Beautiful, year round log cabin on the Moose River on Moosehead lake in Rockwood, Maine. Sleeps 8 comfortably. 6 adult maximum. There are 3 bedrooms and a loft. The two bedrooms downstairs have queen size beds. The upstairs bedroom has a two sets of bunk beds, twin over twin and twin over full. All mattresses are new. Loft has a queen size pull out sofa.The cabin is situated approx. 1/4 mile upriver from the mouth of lake. Cell phone and internet available. Great room has cathedral ceilings, large windows, a loft and a pellet stove for chilly evenings. Fully equipped kitchen, tv/vcr/dvd, washer/drier. There is a Webber gas grill and picnic table for cook-outs on the large wrap around deck overlooking the Moose River. A fire pit is in yard. There is a new dock with steps for easier access located on the property. We have a pontoon boat available for rental. Call Charlie for information. 860-268-3996. Some waters are easily accessed by car while others require some hiking and carrying. Among the popular species are bass, perch, trout, salmon, and togue. If this is your first time fishing in the Moosehead area, we recommend the use of a guide. Basic fishing outfits can be purchased from several stores in town. Be sure that you have a license and an up-to-date fishing regulation book. . . Then if you are up for something with more action - Experience whitewater rafting!!Each year thousands of paddlers challenge the whitewater of the Kennebec, Penobscot and Dead Rivers. Hunting Details/ Scenic Flying Experience: The Moosehead Lake region offers many exciting opportunities for hunters of all ages. Our region teems with wildlife and affords hunters a vast amount of terrain in which to spend a few hours, a day or a week. Some popular species of animals to hunt include partridge, rabbit, deer, bear and moose. Each of these has a specific legal hunting season and set of regulations, which can be found at the website for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. If this is your first time to the Moosehead area, we recommend the use of a guide. . . .Since much of the Moosehead Lake shoreline and many sporting camps are not accessible by road, seaplanes get quickly where motor vehicles and boats cannot. Two commercial air services offer sightseeing excursions. A half-hour flight around the lower half of the lake is a good way to appreciate the vastness of both lake and wilderness. Five local clubs, town employees and many volunteers keep these trails in great condition. Whether you want to take just a morning or afternoon trip or spend all day on the trails, your choices are many. Private deep water dock - bring your own boat, or rent one at the local marina, only 1/4 mile away! We now have 2 kayaks for your use, or you can rent canoes, or sign up for a whitewater rafting adventure.

Located in the center of Rockwood, heart of Moosehead Lake, this family home has everything you need for a family vacation or a romantic get-away. Three bedrooms, plus loft, and spacious great room. The private deck overlooks Moose River and deer and moose are common visitors to the property. The GAME ROOM is fully-equipped with a pool table and darts.

Step out the front door to over 100 feet of permanent dock that provides protected deep water space for boats of all sizes. - "Great location! Very quiet place" - "We had a great time at Lawrence's Lakeside Cabins. The Cabin was clean and well stocked with plenty of towels and cooking stuff. There was even a Crock Pot we used one night for tacos! We had a great view from Ripple Cabin, but especially enjoyed sitting on the deck by the lake in the quiet mornings. There is quite a steep hill to get from Ripple cabin to the lake and back, so keep that in mind if that is an issue for you, but there were plenty of lake toys and we used the kayaks several times and swam every day the weather allowed The setting is beautiful, the people are nice and very helpful and we would return!"

- "The cabin is cozy and extremely well equipped. Everything you need and more. The location is the real star. What a view, all those lake toys and evenings by the fire pit." - "Loved our visit!" - "My wife and I wanted to see moose so we drove north out of our base in Bar Harbor and would need a place to stay since moose peeping is best at dusk and we didn’t want to drive back to Bar Harbor at night. Our cabin was exactly as described; clean and freshly remodeled. We weren’t there long so didn’t get to appreciate the lake other than it’s beauty. It’s about 20 minutes from Greenville so you need to plan ahead with your provisions as it’s not convenient to drive back to town. Saw four moose and two black bear while in the area so our goal was accomplished to see moose with the added bear bonus! The road back to the camp is dirt/gravel and currently riddled with potholes. Overall a great place to stay; we just wish we had a couple more days to really enjoy all it had to offer."

Breathtaking views 10' from the lake overlooking Mt. Kineo. This family compound sits on the scenic shore of Moosehead Lake which is one of the largest lakes east of the Mississippi. Sleeps 10 with 2 baths and one shower house and new solar panels as of June 2025 ( just in case you see comments about having to charge with a lot of use. This is no longer the case) Whether you are looking to relax amongst the tall pines or looking for a bit more adventure such as fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, ATV, hiking, biking, watching moose or boating and ice fishing - Moosehead has it all!
Our family compound is off the grid and consists of a main lodge and 3 cabins which were originally built for use as a boys camp in the early 1900's. They have been tastefully updated maintaining the charm of yesterday but included today's modern amenities such as internet. The landscaping and furnishings are magazine worthy.
This is the perfect setting for a family reunion or just a get together with friends.
The cabins are not rented separately so if you were to rent the entire compound would be included in your reservation. The layout consists of a main lodge with a master bedroom (king bed) and second bedroom with bunkbeds, bath, full kitchen and dining room. A second camp with two twin beds and a small kitchen and bath and two other sleeping cabins. One with bunk beds and the other with a queen bed. There is also a new outdoor shower.
There are so many mountains in the Moosehead Lake region, it is difficult to highlight them all. Among the most popular hikes of the Rockwood area are Mount Kineo . When reaching the top a hiker can take in the astounding panoramic views of the distant ranges. There is a pebble beach at the base which offers the perfect setting for a picnic lunch.
For those of you looking to rent a boat there is a marina within 5 miles away where you can rent a boat. A boat can be rented and brought right up to our dock for your stay. Canoe and two kayaks are on site.
Although you feel you are away from it all the town of Greenville Maine is just 20 miles away where you will find a quaint general store, several restaurants and food trucks, tackle shops, boat rental marinas, ice cream shops and an old fashioned candy store, gift shops and a hospital. There is also a convenience store and restaurant just a couple miles away from the lodge.
If you are looking for a mellow, off the grid retreat this is perfect. The main renter must be 25 or older and must be staying at the property. Must be responsible guests who will respect the property and neighbors.

• You will be provided door codes for all cabins and will be able to self check-in upon arrival.

Guest interaction:
• We`re here for you during your stay, but our level of interaction is up to you. We`re only a phone call or message away at all times. You will be able to self check in upon arrival.

Other things to note:
• All cabins are pet-friendly except for Katahdin.
• Bedroom 10 located in `Twilight` is a Loft which requires climbing a ladder to reach.
• November 1: Fire-pits are put away for the season starting in November each year, due to weather.
• May 1: Kayaks, fire-pits, and outdoor furniture are typically available in the spring starting the beginning of May (weather dependent).
• October 1: The dock is available. If weather permits, we will have the dock available sooner.
•Property Caretakers live in an apartment attached to Katahdin. There is one shared wall and one bedroom does look over their deck.
•There is room for two parked cars at the Cabin and additional parking for Katahdin at the bottom of the driveway

Cabin 1, also known as Allies, (on the left in picture) is a cozy, rustic cabin that sits along Moose River in Rockwood Maine, which flows between Brassua Lake and Moosehead Lake and is a popular fishing destination. Step out onto the deck to grill or enjoy the scenery and wildlife. Inside are two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. It is close to the road so expect some traffic noise. If you're bringing your boat, you can tie it up out front. If you don't have a boat, you can still fish right off the dock! If you're bringing snowmobiles, the trail is across the road so you can leave directly from your cabin.

❄️ Ice & Snow: Icy conditions are common in colder months. We do our best to salt and shovel walkways, but some ice may remain. Please use caution when walking outside during these times.

🕸️ Spiders & Webs: In this remote wooded setting, spiders are prevalent. We clear webs before each guest’s arrival, especially around the exterior, but they often rebuild quickly due to the natural environment.
