- "We are pretty picky about where we stay. We travel alot for work and leisure. We landed early and Vicki accomodated us with no issues. The Guest House is even prettier in person. Radiant heating floors make the property well heated as the weather was quite dreary. We were greeted with a fresh baked chocolate cake. (WoW). Even better the fridge was stocked with the essentials. small jug of milk for tea, butter , etc so we could have tea without rushing out. Bathrroms were well appointed with even toiletries i.e shampoo, conditioner etc. Nice linens on bed. Every detail done. Set on the grounds of a historic church with a lovely horse pasture , plenty of parking and privacy. Vicki checked on us before she was leaving for an away trip. Every thing so perfect. - "We all really enjoyed our stay , the property had a lovely homely feel with lots of lovely art to look at. The house is huge - but it's decor and the feel are comfortable and comforting. The real open fires were very welcome addition during our February stay, and I've honestly never slept so well. There is everything you could need in the kitchen, big fridge freezer, big range cooker, dishwasher - all the pans, crockery etc. There isn't a hairdryer provided, and when we were there the iron didn't work, but those are minor details! The village of Foxton is just 2 miles away, has a shop, and is home to the unique waterways landmark of Foxton Locks, the famous flight of ten locks on the Grand Union Canal which are Grade II listed and over 200 years old. Here you can visit the Boiler House, which is full of history, or take a leisurely boat trip. The market town of Market Harborough is also 2 miles away and has many independent shops, restaurants, bars and cafés to experience and explore. The train from Market Harborough can have you in St Pancras, London, in an hour. There are many National Trust properties within 20 miles including Lyveden, Priest’s House at Easton on the Hill, Ulverscroft Nature Reserve and Stoneywell. - "The accommodation was bright, clean and comfortable.As we were mobile the area was excellent and close to my brother who was the main reason for our visit. It was also a very pleasant area and pretty.It was very well equipped but a lack of tech skill sent me to the information leaflets regularly. An idiots guide would have been a boon and less nerve racking.Susan Howells was most helpful.We spent the days with my brother, but the cottage was a very pleasant base to come back to. The court yard was a bit lacking in colour but very practical and safe and secure. Our dog liked the freedom to prowl round or sun himself in safety.It was an excellent place to stay with lots to see and good walks. For us it was a good centre for visiting and travelling a round. We would highly recommend it.Ps As an arthritic with four metal joints I found the stairs a bit tricky. I cannot remember if that was mentioned in the info on the cottage. Thank you for providing such lovely acommodation."

Welcome to my home. A few years ago it housed cows but now it is converted into a lovely living space for humans! You have a memory foam single bed and exclusive use of bathroom next door. Lovely village setting, loads of private parking outside with CCTV.

The space
Lovely village with thatched cottages and a brook running along the main street. Quiet and peaceful, you wouldn't know you were near the airport! My house has wooden floors and a country feel, it is light and airy with HUGE windows. There is a decent walled garden with pleasant summerhouse which you can use too.

Guest access
You are welcome to use the kitchen and equipment. You can also use the dining and sitting areas, TV and broadband internet access. In fact you can use all the rooms apart from my bed/bath rooms. You are welcome to as much tea/coffee/hot choc as you can take, plus cereals, toast, fruit and yoghurts for breakfast.

During your stay
As there is no public transport in the village, I can take you into Castle Donington (half a mile) at any reasonable time when I'm available. It is perfectly walkable though. The village has a pub and a school but no shop, supermarket is about 3/4 mile away. You are most welcome in my house but I understand if you want to keep to yourself. On the other hand, I'll accompany you to The Jolly Sailor for a quick drink, if you like. Just be comfortable and make yourself at home!

Other things to note
The shower is over the bath - the bath is quite deep and anyone with mobility issues may have difficulty.

The space
My lovely home was a cowshed for over 400 years! Five years ago it was converted into a 3 bedroomed home retaining original beams and brickwork. It is modern and airy but with a country feel. Your bedroom is at least 10 x 10 with storage space. The bathroom has bath with shower and plenty of space to spread out. I provide towels and bedding. Toast/cereal/fruit/yoghurts/juice on offer for breakfast plus as much tea/coffee/hot choc as you can manage all day. Hemington is a rural oasis surrounded by the 21st century - no public transport but everything you could want is a very short drive/walk away.

There is also a single room available if, as a joint booking, you are happy to share the bathroom. I can provide another single bed (ie can sleep a total of four). It is ideal for families therefore.

You are welcome to share all of the house apart from my bedroom and en-suite. Kitchen has everything you could need I think. There is plenty of dining space and roomy sitting/TV area. Also very pleasant summerhouse in walled garden. Your guests are welcome by prior agreement. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A SELF-CONTAINED LETTING ARRANGEMENT - you have a room and your own bathroom in the house I live in and share the downstairs with me, it's a bit like a house-share arrangement.

It's important to note that the cottage's historical charm comes with some accessibility considerations:
Please be aware of the steep, narrow stairs & low, sloped ceilings in some areas of the cottage including the shower with limited height & headroom, showcasing the unique characteristics of an old cottage. The bath is equipped with a detachable shower head, allowing guests the option to use it as a seated shower for added convenience.

Castle Donington is renowned for its friendly and close-knit community, making it a safe and comfortable area for visitors. It’s a perfect location for a relaxing trip away, romantic stays with a loved one, business and leisure breaks, and for walkers, hikers, couples, airport stays and local family visits.

Please note there is no parking at the property itself, however it is only a short walk to available free parking. There are 2 free car parks and plenty of free on-street parking, all within less than 3 minutes walk to the door.

On event dates, such as the May Day Market, October Annual Wake Fair and Christmas Cheer Fair, car parking is less plentiful and may require a slightly further walk. During these times, the road is sometimes closed for vehicle access and open for pedestrian access only.

Hidden away in the heart of the town, this quirky home makes the ideal stopover for couples or singles. The dedicated workspace and super-fast WiFi makes it ideal for business travellers. Built in 1904 as a church hall, it later became a cobbler's workshop before under-going a conversion into a fabulous open-plan, one-bedroomed, detached home, set in it's own wrap-around, private courtyard garden.

The space
The interior of Cobbler’s Cottage is light, airy and open plan, with the kitchen, dining area and lounge having a pleasing flow. From the lounge, French windows open out onto the sunny courtyard garden and seating areas (weather permitting!) There is a contemporary shower room on the ground floor, featuring a storage cabinet with integrated washbasin and wc, plus a wall-mounted towel rail/radiator. The kitchen has an eye-level, electric double oven/microwave combi, an induction hob and air fryer and is well stocked with everything you will need for your stay. The mezzanine bedroom has a double bed and storage space dedicated to guests.

We have recently installed a wood burning stove to keep us cosy during the winter months. It would be fair to assume that that any visitors in the summer should not require to light it.
If you are a winter visitor and wish to light it, there are starter sticks and fire lighters in the purdonium, with a basket of logs alongside. These are free for you to use but for any further wood requirements we ask that you supply them yourselves. Homebase just down the road and local garages keep ample supplies throughout the winter.
On leaving, please clean out the stove, emptying all cold ash into the can which is found by the bins at the side of the house.

The Tool Shed is a self contained one bedroom cottage, situated on a working farm near Lutterworth. Open plan living downstairs, with everything you could need. Rose Cottage is our 1680’s cottage set in the heart of the the Castle Donington conservation area. Easily accessible from from the M1, M/A42, or A50, and close by to East Midlands Airport and Donington Park race track. We provide fresh linen for the beds and bath towels to make your stay comfortable.

Brandybuck cottage has been decorated using an arts and crafts inspired theme, where the walls feature William Morris wallpaper, which is printed locally in Loughborough, an abundance of interesting art prints and quirky locally sourced items.

Please note we DO NOT host stag or hen parties. The cottage is based in a very peaceful residential area, so noise must be kept to a minimum after 11pm to be respectful of our neighbours.
We do encourage guests to use the separate outhouse away from the cottage if they are having a later evening.

Guest access
Guests can enjoy access to the whole cottage, the outhouse, the terrace and secret garden and the private driveway.

Other things to note
Mountsorrel is a fantastic location with great transport links to both Leicester, Loughborough and Nottingham. With plenty of local pubs, canals, country walks, family farm, shops, cafes and even a Michelin Starred Restaurant called Johns House, all within a few minute’s walk from the Cottage, you wont be short of activities to keep you entertained on your stay.

The ultimate small scale, self-contained, tiny romantic retreat.
The Old Mill has been completely restored, exactly to its original design. Upstairs , a King Size 'Bateau Lit' , shower room with loo and wash basin. Broad floor boards with rugs, two small windows and hand made wooden shutters.
Downstairs is a large comfortable sofa, a small open plan kitchen with fridge, dish washer and washing machine. A simple two hob, small oven, kettle, toaster & smart TV. Stone flagged floor.

The space
There is a much larger 'cottage' type space accessed via a discreet door downstairs which can be booked separately or together with the Old Mill. Please see my other listing. The two spaces, if taken separately are totally independent one from the other.

A cosy, beautifully finished cottage situated on the green in the centre of the idyllic village of Great Bowden. Perfect for couples or small families, Lily’s Cottage is a peaceful and welcoming home away from home equipped with all you’ll need for a fantastic stay. A stone’s throw from a great coffee shop, deli and two very well-regarded pubs, with beautiful countryside on the doorstep, it is only a few minutes from Market Harborough Station (55 mins from London St Pancras).

The space
Situated on the village green in the sought after South Leicestershire village of Great Bowden close to Market Harborough, Lily’s Cottage has two double bedrooms, a cosy living room, well-equipped kitchen, work station/desk and generous enclosed garden with barbeque facilities. Well-behaved dogs are welcome for a small additional fee.

Other things to note
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk and fresh local eggs are included in the cost of your stay, as are bathrobes and bespoke organic toiletries. A high chair and travel cot (Baby Bjorn) are available on request.

We can provide a breakfast package consisting of fabulous local produce including fresh sourdough, pastries, condiments, bacon and sausages for an additional £20, please let us know if you would like this.

We are happy to accept longer stays of up to a few months. Please get in touch if you would like to book a longer stay even if it appears the dates are not available on the calendar.

"The Parlour" is a 2 bedroomed barn conversion sitting in a recently converted rural complex nestled in 76 acres of open fields and woodland with a 3 acre private fishing lake, right at the Heart of the National Forest. Just a few minutes drive from the historic town of Ashby de la Zouch with lots of boutique shops, bars and restaurants. Adjacent to Hicks lodge Cycle Centre and the many surrounding walks. A beautiful rural escape with everything you need for a truly memorable holiday.

The space
The comfortable interior boasts sumptuous bed linen, comfortable beds and a top quality sofa bed if needed. A family bathroom and separate shower room. Kitchen with dining area for 6, and an outside decking area for Alfresco dining in the summer months. An outdoor firepit/barbecue is provided and the use of our 3 acre lake which is a beautiful place to enjoy private fishing or sun bathing on jetty. The Barn forms part of the North East side of a courtyard that has been converted to 4 holiday lets. Outside there is the option to use your own private hot tub from an additional £120 per stay. This can be booked via the guest guide which you will receive 24hrs after your booking confirmation

Stoop Cottage is full of character, from the roll top bath and walk in shower in the upstairs large family bathroom … You will find Holly the rocking horse on the spacious landing which leads into two large bedrooms, one double and one twin . Other things to note
Please be mindful that two charming dogs call this place home. Parking is conveniently available on Main Street, just outside The Potting Shed. The cottage's entrance, concealed behind double wooden gates, is a gateway to your retreat. We kindly request that you keep these gates closed at all times, as our delightful dogs and ducks often seize opportunities for a leisurely stroll along the street. There is a lovely cockerel called Geoffrey on the land who does a morning call. He is housed at night but just to make you aware. Our house is next door to The Potting Shed, separated by a driveway.

Note that check-in time is set at 4pm, with checkout scheduled for 10am. If you would like to arrive earlier or wish for a later departure, please let us know, and we will make every effort to accommodate your request.

The space
Our charming characterful cottage has been furnished to a very high standard to provide a warm and welcoming relaxing break. Set in a courtyard adjacent to our farmhouse with beautiful gardens, there is plentiful space for you to enjoy with outreaching views over the countryside to the rear.

The accommodation consists of a fully equipped modern kitchen with breakfast bar, cosy living room with wood burning stove, sofa bed, and French doors leading to open paddock, with patio and garden room for alfresco dining.

Upstairs there is one large bedroom with a king-size bed, a separate dressing room and spacious bathroom. complimentary toiletries, towels and luxury linens are supplied.

Ample secure private car parking with room for trailer if applicable. Storage for water sports equipment and cycles if required.

Close to local amenities, walks, cycle routes and a variety of activities to try within a short distance. Melton Mowbray, The Rural Capital of Food & Drink, hosts a number of food festivals throughout the year. Tuesday is market day in Melton, with a weekly Farmer's Market held at the livestock market, and general market in the town centre. We'll be happy to help you discover more of the attractions and activities this area has to offer, just ask.

Our accommodation is offered for adults only. We do not allow pets and we operate a non-smoking policy. Your own transport is essential, as we are not on a bus route.
