We loved the pool and the view is superb!" - "We had such a relaxing time at Villa Semele, so relaxing that we didn't stray too far from the villa for our entire stay. The views looked amazing online but really do take your breath away, and are a perfect back drop to the wonderful pool which was both large and deep enough to suit two older teens. The villa itself is simple but elegant and has everything you might need, all to a very high standard. It's an easy drive from the airport and although there are plenty of things to do (a car is a must) with only a week's stay we tended to stay poolside and then hit the beach late afternoon. The restaurant fare is quite simple but the village taverna in Nerotrivia was lovely and the staff attentive and friendly. We definitely plan to return and explore the region a little further, and would stay at the villa again in a heartbeat. Truly fabulous!"

- "We can only agree with previous reviews. The property is beautiful, clean, quiet and well maintained. Despite the hot period at the end of July, the lawn and plants were green and full of blossoms. The view in reality is even wider and more idyllic than in the photos. The kids jumped into the pool two or three times per day, explored the property or built up relations to little praying mantises while we adults read books or cooked. After one week Antonis came by to check the quality of the pool. Go to Bakoutis tavern at the nearby village! I think we rarely had such a peaceful and relaxed vacation. Thank you, Antonis, for a wonderful time!"

The property is located 14 km from the port of Gavrio, in the small settlement of Vitali, on the northeastern side of the island. Vitali is well known for its beautiful beach, just 4 km from the house. At the beach, you will find a traditional tavern and an all-day café-bar serving fresh fruit juices, drinks, and light snacks.

Vitali is a traditional village with old farmhouses. Although it comes alive in the summer, when owners return to open up their homes for the holiday season, it remains a peaceful place surrounded by tranquil natural beauty.

The guest house is completely independent from the main house. It includes two 25 sq.m. guest rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, and one small bedroom with bunk beds for two people. Water: Please use water with respect as there are no natural springs on this island and the water supply system as in every island is not very operative. So the Beach house as with most houses in Santorini utilizes high quality filtered rain water. Tap water can be used for washing, bathing, brushing your teeth, washing fruits and vegetables. However, it is advised that you drink bottled mineral water.

- "This apartment was exactly what we had hoped for - 30 seconds walk from a beautiful black beach with lots of open area. The apartment is lovely - very clean and has everything you need down to a few nice touches such as beach toys (bat/ball, some inflatables), towels. There are very good cooking and laundry facilities. The veranda is really nice, allowing us to sit outside in the evening. It has comfy seats and plenty of space for the whole family. The checkin was a delight with Kostas' parents taking us through everything and making sure we have everything we need. Check out was equally as easy with the parents arriving to see that everything was ok and wish us well on our way. We were 5 - 2 adults and 2 teens and a child and all were very comfortable. I really do recommend this place to anyone - couple wanting quiet getaway to family wanting a nice safe place to stay with plenty of restaurants, mini-markets and a fab beach away from the main crowds. We used buses to get around with the nearest stop in Perivolos - about 10 mins walk away Our tip - walk to Perissa if you want more action during the day and then come back to the tranquility of the beach house later."

A 10L container of drinking water was provided and he even gave us a bottle of wine from is own grapes. The stone built studio is cosy, homely and private. We never tired of the view across the valley. There are no shops or tavernas in the village and car hire is recommended. However, we chose not to hire a car just for the couple of days that we stayed there and we didn't find this to be a problem. The roads were reasonably quiet and made for pleasant walking either up to Taverna Nikolas, further up the valley or down to shops and restaurant Enlefko, and others, in Vari on the coast."

Meet the sheltered little patio with its lavenders and the emblematic palm tree, a hospitable spot any time of day. “Skepana” is the word we use in Syros for any part of the house whose orientation keeps it protected from the wind, the rain or the hot sun, and there is no better description for this patio.

On the ground floor you will find the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom and the bedroom with its double bed. A marble table dining suite, a kerosene lamp with a turquoise opal glass and ceramic art objects give this space its distinguishing character.

Climb the wooden ladder in the living room and you will find yourself on a loft, a favourite spot with all of our guests, little or grown-up. The view of the surrounding farm and sounds echoing from the village will make you reluctant to leave this little “nest at the top”.

There is more chance for play in the backyard under the palm tree, where a stone table, scattered logs, various toys and a swing hanging from an inviting olive tree await our little friends.

Our traditional cottage is located in Larniotissa, 4 km from the center of PIgadia and 1 km from Larniotissa Church. It is surrounded by a vivid green forest and has spectacular sea view. Beyond Larniotissa church, following the road ( 1km no asphalt road) you will admire the green forest while reaching our cottage. There you can enjoy the calmness and tranquility of the green environment combined with the blue sea. Is appropriate for outdoor activities such as walking, running and hiking.

It is an old house, renovated with eye for old detail and obviously decorated with love. From the terrace you have a wonderful view at the sea and mountains. The surroundings are very quiet. At night the view of the sky full of stars is amazing, there are few lights nearby. The house has an AC, which is very welcome on hot days. The house stays quite cool due to the very thick walls and small windows, but if it is very hot and stays hot during the night, you will need the AC. The owners are very friendly and will do everything to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Upon arrival there was a bottle of wine and a home baked cake, and later they provided us with olives and olive oil."

The sea is visible but the house is not by the sea. It is a ten minute drive to the beach by car or moped. We recommend that you make a reservation in advance for transport hire, as the offer is limited.

This eco and one of a kind, cottage is a time capsule back in the agricultural Karpathian living. It is suitable for guests who want to have the full experience of the old traditional lifestyle of the island. You will be amazed by the old clay ceiling and the open-air medieval windows.
Our cottage was build in 1900 and renovated in 2019. It is stone-build with wooden ceiling. The interior is traditional Karpathian deco with the traditional Karpathian bedroom ''sofas'' (where there is a double mattress on which two people can sleep). Many elements were kept traditional as they were many years ago.

It is located in a very convenient position 3,5 km from Menetes, 4 km from the town of Karpathos and 2,5 km from the nearest beach Amoopi. It is also 12,5 km from the airport.

The cottage is nicely placed on a hill with amazing view. It is recommended for 2 people.

The cave "Terra Nullius" is located at Plakota,at the western side of Milos-17km away from the port and 11km from the airport- near the old port of Embourios. It is a unique lodge in an area where in the past there were many cottages and rich agricultural and trade activity.The cave itself consists of a spacious area including the double-bed,dining facilities (table for six),sofa-bed and a folding bed(on request),fire-place-all beautifully decorated-and a staircase leading to a fully equipped,brand new large kitchen and bathroom.Among others there are: free wi-fi , tv, air condition, washing machine, hairdryer, iron, essentials ,first-aid kit, parking etc.
Outside the cave you can enjoy the magnificent view of the surrounding hills,the unsurpassed picture of the sea extending in front of you,a magical sunset and the unique experience of the moon rise! Within a distance of 5 km,you can reach several of the best beaches on the island among which Ammoudaraki, Ag.Ioannis, Agathia and Triades.At Empourios,2km away,there is a local tavern with excellent food ,offering the unforgetable experience of dining on the waterfront.You can certainly make your own "discoveries". The cave is accessible by car.Public transport is not available nearby.

- "I struggle a bit to give Terra Nullius five stars, because while it’s a chic, beautifully appointed, uniquely designed house, and Victoria and her daughter Maria are lovely responsive hosts... The drawback to this accommodation and why I would have otherwise given it fewer stars is its location. To be fair, it’s explained up front in the posting that Terra Nullius is located on the west side of the island and that public transport is not available (both true). What is less clear to first-time visitors to Milos is just how far away it really is, and what that will mean for your stay... You cannot walk to or from this property — especially not during summer months. Taxis do not go out there, and driving a 4x4 or a motorbike would be a dusty, Mad Max option probably only safe to undertake during daylight hours... So you’ll need to rent a car, and to do so as an American (Australian or Canadian), you now need an international drivers license according to Greek law. Also, expect a ~30 minute drive from Terra Nullius to Adamas, 35-40 minutes to Plaka, and 45 minutes to Pollonia. The island itself is beautiful and worth exploring to the fullest — also by boat to reach the landmarks that are only accessible by water — so spending an hour or two in the car every day should be expected no matter where you choose to stay. With that said, by about day 2, the drive to and from Terra Nullius twice a day (once to the beach, then home to shower, and back out again for dinner) becomes a nuisance, because it is far from everywhere. Also, be aware the house lacks air conditioning (as most properties in Milos do), and while our hosts provided a fan on request which made the temperature much more comfortable, leaving the windows open to draw in the cooler nighttime air attracted creatures of all shapes and sizes, particularly if we left any reading lights on. So, in a way, Terra Nullius is like “Glamping....”. A really neat and unforgettable experience — especially for my 9 year-old who dubbed Terra Nullius the “Hobbit House” — but probably not suitable for more than a couple nights unless cooking at home in romantic seclusion is what you want. Caveat emptor!"

- "My husband, daughter, and I spent 4 nights in this beautiful small house, built by the owners in the style of traditional Andros dovecotes. In a village rarely frequented by tourists, the Pigeon House is within walking distance or a few minutes’ drive to beautiful, uncrowded beaches and is also next to excellent hiking routes. Chora is also a great place to visit, but we preferred the beaches and local taverna in Stenies. Mary and her husband went out of their way to make our stay extra special. “Petalaki” cosy cottage is located at the top of the strategically situated village of Ano Petali, - right at the center of the long stretch of the island’s main settlements starting from Apollonia, to Ano Petali and Artemonas. It is the ideal spot for those who like to go everywhere by foot, or those who wish to experience the real Sifnos. Accessible only via walking through the traditional white paved footpaths, it is a short stroll from the main town where all restaurants, super markets, bars and cafes are located and a slightly longer walk to Artemonas, one of the prettiest villages of the island.

To reach the house by car, one can get to the free Petali village parking area which is 5 kms from the port, and a 5 minute walk to the cottage.

The cottage

Petalaki is a two bedroom traditional home that can comfortably sleep up to 5 persons. Originally built in 1905, it has thick stone whitewashed walls and wooden beam ceilings. It has just been renovated in April 2017, yet it has kept its traditional personality by retaining the interiors layout of the original island living - where dining areas were kept separate from sleeping and relaxing areas for practical reasons such as dirt and noise minimization.
Providing all modern comforts with a mix of old and new design elements and beautiful calming colors, it is sure to offer its guests a super cozy and inviting living space, spread over two separate buildings:

Building no1: Wooden floors throughout, with one double bedroom, and a two singles bedroom. Spacious living room featuring a sofa with a 1,90 x 90cm bed mattress that can comfortably sleep an extra person. Small office space with free wi-fi. Air conditioning. Veranda with sitting area and an amazing view.

Building no 2: Tiled floors, dining area with dining table and air conditioning. Fully equipped concrete kitchen with refrigerator, small oven and washing machine. Concrete bathroom with shower and hairdryer.

- "Xenia's place was just lovely. Simultaneously simple and luxurious, Xenia's cottage is ideally located just off the beaten path midway between Apollonia and Artemonas (our favorite town!), with beautiful views and a couple of outdoor spaces to enjoy as much as the perfectly furnished inside. Aside from being fully stocked with the regular necessities – fully equipped kitchen, really pretty cups and glasses, plates and paper goods, it has everything you need from sunscreen to maps to local jam and biscuits and honey to reading lights. There's a really decent hair dryer. Xenia has really good taste and doesn't skimp on quality: the cottage retains traditional Sifnian design touches, yet she's freshened it up for today's lifestyle. It's sweet and lovely and thoughtful and tastefully decorated, with welcome surprises like the original wallpaper lining the dining room cupboards. I'd rented the cottage for my sister and me, and when a friend from Athens joined us, it wasn't a problem–there was plenty of room for all of us to have our privacy and to enjoy time together. Xenia is a great communicator, anticipating our needs and responding quickly when anything came up. She arranged a taxi and horse (horse!) to carry our luggage the short walk from the parking lot. She left us maps and a guide to the island, to which I would add our favorite restaurant/taverna was Nero & Alati (water & salt) in Platis Gialos. An unpretentious updated take on a traditional taverna, run by the son of the founder who trained as a chef in London and returned to the island to cook with organic produce from his father's farm (Narlis Farm, one of our favorite days was the cooking class at the farm). A lovely spot for dinner was Mosiac in Artemonas. We also LOVED Lembesis pottery, at the top of Artemonas. There's my long review. I could say more, but basically I just want to go back to Xenias sweet cottage!"

On the North side of Santorini very close of the cosmopolitan Oia and next to the Koloumpo undersea volcano is Siskos Place, a settlement combined of 3 secluded spacious cottages placed in absolute harmony with the environment. The architecture is strictly Cycladic. All premises are exclusively made out of natural local materials and designed with traditional Cycladic bioclimatic principles so as to provide for coolness during summer without the need for artificial means.

The "SiskosPlace" was built in 2000 by Petros Siskos, a civil engineer, and his 2 sons Alexandros and Elias. The Place was for many years a relaxation destination for the family and friends. In 2015 Alexandros decided to settle in Santorini and open SiskosPlace to guests.

The furniture are collected through the years mainly from Santorini or made to order by local technicians. The decoration includes a variety of art pieces, ceramics, paintings, icons and book collections.

The cottage has a kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedroom and two paved courtyards sheltered by pergolas with marble tables, benches, garden chairs and Hammock. It shares a swimming pool and the sun loungers.

The fauna

Fig, prickly pear cactuses, olive, carob, palm, pomegranate trees dominate the landscape.

- "Alex was an amazing host. He was extremely helpful and provided really nice recommendations around the area. We had direct communication with him and his drivers. We were also greeted with really nice wine from a local winery! The location was very secluded yet not a far drive to Oia and Imergolvi. It was very quiet and the perfect spot to watch the sunset. The pool was very nice and the beach was very close. The cabin itself was very charming and it had a cottage feel to it. The only negative is that it did not have AC and it was very hot. Although, we kept all the windows open and had 2 fans which was sufficient for most of our time there."

The house is on one level, tastefully built Cyclades. A family of five with young children or four adults can be accommodated.

It's in the center of Chora Naxos. It is 500 meters from Agios Georgios Beach, 700 meters from Naxos Castle and 900 meters from the harbor. From home, you can walk around the city of Naxos.

The house consists of the main area where there is a sofa that opens and becomes a double bed, a table and a kitchenette with a sink, two small kitchen eyes and a new oven. One bedroom in which there are two single beds in the shape of a corner sofa and a two-seater sofa that can accommodate a young child. Hall where is the washing machine and bathroom. The property consists of two floors and is a total of 65sqm or 710sqft. There is also a living room which has two three-seater sofas - beds and a bathroom. The living room fireplace is not available for use.

On the second floor, there is the bedroom with double bed and a WC with shower. The bedroom has its own balcony and offers unobstructed sea view.

The outdoor areas of the property are on the first level and offer the necessary privacy as the property is extremely close to the coast. There is also an outdoor table with great views of the coast and an outdoor shower on the patio.

Finally, outside the house there is an outdoor parking space for two medium-sized vehicles.

Guests have access to all areas of the house. In the area of the staircase where the first and the second floor of the house are connected, there is a door that leads to a storage area which remains locked (and locked from inside the accommodation) as it is used for storage, personal belongings of the owner, and equipment.

The property is located close to the coast and the beach of Ormos Giannaki (also known as Ormos Kardianis). A few meters from the house you will find one of the most famous and new beach bars of the island which has excellent options for cocktails and meals.

Also, just a few meters away, you will find one of the most famous traditional restaurants of the island.

For your stay we suggest that you have a car which is suitable since the island is large enough and the transportation is not yet developed, to a large extent, to help you get to know the beauties and everything that the Tinian landscape has to offer. The area of the property is not served by the existing bus network of the island.

A bright and roomy cottage, the Olive House, with a private patio and shady terrace, set in a large and peaceful, natural style, garden estate. An easy space in which to live, with comfortable beds, well appointed kitchen and a special atmosphere. The upstairs window provides a perfect view of the sea, sunsets, and Antiparos. In the living room there is a wood burning stove for the colder days of the winter.

Our  houses have quite an open plan interior and are built in three levels: Upstairs, a mezzanine  bedroom with a double bed, on the ground floor the living room and a second room serving as a study or second bedroom and finally, a few steps down, a well appointed kitchen and the bathroom.They are self catering, charming and cozy, with free wifi internet, heating and air-condition and everything else one needs for a comfortable stay. They are surrounded by their own part of the gardens, with nice places to sit, eat, relax.

Upstairs you find the main bedroom with a view of the village of Chora and beautiful sunrises. The room has no door and is directly communicating with the single bedroom and the bathroom. The width of this single bed is slightly smaller than standard as it is a typical Andriotic style bed.
The second standard single bed is separated by a door, but it is not a closed room (see images) and is near the staircase. It has a window/door that takes you to a very sunny terrace from which at night you can observe the stars! The extra bed for the fifth person is a sofa bed that does not need to be opened or closed.

Guest access
It is very important to consider the walking distance from the car to the cottage. 6 to 8 minutes of walk through steps and natural water sources, fountains, cisterns, flowers, and typical Greek stone walls. Due to this walking distance, we suggest not to go with babies or young children unless used to walking in nature. We have a daughter who loves to walk through this natural path but keep in mind that this detail can be an issue for some (please see the pictures which show the promenade with the caption PROMENADE)!
I highly recommend to all people who come to Andros to have a car. There are many rent-a-car in the port of Gavrio, at arrival. Andros is an island to discover, it has amazing beaches and very nice walking paths.
Parking on the road is free of charge.
A person will meet you upon arrival to access the house and explain everything you need.

Other things to note
During certain weeks in the summer months, I will also be staying in a separate guesthouse located on a lower level of the property, completely independent from the space reserved for guests. The garden is not shared and remains exclusively for your use, ensuring your privacy and tranquility.
