The cabin is in a quiet community, located between the historic town of Jim Thorpe and Big Boulder ski resort. Surrounded by lush rhododendron on a 2-acre wooded lot, the property offers a sense of seclusion without sacrificing the security that comes with being in a community. It is a good place to relax and enjoy nature.

We will be doing renovations on the exterior of the cabin between July 1st and September 30th, 2025. The cabin will not be available any time during this blocked period. If you are interested in renting the cabin after this period, we will let you know of the changes being made, prior to your request.

The interior of the house is newly renovated. The main living area consists of a combined living room and kitchen with a vaulted ceiling. The kitchen is well equipped. The living room is comfortable (with a new reclining sofa and chair recliner) and has a cozy gas fireplace.

The Loft area has just been newly renovated into a Master Bedroom Suite with a Full Bathroom and private deck overlooking the lush rhododendron.

Outside you can relax on the lower deck or in our 4 new Adirondack chairs. There is a gas grille and table with chairs for outside dining.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
○ The charging cable for EV charging is not included - bring your own cable.
○ The TVs do not have cable or streaming subscriptions. Most popular apps are already downloaded - simply bring your own login details. The family room TV has a Chromecast that you can use to cast sports from your laptop.
○ The games room is in the garage and is not heated space. However it is insulated and has heated living areas above it, so it's not freezing and can still be enjoyed in the winter with a light jacket.
○ Please report any accidental damage as soon as it occurs.
○ Guests are responsible for any fines incurred as a result of breaking community rules (this has never happened yet).
○ The owners may store a vehicle in the garage, however it is a very large garage and there will still be space for 2 guest vehicles.
○ A golf cart is stored in the garage. Unfortunately, it's not available for guest use (for insurance reasons).
○ Guests should plan on cleaning the outdoor propane grill after use, if they use it during their stay. Cleaning supplies are located in a crate under the grill. The cleaning fee for the house does not include cleaning the grill. If the grill is left dirty then an additional fee may apply.
○ Only registered watercraft are allowed on the lake, so unfortunately guests cannot bring their own watercraft.

ADDITIONAL RULES:
○ Minimum age for Primary Renter is 30.
○ No candles, slime or confetti.
○ No events.
○ No guests are allowed at the house in addition to those on the original booking - including day guests - this is for insurance reasons.
○ No bachelor parties/weekends or prom celebrations.
○ Host reserves the right to request photo ID from primary renter to verify age and facilitate contactless check-in.
○ If you use the Weber propane grill outside, please clean it after use.
○ No fireworks; community and Township fines apply and primary renter will be liable.
○ 2025 opening dates for community swimming pool. The pool is open on weekends only from Memorial Day weekend until 6/14. From 6/14 onwards it's open every day until Labor Day.

The Owl House is located in the heart of Jim Thorpe, right on Broadway! This beautiful Victorian home built in 1836 is walking distance to the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, museums, shops, trails, and restaurants/bars. Upon entering you will feel the warm and inviting old spirit of a Jim Thorpe Home.

The first floor includes a large living room that has exposed brick with restored original pine wide plank flooring. It also boasts a large Victorian bar and bistro table. French doors lead to the formal dining room featuring a huge eight-foot trestle table with abundant seating. The kitchen is fully stocked to prepare meals, has all modern appliances and a stack washer/dryer. Additionally, there is a half bath on this level. The kitchen leads to a back porch and terraced garden. Enjoy cocktails on the rear porch or at the outdoor dining table.

The second level features a spacious master suite with a king-size bed, a comfortable sitting area, and a private bath. The second bedroom also offers a king-size bed and easy access to a full bath on this floor. Front and rear staircases provide convenient access to the upper level.

The third level provides an additional charming suite with a king bed, sitting area, desk, and its own full bath!

With three roomy bedrooms—each with a king-size bed and its own bathroom— this home is perfectly designed for both comfort and privacy.

- "Spent my birthday weekend here with my family. The location is perfect. You can park your car in the driveway and walk everywhere. The house was very clean and extremely well stocked…more so than any other VRBO stay. The homeowners truly know how to make your time there so easy and hassle-free The backyard is a perfect oasis to enjoy morning coffee and watch hummingbirds. The bedrooms and baths were ideal. The fans and AC units made all rooms very comfortable. There are a lot of steps in the home but there are lights all along them. And the note in the description about car size is important to note. Luckily we were in a Honda CRV rather than our big pickup truck. I can’t say enough about this home and the homeowners who made it the perfect place to stay in Jim Thorpe, PA!"
