Your space is the luxe bottom floor of a two-unit structure, completely private and separate from the top unit, with two rooms, cozy living and work spaces, and private kitchen.
The property is unlike any place you’ve ever experienced, but it has some quirks!
You will be renting the ground floor of a huge two-unit structure, it feels like a house, not at all like an apartment.
We may or may not be in the upper unit during your stay, depends on the season. We value your privacy, and also our own, and will be invisible unless you need help with anything.
The building is surrounded on all sides by a massive koi pond, and you must step across some elegant concrete steps with water passing between - not ideal for wheelchair - but not impossible!
The breathtaking pool and hot tub are available to you all day and night, just ask for the hot tub to be turned on 30 min before you want to use it.
We are right up against the beautiful Santa Monica mountains, and share the space with many creatures, many you can see easily around the property - frogs, turtles, hawks, hummingbirds - as well as the occasional mouse. All the critters are harmless and part of the deep Malibu experience.

At low tide, the beach stretches for miles. There are 3 sea kayaks and multiple boogey boards stored underneath the bldg and two bicycles. Cycle the 2 miles down tranquil Malibu Road to trendy shops, restaurants, art classes, yoga classes, and Starbucks in the center of Malibu. Take surfing lessons at Surfrider Beach, hike the trails in the adjacent Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and body surf at Zuma Beach. Enjoy the long walks at sunset on the beach and enjoy the ocean views from your private deck.

This charming 1 bedroom/1 bath guest apartment boasts your own private ocean-view patio, private entrance, full kitchen, washer/dryer, fully-tiled floors and high-quality furnishings. Located on a quiet street just 400 yards from the ocean as the crow flies and a two-minute drive, the enchanting blue Pacific fills the expansive window views from every room in the apartment. In fact, you’ll never get tired of gazing over the beguiling and ever-changing ocean from the king-sized bed. From our elevation of 380 feet on a clear day, you can see several Channel Islands including Catalina, and if you’re lucky, you might even spy a whale and her calf on their way north from Mexico.

The sleeper sofa also has queen bed. They all have new comfortable mattresses and super comfy linens and pillows.

Our guests have access to their assigned suite and all shared common areas, including the expansive grassy area, grilling stations, beach sand lounging area, and laundry room. Access to CURE Wellness and Gym is also included, conveniently located nearby (not onsite).

Dubbed "Billionaire's Beach" by locals, Carbon Beach has become one of the most popular and requested beaches in Malibu. Known for its long sandy beaches makes Carbon perfect for long walks on the beach, paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, and sunbathing. You will be steps away from Nobu, the SoHo House, and seconds away from the sand. You can walk to Surfrider beach or the Malibu Pier from the beach access onsite, or you can walk a little further to the Country Mart for the best restaurants and shops in Malibu. There are always new shops opening nearly every day.
Property is located on Pacific Coast Highway. Guests are subject to hearing potential road noise and/or waves crashing.
Getting Around:
SA Suites are located in the heart of Malibu within walking distance to the Malibu Pier and just steps away from Malibu's most iconic beach, Carbon Beach. The Malibu Country Mart is approx. 1.2 miles and is reachable by foot or car. We offer car rental services to our guests. Uber is readily available.

Place is well staffed and feels like boutique hotel. Check in was seamless and staff are extremely polite and responsive. Welcome to this gorgeous town home that is, hands down, one of the finest units in Malibu. This fully furnished and renovated, ocean view stunner will amaze. Great entertainers unit with living/dining/kitchen and Ocean patio open floor plan downstairs. A large laundry room and additional storage also round out the lower level. Upstairs has 2 bedrooms with 1 King and 2 Double beds, 2 bath, both bedrooms have fabulous ocean views and balconies. Large master suite, boasting a walk in closet and large bath with double vanity, glass shower and luxurious bath tub. Salt water pool in complex too!

Since this villa is managed by us, you will automatically receive preferred rental rates through Drive Awhile. Drive Awhile simplifies the car rental process by leaving your rental car at the property with keys inside. You can also leave the car at departure and work with our concierge to arrange your airport transfer. Just like our villas, all of our cars are well-optioned vehicles, ranging from Black on Black Cadillac Escalades (perfect for families) to a convertible Mercedes (perfect for couples) to a Rolls Royce Dawn to a Lamborghini Urus. Drive Awhile has something for everyone, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable travel experience.

Please message our team and speak with the Home Manage before booking. Mandatory additional terms may apply depending on your booking platform. Credit card processing fee may be required post-booking. In case of cancellation, the stated booking cancellation policy applies.
To maintain property and neighborhood harmony, we have important rules. Please read carefully.
1) No parties, visitors, or unapproved guests. Submit all guest names before booking. Government ID may be requested from the person who booked. A guest is anyone who will spend any amount of time at the property. Our strict guest policy ensures neighborhood peace and legal compliance. Exceeding capacity risks our permit, we may ask you to leave.
2) No pets allowed except for service animals as required by law.
3) No smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, or similar (outside and indoors). Our state-of-the-art smoke detectors notify the fire department - $500 fee for false alarms or rule violations. City Code Section 41.50 B 18 b | High Brush Fire Zone | Prevent Wildfires | It’s the LAW.
4) Do not send mail to property before or after your reservation dates. If needed, send it to our office; we'll deliver to the property on your arrival day. We're not responsible for lost mail.
5) Quiet hours: 10:00pm to 8:00am to ensure peaceful atmosphere for all guests and neighbors. Property is located on Pacific Coast Highway. Guests are subject to hearing potential road noise and/or waves crashing.
7) Day of Arrival:
Let us know if you prefer self-check-in or a personal tour. Only the guest who booked can check in and must show their ID for security.
8) Check-In: We have a check-in window from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Early check-in is based upon availability and will need to be approved by our team. Please keep this in mind as the day of your arrival approaches. If you are arriving later than 6pm, please reach out to our team for approval.
Standard checkout time is 10:00 AM
Late checkout is available up until 12:00 PM for a fee of $50 per hour. Guests must notify our team in advance if they would like a late checkout, as this requires rescheduling our cleaning team. Late checkouts must be approved by our team prior to confirmation
9) When you are departing the property, please make sure that you do not leave anything behind. Our team is not responsible for Lost or Stolen Items. If our team finds a lost item, we will ship it back to the guest. The guest will be responsible for paying the shipping cost plus a $50 service fee.
10) Pre-Stocking: Choose from our available pre-stocking options with at least one week's notice. A $75 service fee applies to all requests.
11) Property is located on Pacific Coast Highway. Guests are subject to hearing potential road noise and/or waves crashing.
12) Parking:
There are three garage ports at the Malibu Sand property; however, only the second and third ports are for the guests staying at the Malibu Sand Suites. The second port can accommodate two vehicles and the third can accommodate one vehicle. So, there are a total of three spots. You will receive one parking pass and you cannot park in any of the three spots without the parking pass. If you are not able to get a spot, then you will need to park on PCH. Note that the handicap spot is ticketed by the police - as are all handicap spots in California. So, do not park there - or anywhere - without the relevant pass(es). The police will not hesitate to charge you +$500 for parking where you shouldn’t.
Cleanliness:
We take our cleaning seriously. You can trust that our homes are thoroughly deep cleaned between guest visits. All of our homes have white hotel-style linens, white towels, toiletries for our guests, and well stocked kitchens with high-end appliances. Amid COVID-19, our cleaning intensified: surfaces wiped with hot water and disinfectants. All towels and linens washed, regardless of appearance; many hotels don't. Door handles and high-touch spots get extra care. Staff wears masks, gloves, and shoe coverings. Our exceptional cleaning surpasses CDC standards.
This property contains an exterior camera at the front door which is motion sensored and is active during guests stay.

Welcome to our newest beachfront penthouse vacation rental, PORPOISE, located in mid-Malibu on sandy Carbon Beach.
This newly updated, top floor vacation rental has panoramic ocean views bringing our guests the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Views include the Queens Necklace of the Santa Monica Bay, Palos Verdes and Catalina Islands. We’re located walking distance to the Malibu Pier, NOBU and world famous Surfrider Beach.
This two-bedroom and one and a half bath unit has a living room with a fireplace, indoor dining area with a table to seat 6 guests, outdoor furniture and barbecue on a large private deck and a good size fully stocked kitchen should you choose to cook during your stay.
In the primary bedroom there is a king size bed and half bath ensuite. There is a queen size bed in the second bedroom with a full bathroom adjacent. Both bedrooms have large, flat screen smart TV’s, custom closets and nightstands.
In the living room there is a 3rd flat screen TV, a pull out sofa with a queen size mattress and a gas fireplace.
The kitchen features quartz countertops and stainless-steel appliances; refrigerator, gas stove and microwave. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, serving dishes/bowls, glassware, utensils, toaster, Keurig coffee maker and dish towels.
We provide WiFi, all bed linens, towels and beach chairs. There is also a washer & dryer on site for your convenience. Coins are provided and available inside the vacation rental. There is garage parking onsite and the property is gated for extra privacy.

In an effort to keep our properties in good condition and to maintain a peaceful presence within the neighborhood, we have a few rules in place. It is important to understand these, so please be sure to read the descriptions of each rule as well.
1) **No Parties. No Visitors. No Unapproved Guests.**
All guest names must be submitted before booking. A guest is anyone who will spend any time at the property. We may request photo ID from the booker and all listed guests.
Unlisted guests are not allowed. This policy helps us stay within legal limits and maintain peace in the neighborhood. Overcapacity may result in cancellation of your stay.
**Guests are only permitted on the complex grounds from check-in to check out time. Guests are not permitted on the property during any other times.
2) No pets unless proof is provided that the pets are service pets. We, out of principle, do not allow any pets. However, due to the American Disabilities Act, we are required by law to accept service pets if a guest does in fact have a service pet.
3) No Smoking or Vaping – It’s the Law
This property is in a High Brush Fire Zone under LA Municipal Code 41.50 B 18 b. Smoking, vaping, e-cigarettes, and similar devices are strictly prohibited indoors and outdoors.
Our smoke detectors are highly sensitive—if triggered, the fire department is alerted and a $500 fee applies. If caused by rule violation, the guest will be charged.
4) Do not send mail to property before or after your reservation dates.
If you need mail delivered before or after your stay, then we can help. You may send it to our office. Then we can take your mail to the property for you on the day of your arrival. Please note that we are not responsible for any lost or un-retrieved mail or packages.
6) Keep noise to a minimum between 10:00pm and 8:00am.
Once again, this is to help us maintain the peaceful atmosphere for all of the guests at the property and a peaceful presence within the neighborhood.

7) Parking:
You will receive one parking pass. You cannot park in the parking lot at the front of the property without the parking pass. If you are not able to get a spot, then you will need to park on PCH. Note that the handicap spot is ticketed by the police - as are all handicap spots in California. So, do not park there - or anywhere - without the relevant pass(es). The police will not hesitate to charge you +$500 for parking where you shouldn’t.
8) Please do not hang clothing items or towels off the glass railings in the complex.
9) Pre-Stocking: Choose from our available pre-stocking options with at least one week's notice. A $75 service fee applies to all requests.
10) Day of Arrival:
Please let us know if you prefer self-check-in or a personal tour. Only the guest who booked can check in and must show their ID for security. This is to verify that the person who has arrived is, in fact, the person on the booking. So, please work with us to maintain a secure environment.
11) Check-In: We have a check-in window from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Early check-in is based upon availability and will need to be approved by our team. Please keep this in mind as the day of your arrival approaches. If you are arriving later than 6pm, please reach out to our team for approval.

Cleanliness:
We take our cleaning seriously. You can trust that our homes are thoroughly deep cleaned between guest visits. All of our homes have white hotel-style linens, white towels, toiletries for our guests, and well stocked kitchens with high-end appliances. Amid COVID-19, our cleaning intensified: surfaces wiped with hot water and disinfectants. All towels and linens washed, regardless of appearance; many hotels don't. Door handles and high-touch spots get extra care. Staff wears masks, gloves, and shoe coverings. Our exceptional cleaning surpasses CDC standards.

This particular unit is a spacious 2 bedroom with 2 pullout sofa's perfect for families or friends traveling. Drive Awhile simplifies the car rental process by leaving your rental car at the property with keys inside. You can also leave the car at departure and work with our concierge to arrange your airport transfer. Just like our villas, all of our cars are well-optioned vehicles, ranging from Black on Black Cadillac Escalades (perfect for families) to a convertible Mercedes (perfect for couples) to a Rolls Royce Dawn to a Lamborghini Urus. Drive Awhile has something for everyone, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable travel experience.

This house is a great place to self-quarantine and get away from the city. We're the last house on the street and there's access to a small hiking trail at the bottom of our driveway. There is another house on the property (which may or may not be occupied only by the owners, we do not rent it out separately) but the entire yard of the barn house is surrounded by a privacy fence so you can enjoy the yard and view at any time.
Use our private tennis courts (2 rackets & balls provided) or basketball hoop.
We understand your concerns with the current coronavirus situation and we want all our guest to know we thoroughly sanitize our property between each guest. We use Lysol or alcohol spray on all light switches, door knobs, and surfaces.
Please understand that we are doing our best to accommodate for our guests while responsibly following directives on social distancing. We will be happy to help by phone for all questions and will reserve in-person help to only emergency situations.

I am available 24/7 for guests and will do absolutely everything possible to give you a 5 star stay. Please let me know in advance of any special requests or if you need help making reservations or want suggestions of where to go.
The drive up to the property is a little winding--the views will be worth it! The first time getting up takes a little time to figure out, but once you've figured it out the first time, it's only about 5 minutes off of PCH and much easier subsequent times.
Car is a must--not near any public transport. Uber/Lyft will come here, but they are not always nearby.

The home's Tulum Chic design has been fully refinished and furnished throughout with luxe, high-end amenities and stylish decor for an elevated guest experience. The living area features a big flat-screen TV and a Bluetooth speaker for entertainment. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors in the living areas can be opened fully to fill the home with cool, ocean breezes. Take your pick to enjoy the ocean views from the sofa or head out to the balcony to sunbathe. The home is equipped with a full kitchen and high-speed Wi-Fi. Please note that guests do not have access to the garage. Direct beach access is not possible from the home. However, it is a 3 minutes drive to get to the closest beach (Carbon Beach).

Venice is around 25 minutes depending on traffic. LAX airport is a 45-minute drive from the home.
Getting Around:
We recommend renting a car as many activities are difficult to reach on foot. There is ample street parking and also a designated parking spot in front of the garage.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. Any gatherings of more than 5 people are not allowed on the property unless discussed and cleared with the host before check in.
Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.
We may require a security deposit for some bookings.
There are surveillance cameras on the outside of the home, both for safety and to ensure rule compliance.
This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit if applicable, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

1200 square foot home with 2 bedrooms and fantastic ocean view (Point Dume). We live next door and want you to be relaxed and happy.There is a small master bedroom with a queen size bed and second bedroom with a full size bed. Both are high quality mattresses (Restonic (full) & Royal Pedic of Beverly Hills (master)).If you really need an extra bed (more than the two I have there), you can request that I leave you an airbed (twin) for one more person to use.There are 2 bathrooms. The master bathroom has a large shower area which was redone more recently. The other bathroom and sink area in the master are from an older era.The kitchen is simple. There is a new LG gas oven/stove and a Bosch dishwasher. Both have been recently checked and serviced. Dishes, Cuisinart pots and pans, a coffee maker, olive oil, vinegar and some other supplies are stocked. do not be surprised if there is food in the house because our family Lee often visits and over buys. We are always happy to have our guests use anything that’s been left there. For example, right now I have an over abundance of frozen fruit that can be used for smoothies.
We are in the El Nido area of Corral Canyon which 1.6 miles above PCH and Solstice Canyon park and 3.9 miles from Pepperdine. Our neighborhood is very friendly. You should definitely walk through Solstice Canyon Park and consider going to the very top of Corral Canyon, as well. Our house is not far from Malibu Seafood which has the freshest fish in town.
You can eat there or purchase fish to grill at the house on the gas BBQ which is outside on the back deck. You will enjoy eating in the house with the french doors open to admire our amazing views of Point Dume and the coastline.I have some lounge chairs on the deck where you also can relax and have a glass of wine or do some yoga.This is a cozy and comfortable low key house with a spectacular view. My main living area has mostly mid-century furniture: Maharam's Eames dot fabric is on the dining chairs and the red chair in living room is upholstered with Knoll Arno Pomegranate fabric. We have also decided to add some lovely cream colored drapes adjacent to the french doors. We found with one of our prior guests who traveled with curtains that this really increased energy efficiency - the drapes keep the home cooler when the weather is hot and also keep the home warmer when the weather is cool.
Notice to those who want to make an offer concerning a long term tenancy (considered to be at least 31 days). We like to customize our home based on the tenant. So, if we know what you need, you can change around furniture and take a look at other options that might suit your stay. Please move all furniture back before you leave as it is hard for my maid to do it.

6) Day of Arrival:
Please let us know if you prefer self-check-in or a personal tour. Only the guest who booked can check in and must show their ID for security. This is to verify that the person who has arrived is, in fact, the person on the booking. So, please work with us to maintain a secure environment.
7) Check-In: We have a check-in window from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Early check-in is based upon availability and will need to be approved by our team. Please keep this in mind as the day of your arrival approaches. If you are arriving later than 6pm, please reach out to our team for approval.
Check-out: 10:00am.
8) When you are departing the property, please make sure that you do not leave anything behind. Our team is not responsible for Lost or Stolen Items. If our team finds a lost item, we will ship it back to the guest. The guest will be responsible for paying the shipping cost plus a $50 service fee.
9) Pre-Stocking: Choose from our available pre-stocking options with at least one week's notice. A $75 service fee applies to all requests.
10) Parking:
You will receive one parking pass. You cannot park in the parking lot at the front of the property without the parking pass. If you are not able to get a spot, then you will need to park on PCH. Note that the handicap spot is ticketed by the police - as are all handicap spots in California. So, do not park there - or anywhere - without the relevant pass(es). The police will not hesitate to charge you +$500 for parking where you shouldn’t.
11) Please do not hang clothing items or towels off the glass railings in the complex.
Cleanliness:
We take our cleaning seriously. You can trust that our homes are thoroughly deep cleaned between guest visits. All of our homes have white hotel-style linens, white towels, toiletries for our guests, and well stocked kitchens with high-end appliances. Amid COVID-19, our cleaning intensified: surfaces wiped with hot water and disinfectants. All towels and linens washed, regardless of appearance; many hotels don't. Door handles and high-touch spots get extra care. Staff wears masks, gloves, and shoe coverings. Our exceptional cleaning surpasses CDC standards.
This property contains an exterior camera at the front door which is motion sensored and is active during guests stay.

Our comfortable and serene guesthouse overlooks Paradise Cove. French doors lead to private balconies (6'x25') both with ocean views. Zuma, Malibu, and Leo Carrillo (County Line) beaches are from 2 to 7 minute drive away. We are a short drive or a long walk from miles and miles of trails and hiking in the beautiful Santa Monica Mountains. Pepperdine University is 6 miles away, making this a perfect base for visiting the school.
The guesthouse is located upstairs, over a detached garage.It has a private entry, one bedroom with a new king-size bed (and luxury linens), a great room with 2 large couches, flat screen TV, internet, dining table and chairs.
The bathroom is granite and tile, and there is also an outdoor shower for beach sand wash off. The large couches in the living room can sleep either two children, or anyone under 5'8' comfortably. Apple TV box in living room allows you to rent movies etc on your iTune account.

This beautiful, spacious guest suite was built as if we were going to live there and can sleep 4-6 people. Includes all new kitchen, bathroom, appliances, king size bed, special "screening"/family room and kitchen/dining room. Set in the incredible nature of the Malibu Bowl, your suite has modern amenities, everything you need for the beach, and immediate access to amazing Hiking, Biking and Beach... And you have your own outdoor patio with gas fire pit, so you can enjoy evenings outdoors too.
The space.
The guest suite is on the lower level of the house, around 1000 Square feet.
There are three big rooms plus walk-in closet and bathroom:
Kitchen/Dining/Hangout - this leads out to the patio and garden area. This is a big room (very high ceilings) completely decked out with everything you need for simple to fancy meals and having a nice area where people can hang out while you cook (or order in :-). Appliances include Gas Stove & Oven, Range Hood, Washer/Dryer, Refrigerator, everything you need to prepare/cook/eat/clean and a massive versatile kitchen sink. We provide coffe pods.Almond Milk, Oatmilk, Honey, Oatmeal, Olive Oil, Filtered Water, Wineglasses and even a bottle of wine for your trip.
Family Room features a big sofa with space for 5, (more on the floor) has. a book case with interesting reading, games for kids (and adults) and its own guest suite TV with streaming everything.
Bedroom is huge with space for a king size bed and a big sofa bed that can be either a queen or 2 twins depending on whats guests need. A night stand and large dresser completes the vibe and offers storage space. Theres another large flatscreen TV in the bedroom and a small desk/workspace thats great for a computer.
Closet - Off the bedroom is a huge walk-in closet with hangers, drawers, extra linens (sheets, pillows and comforters), beach towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, cooler. All you need is food, Ice and the beach! Seriously this is a big walk in closet!
Bathroom - Beautiful new, modern, porcelain tile, and modern everything gives you a beautiful bathroom. We provide beautiful, locally sourced bathroom products by Griffin Remedy. While not technically organic, the owner of the company was an ex employee at the Whole Body shop, and designed this product to be simple, effective, and even biodegradeable (even though its no longer listed as such).
Patio - A beautiful, simple outdoor area for end of day gatherings or meals outside. Gas firepit for heat in the cool of evening and gas barbecue make this feel a little bit like a ski chalet (Minus the snow).
Basically this guest suite is supposed to feel like home away from home. We hope you enjoy!

Upon check-in we will buzz you in the private road and you will receive a gate clicker that will allow you to access the private road that is a quick and easy way to get to/from Pacific Coast Highway. We have 1 gate opener that you can borrow, but their use is subject to the gate road association's regulations which may change in the future (which would require simply entering a code to get buzzed in and out of the gate each time).
Please note no trucks, vans (including minivans), Sprinter/high top vans, camper vans, or oversize SUVs can use the private, gated road. You will need to take the longer, back route which is rather windy and takes about 10-15 minutes versus using the private gate. Only standard cars and small or mid-size SUVs can use the private gated road.
Sara is our full-time, professional Superhost available 24/7 during your stay. We give our guests privacy first and foremost. We also pride ourselves on being responsive and helpful hosts and are available by phone (at all hours) if any issues arise during your stay. We are also more than happy to provide recommendations for local restaurants, shopping, beaches, hiking trails, and other outdoor activities.

Upon check-in we will buzz you in the private road and you will receive a gate clicker that will allow you to access the private road that is a quick and easy way to get to/from Pacific Coast Highway. We will absolutely do our best to buzz you in and out for your arrival and departure, but please be aware that if you arrive or depart between midnight and 7am, you might need to take the longer, windy route which is about 10-15 extra minutes to PCH.

This house is surrounded by some amazing nature, and so you can expect to see some bugs and wildlife at times. In the summer they are especially active--we are always clearing off spider webs and cleaning inside and outside but please understand you probably will run into some bugs & critters during your stay.
Uber and Lyft may take a long time to go to this neighborhood and a car is very strongly recommended to stay at this home located on the Malibu Mountains.

Q: Is the beach walkable?
A: Unfortunately not, in order to get this incredible, panoramic ocean view we are on a street that has a steep incline and walking to the beach isn't really an option (some guests who are active/hikers have but personally I would NOT consider it walkable). We're a 2-3 minute drive away from Duke's Malibu, and from there many beaches can be reached within minutes.
Q: Can I host my event here?
A: We may on a limited basis allow a hard limit of 15 people on the property. Extra fees will apply and typically start at $5K. We will needs specifics about your request to know if it's possible and give an accurate quote. If the request involves more than 15 people we cannot host it.
Q: Can I film/take pictures here?
A: We do not book shoots through VRBO. You need to go through on of our location agencies--We are represented by Malibu Locations, Image Locations, and Cast Locations.
Q: Do you really mean it when you say no parties/gatherings/extra visitors who aren't spending the night??
A: YES! We will cancel your reservation without a refund if you try to bring extra people on to the property. Our home stayed safe during the fires and has been professionally remediated by a licensed contractor. We have a Reverse Osmosis water filtration system and 3 HEPA air purifiers for extra peace of mind.
★ Is there power and internet?
Yes, we currently have both, powered by a generator. While other nearby properties on generator power have reported few issues, please know the situation can change.
★ Is the area around the home damaged?
Some nearby homes and landscapes were affected by the fire. Our building was not damaged, but recovery in the neighborhood is ongoing and conditions vary.
★ What happens if the situation changes?

We LOVE pets, but you MUST ask before booking, as sometimes guests who are very allergic have booked after you and we need to make sure we provide a safe space for them too. Since we can typically only rent for 30+ days and we maintain almost 100% occupancy, when booking, please don't leave gaps of less than 30 days before & after your reservation and the start or end of the previous or next reservation.
If you need items for a baby like a Pack n' Play, let us know in advance so we can get those out of storage for you.
For your safety, there is a Ring doorbell camera & a Ring camera on the right side of private balcony pointed downwards towards the balcony and out towards the ocean. They record audio/video when there is motion but can be seen at anytime.

Views of Trees and hills from the window or sitting at outside patio set, in front of your main entrance door. Short walk from the front door is your private dirt parking space! (or if rainy/recently rainy, or if you prefer to park on the street- short walk from the street-following the solar lights if arriving at dark).
One Queen, comfy bed! One queen air mattress- you can request to be set up ahead of time- electric motor, so easily deflated during the day for more space. One trundle bed with two single mattresses or chaise lounge is also sleepable!
The cozy home studio is a perfect size for two people, snug for 4-6, but plenty of space to expand outside!
Coziness include: Fridge, Toaster Oven, microwave & electric kettle (no kitchen sink!), crock pot, dishes, utensils, Wireless Internet and a clawfoot tub for relaxing! Clean sheets/blankets/towels, Amazon Echo, views of trees and hills, No TV, perfect for an off-the-grid rustic local Malibu experience! Please do not book this listing if you are afraid of nature or its creatures. This rustic studio is in the Santa Monica Mountains and you are very likely to hear (or see) coyotes, hawks, roadrunners and bunnies. You may be lucky enough to spot bobcats, quail, hawks, owls, mice (outside). They are usually very shy and won't bother humans, but they are our neighbors! Sometimes ants will decide to take a shortcut through the tiny home studio. They are harmless and do not seek to interact with humans. Do not leave food out for them to devour! (PROTIP: In warm months, we have trash bags for food trash -put in fridge or freezer to keep the ants away.)

The private gravel and dirt driveway and parking spaces, back patio hangout space and studio apartment with full bathroom and kitchenette, is all for your private use. If there is rain (or recent rain), then parking is on the street with a very short walk to cozy home studio. If you prefer to park on the street you can also do that, low cars and luxury cars have parked in our driveway but up to your personal comfort! - NOTE: Please do not walk freely around our property outside of the area described <3 but The views up at the end of the street are EXTRAORDINARY!

Malibu canyon remodeled apartment that is UNDERNEATH AND ATTACHED TO OUR FAMILY HOME--COMPLETELY PRIVATE: private entrance, full kitchen, bedroom, 2 patios, and hot tub. Private mountain views, only 2 miles from PCH and beaches, Pepperdine, shopping. State park land and hikes 5 minutes away without having to go down hill (yes, it is up in the hills/requires driving up the canyon--very quiet and secluded, though in one of the kindest neighborhoods you'll come across ;0)

Please note that the drive from Pacific Coast Highway to our home is 10 minutes of windy, curvy canyon roads and it can be a bit difficult to navigate the first time. We recommend having your directions ready before you turn onto Latigo Canyon Rd, there are a few places on the way up where reception can get lost.
Uber/ride shares and also food deliveries are not options at our home. There are several ways to our home and Google maps tends to direct drivers to a dirt road that is extremely bumpy and is not good for low clearance cars. We have had to go up and rescue several Uber and delivery drivers that renters have tried to arrange. Most of the time they will decline the request, in the few times that they have agreed, we have had to help them when they’ve either gotten lost or stuck.
We lost our home in the Woolsey fire in 2018 and we rebuilt a non-combustible, steel, contemporary home. We are still remodeling parts of the house and redoing the landscaping so the property is not perfect but the work does not impact the guest unit.
