The property is fully fenced and sits at the end of a private drive on over a half acre of land. This was the gatekeepers house for the original toll bridge which was burned by General Lee's army on their retreat from Gettysburg.

“Ever since I was given the title of Historian from Washington Township, my main focus has been on the Monterey Pass Battlefield. However, Monterey Pass is only a piece of the puzzle when it comes to the larger picture. On Leitersburg Pike, Route 316 West (South Potomac Street in Waynesboro) stood a wooden bridge that spanned the little Antietam Creek in Washington Township, Franklin County just west of Waynesboro was burned by the Confederate rearguard during the Retreat from Gettysburg. Here are two official reports from the Union army that would eventually ford the Antietam Creek to follow be hind the rearguard of the Confederate infantry during their march to Williamsport, Maryland.
“Preparations were immediately made to carry out the above orders. Rations were procured and cooked under the directions of Quartermaster John C. Mullett, and orders were received to form in line at 3 p. m. of the 11th instant. Here, at this time, we joined you brigade for the first time, having been separated, as before mentioned, during our stay at Waynesborough, and marched down the hill on to the road; halted for the other regiments in our brigade to come into line, where we had to wait one full hour before they came into line, a delay, I am happy to say, which the gallant Sixty-eight regiment never caused any officer or brigade while in the service, being always prompt. Centrally located on route 30 West just a mile from Idlewild Park, The Fort, downtown Ligonier shops and restaurants. Linn Run State Park, Laurel Mountain Ski Resort approximately 5 miles. Seven Springs, Hidden Valley and Falling water approximately 30 minutes.

This two-story cozy cottage is literal steps away from Conneaut Lake, the Hotel Conneaut and two beach bars.
Named after the historic (and recently torn down) wooden roller coaster "Blue Streak" built in 1937. This recently renovated home makes the perfect getaway for people looking to spend some time at Conneaut Lake.

Not many houses around have the spacious private backyard and ample parking especially this close to the park, lake and hotel. Great for pets and kids.

Filled with bits of Conneaut history, this beautiful rental sleeps 6 downstairs and includes an enclosed front porch, a full kitchen, a full bathroom with a clawfoot tub, living room complete with pull out couch and smart TV and two cozy bedrooms (master bedroom has smart TV in it.) Walk out the sliding patio door, you'll step onto a spacious deck with access to a grill, concrete patio with a picnic table, a completely fenced in lawn and a large firepit to enjoy on a chilly evening.

Upstairs has either shared or private access with downstairs and only sleeps up to 5, there is a cot to use for living room if needed. It offers a cozy living room, two bedrooms with queen sized beds (master bedroom has smart TV in it), a full bathroom and a kitchenette. There is also a small ground level fenced in private porch on the back of the house for the upstairs. Although your furry friends are welcome downstairs, there is a strict no pet policy upstairs. (It will be closely examined after each stay)

The two garages on the property are for the owners use only and are off limits. We will provide access to the shed where bikes kayaks and outdoor games are stored.

Other things to note
There are 4 adult bikes and 2 kayaks with paddles and life jackets that you will have access to in a locked location to use AT YOUR OWN RISK. They will be inspected after each stay to make sure they are not missing or have any major damage. Helmets are not provided.

**These items are here as a courtesy so if there is a flat tire or something like that please let us know, but do not hold it against us.

The space
Get away to peace and quiet and nature! Welcome to our peaceful home overlooking the Susquehanna River in Lancaster, PA.

The house is only 20 minutes from Lancaster City, yet surrounded by state parks and nature preserves.
Relax and enjoy the view for MILES from the wrap around porch or the balcony. Or go for an adventure and enjoy miles of hiking, explore caves or waterfalls, or head out into the water to explore the islands. Great waters for kayaks, jet skis, boats, wake boards and fishing.
There is public boat ramp access at the marina below and plenty of parking there or at the house for trailers. The Pequea runs along side the property at the base of the hill and the Susquehanna is short walk down to the recreational area.
If you want to just hang out at the house, the place is so comfortable and really has everything. A fire place, fully stocked kitchen, ice dispenser in fridge door, new gas stove with convection oven and air fryer, charcoal and propane grills, grilling supplies, an outdoor fire pit, games, 55 inch OLED screen, soaking tub, 3 queen sized beds, linens, towels. All of the comforts of home.

Please note there are stairs and the bathroom and bedrooms are on the second floor. You WILL be asked to confirm your understanding of this.
