For excursions or small errands, there are bicycles available that you can use to discover the nice and green region. A large dining table was great for sitting down for meals and playing games but it would be good if there was a couch to sit on to relax. We rent our centrally located, cozy cottage in Sweden Witten-Bommern one bedroom 3 (-4), small kitchen bedroom and bathroom / hallway. It is located in the idyllic garden of an old villa with a separate entrance. Covered sun terrace and garden sharing

Ideally located cottage for 3 (-4) people, in an idyllic location with a large garden and some animals (2 rabbits, cats, some chickens and a rooster in the immediate vicinity -> Oropax recommended for sensitive sleepers :-), pets (dogs because keep the pets in the garden on a leash, sufficient outlet in the area).

Nevertheless, only 1.5 km from the center of Witten / train station with very good access to other towns to enjoy culture and the Ruhr area. Just 150 meters from the Ruhr valley bicycle path and about 6km from Kemnader reservoir, directly at the nature reserve and near the town of Bochum Muttental with its pubs (Bermuda Triangle), Art and Culture (Schauspielhaus). The ideal starting point for exploring the Ruhr Tripps or just spend a few quiet days of rest.

Within walking distance are post office, pharmacy, bakery, bank, supermarket, flower shop and several restaurants, including a pizzeria. The bus stop is within walking distance in 2 minutes.

The house is from the 19th century and the apartments above were bombed in WW2, except this apartment, that is why it still has 4.3 meter high ceilings and these beautiful tiles.

The cozy room is the perfect retreat for 1-2 people. Tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay, the room invites you to relax or work.

The box spring bed has a topper made of camel fur; it keeps you warm in winter and cool in summer. The mattress on the right-hand side is firm, the mattress on the left-hand side is medium-firm.

The natural light coming in through the large windows creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

A cosy room of the size of 16 qms with a 120 cm bed, a little table, wardrobe, shelf, easychair and a Bechstein piano situated i a little street in the center of Witten, which is quite quiet.
Very close to my flat is a bakery with a lovely Breakfast-Cafe, which opens at 5.30 am. on working days and at 7 on Sat/Sundays.

The space
You can leave your bicycle in a lockable bike-shed.
If you´ve got a car, you can use a resident´s parking area for 1,50 € per day.
From my flat it´s a walk of 15 min. or 10 min. per bus to the main station.
It´s a three minutes walk to the bus and tramstop "Marienhospital" From there it´s 7 minutes to the University of Witten an 24 m. to Uni Bochum and 41 min. to Uni Dortmund. From Witten Mainstation you can reach Bochum (10 min.) Dortmund (16) Essen (26) Wuppertal (37), Hagen (37) and Düsseldorf (1 h)by train.There is also a big supermarket, which closes at 10 pm from monday to saturday.

The bedroom is primarily equipped with a 160cm wide bed and a moderately high quality mattress. I also have them in my bed and find it mega comfortable! It has the property of being agile and on the other hand to be harder - so for longer stays you are welcome to experiment!
The next highlight is probably the 55" Smart TV, which is also stocked with some "To the green whale"streaming services that you are welcome to use🐳. Otherwise, there are the public service channels via DVB-T.

Unfortunately, they are artificial only in the bathroom, as it has no sunlight - that's no different 😅☺️
The second room is your supply and study.
Here you will find a small "bistro/breakfast kitchen" that gives everything a cold kitchen needs: refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, egg cooker - hopefully you will get along quite well. ☺️
(Otherwise you just come by in the shared kitchen) So there is no stove or sink. So your dishes will be done by the shared apartment, or in theory you also have the opportunity in the "green whale". This is happy to be shown on site.
So, then there is a desk corner for the work travelers among you (or students..?!) for proper work. Wake up and be hardworking 😋
Last but not least: the bathroom is small and narrow, but is still completely sufficient for the few minutes you are in. We hopefully made it reasonably cozy and a highlight is definitely the rain shower, which is almost standard today, but ours does not drip if you switch to the normal shower head! 😅

The accommodation is located in the heart of Witten in the popular Hohenzollernviertel in Gartenstraße.
The apartment is quietly located and yet very central.
Directly opposite is the newly designed Karl-Marx-Platz.

Witten's main train station is within walking distance.
Neighboring cities such as Bochum, Dortmund, Essen, Wuppertal are quickly accessible.

Public transportation is directly within walking distance a few meters from the house.

The space
When you enter the apartment, you are in the small hallway, from which the three rooms depart.

On the right side is the bathroom with bathtub.

Straight ahead is the fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, all of which can be used free of charge including detergent and dishwasher tabs. Also there is a clothes horse as well as a laundry basket for your use.

On the left side is the living room and bedroom. This has a fold-out bed, which is not visible during the day. The bed can then be folded out of the dresser in the evening. Additionally, a second bed can be used if needed when the apartment is booked for two guests.

In the basement there is a drying room, which can be used.
Bicycles can also be parked in the designated bicycle cellar.

Next to the apartment there is a drying room for laundry in the basement as well as a lockable bicycle cellar for the entire house community.

Other things to note
The bed, as already mentioned, is a 90cm wide fold-out bed. This is designed for one person.
One of the armchairs can be pulled out if necessary and used as a second sleeping option.

You will stay in a cozily furnished attic apartment on the 2nd floor of our artistically designed three-family house, built in 1933!
The apartment is equipped with new and old furniture. All old furniture has been lovingly restored!
In all the rooms you will find small or large works of art that will put a smile on your lips and make your stay in the Good Mood House something special.

The space
The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with dining area.
The living area with sofa bed and workplace connects directly to it in an open living style.
The small shower room with window is also located on this level.
The sleeping area in the pitched roof area can be reached via a room staircase.
This takes some getting used to.
In the bedroom there is a solid wood bed, (1.40 x 2.00), an open barrier element for your clothes as well as various chests of drawers.
All windows have blackout blinds.
By the way, you have a great view of the garden from almost all windows!

Through the common house entrance you will enter your closed apartment on the left side of the top floor through the staircase.
On the right side there is also an apartment.
We ourselves live on the two lower floors (ground floor/2nd floor).

Other things to note
The charm of the old days is reflected in the wooden staircase and in the wooden beam ceilings. This old construction method is what makes our house so full of life, so that there are always a few living noises to be heard!
Upon arrival, you can park in our driveway to unload.
Otherwise, there is free parking on the street.

Welcome to my listed apartment building from 1883. The property combines the charm of historical architecture with modern day comforts. It is located directly at the Witten Annen-Nord train station and offers an ideal connection to Dortmund and the Wittener center. Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. In addition, the Rheinische Donel, a beautiful old railway line, which is now used as a cycling and hiking trail, is very close.

The space
The apartment accommodates two people and has a spacious double bed (180x200 cm). There is a small table with two armchairs where you can work relaxed or enjoy your coffee. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped – you will find everything you need for cooking.
Towels and bed linen are of course prepared for you, so that you feel comfortable from the beginning. If you want to do laundry during your stay, a washing machine is available in the basement.

As it is a non-smoking apartment, of course, the balcony is equipped with ashtrays for smoking breaks.

The location of the apartment is conveniently located:
The highway entrance of the A44 between Bochum and Dortmund is within easy distance (1 km) without seeing or hearing the highway.
Witten Annen Nord train station can be reached on foot in 11 minutes (900 m). From there you can use the S5 via Witten Mitte to Hagen or Dortmund. From Witten Mitte you have connection to Hagen and Bochum-Essen-Duisburg-Düsseldorf.
In the immediate vicinity is a bus stop of line 375 with connection to Witten city center, Wittener Hbf and the UNIVERSITY of Bochum as a terminus. At the station you can use the line 320 with destination via Witten-Innenstadt and Herbede to Sprockhövel. On the route is the Hohenstein and the worth seeing castle Blankenstein, from both places you have a wonderful view of the Ruhr Valley that you can enjoy.

The apartment is available for up to 4 people. In the bedroom there is a 1.60 m wide box spring bed and in the living room a professional sofa bed with metal bed frame and 15 cm high gel mattress (lying area 1.30 m). In addition, the apartment is equipped with cable TV, Wi-Fi and a sound system. In the bedroom, an office desk was provided for light office work. In the kitchen there is a fitted kitchen equipped with stove, oven, fridge-freezer, washing machine and small dishwasher. In addition, you will find a microwave, coffee maker, kettle and for the quick hot cup in between a Senseo Pad machine. In the hallway you will find a storage room where both household items and food can be stored. The apartment is located on the 4th floor and is easily accessible by elevator. There are several steps on the floor, so that a rental to wheelchair users is unfortunately not possible.
