The Neighborhood

What's special about our location is that you are completely secluded on the water yet only a half mile or less from food, shopping, and entertainment. For all your traveling needs, there is a Walmart located only about a half mile away, along with Brookshire's grocery store and multiple dollar stores for groceries, toiletries, etc.

We love to eat here in Natchitoches! You won't go home hungry :) Here you can find down home southern cooking- crawfish, meat pies, red beans and rice, traditional American, Chinese, fast food, delicious Japanese and sushi. Ask us for food recommendations!

The Downtown Historic District is only a few miles away, where you will find historical tours, shopping, and dining on the beautiful Cane River.

Please note that while families are welcome, our home is not baby or child proof. Life vests are not provided but recommended when around or in the water. Please use caution as our home is located on Cane River Lake.

Our cabins are located 10 minutes from downtown Natchitoches, Louisiana on 30 acres of gated property on Bayou Pierre. It is quiet, secluded, and beautiful. Upstairs the cabin has a bedroom with a queen bed, a loft area with two twin bed, and also a living area, kitchen, and bathroom downstairs. Come relax on the back porch on the swing. It is equipped with Cable, WIFI, basic kitchen supplies, bedding, a grill, and more. We have trails to explore and a new floating dock to fish from!

Bringing your boat? There is a public boat launch a quarter of a mile down the road. Take a 30 minute leisurely boat ride to Front Street and enjoy the festivities.

If you are driving into town, we are 8 miles to Front street.

The indoor kitchen is fully stocked. The griddle in the outdoor kitchen is out of commission, however there is a charcoal grill for your use.

WiFi is available and you may use streaming apps to watch television, however cable tv is not offered.

The home provides ample room to bring the family. There’s nothing fancy here, but peacefulness is found in the simplicity of our home and the tranquility of the water.

Swimming is allowed at your own risk. Kayaks are on site along with life jackets. Kayaks can be used at your own risk.

Security cameras are on site capturing entrance gates, pontoon boat, boat dock, and rear entrance of the house.

Located within the Natchitoches Historic District, this relaxing retreat has been updated with rustic style and features an expansive entry/ kitchen area with plenty of seating at the island, dining table, and chairs. There are beautiful wide plank floors and rugs throughout the common areas and carpeting in the bedrooms. A beautiful spiral staircase winds it way to the downstairs floor where you will find a spacious den with a queen sleeper sofa, bar area with mini-fridge, big screen TV, bedroom and bath.

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you will need to cook and create a magnificent meal. There is a five burner gas range top, 2 built in electric ovens, microwave, large refrigerator, dishwasher and plenty of pots, pans and cooking utensils.

The 3 bedrooms are large at 200-225 sq ft each and the master and downstairs bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms. Each bedroom is equipped with a king size bed and feature Casper mattresses, luxurious linens and flat screen televisions. All the bedrooms have french doors that open out onto rear porches and the river.

All three bathrooms have large walk in tile showers with bench seats. The bathrooms have plenty of storage space and are stocked with plush bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths. The master bath also features a generous soaking tub. There are double vanities in each bathroom so everyone has plenty of room. A commercial sized tank-less water heater ensures that you will never run out of hot water.

Outside, the rear porches both upstairs and down, run the width of the house at 60'. there are plenty of seating options, and it is a very relaxing spot for morning coffee. Behind the carport is a gorgeous new 16X27 deck with a patio table and chairs, charcoal grill. There is a private pier/boat dock at the river, and it is a great spot to get in a little fishing.

We have a no pet policy, however family pets have visited the property, so we cannot guarantee it is allergen free. The cleaning crew will sweep, mop and vacuum between each guest.

There is parking for up to 6 vehicles in the circular driveway.

This is a newly renovated 3bedroom 2 bath home. Great location for people visiting NSU, Downtown Festivals or anyone wanting to spend a few days in Natchitoches. Walking distance to Downtown and less than a 5 minute drive to Wal Mart and most of the major restaurants in town. Exterior security lighting and cameras for your peace of mind. Parking is off of East 5th Street in the grass area near the side door. Our August Lock is located on the side door. This is allows easy access to the property for loading and unloading. There are steps inside the house. There are 2 steps in the master bedroom and a couple steps going from the main entrance into the kitchen area.

Parking is a breeze with enough space to accommodate up to four cars. The gravel parking space on the left of the home is reserved for the neighboring house but the driveway on the right and the circle drive in front are for your exclusive use.

You will love the convenience of this location. Take a horse drawn carriage tour, river boat cruise, tour the historic homes. Stroll down to take a look at the Steel Magnolia House. There is so much to do and see in close proximity.

The apartment is nestled inside of a historic home built in the early 1900s. The 403 is a comfortable modern escape with all of the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. The first thing you will notice as you walk up the front steps to the porch are two rocking chairs. Great for enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and taking in the scenery. This is a private apartment and is not a shared space.

Enter through the front door and into your living room with a sofa and two chairs. There is a Roku TV and a basket with games and puzzles to enjoy. We do not provide cable TV. On the right wall as you come in there is a Murphy Bed (Queen) that tucks away out of sight when not in use. There are two barn doors that can be closed leading to the bedroom for privacy.

The bedroom has a Queen bed and two night stands with USB ports and outlets to charge all of your devices. The lamps are touch activated. There is a small closet with a hanging rod, iron and small ironing board. You will also find a luggage rack to make living out of a suitcase a bit easier. The bathroom is located just inside the bedroom There is a vanity and corner shower. There is no tub in this unit. We do provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a blow dryer. Towels and washcloths are provided.

The kitchen and dining area are in the rear of the house. The dining table seats four people. Kitchen is equipped with dishes, pots & pans , microwave, toaster, coffee pot and everything you will need to cook while you are away from home. If your coffee is as important to you as is to me...I have you covered:) There is a dual K-cup single cup coffee maker alongside a traditional coffee pot. There is also medium roast ground coffee available, decaf coffee and tea. There is a kettle for boiling water on the stove.

Kitchen has a refrigerator/freezer and does not have an ice maker. There is a washer/dryer in the unit for your use. Quiet hours from 10pm - 8AM.

We always recommend travel insurance (purchased at check out) which covers you in the event that you are unable to make your trip to illness or unforeseen circumstances.

Hello! It’s Gina. Welcome to Bayou Bourbeaux Best and Breakfast. It’s our home and we are happy to have you as our guest(s).
We are located at 3161 hwy 1226 in Clarence, Louisiana. Don’t follow GPS directions. They aren’t accurate.

If for some reason I’m not home when you arrive, please let yourself in. You know if you’re in the downstairs king, upstairs with the twins or have the upstairs queen with the bathroom. Come on in and get comfy.

Here are the basics:

Food:
I will make breakfast each morning or you can grab and go. I have a little coffee cart in the kitchen that has stuff you can make and take if you aren’t around for breakfast. There’s also bread for toast and fruit on the counter. Help yourself to milk and OJ in the fridge if you’re up extra early and I haven’t set it out yet. I’m usually up early though.
If you get hungry during your stay, I put some snacks in your room. There’s also food down in the pink coffee cart.
The coffee cart is open 24/7 and has tea, coffee, hot chocolate and all the fixing as well as some snacks on the bottom shelf of the cart. The table next to the cart has a coffee maker, hot water kettle, toaster and anything else you might need.
Water here is safe to drink but looks discolored due to the care iron pipes in this old house (slowly replacing them). There’s a 5 gallon water dispenser off the kitchen in the laundry room for you to use and an ice maker next to the stove.
If you can’t find what you need, let me know!

Bathroom:
Upstairs queen has a private bathroom
Everyone else uses the downstairs LSU bathroom. Towels and toiletries are in the vanity sink drawers (look for the labels).
The original clawfoot tub is what we have. We just upgraded and added the shower. We have found taking a shower in a clawfoot tub comes with some considerations. First, if we don’t use the magnets, it’s like bathing jn a ziplock bag.. the curtain likes to cling to you and there’s no room to shower. So I put magnets all along and it works well. BUT, it’s an old tub and water will escape to the outside and cause a puddle if you don’t put clips where you entered the tub. It isn’t beautiful but it is functional! Again, cast iron pipes and water cause water that looks off color and produces some sediment in the tub after your shower. Don’t worry about it.
The shower itself is really nice and it has the rain and the shower nozzle hose feature. If you don’t like looking out over the pasture when you’re showering there’s a yellow curtain you can close before you hop in the tub. But in my experience nobody’s ever out there to see in and the view from the shower can be relaxing.

Bedrooms:
There are space heaters or electric blankets if you get cold. Windows upstairs can crank open or closed IF they have a crank in the window sill. Just be gentle. They’re the original windows and are fragile. Windows are an upcoming project in this 100 year old house!

Outside:
Feel free to roam the grounds!
Hammocks under the oaks, cornhole, ladder ball, the big connect 4 game or sit on the front or back porch. Jump on the trampoline. Play in the sandbox ;) We have two outside kitties that may come to see what you’re doing.
Coffee on the porch is really peaceful and I highly recommend it.
This is the country. There will be bugs. We have spray.
Fire pit is lovely at night. If you want s’mores we can probably do that too!

Inside:
If you need office supplies or a desk, let me m know!

I’ve got a washer and dryer. Let me know if you need to do laundry. I will help you with my finicky washer.

Feel free to play any of the games I’ve put out in the dining room. There’s a jukebox and a turntable you can use! Jukebox hooks up to your Bluetooth and you can play what you like. Dance party? There’s even a gumball machine.
Hang out all you want in the living room. We have a Wii but I can’t figure out how to hook it up so if you know, let me know! I’d love help setting it up.
You can cast what you like on the TV.

Internet:
We are in the sticks and can’t get any of the popular internet packages. It’s sometimes spotty abut Nomad is the best we can do

Finally, this old house:
Bayou Bourbeaux is 100 years old. I purchased it earlier this year and have been working on cleaning and improving it. It’s been a lot of work.
Keep in mind this is an old house. We live here and it’s not a fancy schmancy BnB like you’ll find in Natchitoches. The house has its quirks and isn’t perfect but we hope you will find it comfortable and peaceful while you’re here and we hope you will return again soon!

We live in Clarence, Louisiana which is a tiny map dot about 15 minutes from Natchitoches, 30 minutes from Coushatta and another 15 minutes to Montgomery. We are 90 minutes from the Shreveport airport and an hour from Alexandria.
Our home is down a quiet country road. The house was built in the 1920’s and we are slowly restoring the place. From the moment you arrive, you’ll feel at peace and at home. Two gigantic oak trees stand watch over the craftsman farmhouse. There’s free standing hammocks under them just waiting to cradle you as you take a relaxing nap. Or maybe you’ll decide to sit in a rocker on the front porch and gaze out at bayou Bourbeaux across the street. Or perhaps you’ll sit on the back patio and watch the horses out in the pasture or catch an amazing sunrise each morning with a fresh cup of coffee.

We're 25 minutes from Natchitoches on Black Lake. We are in a secluded area of a dead end road. Enjoy the peace and quiet surrounded by Spanish moss covered trees. Spend the day in town shopping or enjoying a festival. Return home to relax with a meal on the grill or a glass of wine with friends around the firepit.

The cabin has a huge master bedroom with a king size bed. The living area also includes a sleeping nook with a queen size daybed and full size trundle. There is a sectional sofa and dining table that provide plenty of seating for everyone. We have a coffee bar that is a favorite with guests. We offer a fully stocked kitchen. Stream your favorite Netflix and Amazon Prime shows or movies in the living room and bedroom.

The Cypress Room/Cottage is a serene, private cottage off the lower end of the deck . It has a private hot tub overlooking the river, a large full bathroom, closet, chair and queen bed. Outdoor smoker/BBQ, simple kitchen area, lounging areas and tables (w/wine glasses) available.

You will see the main house as you enter the driveway. You enter the property via a side wooden walkway and door entrance to the deck (that is off the driveway and parking). You walk across the deck, to the left, to your secluded spot.

Whether you are working, fishing, relaxing, hot tubbing, boating, smoking fresh fish you caught this is the spot to be. Oh, and don't forget the views!

Both cottages are on either side of a large deck with common area in the middle with views of the Cane River, separated by the deck. The Cedar Suite Cottage has a large hot tub right outside the room on the large deck overlooking the river. Outdoor smoker/BBQ, simple kitchen area, lounging area, and table available. You'll see the main house as you enter the driveway. Park on the right. You enter via a side wooden walkway and door entrance to the deck that is off the driveway and convenient parking.

Indoor/outdoor living and the view from any angle is incredible!

Emergency Haven + Pets: We are an emergency haven for folks leaving their homes due to hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires. Pets are welcome in this circumstance if they are kenneled. Please speak with the host.

Children: We are mainly an adult facility, given our proximity to the water, if you have children over 8 years old, and would like to bring them, speak with the host about possible accomodation.
