Welcome to our completely renovated cottage with 80 feet of lake front that is open year round! Our cottage has so much to offer. Whether you are coming for a romantic get away, a fishing trip or a family vacation, this cottage is your answer! Situated in the quaint town of Mayville in Whitney Bay, this area is known for its abundant fishing, one of the best fishing areas on the lake.

Our cottage has 2 first floor full bedrooms and a fully furnished second floor loft! The master bedroom is on the first floor & has a queen bed (sleeps 2) and the second bedroom is also on the first floor & has 2 sets of bunk beds (sleeps 4) . The beauty here, is our cottage has the potential to sleep 3 additional people upstairs in the loft (no door) with 3 beds. The loft is a very functional room that sleep's additional guest's. So, the cottage sleeps up to 9!

There is a fully functional kitchen and a dinner table that seats 6. A beautiful screened in porch with wicker furniture and an additional dinner table that seats 4 with a picture perfect view of the lake. In addition, there is a deck with a nice seating arrangement and a gas grill equipped with propane that allows for gatherings outside and enjoyment of the nice size yard that leads to a long dock (seasonal). While enjoying the large yard, don’t forget to bring some wood with you and make yourself comfortable on the adirondack chairs that surround our fire ring situated lakeside.

Dogs welcome! If you would like to bring your dog with you, (2 dog max) please let us know what kind of dog(s) you have when making your reservation. We do charge a pet fee (per dog) due to the extra cleaning animals often require. If you are bringing your dog with you, we ask that you follow the rules so we can continue to allow our guest’s to bring their dog with them on vacation. Thank you in advance for your diligence!

You are welcome to tie your boat off on our private dock during your stay as well. (Mid to late May - mid to late October. The water depth is at least 4'-5' high around our dock, so docking your boat will not be a problem. Don’t have your own boat? Not to worry! There are many boat rental options around the lake. Additionally, there is also easy boat launch access just around the corner from our cottage at no charge.

PLEASE NOTE: Check with me the first 2 weeks of May and the first 2 weeks of October if your stay is dependent on the dock being available. The “bookend” months are variable since the installation of our dock is weather dependent. We can’t guarantee that the dock will be in during these months so please check with me prior to making your reservation. Thank you!

A 10 minute drive (5 minute boat ride) to Bemus Point and only a few minutes drive to the Chautauqua Institute. There is little you will be missing during your stay! The Hideaway Cottage is fully equipped with everything you would need to make your vacation memorable. Interior features include one bedroom with a king-size bed; a second bedroom with two-twin beds; and the living room sofa pulls-out to a full size bed. The cottage has one bath with tub/shower. The kitchen has a gas stove, microwave and full size refrigerator. There is a clothes washer & dryer. All linens are included with your rent. There is WIFI and Hulu TV.

There is a huge yard for games and a fire-ring located behind the cottage. The property has a deck, picnic table and detached garage to store your bicycles.

Our Hideaway Cottage is nestled in Lake Erie Wine Country which is the oldest Concord Grape growing region in the world, and there are 21 wineries within 20-miles of the cottage. The Hideaway is equal distance (approximately 40 miles) to two casinos - The Presque Isle Downs & Casino to the west and the Seneca Allegany Casino & Hotel to the east.

Chautauqua Lake is a fisherman's delight with small mouth bass, walleye, and perch to name a few. The lake is fantastic for sailing, water skiing and boats of all shapes and sizes. The Hideaway Cottage is less than 20 yards from the Snug Harbor Marina. And if you like winter sports, the cottage is in close proximity to two ski resorts - Peak'n Peak with its 27 slopes and trails, and Holiday Valley with its 58 slopes and trails. Plus, the area is welcoming to snowmobiliers and cross country skiers.

- "We use to live next door at the Bay Berry Condos . We know the area well! The hosts are the best ! Great location!!!" - "On the whole our stay was great. The Chautauqua Lake area is beautiful, even when it rains. And it rained plenty; 4 days straight. This put a damper to our plans for biking and hiking, but our home away from home did not disappoint. We stayed dry while having great views of the low clouds, rain, the clearings, more rain, repeat, repeat, repeat. Thank goodness for the great internet service. The cottage was very comfortable. And we managed to have a few fires in the fire pit and see a couple spectacular sunsets. The vantage point from the cottage allows quite a panoramic view, both inside and out. This is definitely a wonderful place to get away to for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Much thanks to Greg for being a great host."

Only a one mile level walk to the town of Bemus Point where you will find fine dining, shopping, library, church, golf, tennis, etc. Also ideally located in the middle of the Lake giving easy access North and South and to all the Lake has to offer. Chautauqua's amenities are unmatched and inexhaustible on one vacation.

The cottage has the cozy warm feeling of a lake cottage as the walls are knotty pine yet all the modern conveniences are available. There is a large level yard for games or relaxing and you can make use of the dock for fishing or swimming. Pilings are available for boat docking.

All cooking equipment and utensils are provided for your use in the kitchen. The laundry has a washer and dryer. Each bed room has a double bed. Nestled in the secluded bay of Woodlawn on the North end of the lake is this 5 bedroom, 2 full bath charmer. With 125 ft of lakefrontage, there is plenty of room for the entire family. Lovely screened lakeside porch allow for long evenings in the calming Chautauqua Lake air. Plenty of parking, cable tv and even wireless internet allow you to still be connected to the 'outside' world(that is if you want to be found). Dock is available for renters use. Has a ladder at the end to go down into the water to swim.(approx. 4ft water depth. Can vary depending on climate and weather) Has a sandy bottom.

- "We were at the lake to celebrate my father's 90th birthday and a few special anniversaries. We had 10 people staying very comfortably and there is room for more! The cottage is charming and lovingly maintained. There are lovely dishes in the dining cabinets and ample kitchen supplies-pots, pans, utensils, etc. A nice stereo in the dining room supplied our music and the tv was helpful for our rain day. We enjoyed many games around the table. THe lakeside porch and the lake views are the obvious stars of this property, as well as the quiet, family location. The porch is perfect with rockers and wooden porch furniture, pretty blue cushions and commanding views. We sat there early morning and late into the night, just listening to the water lap the dock and the shore. There is a long dock with a bench at the end for sitting and enjoying the lake. A ladder at the end, where the water is 3 or 4' deep, allows easy entry to the lake. The kids and young adults enjoyed floating in the lake and cooling off in the heat. Although there are some very effective ceiling fans in the living room and lakeside bedrooms, if your forecast is for heat, consider bringing a few of your own with some extension cords. We would most definitely stay here again and all the people who visited us during the week loved the location and the house."

- "Great place to stay with extended family. It was everything we expected it to be. Easily accommodates up to 12 people and is a good base for trips to the surrounding area. Guest house provided a nice, isolated “get-away” space for two teen age ladies. Large living room easily handles all family discussions. Dining room table available for board and card games. Large lawn with fire pit has plenty of space for yard games: volley ball, badminton, ladder golf, corn-hole, etc. Really enjoyed walking and running through the beautiful neighborhoods along the lake. There's plenty of options for 2-4 mile walks that are more than just a 'loop walk'. It was a nice surprise to hear and see the fireworks show from Midway Park on Wednesday night. We did not know that was going to happen. I'm not sure if it happens every year. We will probably return next year if everyone's schedule lines up."
