Spectacular Catskill Mountain Vacation home on 40 + Acres adjacent to Catskill Creek. This five thousand square foot home offers 8 bedrooms, 5 baths with 2 master suites and a gourmet kitchen with an open floor plan easily accommodating a family gathering. Located 20 minutes from Windham Mountain and 30 minutes from Hunter Mountain. Easily accessible from major highways, the home is located less than 30 minutes from the New York State Thruway off Route 23. In addition, immediate proximity to Catskill Mountain area activities, ie. Howe Caverns and Zoom Flume water park.

Everyone was pleasantly surprised when we arrived, the pictures really don't do justice to how large and beautiful the house is, particularly the downstairs living room/kitchen area. The backyard is also massive. The two master bedrooms are very large as well, and the other bedrooms were spacious as well. House is very clean, feels new, and central air conditioning controlled by Nest was great for the summer heat! Plenty of cookware and utensils, double oven, plus the grill meant we had no problem cooking for a large group. Plenty of bathrooms as well, no issues there. Lisa was super communicative and responsive, was able to answer all my questions with ease, and accommodate any issues we had such as early arrivals. The only (very minor) things to be aware of... these were NOT problems, just something I felt should be included in the house documentation: -Bring your own charcoal if you plan to use the grill, it's not a gas grill (and a lighter) -Bring your own firewood for fire pit as well as anything you think you need to get fire going -Bring laundry detergent as well if you plan on washing clothes/towels -I think you need to bring an AUX cord to play music in the main living room (though admittedly I didn't ask Lisa about how it might work otherwise)"

Our gentle country breeze keeps pests away and keeps you comfortable from the swelter off the hill. Summer bon fires are the best, friends, s’mores and sky above filled with mesmerizing stars that seem reachable, a site you’ll remember. For the adventurous you’ll find the best hiking for all levels from as close as 10 minutes away. Zoom Flume water park is 10 minutes away. 15 minutes to horseback riding, golf, lake swimming and many other activities. Paddle boarding and kayak rentals are also close by or if you prefer don’t leave at all. Most of our guests come with plans and end up never leaving - that’s how wonderful this setting is.

Welcoming and comfortable your family and friends will be in awe before you hit the driveway. If you’re an early riser your morning coffee will come with show. The breathtaking sunrises are well worth your time. Not an early riser, no problem there a 2nd opportunity to be awed by the spectacular sunsets then maybe head out for a bon fire. The Space:
You’ll appreciate personal space in the open floor plan. Kitchen layout was designed so the culinary master can enjoy the view and mingle with the party as they prepare gourmet meals on professional appliances in the fully stocked chef’s kitchen (nearly every small appliance imaginable, cook and bakeware, serviceware, platters, and more. Keurig, pods, drip coffee, frother, etc. The outdoor kitchen offers large oversized professional grill, griddle, ample counter space, group seating and dining table for up to 14. You’ll appreciate large open space and the generous seating to lounge in the great and dining room without being on top of each other. Wind down on the inviting front porch cocktail in hand and aroma of the gourmet feast about to be shared. From morning coffee and awe inspiring sunrises to afternoon naps and jaw dropping sunsets you’ll soon find out why our guests call this paradise. Start your days collecting fresh eggs or enjoying a refreshing outdoor shower and end them gathered around the fire pit star gazing and making smores.

Price is for 8 but comfortably sleeps 10 max ($100 pp pn after 8). Master bed with en suite, king bed, soaking tub, glass shower, bidet and private balcony. Two guest bedrooms and full bath on the second floor (one double and one queen). Two large rooms in lower level currently used for sleeping and quiet office space. Each room has a queen bed and a trundle bed. Infant/toddler‘s welcome but we do not provide crib or pack and play. High-quality linens, cozy comforters, extra pillows and towels are provided as is shampoo/conditioner and body gel.

We consider our dogs part of our family and expect you do too, so with prior approval we consider well behaved, potty trained fur babies. Oversized therapeutic memory foam dog bed as well as dog bowl offered. If allowed there will be a $100 fee and pet must be leashed at all times and crated when unattended. Exceptions considered when necessary. Excellent cell and Internet service. Welcome to our simple country home with lovely mountain views. Located 15 minutes west of Catskill/Hudson and down the road from Leeds, it's close to local attractions and still away from it all. The wrap-around deck and screened in porch are nestled against 13 acres of meadow and woods. WIldlife sightings abound, and the stargazing is unbeatable. Wifi is excellent and the house has a simple, unpretentious spirit. Sleeps 9!
The space
You’ll enter downstairs where we have 2 bedrooms (one has a bunk bed w/ trundle and one has a queen bed), a bathroom with shower, a laundry room with washer/dryer, and a garage game room equipped for some ping-pong and darts. Make your way upstairs into the large living room, with a wall of windows facing the mountain view. In this upstairs space is also a dining table which seats 6-8 as well as a kitchen bar that can accommodate a few more. The kitchen is well stocked. There are 2 more bedrooms upstairs (one with a king and one with a queen), and a bathroom with shower/bath.

One door off the main living space opens to a wrap-around deck with outdoor seating, as well as a gas grill; the other door opens to a small, screened in porch with a picnic table.

The land, in original Mohican territory, spans 13 acres back into the woods, where you’ll find beautiful Red Oaks and White Pines. The house is surrounded by some mowed lawn and untouched meadow; and a fire pit sits in the middle of the backyard. We encourage you to take full advantage of the peaceful outdoor spaces. We love this space, with all its simplicity and beauty, and hope y’all will, too!

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house with the exception of the (linen/cleaning) closet, attic, and garage. This is a multilevel home & guests must use stairs to access levels.

★★OTHER THINGS TO NOTE★★

The pet fee is a one-time, non-refundable fee that covers a cleaning post-checkout to prevent any allergy-related illness in the cabin for future guests. Pet-related damages or the need for excessive cleaning will be debited from the guest. Guests that bring pets without noting them in their reservation beforehand will be charged the pet fee.

There is a $500 additional cleaning charge if there is any smell or evidence of smoking. Anyone found breaking these rules will be asked to leave without a refund.

The house is spread across three floors so guests will need to be comfortable with going up and down stairs.

We provide a starter set of household supplies -dishwasher tablets, dishwasher soap, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, body soap, hand soap, and laundry detergent, along with bed linens and towels.

In addition there were few black ants which I came to know when it bit me. A recently renovated Dutch farmhouse style house will charm you with its modern yet traditional feel and perfect location. The property is ideally suited 5 minutes from Windham mountain and 10 minutes from Hunter mountain, and close by to Windham Path and trailhead into the Elm Ridge Wild Forest. There are 4 bedrooms with queen beds in three of them and a bunk bed for two children. Amenities include 50” flat screen Roku TV, Wifi, washer dryer, a fully stocked kitchen and a electric car hookup

- "Three adults and one child stayed for a long weekend. The host was very communicative and check in was easy. The WiFi worked well which is essential with no cell service. Our toddler loved the open floor plan, and the slide on the bunk beds. This is an older home, but with modern appliances in the kitchen and bathroom. Unfortunately, the listing says that there is A/C, but this is inaccurate. Fortunately, it was cool enough the weekend we were there to use window and fans. Other inconveniences were minor, like some light switches weren’t working and some lights needed replacing. A previous listing said there wasn’t a door between two bedrooms, but they must have had one installed since then, as we were able to close the door between two bedrooms. Location is rural and you can’t walk to anything. But within a 3-7 min drive you can find the walking path, coffee, convience stores, and the downtown strip of Windham, which we really enjoyed. All in all, we would stay here again, as long as the weather isn’t too hot. Thank you for hosting us."

GENERAL HOUSEHOLD/OUTDOORS

PLEASE keep the BED LINENS and TOWELS presentable-much appreciated gesture is piling dirty sheets and towels in bin by the washing machine upon check-out. Do dishes. No damage of property or objects. Keep all floors and all furniture as clean as possible; hard/soft furnishings untarnished. No smoking, no events. No littering outdoors (cigarette butts/filter tips not an exception)! Garage entry barred, but there is plenty of free, safe parking space in driveway. Please park judiciously.

The house is roomy and can accommodate 5 people. If you find yourself having to rearrange furniture for accommodation or aesthetic purposes, please do put things back in place as they were when you entered the property.

THE POND

Guests are welcome to enjoy our pond, but please do NOT enter the water, and be mindful of your pets and children near the water. No swimming!! Please do not harm the pond life you may encounter, including turtles and bullfrogs. Please refrain from feeding pond life, or throwing food into the water.

Guests bear FULL RESPONSIBILITY for the safety of their children and pets throughout the duration of their stay.

PETS

Only housebroken pets allowed. If bringing pets, please bring a cover for couches and do not let pets on human beds.

CHILDREN

Make sure children do not damage, scratch, or draw on property/objects/mirrors/walls or enter pond water.

GARBAGE

Take out trash to large gray trash bin in front of garage door, keep trash bags tightly closed.

LOCKBOX/KEYS

Keep upper and lower lock keys on/near your person or in lockbox during your stay to avoid getting locked out. Deposit keys in lockbox when leaving property or checking out, remember to scramble the numbers.

THE WALKWAY

Please mind your step on the stone walkway at the side of the house, as it has wooden rims/edges that protrude slightly. Warn your children to watch their step when walking/running too!

AC

When AC is running, keep house doors and most windows closed to optimize function/conserve energy.

DOORS

Try to keep the house doors closed while outside around the property to conserve energy, and to keep insects from migrating inside.

FIREPLACE

Before use, reach into fireplace to open the fireplace damper to make sure smoke gets out through the chimney. Remove/dispose of soot/debris after use.

OTHER RECOMMENDATIONS FOR INDOORS

This is by no means a house rule, but we suggest guests bring a change of shoes/slippers for their own convenience, especially if inclement weather is expected. We imagine guests will love being outdoors, but with rain the grass can get soggy. You’ll want to have something comfy for your indoor experience.

The space

Pine Meadow is a 1950s-built home with modern updates, sitting on a wide-open field with a lush background of trees and mountain views. Enjoy the beauty of the Catskills and the tranquility that comes with the space.

The property is accessible by car, or take a train into Hudson and 30-min ride-share.

On the property, you’ll find a fire pit, a charcoal grill, and a spacious deck for stargazing & lounging.

Each bedroom has a window unit air conditioner for staying cool in the summer. The ground level bedrooms come with wall-unit heating while the loft bedroom contains a brand new space heater and plenty of extra blankets for staying cozy in the winter.

The living room contains a full-sized sleeper sofa and is perfect for hanging, playing board games, or nestling by the fireplace with a book. The space comes with board games, card games, puzzles, books, and a smart TV. Enjoy some hot apple cider from the local farm a 3-min drive away and enjoy the benefits of unlimited free Wi-Fi.

Take advantage of the multiple hammock relaxation stations throughout the property and swimming in the creek. If you're up for a walk, the infamous Yellow Deli is just a mile down the road. We're just a few minutes away from from Windham Mountain and various trails if you're the hiking type.

The Space:

Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature!

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed with a memory foam mattress. The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, and 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs.

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation.

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

Other Things to Note:
Bring loads of extra blankets and warm clothing. Boots are a must. Although the driveway is kept clear, car should ideally be AWD or 4WD depending on weather conditions. Consult your campkeeper. Let your campkeeper know when you are arriving so we can light up entry for you and have your tent pre-warmed. Cleanup all common spaces when you leave. But, make yourself at home.

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). This community is as peaceful as it is beautiful. There are over 6 acres of manicured lawns. There is on-site management as well as surveillance of the grounds. It is 3 minutes from Zoom Flume Water Park and a very scenic 20 min. drive from two Ski Resorts. This property has studio and 1 bedroom units only. There is upgraded WIFI and utilities are included. Electric car charging stations and parking is available. There is no smoking in the units as there are smoking receptacles outside. No pets are allowed.

- "Rooms very small , beds so uncomfortable that no one slept well , kitchen very outdated in need of repairs and facelift . Carpets filthy, old , smelly , not even vacuumed . Definitely never vacuumed behind and under the beds. Window blinds falling off after just touching them . Wall papers peeling of the walls . Menager was nice and did his part delivering missing pillow cases . If you don’t mind poor conditions you get what you pay for but I’ll never set my foot again on those carpets. - "The 14 of us had a wonderful experience on this property. (8 adults, 6 kids). Open sloped front fields and forested slopes back hill with trails for hiking, mountain biking. We stayed during Spring Break, and it snowed, so we rode sleds down the entire front yard! 2 MINUTE sled ride!! Then all the snow melted, and we rode mountain bikes on the trails up on the hill behind the house. The house is very cozy with it’s all-wood interior. The kids stayed downstairs, and shot pool & played ping pong, while us adults relaxed upstairs on the first floor in the open floor plan. From the 1st floor living room / dining room / kitchen and outdoor front deck, you’ll have a beautiful wide unobstructed view of the mountains in the distance and sunsets. Gorgeous! The owner is super friendly and helpful. 35 min away is Kaaterskill Falls: beautiful & beautiful family photo opp."

AMAYA GUESTHOUSE

A redesigned luxury guesthouse + event space along the Catskill Creek in the heart of the historic hamlet of Oak Hill. Amaya, which was previously The Dewitt Hotel, was built in 1865 and is apart of the National Register of Historic Places.

If the outdoors are your thing, we are minutes from skiing, hiking, and all the activities that the "Gem of the Catskills" has to offer. If you're looking for a retreat in the country, away from the rigors of city life, then you are also invited to make our abode your cozy (and romantic) retreat. Conveniently located off Route 23, simply zip out the door and let the adventures begin (or not)!

The space
Hello! Thank you for considering the Durso House as a base for your outdoor escapades or for a quiet respite from whatever you're escaping. (No judgements here - escape away!) We hope you find the home as cozy, cute, and comfortable as the pictures indicate as well as a practical place with all the amenities you need to consider the house your own for the duration of your stay.

To that end, you will find a fully functional (and new) kitchen with a gas stove, fridge, and dishwasher. And yes, there are plenty of plates, bowls, cutlery, pots, pans, baking sheets, glasses (both wine and the boring kind), etc. to place in that dishwasher. (Why eat out every night when you can save some dinero and cook at home?) You will also find shampoo, conditioner, and body wash - all Shikai products - in dispensers in the shower, extra linens and towels, a washer and dryer in the basement, and a place to dry out your ski/snowboarding gear and boots. In the main bedroom there is a queen bed and a smart TV; the smaller room has a full bed. Oh, and the bedroom doors. Quaint, right? Just be prepared to duck a little if you're over 6 foot. During the summer there is a portable air conditioner in the main area downstairs as well as another portable air conditioner in the main bedroom upstairs.

So, if you stay at the DH, you will be:

* 18 minutes from Hunter

Oak Hill is a quiet town 2.5 hours north of NYC. The Yellow Deli, I.U. Tripp Antiques, Mattice, Pidgen, Wild Flower, Used- five shops are all within walking distance from the house.
Catskill is 20 minutes away and Hudson is 40 minutes away.
SUMMER- access to hiking trails, mountain biking, golf, antiquing, Zoom Flume Water Park and local farmer markets. Howe Caverns and Cooperstown are within an hour's drive. A creek in the back to hang out by.
WINTER-20 minutes to Windham/35 to Hunter.

The space
Downstairs is a bedroom that sleeps two comfortably and living room with a daybed that a single can sleep on. The upstairs has two bedrooms that each sleep two comfortably. The house can be used by two separate families that want to vacation together and want to have their own space at the end of the day. Both upstairs and downstairs have a kitchen and bathroom. Outside is a she shed that can sleep one or two. There is no bath outside.

You'd be walking up to a brand new front deck, into the large livingroom. To your left are two bedrooms and a large bathroom. Across from the living room is a massive solid butcher block dining table. Perfect for those huge family gatherings or holidays. Just to the right of the living room is the master bedroom with two large closets and a huge bathroom with a tub that can fit two!

Against the dining room is our pride and joy, our enormous gallery style kitchen. Cabinets on either side. Fully equipped with all appliances. Including your coffee makers, toasters, etc. Just past this is the MAN CAVE lol! Our Den area with a working wood fireplace. Including a mud room with a washer and dryer.

The rear back deck is designed to entertain everyone comfortably too. With access from the dining room and from its side gate.

We also have adequate seating for those outside firepits to get cozy with those marshmallows and grahams.

At night you sit back and enjoy listening to the peace and tranquility of the mountain air.

Welcome to our peaceful sunny home nestled at the edge of the woods. We have a well-equipped kitchen, air-conditioning, heated floors, and fast WiFi. Unwind on the cozy window seat, explore LP's and board games, watch a movie, go for a walk through the trails in our backyard, or jam on drums+guitar in the clubhouse . Delicious eats, drinks, groceries, hiking, skiing, arts, movies, shopping, and an Amtrak train station are all within a 30 minute drive.

The space
Enter through our airy sun-room that doubles as a living room and dining room (with large 8-seat dining table). The open kitchen has an island for socializing while cooking and eating on the fly, different forms of coffee (drip, pour over), well-stocked cookware and spice rack, an Instant Pot, and a dishwasher for easy cleanup. The second living room has a long window seat (perfect spot for reading and napping), record player, karaoke machine, video projector, DVD player, and selection of books and board games. The primary bedroom with full en-suite bathroom is located on the first floor. Up the stairs is a second full bathroom and two additional bedrooms, each equipped with a desk. There is air conditioning in the living room / kitchen, and all 3 bedrooms. High-speed WiFi is accessible throughout the house.

The 17-acre property includes about 1 km of walking trails and a separate "clubhouse" that is a favorite hang-out spot for kids (and adults). Enjoy coffee in the garden, cook a delicious meal on the Weber grill, eat at the picnic table, and make s'mores at the fire pit.

We’re happy to welcome house-trained pets! There’s a $100 fee per pet (up to 2). If you plan to bring pets please make sure to let us know in advance. We also have towels set aside for your furry friends!

Nature lovers will see all kinds of local wildlife from deer, chipmunks, rabbits and, if you’re lucky, a red tail hawk or even a bald eagle!

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house with the exception of the (linen/cleaning) closet, attic, and garage. This is a multilevel home & guests must use stairs to access levels.

★★OTHER THINGS TO NOTE★★

The pet fee is a one-time, non-refundable fee that covers a cleaning post-checkout to prevent any allergy-related illness in the cabin for future guests. Pet-related damages or the need for excessive cleaning will be debited from the guest. Guests that bring pets without noting them in their reservation beforehand will be charged the pet fee.

There is a $500 additional cleaning charge if there is any smell or evidence of smoking or vaping, inside or outside of the property. We work hard to keep the grounds in great shape and reduce our impact on the local habitat. Leaving butts behind outside will result in a $500 additional cleaning charge. Anyone found breaking these rules will be asked to leave without a refund.

The house is spread across three floors so guests will need to be comfortable with going up and down stairs.

We provide a starter set of household supplies -dishwasher tablets, dishwasher soap, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, body soap, hand soap, and laundry detergent, along with bed linens and towels.

Additional supplies can be purchased at:

-Hannaford Supermarket (Very large supermarket for everything, recommend pick up groceries on the way to the house, 20 mins from house)

- The Milk Run (small gas station grocery store for to-go sandwiches, beer, frozen pizza. 5 mins from the house. Also has firewood.)

The space
Kitchen / Dining:
The kitchen is fully equipped with Aarke Carbonator, Balmuda Toaster, Fellow Stagg Electric kettle, dishwasher (complimentary detergent pods) for guests’ culinary needs, whether warming up leftovers in the microwave or cooking a multi-course meal on the Bertazzoni gas range. The kitchen also features matte gray stone countertops, and matte white shelving. Your coffee options include a classic drip coffee maker, Chemex pour-over glass coffeemaker or the Nespresso Vertuo Pop+ (complimentary coffee bean and coffee pods).

Living room:
The living offers a view of the catskill mountain. Relax on the Floyd sofa and watch Netflix on the large projector or listen to vinyl on the record player, which also doubles as a Bluetooth speaker. You can sit back and relax around fireplace or settle into the work-from-home nook if your visit is both business and pleasure.

Bedrooms:
There is 3 beds and 2 baths. 2 bedrooms with King size beds. 1 Bedroom with Queen size bed. One bathroom with a large soaking tub and shower, 2nd bathroom with shower and sauna.

Washer/Dryer available.

Pool:
A above-the-ground pool is built into the deck. Take in some sun from the pool lounger, then pop into the pool for a cool dip. Most adults will be immersed in water up to their chest. (Please note: the pool is NOT heated. The pool may not be available Spring/Fall/Winter months). There is a self-regulated pump system that you may hear turn on.

Basement playroom can be used as additional bedroom as per request (We can provide air mattress or floor mattress).

Close to many river/creek swimming spots, (We have safety gears if needed), many hiking trails and with New York’s two major ski mountains Windham and Hunter mountain.

Three parking spots are provided outside in front of our house. The garage is not available for parking.

Some of our favorite spots for food, home goods shopping are as close as a 3 minute drive. Laundry services, grocery stores, and more are about 15 minutes away. We provide a house manual with recommendations and details.

We recommend guests have their own vehicles or use a private car service, rather than depending on rideshares.

The property has basement floor features second bathroom and laundry room. The steps do not have a handrail.

✅ PROPERTY ACCESS: The entry driveway is a public, town-maintained road, and occasional passersby may briefly enter to make U-turns or take photos. All areas beyond the driveway are strictly private, and public access beyond that point is prohibited. Guests retain full and uninterrupted access to the property during their stay. The property manager reserves the right to access the premises at any time.

✅ SELF-CATERING: We provide enough toiletries and paper products to get you started, including essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, and basic soap. However, once these initial supplies run out, guests are responsible for purchasing their own. We recommend planning ahead and bringing additional items you might need for a comfortable stay.

✅ PET: To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, we allow a maximum of 2 pets. A mandatory fee of $50 per pet per stay will be applied. Any damage caused by pets will be taken seriously, and guests will be charged the actual cost of repairs or replacements. We expect all guests to adhere to this policy to maintain a pleasant environment for everyone.

✅ RISK ASSUMPTION: Guests are welcome to enjoy all the activities our property offers, but please be aware that all activities are at your own risk. The Joy Cottage was built facing the ponds located on the temple grounds, ensuring our guests will be able to enjoy the view from every room and setting within the cottage. While staying at the cottage, if weather permits, we highly encourage our guests to walk to the grounds of the temple and take in the beauty and nature the grounds have to offer.

There is a paved walkway located on the property that allows guests to explore with comfort. Guests can visit the “Jade Pagoda” and climb to the 7th floor and see majestic view of the Catskill Mountains and temple grounds.

Guests may visit and explore the temple grounds from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM. The temple grounds are open to everyone, and we encourage guests to take advantage of this opportunity.

The Joy Cottage features three Zen-inspired bedrooms, including a “Primary” suite. Each room has a picturesque view of the grounds.

All three bedrooms and common areas have air conditioning through central air. Since the property is located on the Buddhist Temple Grounds, it is important to us to provide all guests with the opportunity to embrace the ways of the Buddhist faith by offering unique features throughout the cottage such as meditation cushions, meditation guidebooks, and mediation sound machines in each bedroom. The common areas are an open design concept for space that can be used for meditation, yoga, Japanese Tea, and much more.

There are no cooking restrictions within the house, our goal is to provide the opportunity to embrace the Buddhist lifestyle by providing Vegetarian cookbooks as well as a Himalayan salt blocks for cooking.

Our kitchen and dining area comfortably seat 6 people. The newly renovated kitchen features stainless steel appliances, a toaster, pressure cooker, and just about everything else you need including cookware and silverware.

The Joy Cottage has everything you will need, whether you are staying for a weekend, a week, a month, or longer.

The Joy Cottage is a private residential home you have unlimited access to.

The Cottage features a Zen Garden located on the back side of the property, Two outside patios with patio furniture to relax and enjoy the scenery together.

There is a fire pit for you and your fellow guests to enjoy while sitting by the ponds.

You and your fellow guests are welcome to walk the temple grounds during business hours of 9:00AM - 6:00PM. We suggest visiting the Jade Pagoda and walking along the paved walkway to experience all the nature the grounds have to offer.

The temple grounds are surrounded by a dense wooded area. During your stay you may have the opportunity to see multiple wild animals not limited to woodpeckers, raccoons, squirrels, deer, and bears.

We ask that guests respect the animals and their space, not only for your safety but to help maintain the local ecosystem.

Other things to note
The Joy Cottage is a self check-in cottage.

Guests are encouraged to plan ahead and check in from 4 PM - 8 PM, as there is limited lighting after dark, we strongly recommend arriving before the sunsets. Guests can arrive after 8 PM. If the temple gate is closed and locked, you can access using the code for the door :)

We do have a gate that closes to ensure that no unscheduled visitors may enter the private property. During your stay, you may request to leave the gate unlocked, but we strongly recommend opening and closing the gate as needed for the safety of our guests.

Check out of the property is 11:00 AM. Late checkout may be available upon request at booking. If request is not made ahead of time, we may not be able to accommodate the request.

Each room has queen bed and trundle bed. Infant/toddler welcome but we do not offer crib or pack-play. Our chefs kitchen stocked with everything you need to prep, cook, serve and store meals or take it to the outdoor kitchen for a BBQ on extra large professional grill or spoil the family with a tasty breakfast on the griddle. A true chefs kitchen you’ll be impressed with the abundant supply of professional quality cookware, bakeware and kitchenware including sharp high quality chefs knives and every small appliance imaginable. You’re welcome to vinegars, oils, spices, plastic wrap, foil, ziplocks, etc., formal dining room seating for 12, large wide open great/living room. Plenty space for all to lounge and room for more than 1 chef in kitchen. Full wall of glass extending across the front of the house let’s the natural sunlight fill rooms and gives you a clear view of the majestic mountains. The covered wrap around porch adds an additional 1400sf of entertaining space and offer large oversized furniture for your relaxing pleasure. The fire pit is a favorite where guests enjoy family time around bon fires making s’mores and building memories beneath the glow of the moon lit sky and twinkling stars.

High quality linens, cozy comforters, extra pillows and towels are provided as is shampoo/conditioner and body gel, laundry detergent and fabric softener and iron supplied.

We consider our dogs part of our family and expect you do too, so with prior approval we consider well behaved, potty trained fur babies to make your stay a true family experience. In fact, your pooch will be as spoiled as you are... a therapeutic memory foam dog bed as well as dog bowls toys and treats await him (her) so no need to drag any of that with you. Pets will be considered but must be pre-approved. If allowed there will be $100 fee and pet must be leashed at all times and crated when unattended. Exceptions considered when necessary.

Guests will enjoy full access of the entire home, front and back yards. Property boundary in the back yard is the rock wall, private property beyond. Garage is locked and off limits as is the butler pantry in mud room and master closet in master bedroom (both locked). Convenient space to plug in electric cars.

Other things to note
A car is necessary, we lack public transportation out here in the country. It’s the price we pay for a true country experience, far from the stresses and anxiety that have you looking for clean country air, a place you’re safe to let the kids run free with privacy and serenity.

This sprawling farmhouse is a great place for hosting large families or special events. Nestled in the Catskill Mountains with beautiful porch views of the sunset and summer hayfields. Walk on our nature trails or read a book on the dock, there are endless possiblilities on our manicured estate. From catching fireflies, to patio parties connected to the outdoor sound system, or simply enjoying a fire while the deer graze. All the simplicity of a country setting with the amenities of home.

The space
All of the bedrooms are located on the second and third floors. Bedrooms 1-4 are private with their own doors. "Bedroom 5" is a two room suite with private bath. Bedroom 6 is a master bedroom with a private entrance, coffee bar and private bathroom. "Bedroom 7" is the entire 3rd floor with two sleeping areas connected by a hallway. "The Inn" is a huge space that has 14 individual beds and can sleep 21, plus 4 more on two queen-sized pull-out couches, and 2 more on cots that are available upon request. Guests will enjoy the whole house. The barn and garage are not accessible to guests.

This is not a for-profit business. This is our family vacation home that we rent only a few times each year. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. "The Inn" has been in our family for 100 years and we intend to be responsible stewards until we pass it on to the next generation of family.
