Brynteg is a detached home set in a large garden with great views over farmland. Brynteg was formerly a Blacksmiths. Brynteg is located in Nash, a beautiful, quiet Welsh hamlet of only 4 houses. We are a short driving distance to The Heritage Coastline; 10 minutes from World Atlantic College; and 5 minutes to the coffee culture of our charming market town, Cowbridge, which boasts an array of eateries.
The space
Our generously sized guest room with 1x DOUBLE BED (Airbnb system is showing incorrect bed situation) is light and airy with two windows overlooking fields. We provide all linen, towels and toiletries. There is a wardrobe and chest of drawers for your clothes. And a reclining armchair to relax in; plus two wicker arm chairs to enjoy a coffee in. Tea making facilities are in the room, including a Dulce Gusto coffee machine (pods provided). There is a 80cm/32” TV with remote; a radio. Your PRIVATE bathroom is a few feet away - bath with shower head and an electric shower over the bath. There is a discreet handrail over the Bath. Bath height is 21 inches/53 cms.
Friendly dogs (2 to 3 depending on how big your dogs are and how much space they’d take up in your room) are welcome to stay too as our three Labradors are super friendly. NO CHARGE for dogs.
Breakfast is INCLUDED in our rate.
Guest access
Guests are able to sit in a private area of our garden, which they can have to themselves (see photo). Warm evenings can be enjoyed with a fire pit, if required. Although most guests have joined us on our deck around our other fire pit. We have an outside ‘cooking counter area’ to put your dishes/food on when preparing a BBQ (with a firepit) which people are welcome to use in fine weather.
During your stay
My husband and I spent many years living as ex-pats overseas and are used to meeting interesting people from all over the world so are happy to share a glass of wine in the garden, whilst being mindful of our guests’s privacy.
Other things to note
Our room is £65 per night for a couple. Single occupancy is £55 per night. (I will need to adjust ‘the Airbnb payment system’ if you are a single guest). Two night (plus) occupancy only. We welcome 3 or 4 nights. But we unfortunately don’t do 1 night.
We offer a full Welsh cooked breakfast; with fresh fruit as a starter; and jam or honey to finish however, if guests prefer we can (with prior warning) offer a breakfast entirely designed around your preferred needs. We have recently catered for Vegan and Gluten-free Guests - we are always happy to learn new things😉
1 bedroom, family run self catering barn conversion in the Vale of Glamorgan alongside a small working farm. This was originally the working dairy on the farm.
Windmill Farm Cottages are 18th century barn conversions located in the picturesque Vale of Glamorgan, a short journey from the market town of Cowbridge.
Only 10 minutes from Cowbridge, 15 minutes from Bridgend and Llantrisant, 20 minutes from Cardiff and 30 minutes from Swansea. 10 minutes to either M4 J34 or 35.
The space
We are a family run business who also actively run the farm within which the cottages are situated.
Our cottages were converted in 1999 and each has it's own private access, a living room/kitchen diner, bedroom and bathroom with shower.
The kitchen is kitted with a gas hob, oven and fridge (with freezer compartment).
There is a TV in each cottage with a DVD player available on request.
You will have access to a shared laundry room, with washing machines and a tumble dryer.
We provide bed linen and towels. Upon arrival we make sure you have fresh milk, tea and coffee.
Unfortunately, due to the rural location we are still awaiting a reasonable broadband connection so cannot offer our guests WiFi, however, mobile reception is good on several networks and we can recommend use of mobile broadband (dongle or MiFi) as we use it for our internet connection in the farmhouse.
Dogs are very welcome. We just ask that we are advised how many will be joining you to ensure your cottage is a suitable size. We politely ask that dogs don't go on the beds and that they remain on leads whilst on the property and they are the owner's responsibility.
