenity a couple would need was there. Lots of room to move around in, too. A big living area, good-sized bedroom and bed with a walk-in closet, enclosed veranda off of the bedroom and, importantly, lots of good lighting. My wife especially appreciated the excellent lighting in the bathroom for applying make-up. Cécile was the most attentive hostess and helped us with whatever we needed. Thank you, Cécile, for a very comfortable stay. Uzès is a charming village. Nice people, lots of fun places to eat and a vibrant town center, Place des Herbes, which has the best market day of any French village we’ve visited. The apartment is located in the heart of the historic center of Uzès, on the first floor of a 16th century building, on the Place aux Herbes. The high French ceilings, the travertine floors, partially in Montpellier bars, the special equipment, the large bedrooms and bathroom + separate toilet, will ensure you a pleasant and unforgettable stay. The apartment has been fully restored and furnished with great taste in 2020/2021 and it has kept its authentic character, combining contemporary aspects and comfort with the charm of yesteryear. The living room as well as two of the three bedrooms with its high windows are overlooking the Place aux Herbes, the third room is orientated toward the cortyard. From the kitchen you can access to a small patio, perfect for having breakfast or a drink in the open air. The apartment is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, dryer and all the required appliances. Two bedrooms are equipped with Air-Conditionning. - "We did not want to leave this beautiful home directly on the market square. Huge windows to let in the magical light and all the amenities you could wish for. What is shown in the photos is correct but walking into the property is even better. The remodel done a few years ago maintained the integrity of the very old building but also added modern touches. The very private outside courtyard connected to the kitchen was our favorite spot. I would highly recommend this home!! "
