- "Let me first say that I don't normally write reviews, but this one needed to be done because exceeded my expectations. My friend and I were on vacation in Michigan. The last few days we were in Mt. Pleasant(my home town) visiting my sister. We are not big in staying at hotels because they just seemed confined and limited. I was so happy when I found this house to rent! Barry is an amazing host. The house was impeccable!!! Super clean, nicely decorated and furnished amazingly. On Mother's day, I was able to invite my family over to celebrate. We used the gas grill, outdoor fireplace and had wonderful time playing cards at the big table. Barry should be praised for his attention to every detail in making sure our stay was comfortable. He thinks of everything! We were on our last leg of our trip so it was so helpful to be able to do our laundry with detergent and softener included! I couldn't believe it. We had already stopped at the store to pick up what needed for laundry but he had it all there for us. The list is endless.....games to play, coffee, creamer, water, popcorn, ketchup and mustard packets, salt, pepper, you name it he provided it! High quality sheets and towels. Bathrooms were supplied with shampoo and soap. My favorite part was the note he left explaining certain details of the house and welcoming us there. So cool! He also just had a new heating/air system installed and that kept us warm in the colder evenings. I can tell that he prides himself in making sure everyone who visits this house get the highest quality of service. Top notch!!!!! Thanks Barry."

- "Right downtown near the restaurants, shops and nightlight -- but still a peaceful stay. Close enough to Central Michigan campus to walk. Property was clean, comfy and the host was great! Reasonable house rules, easy check-out process. Although we never had time to use it, wi-fi and very nice screen viewing options in living room and both bedrooms. We were in town for a family event, and just needed extra places to sleep and a warm spot to gather our small group between outings - it met our needs very well. Generally quiet area, although could hear neighbors in other half of house, and some music coming from a nearby venue fairly late on weekend nights. Still, quieter and so much more pleasant and home-like than any hotel!"

Included are all the dishes, pots and pans, silverware and utensils, plates and cups (and the wine glasses!) to make your stay enjoyable. Also included are paper plates and solo cups if you don't want to be bothered with doing dishes.
If you would like to grill, there is a gas grill provided, along with grill tools and aluminum foil.

No need to worry about bringing your bathroom supplies as we provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap for you.
All of your towels (including beach towels), blankets, linens, comforters, and pillows are ready for your use.

Also included are 4 campfire roasting sticks and firestarters for you to use at either of the 2 firepits. Firewood is provided with rental, and is located near both firepits for your convienence!

Paddle the kayaks, cruise the lake with the pedal boat included in rental April thru September, or enjoy the wildlife as you hike the nature preserve trails around the lake. Many sizes and styles of lifejackets are provided for the boats.

Bring binoculars as there are a resident pair of eagles that nest on the North side of the lake and can be seen diving for fish during the day.

You may want to bring your fishing pole as you can fish from the dock or shore, or jump in the pedal boat or kayak and fish from there! Lake contains many fish species including bass, pike, walleye, crappie, catfish, and blue gills. Several bait stores are in the area.

There are many outdoor seating areas, including 2 dining areas, and several outdoor games for you to use.

For indoor times, there are books, puzzles, games, and cards, or enjoy all your streaming apps on the Roku TV with wifi.

Fall is absolutely amazing here and Winter doesn't stop us either at the Hi-Ho! We provide snow removal, salt and a shovel at the door if needed, and the road to the cabin is maintained by county snow plows. Nothing says cozy like sitting by a fireplace with snow coming down all around you!

The Hi-Ho cabin is located 20 minutes from Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt Pleasant, Michigan. They have some amazing concerts there! Check online for schedules.

Our quiet country area has many family style restaurants, antique and resale shops, a great local grocery store, and a local apple orchard with an amazing free petting zoo, ice cream shop, donuts, fresh produce, pumpkin picking, and hay rides. We love it there!
There are lots of places to hike, cross country ski, disc and regular golf nearby, and the lake itself has hiking trails on a nature preserve.
Mt. Pleasant is only 20 minutes away for any retail shopping you require or if you are looking for any type of restaurant or something to do.

Please, no pets ( other than service animals) as I have 2 rescue dogs that are reactive to strange dogs. Thank you!

This is a perfect couples getaway where you feel very private yet only a couple miles from downtown Clare. Oh, how my heart yearns for you" A trip with Peggy Sue is just what you need away from all the commotion of everyday life. She may be small but she is fierce. Enjoy a cozy atmosphere in our quaint backyard. Guests will have access to our entire backyard and their own private bathroom in our home.

The space
Peggy Sue is an old girl so she's perfect for guests who admire antique pieces with lots of character. Please be aware that you will be camping outside in a backyard so you might find the occasional fly or spider that might want to come say hello! The bed in the camper is a twin sized bed so preferably two people that don't mind cuddling up or a single person is better.

Another thing to note is that our wifi signal isn't as strong in Peggy Sue, you're more than welcome to use our porch area if you have any urgent work that needs to be done on the internet as the wifi is much stronger there. Or, we're just a couple of blocks away from the local library that provides guests with free access to their wifi!

Guest suite has 1,800 square feet in the lower level of our home. Hosts live upstairs. A shared entryway leads into your own private space. There is a bathroom, bedroom, multiple common areas, and kitchenette.

We are located at the edge of the city, close to downtown Mt. Pleasant and just minutes from CMU and the casino.

While it is close to many attractions, the house feels tucked away into the woods. The back of the house has a wooded area and has great spaces to relax and unwind.

The space
Unbelievable value with over 1,800 square feet of private space. You won’t believe how much room there is until you see it. We furnish our space with the things that we have appreciated during our own travels. We hope that our space meets your needs and makes your trip even more enjoyable!

CHECK IN:
The space shares an entryway off the garage with the main house. Keypad is available at the entrance for self check in. No need to keep track of a key during your trip! One off-street parking space is available.

Guests then enter the lower level suite complete with a private living room, dining area, kitchenette, three-quarter bathroom, and bedroom.

BEDROOM:
The bedroom is tucked away in the corner of the lower level. The space has a pillow top queen size bed. Electric blanket and fan are available for use.

KITCHEN:
Kitchenette has a full wet bar with a sink, mini fridge, Keurig (K-Cups provided), hot plate, microwave, dishwasher, table, and bar. An Instant Pot and other small appliances are also available for your use. A stove/oven is not available.

LIVINGROOM:
The living room has a huge projector with DishNetwork, Netflix, and more available. You can also sign in to your own subscriptions through the AppleTV. Two couches and several deluxe recliners are perfect to unwind after traveling or enjoying the city. Guests also have access to high-speed WiFi during their stay.

BATHROOM:
Enjoy privacy with a newly remodeled three-quarter bathroom. The bathroom is raised from the floor and therefore has a lower ceiling clearance compared to the rest of the space. The single standing shower may not be comfortable for guests taller than 6 feet. Soft towels, shampoo, and small toiletries are provided.

A unique feature of the home is the expansive deck and outdoor grilling spaces. Guests have access to the backyard through the shared entryway. Come out and relax in the hammock and outdoor seating. Grill out on a Blackstone gas grill, wood fire grill, or built in smoker. Sit around the campfire and roast s’mores. Area is lit well and can be used during the day or evening.

There are two storage rooms in the space that guests are not allowed access to.

For the safety of us and the guests, we do have exterior security cameras. There are no security cameras within the living space.

The 480 sq feet guest suite in the lower level of our private home, was previously occupied by our college-age daughter. THE EMPTY NEST includes a sleeping area, sitting area with a Roku TV, laptop-friendly workspace with wireless internet, a kitchenette, and a private full bath with a tub/shower. There is a private entrance stairwell from the driveway.

The space
This spacious, newly refreshed, and furnished suite is light, airy, comfortable, and quiet. The comfortable sleeping area with a queen-size bed and desk can be separated from the living space by pulling the ceiling-hung curtains closed. The living/eating/kitchenette areas have the conveniences of home in an inviting, stylish setting.
Notes- The heating system does not have air ducts shared with our private home and has an independent thermostat control. This unit does have a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster oven but does NOT have a stove or kitchen sink. The stairway access makes this space not handicap accessible for a wheelchair. See the photos. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on our property. Sorry, no pets allowed.

The Empty Nest Guest Suite is a separate space from our private home. We can arrange a contactless check-in and check-out. The Space:
Bedroom has 1 Queen Bed and a reading chair that offers a gorgeous view of the lake. If you are working away from home, there is a desk and comfy chair where you can see the lake!

Main living area has a fold down sofa, cozy lounge chair and footstool, a dining table and chairs, Roku TV for all your streaming services, and WI-FI. For time indoors, there are board games, cards, books, and puzzles.

Window A/C unit and fans keep the space cool, as well as a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Or if it's warm and cozy you are looking for, turn on the gas fireplace in the main living area and snuggle in.

Kitchen features a refrigerator/freezer, large air fryer/convection oven, 2-burner cook top, microwave, toaster, blender, crockpot, and all the dishes and pots and pans needed to make a delicious meal, including utensils for the grill and wine glasses for your perfect pairings!

Also provided are a drip coffee maker and a hot water kettle. Coffee, several teas, hot chocolate and snacks are stocked for your enjoyment.

To make your stay as worry free as possible...Paper towels, paper plates, some seasonings, aluminum foil, charcoal, trash bags, cleaning supplies, etc., are ready and available.

There is a full bathroom with low profile shower and handrail to help with access. Never run out of hot water with an on-demand hot water heater!

Towels, shampoo/ conditioner, body wash, hand soap, a hair dryer, and iron are provided for you.

April thru October, there are 2 kayaks/paddles and a 4 person pedal boat available for your use. Also provided are a variety of children and adult life jackets.

Fishing can be done off the dock or shoreline, so be sure to bring your fishing gear! There are bait stores in the area.

Bring binoculars for fantastic wildlife viewing as you relax at the cabin or hike the trails around the lake. We have a resident pair of eagles that frequent the lake to fish, an amazing site to see!
One entire end of the lake is a nature preserve that has hiking trails and benches in the woods, along with a rich and interesting history about the area at the start of the trails.

Cook the days catch and watch the stars at the firepit by the lake, or cozy up at the firepit behind the cabin. Firewood is provided for your use, and is located near both fire pits. Also provided are roasting sticks and lawn chairs.

No need to worry about grilling! We have a gas grill and grill tools here for you!

The Hi-Ho is located in Central Michigan, only 20 minutes from Soaring Eagle Casino.
Mt. Pleasant offers a wide variety of restaurants and shopping for your convenience, or there is a great local grocery store and a restaurant/tavern only 6 miles away.

This is a two bedroom apartment with a Lake view. Public access is a short walk to the beach. Bring your fishing boat or pontoon. Access for boats is available for a fee through the county park right next door. Visit in the winter for great ice fishing. Two kayaks are available for use upon request. The home is 825 sq feet with log interior, cathedral ceilings and hardwood floors. The entrance is through the kitchen which offers ample counter space, plenty of cupboard storage, a dining table, coffee bar, new gas stove, refrigerator, and coat rack with bench.

The living room/dining room has new area rugs, electric fireplace, dining table for 4, comfortable seating, 42" smart TV, WIFI, and a dedicated workspace area with desk that can also be used as a mini bar/serving area.

Each bedroom has a queen size 10" memory foam gel mattress, 1800 thread count comfy sheets, a dresser, nightstand and closet.

We can accommodate up to 6 guests if a queen size air mattress in the living room (how Airbnb originated) is acceptable. Also a sofa but not a sleeper sofa.

The laundry room has a new washer and dryer, folding table and storage space with access to the backyard.

The space
A very quiet and private home all to yourself, without any surrounding neighbors. You'll have a view that overlooks the river and Island Park. There are 3 bedrooms; Two of the rooms have Queen beds. The other has a Bunk over Full. Each bedroom has two luggage racks (a total of 6) if needed. If not, they can be folded up and tucked away. There is an additional XL Twin mattress stored under the bunk and can be pulled out easily if needed. Please do not sleep on the couch. A foldable, portable crib is available upon request. Max guests is 8 people.

There is 1 Full Bathroom and a full kitchen with all the amenities. We have a 'Duo Keurig', for all those coffee drinkers, which comes stocked with some Keurig pods, sugar, and Regular & French Vanilla Creamer. We also have a kettle for those tea drinkers, along with a few variety tea packets. Our sink is installed with a Reverse Osmosis system, and we also have an installed garbage disposal. The dining room includes a table with 6 chairs, and the living room has a 3-person couch, two side chairs, and a 65" Smart TV. You can sign into your streaming channel of choice. There is a full washer and dryer in the basement of the home which is available if guests need it.

The outdoor patio area comes with a gas fire table and 4 cushioned chairs. We have one swing that seats 3 and can also be moved over by the fire-table creating a space for 7. If more lawn chairs are needed, please let us know and we can provide those for you.

From the property, you can take a 5-minute walk to both Island Park and Downtown Mt. Pleasant. Downtown Mt. Pleasant has a variety of shops, restaurants, entertainment, and beauty stores that can fill your entire stay with enough to do that you never have to drive anywhere. If you do drive anywhere, maybe it's the casino or CMU, it's only a 5-10 minute drive. We do have 2 bikes available to rent for an additional $20 extra per bike, per stay. Please let hosts know in advance.

Our keyless, smart lock entry makes your stay even more private because you can come and go as you please. You will receive your unique code 1-2 days prior to your arrival making checking in and out very seamless.
