- "Getting in and out of the property was very difficult. All the codes for the front door did not work and we were on the phone for an hour trying to get in. We had to go through the rental company as the owner didn’t answer any of our calls or texts. Also, locking the front door was very problematic. None of the shampoo, conditioner, or soap dispensers worked. The sheets were so itchy and horrible that we had to switch from the queen bed to the twin beds. Overall, the beds didn’t feel very clean as there were small black dots on all the sheets. Location was fine, but there are better rentals in the area. "

Perfect Sunsets any time of year —this magical two-bedroom waterfront cottage on bucolic Fort Pond is as close as it gets to perfection. Every room looks out upon the most beautiful waterfront and sunset vistas all year. A designer's home is beautifully decorated with mid-century modern furniture and spectacular landscaping, enhancing the privacy felt on this gem of a property. It features a large living area with ribbon remote control gas fireplace, a dining table, a state-of-the-art kitchen, sofa and a bathroom with a large glass-enclosed rain head shower with access to the outdoor shower from the inside. Ideal for couples, singles, or small families (dogs accepted with a $250 fee, and crated when left alone). Maximum sleeping capacity 4 people. (The sofa should not used for overnight guests and the backs do not go down). The cottage has plenty of outdoor furniture, a table for 8, a gas Weber grill, and stairs to the water—perfect for standup paddleboards or kayaking. The cottage comes with linens, towels, beach towels, a fully equipped kitchen, and many beautiful pieces of vintage table settings and glassware for entertaining. (2) standup paddleboards, (2) Kayaks, and (2) bikes. You will be asked to sign a waiver for the use of the equipment.

The cottage is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each guest. All surfaces are disinfected with Clorox. All white linens are washed in warm water with bleach. All throw pillows and throws are washable and are cleaned between each guest.

$250 per week for cleaning and garbage removal. Excessive garbage will be an additional $75.

- "Our stay at Mae’s house was everything we could have ever wanted. Her home and property are gorgeous! Mae was very responsive and so pleasant to deal with. Everything was perfect and as described! What you see is what you get and so much more! The cottage is quaint and private and is surrounded by the inlet and land preserve so while neighbors are nearby, they are not on top of you. Backyard was relaxing and took advantage of the hammock nestled in between trees. Kayaks were a plus and many launches on the inlet gets you up close to the many birds living around the inlet (not often you are within a few feet of Osprey hunting!). Beach was a short walk away and took advantage on hot days. The house is the prefect location as it is close to many hikes, towns, shops, and vineyards to explore. Never more than a 20 minute drive to exploring the whole region. Mae was such a responsive and lovely host and appreciated her help when needed. Only wish was that the primary bed was a Queen or King size to accommodate two larger people comfortably. Regardless, I hope to be able to come back and rent again! Thanks for a great stay!"
