We are located just outside Tenkiller State Park, Pine Cove Marina, and Clearwater Cafe restaurant on the water. We are walking distance to Big Daddy's Restaurant & Ice Cream Cove right on the dam. Enjoy the serene woodland view from the back deck or grill out while you & your loved ones create core memories gathered around the fire pit.

The living room has plentiful space & black out curtains allowing for our provided 2 queen-sized inflatable mattresses to be made up for larger groups (linens provided).

The kitchen is fully equipped with a magnitude of appliances, some spices, cooking utensils, baking dishes/sheets, pots & pans, and dishes ready for a full meal to be prepared - if you choose. Under the sink you'll find some cleaning supplies and dish detergent.

Relax in the master bedroom on the queen bed with 100% cotton sheets and black out curtains. Utilize the luggage rack to keep your luggage off the floor. You may unpack your things into the dresser or hang some items on the rack outside the locked owner's closet. The master has a TV with Dish. Your own bathroom has a tub & shower combo.

The spare bedroom also has a queen bed with 100% cotton sheets, a luggage rack, and large closet. In the closet you will find plenty of hanging space and 2 inflatable air mattresses with extra bedding, blankets, and pillows. The spare bedroom has in-room access to the extra full bathroom with tub & shower combo.

We do have laundry on-site that is free for our guests to use during their stay. A few laundry pods are provided.

Our guests will enjoy our front & back private decks equipped with ample seating, open & expansive living room & kitchen space, two bedrooms, two full bathrooms with tubs & showers, open backyard that backs up to protected forest, charcoal grill and firepit with seating. The only areas off limits to our guests are the master closet, utility closet in kitchen, and double cabinet doors at our welcome & beverage center in the kitchen. Our little cabin is perfect for families. Secluded in the woods only a mile from a Dollar General and convince store. The master bedroom features a queen bed with ample closet space. The other bedroom has twin bunk beds with a ladder to the top bunk that kids love. The futon in the living room is new, and folds out to a comfy full sized bed. The master bedroom has a DVD player and the living room television has DirectTV with a DVD player.
The kitchen has a refrigerator, oven, pots , pans, dishes , glasses, dishwasher, and microwave; every comfort of home. The bathroom has an enclosed shower.

The pool and waterfall were the perfect respite to the heat. The grand children loved the pool and the outdoor playground and trails. The Iris Cottage is the perfect getaway for families. The home sits on a large peaceful corner in Paradise Hill with close proximity to Strayhorn Marina, Fin & Feather Resort and Soda Steve’s restaurant. The home boasts a large tranquil deck with an outdoor table that seats 8 and makes for a great place to gather while the pellet smoker prepares dinner. There is also an outdoor tv under the covered section of the deck. With 3 BR’s and 3 BA, there should be plenty of room for playing games, relaxing, or spending time with friends & family. There is a DVD player in the master bedroom and the living room with many great movie classics to choose from. If you can’t find a movie, the kids may opt for the Wii and have a Guitar Hero challenge.

Letting the kids play in the water a bit at Gooseneck south right down the street was very enjoyable. If we come back out this way we will definitely stay here again."

Tenkiller Ferry Lake:

The fishing at Lake Tenkiller is fantastic. This 13,000-acre lake is a haven for largemouth and spotted bass, and in the spring, you can catch white bass as they make their annual spawning run into the lake’s headwaters. MarVal Resort, on the Lower Illinois River below the Tenkiller dam, is the place to catch rainbow trout.

Boating is another option and even if you don’t own a boat, you can still have boating fun at Lake Tenkiller. Several of Lake Tenkiller's marinas rent pontoon and ski boats, and personal watercraft such as Jet Skis.

Swimming beaches are found at both of Lake Tenkiller’s state parks and are popular with summer visitors.

If you prefer to experience the lake from beneath the water’s surface. Lake Tenkiller State Park is home to a dedicated scuba park and Nautical Adventures Scuba in Cookson offers dive air, equipment sales and rental, scuba courses and dive tours. Diving here is particularly enjoyable because of Tenkiller’s clear water.

Along with its excellent fishing, Lake Tenkiller offers visitors world-class bird watching opportunities. Songbirds and waterfowl are lakeside favorites, while bald eagle viewing is a popular wintertime activity at the nearby Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge. Guided eagle and loon tours take place most Saturdays from January through March.

Lake Tenkiller State Park has a terrific nature center, which is the site of numerous activities and exhibits. The nature center often offers programs on bird watching, plant identification, and animal species and habitats.

There are several hiking and nature trails located around the lake, including the Overlook Nature Trail at the Tenkiller dam, and the Buzzard Roost Trail at Cato Creek Landing that comprise the Tenkiller State Park Trail System.

Hunting:
Hunting opportunities are abundant around Tenkiller. This area is ranked 2nd in Oklahoma for number of deer taken during deer season. Project lands are open for public hunting, except for developed recreational areas and lands in the vicinity of the dam and other project structures. Approximately 2,590 acres of project land are licensed to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife conservation for a State Game Management Area. An additional attraction is the Gruber Public Hunting Area and the Cherokee Game Refuge on old Camp Gruber near the western shore of the lake. Combined, the areas make up over 68,000 acres of public hunting ground.

Principal game species include whitetail deer, bobwhite quail, mourning dove, duck, geese, cottontail rabbit, and squirrel.

A charming cottage built in 1912. Our house is perfect for you while you vacation at the lake, fish on the river, just sit on the porch, soak up the WiFi or visit friends and family. There is room to hang out together or spread out. A pull through drive long enough for your boat or trailer. Small town, restaurants, coffee shop, shopping and minutes from Lake Tenkiller, Arkansas and Illinois rivers, Tenkiller State Park, Greenleaf State Park.

Great for a couple or a family who want to enjoy the privacy and peacefulness of the woods. Less than 200 yards to the lake through the woods or 2 miles to a marina with day slips and boat rentals. There's a Dollar General less than a mile from the cabin.

The space
There is an outside security camera on the front deck which can be turned off with light switch on the inside wall.

The Living area has two swivel/rocking chairs and a futon couch with an electric fire place, along with cable TV and Wifi.

Kitchen is fully equipped with Full size refrigerator w/ice maker, micro wave dishwasher, Full size electric stove w/oven, dishes and pans. It is fully equipped.

Master bedroom has a queen bed with TV and DVR player.

second bedroom has two twin beds.

Guest access
If needed there is a key located on a nail on the upper right hand side of the back door.

If you will email, I will provide directions and other information you need as GPS doesn't always direct you to the exact location.

Other things to note
The cabin is in the woods and I highly recommend you bring insect repellent especially if you plan to explore the woods or walk to the lake.

Escape to a river landscape on a private 5 acre lot (a new cabin coming) with private access to the Illinois River, renowned for rainbow trout. Fishing is available all seasons on a stocked river. Private access with a beautiful walk to a private water access for the family. Newly renovated cabin offers traditional cabin esthetics with amenities, wild game mounts, antique lighting, and furniture. Trout River Lodge offers family-friendly retreat for 8-12 people or nice couples getaway adventure.

Please provide your own poles. We have provided them but guests mistake them for their poles.


Master bedroom consists of Queen size bed with 55 Mini LED TV
upstairs open Loft consist of 2 queen beds, 2 full size beds and fold out couch with a 48" OLED tv
Living room has a sectional couch where two people could sleep with 55" OLED TV and wall taxidermy including an elk, deer, canvas back ducks and mallards.
Full size bath room with Jacuzzi tub and full shower and laundry room.

Guest access
Guests can use all parts of the Cabin including utility room with washer and dryer. Please bring your own fishing equipment.

Other things to note
Cabin has gas stovetop, propane cooker and electric smoker. Full kitchen with island. 6 seat solid cherry restoration hardware table. High speed wifi for oled 4k tv viewing. Large brick paver base with brick mortar 45” fire-pit installed with adirondack chairs. 10 ft picnic table and back porch with table seating, partial covered back porch with covered tv with soundbar perfect for fall football and outdoor music. There is an older fire pit in the wooden area.

We kindly ask that you treat the property and its belongings with care so future guests can enjoy it just as much. Please report any accidental damages promptly. Thank you for helping us maintain a great space for everyone!
