The Beach Retreat is set in 11 acres on Jackett Island a private island in Motueka. This one bedroom tiny house has been lovingly placed on the Beach front, you cannot get any closer. You cannot see another house just clear blue skies, sunrise, sunset and of course the birds.
Upon arrival we will take you on the boat ride that only takes a few minutes to cross the Estuary to reach the Island. We take care of your luggage for you.

A wonderful place to rest your head or take a day out of your travels to recharge your batteries. It has all the amenities that you need with power, shower and cooking facilities.

We are only 20 Minutes to the begining of the Abel Tasman Track, Marahau and the famous Katerieri

Rest, relax and restore in this calm and cosy space. This brand new off grid cabin is the perfect peaceful retreat. Allow the rays of the sun and the fireplace to warm you up while you have a cup of tea and read your book. With views into established trees and further down the beautiful Motueka River Valley and surrounding hills. The cabin is run on solar power. The water is heated with a gas califont. The composting toilet and shower is in a small wooden shed 3 meters away from the main cabin.

The space
There is a double bed with a high quality organic latex mattress on top of the loft bed. The loft bed sits 1.7 meters above the ground with no barriers around it. It is accessible via a simple wooden ladder with no handrail.

There is a sofa/day bed underneath the loft bed which can be used as a single bed for a third person. The kitchen, lounge and sleeping are all in the one 20sqm cabin. There is no dining table nor chairs available. There are also no curtains or blinds installed. In summertime the cabin can be hot and needs to be ventilated using the doors.

The shower and composting toilet are in a separate wooden building 3 meters away from the main cabin.

Please note there is no Wi-Fi available and cellphone reception can be patchy at times.

The kitchen has a simple double gas burner, small oven and a 90Ltr fridge. There is no dishwasher, no coffee machine and no freezer.

This is a private off-grid tiny home in a rural country side setting. It is simple and basic. This is NOT a hotel. I make all efforts to provide you with a tidy and hygienic space, however if you have high standards of cleaniness and feel squirmish about bugs, dust and dirt please choose a different accommodation.
