The Ollie Vee is a very simple and cozy home. I have tried to equip The Ollie Vee with anything you may need. The yard is kept natural to attract the local peacocks and wild turkeys. Remember, this is Florida. You will come across bugs and reptiles.

If you plan to bring a boat on a trailer... be aware there is no turn around at the property. There is plenty of room to park your boat and trailer but you will probably need to back down the street.... a distance of @300 feet.

Welcome to the Bass Capital of the World! On this private "Slice of Paradise" you can enjoy beautiful natural scenery, and observe abundant wildlife, including deer, turkey, squirrels, rabbits, alligators, cranes, bald eagles, hawks, owls, and myriad other birds. Bring your boat and keep at the dock. (Boat ramps nearby to launch your boat.) In addition to your own private bungalow, there are several venues on the private 2+acre property for your use: TV gazebo, fire pit, gas BBQ grill, screened room on dock, 150' open dock on the St. John's River with beautiful sunrise and sunset views. Plenty of room for parking a boat, RV, trailer. No traffic, very private property (separate owner's cabin on property).

A couple of important notes:
This is a very quiet location and NOT a party house.
Due to owner's allergies, and to avoid disturbing bountiful indigenous wildlife, we do not allow pets of any kind. No hunting. The bungalow and property are not baby-proofed. For guest safety, several surveillance cameras discretely monitor exterior premises.

Overall, the tranquil, spring-fed St. John's River flows from the South to North into the Atlantic Ocean (Jacksonville). Our peaceful property is located on a largely undeveloped portion of the St. John's River where the River flows East to West, affording beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and stargazing from our 150' private dock. Nestled between Lake George (second largest lake in Florida) and Little Lake George (and almost surrounded by the Ocala National Forest, the Welaka State Forest, and the Welaka National Fish Hatchery), our "Slice of Paradise" features excellent opportunities for observing wildlife and fishing for bass, trout, catfish, crappie, brim, shrimp, crabs and more!

About a 5 minute boat ride from our dock to the Southeast is Renegades on the River Marina & RV Campground, with a great restaurant, Tiki bar with live music, boat ramp, gas and supplies.

About a 5 minute boat ride from our dock to the Northwest is the inlet of the uniquely scenic, wholly-undeveloped Ocklawaha River, which teems with wildlife.

About a 5 minute drive South from our property is The Oaks Golf Course, an 18-hole golf course for all skill levels (playing 6,051 yards), with clubhouse restaurant, golf cart and equipment rentals. Friendly, open to public, great for a fun, relaxing round!

- "Though the heat was oppressively dangerous, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and the limited time we were able to fish from the dock. Caught mullet (on a worm!), small mouth bass, catfish, and many many bream, from small to larger than hand size. We also had a frequent 3 foot alligator visitor, and a great blue heron who stopped by for some fish three times a day. Very relaxing. Look forward to the visit in October when we'll be able to use our boat."

The staff, Lacy and Paula, were amazing and available at a moments notice, even Lacy brought us fresh caught catfish! We had 2 boats that were a little tricky to tie up but i think he is getting the lifts fixed. The owner is very professional, polite and responded very quickly to all of my questions. Mr. Lacy is the land manager that met me at the house and was a pleasure to meet. Helped us out with anything we needed. We plan on making this an annual thing and maybe invite more family to rent the other unit. For the price, you cant beat it."

Kayaks: 2 kayaks are now available to use at your own risk. Requires electronic signing of liability waiver for all members in group if would like given code for access. Weight limited listed on kayaks, must adhere to. Requires PFD/life jackets to use. We have these PFDs on site: 2 standard adult size, One 30-50 lb child, One 50-90 lb child. No use under 30 lbs, if you need a different size or more than what we have, please bring your own. If you would like to use, please let me know immediately after booking and before arrival to start process.

Tire swing: Use at your own risk. Children must be directly supervised when using. One person at a time (advised limiting to under 150 lbs). No standing, hold on with both hands. Avoid swinging towards tree/twisting rope, may cause injury. We make an effort to secure the swing but cannot guarantee it won’t malfunction or cause injury. Report equipment issues ASAP. Do not use zip line - not set up for use

Motion/audio activated Cameras on site mainly exterior walkways, upper deck, and all cabin views/driveways/lake view. Game room has the only indoor camera on site. These cameras are not actively monitored without incident except for upper deck camera which will only notify if someone is on roof or goes over railing - which is a safety issue. Beautiful family and pet friendly lake house. Recently remodeled 3 bedrooms, 2 & 1/2 baths, with an open concept kitchen. If you are looking for a retreat away from the hustle and bustle, a place where you can swim, play, or fish out of your own dock, have a drink and enjoy the sunset, hear the birds and nature surround you, bring the whole family together, this is the spot for you. The home is in the charming small town called Crescent City, FL, old Florida at its best. Bring or rent a boat and drop it right in your back yard on Stella Lake. Take a stroll through the community on the new blacktop streets and see our tropical plants, fruit trees, and greenhouse, unless you prefer lounging on the community dock or north fishing dock for an evening sunrise or star gazing (see the Space Launches of Cape Canaveral). Bring a pole and use the fish cleaning station for your fresh catch of the day. Evenings you’ll often find a group hanging at the community fire pit on the waterfront between docks or located by the "Fish-path" by site B24 or behind the mailbox areas fence. Don’t be shy, but please no pets at the firepit area at night! Our office is behind the yellow block home opposite the studio on the one-way loop.

For those guests with (non-aggressive) dogs, take your dog to the Crescent City dog park just north of our community for an enjoyable run. Walk across the street to Winn-Dixie, sidewalk into town for good eats 3 Bananas, Chinese, Authentic Mexican, pizza or Hailey's landing on Lake Stella, our sister lake.

Other things to note
Swimming is not recommended in the lake but you can launch a kayak from our beach. No Cable TV, smart TV only. Grill is available at the Fire-pit area. Bench is at the front of the studio and we have items to rent for the beach day, you deserve!

Welcome to The Lake House on Lake Stella in Crescent City, Florida. This is old Florida with moss draped live oak trees and the scent of orange blossoms in the air. Some come here to lose themselves, other to reconnect with nature. This is the place to relax and read a favorite novel or perhaps write one. Or maybe you prefer playing tug-o-war with a large-mouth bass. Feathered friends are sure to drop by, so keep you binoculars handy. Of course, swimming off the dock is also a popular pastime.

The space
The Lake House features a kitchen, dining area, living room and two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have two queen sized beds. There are two bathrooms. The living room has one convertible couch/bed, as well as another standard couch that is comfortable for sleeping. There are sliding glass doors across the living room so you can view of the lake from inside the home or from the porch. Mix up some mint juleps and listen to the crickets and frogs serenade you.
Across the lake is a boat ramp, so bring your boat, canoe or jet skis and tie them up to our private dock.. Across the lake is a paddle boat rental place that also offers glass bottom submarine tours. At night, you can sit around the fire pit and look up at the stars.

Plenty of fish in the 2nd and 3rd largest lakes in Florida, both within 15 minutes of this "Fish camp". Catch Bass, Crappie and Stripers on the regular, in this neck of the woods. Don't fish? Go to a winery, brewery, or an antique shop. There are plenty in the area. Two bedrooms and one bath boast rustic, fish camp style decor with all the comforts of a resort.

The space
If you want to see a bit of Old Florida, this is the place from which to do it. Centrally located to state parks, hiking, and river activities, this place has what attracted the first settlers to Florida years ago. It was also once the home of fruit packing, when Florida citrus was in its prime. Come share a slice of the Cracker lifestyle in Florida's Crescent City, the city on a crest between two lakes.
This is the PERFECT place for guests from outside of the US, who want to experience Florida for its natural beauty and outside of the hustle and bustle of the theme parks. Bring your boat and drop it in nearby, at one of the river marinas. If it's a bass boat, you can even get onto Lake Crescent, using the boat ramp alongside of the dock at the end of our street. Croaker's Hole [a fissure, deep in the river bed] is awesome for catching the BIG ones! Throw your cast net for shrimp on the St. Johns, take a dip in the Springs, or simply enjoy the quiet waters of the Oklawaha. Manatee are plentiful from November through March/April. Come see the "mermaids of the river" in their natural habitat. Plenty of Gators, too!

This lodging is chock full of amenities. If you forget something [consumables], just use ours and pay it forward. All you need is togs and toothbrush. Two bedrooms and one bath with a tub, AND a shower! You will enjoy the peace and quiet beneath the clear, starlit nights. Pour a glass of wine, light a fire in our custom fire pit, and relax or kick back in the hot tub.

Plenty of restaurants in this little town:
3 Bananas on Lake Crescent serves up cold beer and steamed shrimp. Drop your boat in at Renegades on the River in the morning, and enjoy a complete Prime Rib dinner in the evening, on Fri./Sat. nights for about $25. Or have all-you-can-eat fresh catfish at Shrimps-R-Us. They have live music there on Fri./Sat. nights, too! If you like authentic Mexican, the best authentic tacos can be had at Baja Taco, just down the road or Chile Releno at Los Palmeras.
Take your boat out on the river, and make stops for snacks and drinks at several good eats along the east shore.

If you like antiquing, there are several in Palatka worth a look. Wild turkeys and raccoons frequent the vineyards. Black bear sightings are few, but there are plenty of warning signs. The deer come around every so often, though. You might see more on The Oaks Golf Course, approximately 15 min. drive over to Little Lake George area, just west of the house.

Geocache in Ocala National Forest, hike Dunn's Creek Trails, kayak the springs, or go horseback riding in San Mateo. And... if none of this natural beauty appeals to you, it's only about 1 hr. 45 min. to the theme parks of Central Florida, where malls and multi-media outlets are plentiful, along with crowds and other attractions. Ormond Beach is about a 45 min. drive south and east, and St. Augustine, with its history and landmarks is about 45 min. north and east of here. OH, and let's not forget about the Daytona Speedway (plenty of events there outside of race weeks) which is about 45min. to an hour south and east of here!

The Ollie Vee is located on a quiet cul-de-sac of 4 homes. Trees dripping with Spanish moss, wandering wild turkeys, a pair of nearby eagles, and a view of Crescent Lake complete the mood. The Ollie Vee is a very simple and cozy home. I have to tried to equip The Ollie Vee with anything you may need. The yard is kept natural to attract the local peacocks and wild turkeys. Remember, this is Florida. You will come across bugs and reptiles.

If you plan to bring a boat on a trailer... be aware there is no turn around at the property. There is plenty of room to park your boat and trailer but you will probably need to back down the street.... a distance of @300 feet.

The space
Home features 3 bedrooms, 2 with king beds, (1 of the king rooms has a desk in case this is a working vacation for you!) & the 3rd room has 1 queen bed. There are 2 full bathrooms, 2 screened-in porches, (the front porch overlooks a horse farm and the back porch overlooks the canal), a separate back deck area with fire pit, a Boat dock with 1 covered-slip available & enough parking for 3 boats, a large fenced backyard, plenty of on-site parking for vehicles and boat trailers, kitchen & laundry. WIFI is available, Smart TV enabled for streaming.

Pets are welcome with the non-refundable pet-fee but we do request that you keep pets off the furniture.

If you want to prepare & cook meals, we suggest you bring food with you as the nearest grocery store is about 30 mins away. There is a Dollar General nearby that carries some basic groceries to get you by if needed or if you forgot something. There are also several great restaurants near by if you prefer to dine out or order delivery.

A private boat ramp at the end of the street is suitable for boats under 20' or there is a larger boat ramp nearby at Renegades on the River for a small fee.

Stay & enjoy all the local area has to offer, visit Historic St Augustine which is an hour's drive North-east or visit beautiful Deland FL which is an hour in the other direction.

No matter what you choose, you won't be ready to sail away at the end!

This slice of paradise is directly on the St. Johns River in a wide section of the river with incredible views. Two master bedrooms with a comfortable living room and well stocked kitchen. The enclosed back porch has a daybed w/trundle for additional arrangements. Large back deck right on the water that steps down to your own dock to relax and watch the wildlife and, if you want entertainment, this home is just a few docks from Renegades on the River. Restaurants and boat rentals are close by.

The space
You can bring your boat (this is Bass Capital of the World, after all) and dock it at the dock or enjoy fishing right off the dock. You can bring a golf cart to run to Renegades on the River but it is walkable or a very short drive. Please be aware there is a step up to the bedrooms, it is not handicap accessible.

The entire home will be privately enjoyed by renters. Please note the maximum number of guests is 6. There will be additional fees for over 6 people per night.

Other things to note
This is the closest private rental to Renegades on the River. Sit on the deck and listen to the live music! We have a no pets policy. Should you bring a pet, there will be an additional $250 fee. PLEASE NOTE: we do accept certified Service Dogs but not emotional support animals.
