George River Park is a very private, completely self-contained 1-bedroom unit with a separate entrance, en-suite bathroom and fully-equipped open plan kitchen and living area. It is only 2 km's from the town of St Helen's and on-site parking and NBN wifi is free.

The suite sits on 100 acres of pristine pasture and bushland ready for you to explore. It is bounded by 2.6km of the George River. By day, relax on the completely private sandy beaches and refresh with a cool dip. You may spot a local platypus or hand feed the resident pet kangaroos, emu, white deer and other feathered friends. After dark, grab a torch and explore the property when possums, wallabies and owls are most active.

The George River offers trout, blackfish and bream fishing and you can try your hand at fishing on the property's own private and secluded part of the river.

Explore some of Tasmania’s beautiful East Coast heritage areas such as The Bay of Fires, Wineglass Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula, the East Coast wineries, extensive hiking trails, waterfalls and the world-famous mountain biking tracks around St Helen’s and Derby.

Driveway is very steep so access is troublesome at times - touch base with us to discuss prior to booking as we are having repairs done on this and may impact travellers.

The Bay Shanty is a lovely cottage in the heart of St Helens , gateway to The Bay Of Fires.
You will feel at home in TheShanty perfect for couples, friends or families. Easy access to little bayside beaches and the walking/cycling foreshore track are only metres from the house or alternatively wander into the CBD for dining , groceries and shopping . Fantastic outdoor fish cleaning/bbq area with hot and cold water. Bike washing stand, Lock up storage for bikes, boards and rods.+Netflix etc

The space
The Bay Shanty has two well sized bedrooms both with king size beds and hanging space for clothes . Newly renovated, well appointed kitchen and bathroom, both spotlessly clean . Open plan living area with comfortable leather couches and views over the bay and marina . Conveniently a second toilet and laundry just across the outdoor area. Large lawn area and BBQ perfect for child play or outdoor entertaining.

This cottage is one of the earliest buildings on the east coast of Tasmania, being built in around 1832. Recently restored, The Surveyors Cottage has an instant appeal with its high ceilings and beautiful light from the Georgian windows. The open fire is the star attraction - so warm and welcoming. An intimate space for two people, within easy walking distance of most local eateries & shops. Unlimited wifi if the fire isn’t enough to keep you happy.

The space
The cottage is decorated with antique furniture befitting its time frame, a very comfy sofa and television, but also free WIFI.
The bed is super comfy, we use quality pure cotton linens, wool quilts & pillows, and of course an electric blanket.
There is a wall heater in the bedroom for your sleeping comfort.
The new ensuite is open plan beside the bedroom - please check the photos - if you like privacy in the bathroom this may not be the space for you!
A fridge, microwave, sandwich press and toaster are provided together with a selection of loose leaf teas, and of course a china teapot.
Please enjoy a complimentary gin & tonic on arrival, a selection of condiments, milk and a few snacks also provided.
The main room of the cottage has a gorgeous wood fire (and a wall heater). We supply kindling and fire lighters, plus a basket of wood in the entry.
Also on this property is our other Airbnb ‘Miss Moyes’ - great if you are two couples travelling together.
Guest access
The cottage has a lockable shed if you wish to store bikes etc safely while you are staying. There is a retractable hose near your parking spots if you need to wash down your bikes or car. The property has a gate which can be closed in the evening if desired.

We are within walking distance of St Helens main street with markets, restaurants and shops. However when you want to escape holiday crowds or are done exploring the local farms, our units are quiet and restful with off street car parking, a full kitchen and individual washing facilities.

Please note that when you book for two people, you are booking one bed, if you need a second bed, please book for three people, or you will be charged $50 per person per night for the extra bed.

Please note: Our pricing structure is based on the standard price for one bed being used so it is affordable for everyone. If you need more than one bed you will have to book for all guests and will be charged accordingly. If you only book for two people but more people arrive you will be asked to pay the extra bed fees.
