Pleasant Valley Trails is part of Shelton's 28 mile trail system. Yet, we are only a short drive (14- 15 miles) to Bridgeport or New Haven, and close to fresh water or salt water beaches.

There had been a leak in the roof by the bathroom in the hallway that needs repair. Lots of space inside with a very large eat-in kitchen. Washer and dryer worked great. — NO SMOKING: We have a very strict no-smoking policy (strictly no use of cannabis, e-cigarettes, tobacco, or anything alike). Any traces of smoking inside the property will result in a penalty of $1,000.

— PUT TRASH IN BAG: Unbagged trash is extremely hard to take out and will be subject to an extra cleaning fee of $100.

— PET RULES: Please pick up waste from pets. Damage caused by pets will be subject to replacement costs. $250 per pet fee for any non-disclosed pets brought on the property.

— NO PARTIES OR EVENTS: Maximal number of guests allowed is 3. $500 fine against the rule. Cops will be called and legal actions will be taken if you host an event or throw a party at our property. Groups of visitors and party-size visitors are not allowed. Please ask for approval if you have visitors, and fees for additional guests will apply.

— QUIET HOURS: 8 pm to 8 am. Keep outside noise low during this time, and please move conversations inside. The home is located in a family setting and is only suitable for families, business professionals, and quieter groups. Please be respectful of the owners and the neighbors. Loud, late-night disturbances will be fined $500 accordingly.

— Exterior security cameras monitoring in place.

— Late checkout is not allowed.

- "Perfect setting for our family as we celebrated a college graduation locally. Great location. Home has many amenities and you cannot beat lake living! Trying to think about a reason we can return. ;-)" - "We were a group of 11 and we had plenty of room to be together or for people to have their own space. We spent most of our time swimming in the lake or on the incredible patio. The counters, cupboards and refrigerators had a lot of stuff in/on them so it was difficult to find room for our stuff, but we made it work. We couldn't figure out how to control the a/c but whatever it was set at was comfortable. "

- "Check in was all messed up because Owner sent bad info and pictures to our duplex neighbor, essentially booking both of us to the same unit. It was embarrassing showing up at our unit only to find another family already there. Wasn't that family's fault. Owner sent old pictures to them and a door code that worked in both units. We ended up taking their unit instead. Owner offered us a tidy $20 discount for the inconvenience (never received). These units are bare-bones. The pictures in the Kitchen and the Family Rooms look good, but there is virtually no furniture besides beds in the bedrooms. One bedroom had a TV on the wall and one small side table. No dressers or anywhere but the floor for luggage and clothes, and no closet. The second bedroom had a closet, a small little desk to put a suitcase on and that's it. No TV. The bathroom was small and fine, but it had the only mirror (small) in the whole unit. Girls don't like that! Lastly, the cheap vinyl mini blinds stream in sunshine in the morning --- very cheap. Wouldn't stay here again."

We arrived after it had been raining for days and the owner was quick to help with any issues we had. The small deck off the kitchen was perfect for our small grandchildren. House is off of a side road that doesn’t have a lot of traffic, but there are no sidewalks etc Homeowner was very gracious!! Had delicious jam in fridge, Tide pods for washing and plenty of paper products and towels, even ice cream in the freezer! We had a great time with our daughter and her family!"

- "Comfortable and well-supplied studio. Responsive and friendly host. We were visiting friends and a local museum in the area. This location met our needs just right. We didn’t need to cook much, because we ate at our friends’ house, but the kitchen had all the basic supplies one would need to cook full meals. We were able to easily make breakfast and coffee/tea. The studio is a nice size. I had plenty of room for yoga in the center of the room, without feeling that I was in the way. It’s a basement studio with some windows and plenty of lights to brighten up the space. The entry is tucked in the backyard of the house - it felt safe and comfortable. "
