This was one of the most unique properties we’ve stayed at for an extended wine weekend getaway. When we first arrived we were greeted by goats, llamas, and horses, which in my opinion was a wonderful welcome. The property itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed and decorated throughout. You can tell the owner, Jen really put her time and special touch to make the cottage feel like a special getaway for guests. She was so attentive to all our needs/requests, but still maintained a sense of privacy. In addition to the beautiful surroundings and property, there were special treats when we arrived, including a complimentary bottle of wine, delicious manchego cheese, and a basketful of various snacks. The refrigerator was also stocked with drinks, wine, and, our favorite, farm eggs! Although the kitchen is compact we made several meals during our stay with no problem at all and used the grill to cook dinners and roast some fresh vegetables we picked up from Finley Farms just down the road. The location is perfect and central to Santa Ynez Valley wineries, as well as dining options. We visited many wineries throughout the weekend and our furthest drive was under 30 minutes. Although the property is close to everything it’s still private and quiet. We took morning runs and enjoyed passing by farms, horses, grapevines, and other stunning properties. We had an amazing few days and can’t wait to visit Anavo Farm again soon!"

Welcome to a gorgeous Los Olivos private gated hideaway walkable to the downtown area and tasting rooms. This is the ideal California wine country sanctuary to sip delicious wine and relax with a loved one or take an overdue solo self-care adventure.

This rental is not for the entire home. It is a private bedroom, bathroom, jacuzzi, and garden within the home. Guests do not have access to the living room or kitchen. It has a separate entrance and is closed off from the rest of the house, but it is not a detached unit. It shares a wall with the rest of the home, but is extremely quiet and private.

You will wake up in a king bed to the lovely sound of morning birds as you step into a large private garden with fruit and olive trees, outdoor dining table and a meditation area.

Oh and don't forget the private jacuzzi cleaned after every stay!

THE SPACE

The home is right behind the new Auberge Mattei's Tavern, but less than half the price per night and much more private! The entire property is gated and very secure. The room is not a detached unit. You will have your own entrance. The space is extremely quiet and private and has no access to the rest of the house. The garden and jacuzzi are also private. The host lives on the opposite side of the large house.

You will enjoy a very high end King Size mattress, linen sheets, organic cotton towels, a mini-fridge to store wine and beverages, high speed wi-fi, and a wall mounted TV with premium cable and every streaming service.

Other amenities include central air and heat.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. You agree to not use the internet/wifi for any illegal activity.

There is a large chest style Murphy Bed that we did not use. The open concept with the kitchen flows nicely. Also downstairs: Laundry room off kitchen with half bath. We did not do laundry but the area is modern and clean. Having a second bathroom is wonderful. Upstairs bedroom: Wow! Warm, cozy and luxurious!! LOTS of mirrored closet space. Extra pillows and blackets. Really great blanket on lounging chair that can be used downstairs for snuggling while watching TV. Bathroom: Two seperated vanities with sinks and lots of counter space. Plug in lighted make-up mirrror. Large shower with dual shower heads. This is a fab bathroom. Rooftop deck: A circular open metal staircase leads to thee rooftop deck with bartop table seating for morning coffee and evening drinks. The views from here are wonderful, mountain vistas as well as the the town and the windmill. Everything was lit up for Christmas and so festive looking. Our dog would not climb the stairs to the rooftop deck as much as we tried to encourage her. We ate breakfast two times at Brekkies. They have a great outdoor space (dogs allowed) and the best gluten free waffles I've ever had. We would recommend this property!!"

We live in the main house on the hill, and there is a separate guest house on the property that is rented to full-time tenants. Both are just a short walk from the apartment up private driveways.We kindly request that you observe the privacy of the full-time residents. Feel free to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the estate by taking leisurely walks on the main road running through the property. We are in the country and there are bugs and wildlife. At night there is a chance of seeing a raccoon, skunk, deer, opossum, or coyote. They will very rarely approach or even come close. We are surrounded by working vineyards, and ranches, so you may see people on the ranches or in the vineyards throughout the day.

- "This little cottage was perfect to visit family in Solvang. Short walk to downtown. Clean.The only improvements I might mention is a curtain for the entry door and less of whatever room spray they use as it was overwhelming and made our clothes smell like room deodorant. We never received the door code so I had to track down the host, not sure what happened but it worked out fine." - "We loved this property. After discussions with the property manager over text we were able to access the studio with the code provided. It is very clean, though there was a bit much of the smell of bleach on the linens. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The towels were plush, and the shower was clean and warm. A hairdryer, a small fridge, and a Keurig were provided if you wanted coffee. The only two negatives were the remote control batteries for the TV were dead - I did not reach out to remedy this since I had some in my car - and the door had frosted windows at the top, which still allowed bright light through before 6 am... if you are an early waker, no worries! If you want to sleep in a bit, I suggest some type of covering. It is also within walking distance of everything in town. Overall, I would definitely stay again."

- "My friends and I were looking for a comfortable, clean, newer, two-bedroom place to stay in downtown Solvang and stumbled upon this unit. It was absolutely perfect! It was great for hanging out, and it also had two bedrooms with full baths, so we could have a little privacy too. The unit was very modern and clean but still felt very cozy. The patio area outside and parking was a great bonus as well. The unit is only a few minute walk from restaurants, wine tasting rooms and shopping. A custom bar with three seats plus a nook counter table with 2 seats provides plenty of seating for your group. It's the perfect place to dine outside or relax with a glass of wine. Access to the house is easy with two parking spaces in the tandem driveway. Each building on the property is separate, so you will not have anyone staying above you, or sharing a wall. The house is at the very front part of the property and the most private of the three. It best accommodates 4 people, but if you have a child or extra guest, there is a sofa in the living room suitable for a person 5’6” or shorter (no pull out sofa bed). Extra linens are provided. Bedding and towels will be provided, along with toiletries such as soaps, shampoo/conditioner and lotion. We offer EO Products, which are free from synthetic fragrances, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and GMO-free. Our linens and towels are freshly laundered with detergent that is hypoallergenic and contains no dyes, phosphates, ultraviolet brighteners or perfumes. **Please note that Solvang requires a 12% occupancy tax be collected on the rental rate. The tax is based on the nightly rental rate, and not on the cleaning fee. A Transient Occupancy Tax Certificate from the city is on display in the unit.** The house is a private single-story space that has its own entrances (2). The front patio and fenced yard overlooks one of Solvang's main streets, and is for your exclusive use. While your driveway is for your personal vehicles, occasionally owners or other guests may walk through the area to access a gate at the end of the driveway. The back courtyard is available as well, if you'd like to spread out and hang in the garden with a glass of wine or dinner. Use of the common area (Courtyard) are subject to availability, depending on use by owners or other guests. Parking is a cinch in Solvang. You can leave your car right in our driveway, and make your way on foot. If you don't feel like walking, you can rent a surrey cycle for up to 8 people, or rent a fun, motorized golf cart "Moke" to tour the valley. Or, catch a wine tour bus and travel in style to all of your favorite wineries. There is also an Amtrak bus stop two blocks from us, so if you're coming by train, consider making that connection. One block away is Hotel Corque, where you can catch a free shuttle to the Chumash Casino. There are also shuttles to Santa Barbara, LAX and points in-between. **Note - The rental provides two parking spots on the property. If you have more than two vehicles, there is plenty of free street parking with no limitations on time or days of the week. On extra busy weekends, you may have to park further out, but it would be very unusual not to have a spot within one block of the cottage** **Things to note** *The house does not have a formal dining room or dining table. There is seating in the kitchen for 5 people - three on the bar, and 2 more on the counter-height nook table. There is also an outdoor table in the courtyard area which comfortably seats six. *While the communal courtyard area is technically shared with other guests, it has been our experience that it will rarely be used by anyone from the other two cottages. They each have their own patio and tend to stick to those private areas. So it’s very likely that if you want to have a meal at the table with your group, there probably won’t be any conflict with other guests. *We do not allow pets in the house, due to upgraded features like hardwood floors and wool carpeting. However, pets are allowed in our other two units. We ask our guests to follow strict rules when bringing a pet, and during our many years of living on the property, we never had issues with any of the pets, including barking. We also ask pet owners to keep their dogs on a leash while in the courtyard area, and most people adhere to this rule. But you should be aware that you may encounter a dog if you are in any common space, including driveways. *We have been told many times how quiet our property is, and have experienced this ourselves during the time we lived there. But it should be mentioned that the home is directly next door to a hotel and restaurant. So you may hear people chatting on the patio (mostly during warmer months), and at the end of the night they may dump glass bottles into the recycle bin, which can be heard, especially if your windows are open. We also share an alley with Solvang’s wonderful outdoor theater. Recent upgrades have minimized noise coming from the theater, but you can certainly still hear it when outside or when windows are open. During the summer months, there may be plays or musicals, and occasionally concerts. The theater is subject to Solvang’s noise ordinance, and most guests are thrilled to be able to listen. During the day, you will hear pedestrians walking by and talking, riding surrey cycles and laughing, and the horse trolly jingling down the road and an occasional leaf blower. Overall you can expect daytime vibrancy, and very quiet nights with the exception of the above mentioned.

- "Lovely accommodations,modern,bright & impeccably clean. Beds super comfortable. Amenities well planned but a pot holder & strainer would help in kitchen & Kleenex in bathrooms. Electric charger (Tesla) in garage was not compatible with our Rivian vehicle (with a Tesla adapter connector). We had to find charging station off site. Super location to the Village center. "

This cottage is very comfortable and cute. It is rustic but we have AC and heat for every season. The outside has a lovely courtyard with fire pit and string lights. This cottage is very centrally located with Los Olivos just a mile up the road and Solvang 3 miles down the road. There are many wineries in every direction walking distance and a bike ride away. It sleeps two comfortably in our queen size bed. Please let us know the duration of time in which she would like to stay.

The space
This is a rustic historical comfortable cottage. We have AC and heat to keep you comfortable in any season. This cottage has one bedroom with a queen size bed that sleeps two people, one bathroom with a shower, and one living room with a sofa and small dining table, kitchenette and accent chairs. The courtyard includes three outdoor dining areas, a firepit, fountains , string, lighting, and barbecue. There is also ample parking out in front of the Cottages .

-The studio space is roughly 170 square feet, about the size of a small hotel room.
-We have a strict 2-guest maximum policy for this unit, due to its size. It will not be a good fit for folks traveling with an infant or child, or two people who aren’t comfortable with close quarters.
-Parts of the yard and parking area are still under restoration, and so you may notice piles of dirt, empty planters, and fences under completion. We don’t believe this will impact the quality of your stay, and we will not be doing any loud projects, but we think it’s worth mentioning.

The studio is separate from the main house but connected to the garage which is only used as storage space. You may use the patio to relax. Feel free to check out the animals on the other side of the house or take a stroll through the vegetable garden. You may use the microwave, toaster or blender in our outside kitchen, steps away from your room. The studio sleeps 3.

Other things to note
We have a 3 year old Australian Shepherd. There are treats on the table in front of your airbnb. He would love it if you give him something. We fenced part of the backyard off, so he will not be able to jump up on you. You are still able to walk around the garden and check out the goats and chickens, (areas that our dog is not allowed in).
If you enjoy hiking, we have some amazing hikes in the area. I also do guided hiking tours. If you are interested, just let me know ahead of time and I can take you on some scenic hikes.

Solvang, The Danish Capital of America, is known for its shopping and dining throughout California. This spot is also close to local hiking, golfing and additional Santa Ynez Valley sightseeing. If you’re looking for a little adventure and whimsy, The Pendleton suite should be your next stop. Decorated in fun, yet classic camping theme, it’s perfect for two people and a dog. Features a queen sized medium-firm Lucid memory foam mattress with 250 thread count linens and comfortable pillows of varying styles. The kitchen provides a perfect spot to make coffee and breakfast in the morning, or a full dinner in the evening. An ample sized retro-style fridge with freezer and microwave complement the red Marmoleum (eco-friendly vintage style) floors, camping themed wallpaper, and coordinating brass fixtures. The newly remodeled bathroom has a brand new large walk-in shower and a small commode cubby. If you’re staying in for the night, a smart TV is provided for streaming (Netflix included) using our high speed Wifi. You can comfortably take a meal indoors at the table for two. Brand new heating and air will keep you comfortable any time of year.

If you prefer hanging outside, you can keep to yourselves and enjoy your private patio space with outdoor table and chairs, or take advantage of the communal yard space. Here you’ll find plenty of seating, a gas fire pit, native and drought tolerant planting, and a few hammock chairs for relaxing.

The entire property is shared with other vacation rental units (a house on the front side, and four cottages on the back side, including yours). Your cottage has its own fenced patio space (open on one side), and there is a common yard with a gas fire pit that you and other guests are welcome to use. There is a walkway that leads to the front of the property and gives you access to Alisal Road or you may exit the property on 1st St. as well.

Parking is easy and within feet of your cottage. The surface of the parking area is made of decomposed granite, which is a firm and even surface, making it easy to roll suitcases. However, during rain events, the surface may be less firm.

Other things to note
It’s important to us that you are well-informed about the cottage before booking. Below are a few important things to note about the Pendleton Suite and Roaming Gnome Property:

-The studio space is roughly 300 square feet, about the size of a spacious hotel room.
-Strict two person maximum including children and infants. Note that there is no sofa or second sleeping accommodation.

-Parts of the yard and parking area are still under restoration, and so you may notice piles of dirt, empty planters, and fences under completion. We don’t believe this will impact the quality of your stay, and we will not be doing any loud projects while you are there, but we think it’s worth mentioning.

This is a studio unit (~ 555 sq ft) with a queen murphy bed. The unit has a kitchenette, bathroom, living room/dining area, clothes washer/dryer and small outside patio.

Guests can enjoy the on-site outdoor swimming pool, hot tub, fitness center and game room.

The guest checking in at the front desk must 21 years of age or older. Others accompanying the primary guest can be under 21 years old.

There is a $250 refundable deposit due upon check in to the front desk to cover any damages to the room (credit card only).

Parking is limited, and the resort is not able to accommodate the storage of boats, RVs, and trailers.

Since the Worldmark Solvang is a timeshare property, you may be invited to a presentation. There is no obligation for you to attend, and you politely decline if offered.

- Tenants shall use and maintain the Worldmark Solvang a careful and lawful manner and shall not create noise or disturbances likely to disturb or annoy other tenants. The Tenant affirms they will follow all policies and rules of the resort, as notified upon arrival and occupancy of the unit, including check-out time, as many resorts assess a fee for late check-out.

- Under no circumstance will the Tenant permit pets of any kind in the unit.

- The Tenant accepts all responsibilities for any damages to the unit or Worldmark Solvang property during the rental period by Tenant or Tenant's guests.

- The Tenant hereby indemnifies and holds the Owner harmless against any and all claims of personal injury, illness or property damage or loss of any kind arising from use of the Worldmark Solvang regardless of the nature of the accident, injury or loss

Welcome to your new home in the heart of Solvang!

This very private and scenic neighborhood offers the perfect blend of convenience and charm. Just minutes away, you'll find a variety of great restaurants, Danish bakeries serving mouthwatering pastries, cozy wine-tasting rooms featuring world-class local wines, quaint boutiques, filled unique treasures, golf courses, grocery stores, pharmacies and banks, all nestled within Solvang's fairly-tale Danish village atmosphere.

Our house is within a private community filled with trees, flowers and rolling hills all around.

Guest access
As you enter the driveway, your parking spot will be immediately to the left of the car port. This is wheelchair accessible and a rather wide spot. To enter the unit, walk straight along the path forward after parking, then the first door on the right will be the unit (Look for the small frog statue).

We ask that you do not go into the backyard to the right of the carport, and behind the house by the hill.
The shed in the driveway is also off limits. Feel free to enjoy the area in front of the unit, including the trail leading to the bridge. The set of wooden stairs to the left of the shed is off-limits as well.

Please don't use any other doors than the one for the unit (Yours is next to the front door).

Just to be clear, the door to the right of the carport is our door.

This 520 square foot studio apartment is very private and has all the amenities you will need to enjoy your stay in our peaceful town. Walk to the grocery store or hop in your car for a quick drive to wineries. Stay and enjoy the fully equipped kitchen or have an outdoor BBQ under the pergola.

The space
The studio is attached to our main house but is completely private with it's own separate private entrance. It is one great room that has a full kitchen, queen bed, love seat couch, and Smart TV. A short hallway leads to the bathroom, making it very private There is a private patio with pergola, outdoor table, sectional sofa, and a grill. This is a great spot for your next weekend getaway.

There is a fully enclosed private patio area which features an outdoor grill/BBQ as well as seating for two.

Please note there is a 14% transient occupancy tax in addition to all nightly, cleaning, and security fees for stays less than 31 nights. Airbnb will calculate these fees and add them to your total. We are registered with Santa Barbara County and are permitted to collect these taxes on their behalf.

We recommend purchasing travelers insurance, as our cancellation policy is strict.

Lovely apartment above garage with private deck. The bnb is attached to our home (where we live) and has its own entrance. Amenities include a queen bed, small kitchenette, dining area, den with pull out queen sofa bed, living area sofa in front of fire, laundry, and full bathroom. The approx. 500 square foot apartment is located in a quiet and peaceful area, however, this is a neighborhood and you will get the occasional 8:00am leaf blower, Friday am trash pick up, the school bell, and chicken and donkey noises in the distance. We cannot accept reservations made on behalf of other people, and only registered guests should be on the premises. Sorry, we do not allow smoking, parties and/or pets.

Walkable Ballard:
From Garden Street, turn right to walk the Ballard flats, viewing our 1883 Ballard School…still in session. Loop back to Baseline, turn left and walk path at base of the hill past (or through) cemetery to Still Meadow. Walkers can enjoy views from both directions on Still Meadow Rd.
The Ballard Inn on Baseline hosts the award winning Gathering Table restaurant and is a 5 minute walk.

Scenic drives/hikes:
Foxen Canyon Road, part of the Wine Trail, takes you to several vineyards and tasting rooms, turn onto Alisos Canyon Rd. to the cute town of Los Alamos with plenty of foodie options. (Bob’s Well Bread, Flatbread Pizza, PICO, Plenty on Bell, Charlie’s).

Figueroa Mountain Road to just past Midland School, park after hair pin turn and hike Lover’s Loop. Trailhead and sign in book just across street. Road will continue up and over mountain to Happy Canyon Rd. (1.5 hour) back to the valley. Or, return the way you came, noting former Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch entrance with notes/graffiti along walls at gate, across from Midland.

Alisal Road left through Solvang and backroad to Nojoqui Falls and then Hwy 101 South. Take exit for Gaviota Beach State Park just after rest stop. Pay to park or veer right up hill to park above beach for free. Trailhead to Gaviota Windcaves is at upper parking, or you can walk along same road towards (the) Hollister Ranch, or along the beach if low tide.

Drive Ballard Canyon Road which runs from Buellton to Los Olivos. Great views, buffalos, and wineries.

Los Olivos Crawl:
Carhartt and Coquelicot tasting rooms among others, Lemonade Pop-up. Lunch at Panino’s (great picnic to go) and/or dinner at Sides, Los Olivos Café, or Bear and Star. Shopping at Avec Moi and J. Woeste.

Santa Ynez Western town:
SY Kitchen or Brother’s at the Red Barn are both excellent. Dos Carlitos for Mexican. Ellie’s Tap and Vine is a new, popular spot.

The Roaming Gnome Guest Ranch is a modern take on Solvang’s historic Danish culture. Mid-century cottages are freshly renovated and decorated in happy, bright tones, fun kitsch, and clean comfort. Located two short blocks from Solvang’s famous windmill and the main drag Copenhagen, you’ll find easy access to shopping, wine tasting and some of the best restaurants in Santa Barbara county. Parking is provided on-site, so you’ll be able to ditch the wheels and walk anywhere in town within minutes.

The space
The Lemon Drop room got its name for a reason; It's for anyone looking for a fun and easy, bright and cheerful spot to relax. It’s perfect for a couple and features a queen medium-firm Lucid memory foam mattress with 250 thread count cotton sheets and comforter and comfortable pillows of varying styles. The kitchenette provides a perfect spot to make coffee in the morning, or prepare a charcuterie board in the evening. An ample sized retro-style fridge with freezer and microwave compliment the yellow Marmoleum (eco-friendly vintage style) floors, cherry wood countertops and coordinating stainless fixtures. The newly remodeled bathroom has a brand new large walk-in shower and a small commode cubby. If you’re staying in for the night, a smart TV is provided for streaming (Netflix included) using our high speed Wifi. You can comfortably take a meal indoors at the bar table for two. Brand new heating and air will keep you comfortable any time of year.

If you prefer hanging outside, you can keep to yourselves and enjoy your private patio space with outdoor table and chairs, or take advantage of the communal yard space. Here you’ll find plenty of seating, native and drought tolerant planting, and a few hammock chairs for relaxing.

The entire property is shared with other vacation rental units (a house on the front side, and four cottages on the back side, including yours). Your cottage has its own fenced patio space (open on one side), and there is a common yard that you and other guests are welcome to use. There is a walkway that leads to the front of the property and gives you access to Alisal Road or you may exit the property on 1st St. as well.

Parking is easy and within feet of your cottage. The surface of the parking area is made of decomposed granite, which is a firm and even surface, making it easy to roll suitcases. However, during rain events, the surface may be less firm.

Other things to note
It’s important to us that you are well-informed about the cottage before booking. Below are a few important things to note about the Lemon Room and Roaming Gnome Property:

-The studio space is roughly 170 square feet, about the size of a small hotel room.
-We have a strict 2-guest maximum policy for this unit, due to its size. It will not be a good fit for folks traveling with an infant or child, or two people who aren’t comfortable with close quarters.
-Parts of the yard and parking area are still under restoration, and so you may notice piles of dirt, empty planters, and fences under completion. We don’t believe this will impact the quality of your stay, and we will not be doing any loud projects, but we think it’s worth mentioning.
