The Head Gardener's Cottage successfully combines the charms of a cottage with loads of style. The property can easily accommodate 8 people and is a lovely venue for a celebration or for family get-togethers.

The house has been decorated using largely Mulberry fabrics and furnishings which creates a sumptuous and cosy feeling. It is one of the most quaint cottages in East Lothian and has plenty of parking, large grounds and is situated next to a walled garden. It also boosts a wonderful 7 person hot tub which is kept at around 40C which is great fun all year round.

This beautiful cottage sleeps 8 people in four interior designed bedrooms.

There are 2 bathrooms, one shower room and one WC. One bathroom is decorated with Bisazza Mosaics and has a large spa bath. Another has a huge slipper bath with pebbles on the floor which is really lovely to walk on. The house is very private with a private entrance surrounded by mature trees. Within this secluded area is outdoor furniture and a hot tub which is really lovely to relax in.

On entering the cottage there is a beautiful handmade wooden kitchen which has under floor heating, a range cooker and seating. The dining room has luxurious silk drapes and comfortably seats 8 people. The sitting room is spacious with comfortable sofas (1 sofa bed), ideal for relaxing. There is a downstairs bedroom with double bed and a downstairs WC with a stone basin.

Upstairs are three bedrooms one king sized and one double each dressed with cushions and throws and two twin bedded rooms.

BASS ROCK AND BELHAVEN BAY PODS
Our two glamping pods are well appointed luxury spaces situated in deliberately slightly wild gardens with stunning views weather permitting. Made in wood, they have wall and underfloor heating ensuring a cosy warm space, a kitchenette, sitting/dining/sleeping areas - and an ensuite shower with flush toilet.

The living areas face out onto open countryside, with fantastic vistas over fields, hills, and the North Sea and Firth of Forth, including Bass Rock and the Isle of May. Outside is a patio area, a chimenea to sit around and keep warm whilst taking in one of the remarkable sunsets, and a BBQ.

THE KENNELS COTTAGE
The mid-Victorian era Kennels were renovated in the early 2020s, making them suitable for both humans and dogs. There are two bedrooms, one ensuite, as well as a kitchen/living room with a wood-burning stove. The underfloor heating keeps them cosy, like the Pods, and there are small garden areas to the front and sides, which were previously outside runs for the dogs. At some point, the Kennels were also a sheep pen - so you would be amongst the first humans ever to occupy this building. EPC rating C.

The Pods and The Kennels Cottage are about 150 metres apart (so a large family would be able to see each other easily, as well as having their own individual spaces), and there are walks into the lovely surrounding countryside immediately from the grounds.

We do have some home produce from our smallholding, which you are welcome to purchase when available - including eggs and chutneys and occasionally in-season vegetables, honey and meat.

- "A lovely cottage, looked after very well by Natasha. It had everything we needed.In a rural location so unable to walk to the shops or pub but we knew that when we booked. We enjoyed watching the tractors racing about every morning, the road is busy at certain times but we didn’t, have any problems getting in or out.The only down side from our perspective was the beds which were too soft for us but were not lumpy or uncomfortable beyond that so maybe not for people who prefer a firmer mattress."

- "We enjoyed our stay here. Good location on a high street and close to beach but it is on a hillside with no parking and we found the steps steep and slippy to the apartment. Twin beds are a little small for adults, everything else we thought spacious and clean. Bracken Lodge is one of two beautifully furnished cottages, decorated in a country style of squishy sofas, period and antique furniture, sumptuous curtains and wool carpets. It is warm and inviting.

Providing centrally heated cosiness, it has an open fire in the sitting room to snuggle in front of. A starter pack of kindling, firelighters and logs can be requested at an additional cost of £30.

Bracken Lodge can accommodate up to four people, plus a baby or toddler in a travel cot. It has two upstairs bedrooms. The large master bedroom has a double bed. The second small bedroom has twin beds.

There are two bathrooms, both contemporary in design. The ground floor shower room has a large walk in shower, with wc and large wash hand basin. The first floor bathroom (beside the bedrooms) has a small bath, suitable only for babies and young children , a wc and small wash hand basin.

The kitchen is small but well equipped. The dining table is set in the south facing window in the sitting room, facing the garden and view beyond. The dining table seats up to 4 people.

A separate utility room has a washing machine.

All the kitchen, sitting room and master bedroom enjoy a bright southerly aspect and have superb views of the surrounding hills.

For the Tiny Little Ones:
For the smallest of our guests, you can request nursery equipment ranging from a travel cot, highchair and a pack which can includes a bottle steriliser, changing mat, socket covers and child friendly crockery and cutlery.

Inside, each cottage has a well stocked toy box with a range of toys for all ages, family board games and books.

The Children’s Garden…..
Outside we have a Children’s Garden, fully enclosed, overlooking the sheep fields, with a separate gate from the main garden area. It is a children’s paradise with a large Cedar wood Skyfort playcentre. It is towering playland that will feel like their own castle!

For the smaller ones we have a large sandpit with lots of toys for digging and building, a toddler slide and swing, ride on toys and a wooden playhouse with kitchen, play food, pots and pans and a picnic bench so they can set up their very own café!


Games Garden…
Our outdoor toy shed is packed with lots of garden games to play on the lawn area.

A welcome basket is provided so that you can enjoy a cup of tea and a few nibbles, before starting to unpack.

The kitchen will be stocked with your basic requirements including tea, coffee, sugar, milk sachets, salt & pepper. There will also be washing up liquid, kitchen spray and a few dishwasher tablets. These are complementary.

The bathrooms have hand soap, toilet roll and complementary towels.

You can arrange a delivery of a supermarket for food and supplies which you can place in advance, so it can delivered after your 4pm arrival time. Alternatively “Click & Collect” is available from Asda which is 5 mins away.

The space
The Old Workshop is just that , and now a lovely cottage for you to enjoy .

We have restored this space into a light and airy but very cosy cottage .
the view from the upper bedroom - to the night sky is amazing .

Two bedrooms are in use , one upstairs with en-suite and Velux windows , ideal for stargazing .

One double bedroom downstairs next to the main bathroom

both bedrooms have their own smart tv .

We are in a countryside location and therefore we ask you to be considerate with electricity usage, lights or heating do not have to be left on unnecessarily.

I am happy to welcome well behaved dogs & children !!

The cottage is on two floors with a staircase that is quite wide and easy to navigate , up to the bedroom , en-suite and wardrobe / storage area .

And fill the large bin with any rubbish , that will be taken away for you .

Please note : there is a low step down into the property from the front door .

When entering the cottage, you will encounter a warm and inviting living room in calming natural tones, with a wood burning stove and direct sea views.

A deceptively spacious beautiful two storey traditional stone cottage fully renovated internally to modern standards, decorated and fitted out to reflect its seaside location. Edinburgh city centre is as little as 20 minutes away by train. Situated on a quiet street in a Conservation Area between the High Street and the seafront, with parking place. The coast to coast John Muir Way is a short distance away. There are a number of famous golf courses, sandy beaches and tourist attractions nearby.

The space
The Wee Hoose is a refurbished period cottage that makes optimum use of the space available. It is an ideal base for a couple or small family. It has a private parking space to the rear. The property has full gas fired central heating with a Hive heating control system, thermostatically controlled radiators and a heated towel rail in the bathroom. There is free wireless broadband internet access.

Accommodation comprises a hall with plenty of space for coats and footwear, off which opens a fully fitted kitchen and a separate Lounge/ Dining area. There is also direct access to the Lounge/Dining area from the Kitchen. The Lounge has a wall mounted Samsung smart TV with Bluetooth sound bar and a leather sofa and armchair that comfortably seat 4. It also has a dining area with an extendable dining table and 4 chairs. There are an additional 2 matching chairs on the first floor. It also has a small piano which guests are welcome to play.

The Kitchen is fitted with twin stainless steel sink, ceramic hob and oven, cooker hood, microwave, fridge/ freezer, washing machine and contains a good supply of crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. Stored for your convenience you will find salt, pepper, sugar, tea, ground coffee, milk, cling film and foil, toilet rolls, and bin liners. Liquid soap, washing up liquid, clothes detergent and fabric conditioner products provided are for sensitive skin. There are also a few recipe books should you tire of eating in the local restaurants and want to sample the wide range of local produce!
There is a large cupboard off the Lounge with an iron, ironing board, clothes drying rack, high chair, vacuum cleaner, etc.

Off the Kitchen to the back of the house is a small paved courtyard which catches the afternoon sun, with two two-seater benches and a lockable shed containing our recycling bins, a bistro set, buckets and spades for the beach, and space for a bicycle, etc. Adjacent to the courtyard is a private parking space for one car (marked “Wee Hoose”) with further free parking available nearby.

Upstairs there are two Bedrooms with coomb ceilings and a Bathroom. Bedroom 1 has a double bed from which you can see the sea view through the front window, plus a Velux roof light, both with blackout blinds, and has a double wardrobe and other storage space. There is a seating area at the front end looking out to the sea, with a bookcase containing books about the sea and the area, children’s books, sheet music, binoculars and a telescope. Bedroom 2 also has a Velux rooflight with blackout blind and two large single beds, storage cupboards and a hanging rail. The beds all have good quality orthopaedic mattresses, and we supply an additional neck support pillow, should you require this. Although we do not supply a travel cot, there is ample space for one in either bedroom. The bathroom has a thermostatic shower over the bath, and a shower screen, a non- slip mat for the bath, a heated towel rail, assorted toiletries and plenty of storage for your own. We supply a large hand towel and a bath towel for each guest.

There are socket outlets with built-in USB charging points in the Lounge and main bedroom. Safety features include a CO alarm in the Kitchen, interlinked heat and smoke detectors, emergency lighting in the stairwell, a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit. Please note that we supply a safety gate rather than a stair gate, for use only across the entrance to the second bedroom. Because of the configuration of the space downstairs, it is easy to shut off access to the foot of the stairs, external doors, and the kitchen, using the internal doors.

Guest access
You will have sole access to the whole house and courtyard. There is level access to the ground floor via the front door, and access to the bedrooms and bathroom is by way of a staircase.

There is a small locked cupboard under the staircase and a linen cupboard in the main bedroom to which guests do not have access.

Other things to note
The back door is used as the main entrance and opens onto a paved sheltered courtyard from which there are four steps up to a shared driveway and a private parking space. The front door opens directly onto the pavement of a quiet street and we recommend that you keep this locked if you have young children.

The space
Kinninghallen is one of two beautifully furnished cottages, decorated in a country style of squishy sofas, period and antique furniture, sumptuous curtains and wool carpets. It is warm and inviting.

Providing centrally heated cosiness, it has an open fire in the sitting room to snuggle in front of. A starter pack of kindling, fire lighters and logs is available on request at an additional cost of £30.

Kinnighallen can accommodate up to five people, plus a baby or toddler in a travel cot. It has two spacious bedrooms upstairs, each with a double bed. The second bedroom also has a separate (single mattress) daybed.

Decorated with sumptuous silk curtains, warm wool carpets, soft cotton bedlinen, cosy blankets and plenty of storage for your holiday wardrobe.

The bathroom is contemporary in design, with a separate small bath (suitable for babies and children) and a large walk-in shower. There you will find complementary towels, hand soap and toilet roll.

The superb kitchen and dining room seats up to 6 people around a farmhouse table and is fully equipped.

Kennels Cottage is a luxury, dog-friendly 2-bedroom cottage on our smallholding in East Lothian. It is situated in rural beauty within easy reach of the seaside town of Dunbar and fabulous beaches. It sleeps upto 4 people. One bedroom is a double and the other can be set up as either a superking bed or 2 single beds - please let us know at booking which you prefer.
Up to 2 dogs welcome.

The Bedroom 2 can be set up as either a King Size bed or as 2 twin/single beds - please let us know which you require when you make your booking. plan to bring your dog.
