It was "clean" at first glance, but it smelled soooo stuffy, moldy, and like cheap old soap. (Think of the clearance body soap section at a Ross or TJ Maxx). We turned on the air and it didn't help, the air felt wet. A sweaty sock was the actual feel of the place. The shower curtain (which wasn't even a curtain, just a liner) had mold at the top and bottom. There were used bars of soap in the shower and nearly empty and used bottles of products, full of crusties everywhere in the bathroom aside from crumbs and hairs inside the cabinets. Doors and walls were filthy, there was a random plate sized hole in the wall of the kitchen. Floorboard was taped to the ground with clear tape. Behind beds were full of dust and crumbs, the cleaning they did was very superficial. You could tell they haven't deep cleaned or moved furniture in awhile. Ceiling panels were stained and some had holes as well. Left this place and everything we owned smelled like the musty sock. I am usually not one to complain, but this place really kind of grossed me out. The owner was nice and asked me to leave a 5 star review, but I can't go to sleep at night knowing I wasn't honest about this place. Location is good, neighborhood is quiet and clean, but this place needs some serious work. "

- "The place was very clean i was so suprised about how amazingly clean and tidy it was. a steller experience for a first time renter. Smelled a bit like strawberries. Would stay again if Finances allow me to do so." - "The host was very friendly and helpful. For three of the four nights we had the shared bathroom and kitchen to ourselves because the other two units were unoccupied, which made a big difference. Hicksville lacks charm and interest, but the location is easily accessible and there are some pretty good takeout restaurants nearby."

- "This property is centrally located on Long Island, which is what we were looking for. Easy to get to all highways. Minutes from the train station. Perfect for business trips. Plenty of restaurants in the area, and on the corner is a place with good pizza for take out, but the staff there is blah. Anyway, the beds at this property are comfy. Loft bedroom is quiet, and has a kick @$$ AC vent to cool the room down quickly. Rocky (the host with the most) was the best. Available 24/7. Oh, be sure to visit the Milleridge Inn and see the peacocks. So many of them, and so beautiful. My Mom and sisters waitressed there in the 70s, and it has not changed too much. Enjoy!"
