If you'd like to rent a suite and have access to an elevated beach surface with sand and lounge chairs, please rent one of our SA Beach suites next door! Access to CURE Wellness and Gym is also included, conveniently located nearby (not onsite).

Getting Around:
Malibu Sand Suites are located in the heart of Malibu within walking distance to the Malibu Pier and just steps away from Malibu's most iconic beach, Carbon Beach. The Malibu Country Mart is approx. 1.2 miles and is reachable by foot or car. We offer car rental services to its guests. Uber is readily available. Since this villa is managed by us, you will automatically receive preferred rental rates through Drive Awhile. Drive Awhile simplifies the car rental process by leaving your rental car at the property with keys inside. You can also leave the car at departure and work with our concierge to arrange your airport transfer. Just like our villas, all of our cars are well-optioned vehicles, ranging from Black on Black Cadillac Escalades (perfect for families) to a convertible Mercedes (perfect for couples) to a Rolls Royce Dawn to a Lamborghini Urus. Drive Awhile has something for everyone, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable travel experience.

2) No pets allowed except for service animals as required by law.

3) No smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, or similar (outside and indoors). Our state-of-the-art smoke detectors notify the fire department - $500 fee for false alarms or rule violations. City Code Section 41.50 B 18 b | High Brush Fire Zone | Prevent Wildfires | It’s the LAW.

4) Do not send mail to property before or after your reservation dates. If needed, send it to our office; we'll deliver to the property on your arrival day. We're not responsible for lost mail.

5) Quiet hours: 10:00pm to 8:00am to ensure peaceful atmosphere for all guests and neighbors. Property is located on Pacific Coast Highway. Guests are subject to hearing potential road noise and/or waves crashing.

7) Day of Arrival:
Let us know if you prefer self-check-in or a personal tour. Only the guest who booked can check in and must show their ID for security.

8) Check-In: We have a check-in window from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Early check-in is based upon availability and will need to be approved by our team. Please keep this in mind as the day of your arrival approaches. If you are arriving later than 6pm, please reach out to our team for approval.

Standard checkout time is 10:00 AM
Late checkout is available up until 12:00 PM for a fee of $50 per hour. Guests must notify our team in advance if they would like a late checkout, as this requires rescheduling our cleaning team. Late checkouts must be approved by our team prior to confirmation

9) When you are departing the property, please make sure that you do not leave anything behind. Our team is not responsible for Lost or Stolen Items. If our team finds a lost item, we will ship it back to the guest. The guest will be responsible for paying the shipping cost plus a $50 service fee.

10) Pre-Stocking: Choose from our available pre-stocking options with at least one week's notice. A $75 service fee applies to all requests.

11) Property is located on Pacific Coast Highway. Guests are subject to hearing potential road noise and/or waves crashing.

12) Parking:
There are three garage ports at the Malibu Sand property; however, only the second and third ports are for the guests staying at the Malibu Sand Suites. The second port can accommodate two vehicles and the third can accommodate one vehicle. So, there are a total of three spots. You will receive one parking pass and you cannot park in any of the three spots without the parking pass. If you are not able to get a spot, then you will need to park on PCH. Note that the handicap spot is ticketed by the police - as are all handicap spots in California. So, do not park there - or anywhere - without the relevant pass(es). The police will not hesitate to charge you +$500 for parking where you shouldn’t.

Cleanliness:
We take our cleaning seriously. You can trust that our homes are thoroughly deep cleaned between guest visits. All of our homes have white hotel-style linens, white towels, toiletries for our guests, and well stocked kitchens with high-end appliances. Amid COVID-19, our cleaning intensified: surfaces wiped with hot water and disinfectants. All towels and linens washed, regardless of appearance; many hotels don't. Door handles and high-touch spots get extra care. Staff wears masks, gloves, and shoe coverings. Our exceptional cleaning surpasses CDC standards.

This property contains an exterior camera at the front door which is motion sensored and is active during guests stay.

Getting Around:
We recommend using Uber or a rental car. Many restaurants and stores are within walking distance of SA Suites on Carbon.

All guest names must be submitted before booking. A guest is anyone who will spend any time at the property. We may request photo ID from the booker and all listed guests.
Unlisted guests are not allowed. This policy helps us stay within legal limits and maintain peace in the neighborhood. Overcapacity may result in cancellation of your stay.
**Guests are only permitted on the complex grounds from check-in to check out time. Guests are not permitted on the property during any other times.

2) No pets unless proof is provided that the pets are service pets. We, out of principle, do not allow any pets. However, due to the American Disabilities Act, we are required by law to accept service pets if a guest does in fact have a service pet.

3) No Smoking or Vaping – It’s the Law
This property is in a High Brush Fire Zone under LA Municipal Code 41.50 B 18 b. Smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, and similar devices are strictly prohibited indoors and outdoors.
Our smoke detectors are highly sensitive—if triggered, the fire department is alerted and a $500 fee applies. If caused by rule violation, the guest will be charged.

4) Do not send mail to property before or after your reservation dates.
If you need mail delivered before or after your stay, then we can help. You may send it to our office. Then we can take your mail to the property for you on the day of your arrival. Please note that we are not responsible for any lost or un-retrieved mail or packages.

6) Keep noise to a minimum between 10:00pm and 8:00am.
Once again, this is to help us maintain the peaceful atmosphere for all of the guests at the property and a peaceful presence within the neighborhood.

7) Parking:
You will receive one parking pass. You cannot park in the parking lot at the front of the property without the parking pass. If you are not able to get a spot, then you will need to park on PCH. Note that the handicap spot is ticketed by the police - as are all handicap spots in California. So, do not park there - or anywhere - without the relevant pass(es). The police will not hesitate to charge you +$500 for parking where you shouldn’t.

8) Please do not hang clothing items or towels off the glass railings in the complex.

9) Pre-Stocking: Choose from our available pre-stocking options with at least one week's notice. A $75 service fee applies to all requests.

10) Day of Arrival:
Please let us know if you prefer self-check-in or a personal tour. Only the guest who booked can check in and must show their ID for security. This is to verify that the person who has arrived is, in fact, the person on the booking. So, please work with us to maintain a secure environment.

11) Check-In: We have a check-in window from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Early check-in is based upon availability and will need to be approved by our team. Please keep this in mind as the day of your arrival approaches. If you are arriving later than 6pm, please reach out to our team for approval.

Cleanliness:
We take our cleaning seriously. You can trust that our homes are thoroughly deep cleaned between guest visits. All of our homes have white hotel-style linens, white towels, toiletries for our guests, and well stocked kitchens with high-end appliances. Amid COVID-19, our cleaning intensified: surfaces wiped with hot water and disinfectants. All towels and linens washed, regardless of appearance; many hotels don't. You can also leave the car at departure and work with our concierge to arrange your airport transfer. Just like our villas, all of our cars are well-optioned vehicles, ranging from Black on Black Cadillac Escalades (perfect for families) to a convertible Mercedes (perfect for couples) to a Rolls Royce Dawn to a Lamborghini Urus. This house is a great place to self-quarantine and get away from the city. We're the last house on the street and there's access to a small hiking trail at the bottom of our driveway. There is another house on the property (which may or may not be occupied only by the owners, we do not rent it out separately) but the entire yard of the barn house is surrounded by a privacy fence so you can enjoy the yard and view at any time.

Use our private tennis courts (2 rackets & balls provided) or basketball hoop.

We understand your concerns with the current coronavirus situation and we want all our guest to know we thoroughly sanitize our property between each guest. We use Lysol or alcohol spray on all light switches, door knobs, and surfaces.

The drive up to the property is a little winding--the views will be worth it! The first time getting up takes a little time to figure out, but once you've figured it out the first time, it's only about 5 minutes off of PCH and much easier subsequent times.

Car is a must--not near any public transport. Uber/Lyft will come here, but they are not always nearby.

Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors in the living areas can be opened fully to fill the home with cool, ocean breezes. Take your pick to enjoy the ocean views from the sofa or head out to the balcony to sunbathe. The home is equipped with a full kitchen and high-speed Wi-Fi. Please note that guests do not have access to the garage. Direct beach access is not possible from the home. However, it is a 3 minutes drive to get to the closest beach (Carbon Beach).

Nobu Malibu is 5 minutes away, Moonshadows is 1 minute away, Geoffrey's is 20 minutes away and Malibu Pier is 5 minutes away. Santa Monica is 20 minutes away from the property. Venice is around 25 minutes depending on traffic. LAX airport is a 45-minute drive from the home.

Getting Around:
We recommend renting a car as many activities are difficult to reach on foot. There is ample street parking and also a designated parking spot in front of the garage.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. Violation of any city noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation. Any gatherings of more than 5 people are not allowed on the property unless discussed and cleared with the host before check in.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

We may require a security deposit for some bookings.

There are surveillance cameras on the outside of the home, both for safety and to ensure rule compliance.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit if applicable, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

SA Suites are located in the heart of Malibu within walking distance to the Malibu Pier and just steps away from Malibu's most iconic beach, Carbon Beach. The Malibu Country Mart is approx. 1.2 miles and is reachable by foot or car. We offer car rental services to its guests. Uber is readily available.

In an effort to keep our properties in good condition and to maintain neighborhood harmony, we have a few rules in place. Please read each rule description carefully:

1) No parties, visitors, or unapproved guests. Submit all guest names prior to booking. Guest list and Government ID may be requested from the person who booked. So, please let us know if you want to have guests and, if so, then how many. A guest is anyone who will spend any amount of time at the property. Our strict guest policy ensures neighborhood peace and legal compliance. Exceeding capacity risks our permit, we may ask you to leave.
**Guests are only permitted on the complex grounds from check-in to check out time. Guests are not permitted on the property during any other times.

2) No pets unless proof of service animal is provided, as required by law.

3) No smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, or similar (outside and indoors). Our state-of-the-art smoke/vapor/gas detectors notify the fire department - $500 fee for false alarms or rule violations (paid by guest). City Code Section 41.50 B 18 b | High Brush Fire Zone | Prevent Wildfires | It’s the LAW.

4) Do not send mail to property before or after your reservation dates. If needed, send it to our office; we'll deliver to the property on your arrival day. We're not responsible for lost mail.

5) Quiet hours: 9pm to 9am to ensure peaceful atmosphere for all guests and neighbors. Property is located on Pacific Coast Highway. Guests are subject to hearing potential road noise and/or waves crashing.

6) Day of Arrival:
Please let us know if you prefer self-check-in or a personal tour. Only the guest who booked can check in and must show their ID for security. This is to verify that the person who has arrived is, in fact, the person on the booking. So, please work with us to maintain a secure environment.

7) Check-In: We have a check-in window from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Early check-in is based upon availability and will need to be approved by our team. Please keep this in mind as the day of your arrival approaches. If you are arriving later than 6pm, please reach out to our team for approval.

Check-out: 10:00am.

8) When you are departing the property, please make sure that you do not leave anything behind. Our team is not responsible for Lost or Stolen Items. If our team finds a lost item, we will ship it back to the guest. The guest will be responsible for paying the shipping cost plus a $50 service fee.

9) Pre-Stocking: Choose from our available pre-stocking options with at least one week's notice. A $75 service fee applies to all requests.

10) Parking:
You will receive one parking pass. You cannot park in the parking lot at the front of the property without the parking pass. If you are not able to get a spot, then you will need to park on PCH. Note that the handicap spot is ticketed by the police - as are all handicap spots in California. So, do not park there - or anywhere - without the relevant pass(es). The police will not hesitate to charge you +$500 for parking where you shouldn’t.

11) Please do not hang clothing items or towels off the glass railings in the complex.

Cleanliness:
We take our cleaning seriously. You can trust that our homes are thoroughly deep cleaned between guest visits. All of our homes have white hotel-style linens, white towels, toiletries for our guests, and well stocked kitchens with high-end appliances. Amid COVID-19, our cleaning intensified: surfaces wiped with hot water and disinfectants. All towels and linens washed, regardless of appearance; many hotels don't. Door handles and high-touch spots get extra care. Staff wears masks, gloves, and shoe coverings. Our exceptional cleaning surpasses CDC standards.

This property contains an exterior camera at the front door which is motion sensored and is active during guests stay.

We are a professional vacation rental hospitality management company. We maintain high hospitality standards with an in-house team of designers, concierge, hosts, maintenance personnel, and stylists. - "The location of this property is amazing. The views are incredible. The beach is just 60 stairs away in the backyard. The stairs are steep, all different sizes and widths and there isn't a railing but it is so worth it! There are not any window coverings at all in the primary bedroom and the blinds in the other bedrooms do not fully close so you will wake up early. After we booked the house, we then got word that there isn't cable TV, that the bathtub jets don't work, and a few other things. The TV in the primary bedroom doesn't work at all. We had a few minor issues and called Vacasa. Had to call 3 days in a row before a wonderful woman names Rita told us she would make sure someone responded to us immediately. The next day a very nice man came out and spent over an hour making sure everything was in working order. The house itself was ok, for the price I felt more things should have been working (not all the outlets work, the light by the primary toilet flashes continuously, the lack of blinds, the lack of working TV, the beach gate doesn't lock, the outdoor sink in not operational, the outside covered area that has the sink is dirty, the kitchen pantry was very dirty, most of the drawers in the kitchen and the bathroom were dirty) But....the views, and the beach access are incredible and totally worth it!"

Parking:
Exterior parking is first come, first served in unmarked spots. Handicap spots require a placard. Overflow parking is available across the street on the rooftop in Stay Awhile Villas–marked spaces.

A 3.55% processing fee also applies to any additional service charges, including pre-stocking, mid-stay cleaning, pool heating, and similar services. The guest name must match the name on the credit card. Guests have private access to the entire unit. Building amenities—including pool, spa, private beach, and laundry—are shared. Exclusive access to CURE, a nearby private wellness club, is also included.

The Neighborhood:
Located on Carbon Beach, just steps from Nobu, Soho House, and Malibu Pier. We only host respectful guests who honor our quiet hours (9pm–8am) and community standards. Disruptive behavior will result in removal without refund.

To maintain property and neighborhood harmony, we have important rules. Please read carefully.

1) No parties, visitors, or unapproved guests. Submit all guest names before booking. Government ID may be requested from the person who booked. A guest is anyone who will spend any amount of time at the property. Our strict guest policy ensures neighborhood peace and legal compliance. Exceeding capacity risks our permit, we may ask you to leave.

2) No pets allowed except for service animals as required by law.

3) No smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, or similar (outside and indoors). Our state-of-the-art smoke detectors notify the fire department - $500 fee for false alarms or rule violations. City Code Section 41.50 B 18 b | High Brush Fire Zone | Prevent Wildfires | It’s the LAW. We are in a high brush fire zone. In effort to prevent wildfiresthe state can turn utilities on and off intermittently. Stay Awhile will not offer any refunds in this case.

4) Do not send mail to property before or after your reservation dates. If needed, send it to our office; we'll deliver to the property on your arrival day. We're not responsible for lost mail.

5) Quiet hours: 9:00 pm to 9:00am to ensure peaceful atmosphere for all guests and neighbors.

7) The property is on Pacific Coast Highway—guests may hear road noise or waves. No lifeguard on duty; never leave children unattended near the beach or PCH.

8) Day of Arrival:
Let us know if you prefer self-check-in or a personal tour. Only the guest who booked can check in and must show their ID for security.

9) Check-In: We have a check-in window from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Early check-in is based upon availability and will need to be approved by our team. If you are arriving later than 6pm, please reach out to our team for approval.

Check Out: 10:00am. Late checkout is based upon availability and needs to be approved in advance. Our late check-out fee is $100 for every hour after 10:00am. Additionally, if you want to check-out after 12:00 pm, then you will need to pay a fee equal to one full day.

10) Before departing, please check for personal items. We’re not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. If found, items can be shipped back for the shipping cost plus a $50 service fee.

11) Pre-Stocking: Choose from our available pre-stocking options with at least one week's notice. A $75 service fee applies to all requests.

We also use non-toxic pest repellents only around the outside of the house - partly for our family health reasons, and partly because we have a small doodle and don't want toxins around her.
Because of this, especially during warmer months, it's possible you may see some ants inside the house. This is a common seasonal issue in coastal Southern California and difficult to eliminate entirely with natural methods, especially if you’re bringing pets along.

The space
Views of Trees and hills from the window or sitting at outside patio set, in front of your main entrance door. Short walk from the front door is your private dirt parking space! (or if rainy/recently rainy, or if you prefer to park on the street- short walk from the street-following the solar lights if arriving at dark).

One Queen, comfy bed! One queen air mattress- you can request to be set up ahead of time- electric motor, so easily deflated during the day for more space. One trundle bed with two single mattresses or chaise lounge is also sleepable!

The cozy home studio is a perfect size for two people, snug for 4-6, but plenty of space to expand outside!

Coziness include: Fridge, Toaster Oven, microwave & electric kettle (no kitchen sink!), crock pot, dishes, utensils, Wireless Internet and a clawfoot tub for relaxing! Clean sheets/blankets/towels, Amazon Echo, views of trees and hills, No TV, perfect for an off-the-grid rustic local Malibu experience! NOTE: laundry machines are not for guest use, and our kitchen sink is out of order, but you can use the faucet and basin (the drain doesn't work) and use the bathroom sink or dump the water outside.

We provide non-toxic/chemical free Shampoo/Conditioner/Soap for all our guests. We use all-natural and chemical-free products to clean the cabin.

Please do not book this listing if you are afraid of nature or its creatures. This rustic studio is in the Santa Monica Mountains and you are very likely to hear (or see) coyotes, hawks, roadrunners and bunnies. You may be lucky enough to spot bobcats, quail, hawks, owls, mice (outside). They are usually very shy and won't bother humans, but they are our neighbors! Sometimes ants will decide to take a shortcut through the tiny home studio. They are harmless and do not seek to interact with humans. Do not leave food out for them to devour! (PROTIP: In warm months, we have trash bags for food trash -put in fridge or freezer to keep the ants away.)

The private gravel and dirt driveway and parking spaces, back patio hangout space and studio apartment with full bathroom and kitchenette, is all for your private use. If there is rain (or recent rain), then parking is on the street with a very short walk to cozy home studio. If you prefer to park on the street you can also do that, low cars and luxury cars have parked in our driveway but up to your personal comfort! - NOTE: Please do not walk freely around our property outside of the area described <3 but The views up at the end of the street are EXTRAORDINARY!

Malibu canyon remodeled apartment that is UNDERNEATH AND ATTACHED TO OUR FAMILY HOME--COMPLETELY PRIVATE: private entrance, full kitchen, bedroom, 2 patios, and hot tub. Private mountain views, only 2 miles from PCH and beaches, Pepperdine, shopping. State park land and hikes 5 minutes away without having to go down hill (yes, it is up in the hills/requires driving up the canyon--very quiet and secluded, though in one of the kindest neighborhoods you'll come across ;0)

Private in every way yet part of a family home, this space allows for kick back privacy, while not worrying about tip-toeing around. It was formally our eldest son's bedroom that recently got a full facelift and new kitchen/bathroom! You will hear our family pitter-patter and chitter-chatter now and then when we're around

Our apartment is located in the canyons up two-lane, well-kept, county paved road, but a canyon road nonetheless (windy in places, wildlife all around). The space
Private upstairs guest house overlooking Paradise Cove, Malibu. One bedroom, full bath and well equipped kitchen. Two balcony patios overlooking rolling hills to the ocean. Have your morning coffee on the balcony and then wander off to explore beautiful Malibu and the greater Los Angeles area.

You will be about a half mile walk to Paradise Cove Beach, or from 2 miles (Zuma Beach) to 7 miles (Malibu Beach) from world famous beaches. If you like to hike, we are walking distance from California State and National parklands that offer beautiful and varied terrains for hiking or biking (or horseback riding).

We are a mile or less from restaurants, and grocery stores, and 6 miles from "downtown" Malibu, where you will find movie theaters, shops and restaurants.

Other things to note
Please note that the drive from Pacific Coast Highway to our home is 10 minutes of windy, curvy canyon roads and it can be a bit difficult to navigate the first time. We recommend having your directions ready before you turn onto Latigo Canyon Rd, there are a few places on the way up where reception can get lost.

Uber/ride shares and also food deliveries are not options at our home. There are several ways to our home and Google maps tends to direct drivers to a dirt road that is extremely bumpy and is not good for low clearance cars. We have had to go up and rescue several Uber and delivery drivers that renters have tried to arrange. Most of the time they will decline the request, in the few times that they have agreed, we have had to help them when they’ve either gotten lost or stuck.

We lost our home in the Woolsey fire in 2018 and we rebuilt a non-combustible, steel, contemporary home. We are still remodeling parts of the house and redoing the landscaping so the property is not perfect but the work does not impact the guest unit.
