- "My communication with Mrs. Keisha at the beginning was perfectly fine. It was once we both found out that dogs were brought onto the property that it became messy. She told me that the pets were fine and would allow the pets, WITHOUT an extra fee. Then she went back on her word and is now trying to get money she said she would not charge. She wanted free camera's from our co-workers to offset the "pet fee" then said no that is not what we want to do now. I tried to help with removing the dogs, but she worked on the side with my co-workers and that's what was so messy. She'd tell them one thing and tell me another. The neighbors are super nosey and complained about even just a little music and if you have friends come over during the weekend, don't think about it. Neighbors called the police about the music playing and the police came over, they told the team it wasn't that bad. We never received a ticket for any of the calls from neighbors. I've never had a homeowner come check on the home daily, we felt like criminals the entire stay. This has been the worst experience I've had with a VRBO home owner. "

There is spacious parking, a large enclosed 2-car garage, a beautiful front porch and a screened-in back patio, and a gated backyard. He said I should've called him instead of the cops so he could take care of it and that his number was on the fridge. I told him, when you are worried about the safety of your family, you are not going to stop and think, Hmm, let me call the property manager. On a great note, the cops showed up very quickly. We were worried about retaliation so we left. "

In the evening and night the frogs were singing their orchestra, and you wake up with birds singing. If you like this, then this is your place. If you don't like bugs, then this might be challenging. Special Notes:

This property was acquired in 2023 -- we use it as our winter residence and rent it out in the summer. It is a *beautiful* lake home, not a fishing camp! We've already done many upgrades, but long-term we'd like to do more. We're continuing a reduced rate for this summer to give people a chance to use it and to get some feedback. We'd love to hear both what you liked and what you thought could be better, so we have input on what could be adjusted/improved.

Our normal rates are a little higher for Fridays, Saturdays and holidays. There is also a $130 cleaning fee. These charges include applicable State and Parish taxes.

If you bring your boat, there is a boat launch by the Hwy 1200 bridge that is free to use. Please note that Lake Cotile is a reservoir and stumps can be a problem outside of the boat rows (channels). There is a cleared area by the Campground and Recreation Area at the north end of the lake where it is safe to waterski.

Although the Futon indicated for sleeping in the living room is a double bed, we list it as sleeping only one (most couples prefer a queen of king size bed).

- "My husband and I, along with our two teenage daughters and other adult children stayed at this home for 4 nights and 5 days. We did not want to leave! The property is beautiful, peaceful and sooo relaxing. We went to LA so that our 17 yr. old could tour the LSU campus and also attend a concert in Alexandria that weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay. The home is roomy and had everything we needed and then some. Bob, the host of the house was always available to answer all questions immediately or very soon after a text was sent by me. The property manager was helpful and came by to set out the kayaks for the kids to use and also answered any questions we had. ( mostly, how likely is it that we will be swimming with the gators?!) We did not see any btw! :) Our only suggestion is that perhaps some fans and or misters could be placed down on the dock, as it did get very hot when just sitting and fishing off the dock. For those of us not wanting to swim in the water, it would have been a nice attribute to have. We are also near the Azealia Trail and many other hiking trails. If you enjoy fishing feel free bring your boat and go fishing or skiing. We are also close to Johnny Downs sports complex. We are minutes away from Alexandria where there are plenty of restaurants. The apartment is very cozy with an updated modern feel.
