This property was the location of a sporting camp in years' past and has been completely modernized, making it excellent for a trip to Maine's largest lake without giving up any amenities. This area is known for it's unbeatable landlocked salmon and lake trout fishing. It is impossible to not unwind from the craziness of life while enjoying a cup of coffee on the porch watching the wildlife cruise the river. Within a 25 minute drive you can access a grocery store, hospital, and many dining options. To the north is the gateway to the North Maine Woods. Here moose and deer sightings are very common in the dusk and dawn hours. If you are up for a scenic drive, the Quebec border is less than one hour away. For those looking to enjoy a change of pace and relaxation, this is the spot! Included with any stay is free use of one space at the dock out front of the cabin to use as boat or jet ski storage during your trip. - "Great little house in a perfect location for fun on the lake! We really enjoyed having our coffee by the water every morning and watching the eagles nearby. We rented a boat as well, and docked it right at the house everyday. We spent almost all our time outside hiking and boating, but this was the perfect place to rest each evening. Bed was comfortable, kitchen well appointed, and had everything we needed. Everything is literally brand new and so well done. The owner was so friendly and we really appreciated the hospitality we received!"

Local activities include snowmobiling, hiking, ATV riding, hunting, fishing, skiing (Squaw Mountain is just 15 minutes away), cross country skiing, and so much more! Just a short distance from the house is the mouth of the Moose River, where it flows into Moosehead Lake. - "The location was beautiful, right on the river and beautiful views. Close to trails for ATV. The Rockwood bar and grill fed us two nights and we enjoyed it! The home was cozy and had the essentials. We enjoyed spending time in the downstairs living room. The house could have had a deeper clean (just lots of cob webs and some bugs around lights) I also wish there was less responsibility on the guests. We had to do laundry and take all of our trash. This left us in a rush and waking up early to ensure the laundry was managed. Over all, the views and eagles we saw made it worth it!"
