The house features many large windows taking full advantage of the Lake Huron view. The gorgeous sunrises over the water can be experienced from every room in the house, including all four bedrooms. This home is a 2BDR/ 1BATH setup with 1 Queen bed, 1 bunk, and 2 pull out couch sleeping 8 people comfortable. This quaint charming home offers great indoor and outdoor relaxations and is only a short 10 minute drive to a local apple orchard. Keyless entry allows for a hassle free start to any vacation getaway. There is a sawmill in close location. However is not extremely loud.

Also, the North Eastern State Trail is practically in the back yard, ready for bikers and snowmobilers alike. If you’re up for a drive, Mackinac Island is about an hour away! So too are numerous Petoskey wineries and beautiful ski slopes.

After a full day of warm or wintery fun, come back to the house to relax in the comfy living room, cook a delicious meal on the grill or the full kitchen, catch up on emails in the little office nook, or sit around the fire pit to roast s’mores and watch the stars with your friends or family.

The cabin is located in between Hoeft state park and 40 Mile point lighthouse. 2 minute walk to the Lake Huron bike trail. (Bring your bikes)

This cabin does not have a microwave, coffee pot or laundry facilities. There is a laundromat in town with limited hours.

Things in the cabin: small refrigerator,small gas stove, outdoor grill, fire pit, picnic table, some dishes, some utensils, outdoor heater(commercial type) wine glasses, cast iron cookware (don’t use if you’re not familiar), and some books/magazines.

The kitchen is not ideal for cooking gourmet meals. I cook almost everything on the grill outside. When you see the view, you’ll understand why.

Two bedrooms. 2 queen beds, 1 single bed, one single roll away bed, sofa and loveseat.

This cabin is designed with spending time outdoors in mind but equipped for rainy days. Feel free to reach out to me and I can answer any and all questions. I don’t want anyone to not enjoy so here is what you may encounter:

There are pests, flies, mosquitoes, mice, bats, deer, bear. This is a cabin in Northern Michigan, in the woods. Check the internet for unusually large numbers, seasons etc. if this is something that will ruin your vacation.

The bluff is high and the stairs are steep. There aren’t excessive railings so this cabin is not ideal for unattended children untrained pets, or those with physical disabilities.

This cabin is non smoking. Feel free to smoke like a dragon, just do it outside.

I list these things because sadly, I have to. This place is for 4 people who want to check out Lake Huron and not stay in a roadside motel or a tent. If you are expecting the Hilton, you won’t find it in Rogers City:-). This is a Michigan cabin. A roof, electricity, Wi-Fi, bed, running water. Everything else is a bonus. Priced accordingly.

Do not park on the septic field. Yup, had to add this too. Do not park anywhere beyond the garage and you will be just fine.

- "The view is breathtaking. Uhikwa'tuh is always moving and singing, the sky big, the horizon endless and the water an everchanging palette of blue. The cottage was charming. We appreciated it's 50+ year old structure and the tasteful and fun renovations taking place. We hope Stephanie keeps this gem alive. She was very accurate in her description of the place. Even if you cannot do the steps to the beach the view from the cottage is spectacular and you can access the roadside beach right off the bike trail! If you can get down to the beach...pure huron heaven! Outdoor grilling and sitting area were great too. Also the location of this cabin is in a friendly and quiet neighborhood. It is located near many parks and historical cites to explore. We did...don't miss out this place is worth a visit or two or three."

I loved all the cute “nooks” where you could have comfortable quiet times alone to read or relax. The views were incredible!! To have a yard to play games, in the softest grass ever, and then walk right onto the sand and up to the clear water was so amazing!! I would recommend water shoes, as the bottom of the lake is quite rocky with some sandy spots!! A 14-foot row boat is included with rental and a motor for the boat is available for an additional fee. There is a public launch right next to the property if you choose to bring your own boat. - "My two adult sons and I thoroughly enjoyed the cabin! Everything was clean and neat. There was plenty of space for us, and my sons enjoyed sleeping and playing video games in the loft. We were in town for a family reunion, and most of our family was camping at Hoeft State Park. The cabin was a short drive to the campground, so it was very convenient. There is a lot to do in the area. We enjoyed swimming and beach volleyball at Hoeft, the 40-Mile Lighthouse, the limestone quarry in Roger's City, and ice cream at The Painted Lady. We had a great time and would definitely return!"

The cabin has an open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen. The large picture window and sliding glass door give great views of the lake and the trees surrounding the property. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances with a gas range. The master bedroom has a queen bed with down comforter and tv. The smaller bedroom has a twin daybed great for curling up with a book while you take in the lake view. The entire downstairs has waterproof flooring excellent for pets and kids. The upstairs has a large loft with an oversized beanbag chair (5 ft wide) and three twin beds. The loft also has a 43 Roku TV with DVD player and board games. The unfinished basement is equipped with a mid-sized ping pong table, foosball table, two recliners, and a full-sized futon. The foosball table can be converted into 10 other games (table hockey, bowling, pool, etc.).

Off the front of the house is a covered porch with a large chair and chaise that overlook the lake. It's a great place to enjoy your morning coffee and listen to the owls. The front yard has a fire pit with four adriondack chairs, Weber charcoal grill, and cornhole boards. At night, enjoy the Italian lights that connect the two decks and weave through the woods.

Steps take you down to the lake and dock. The upper dock has two adriondack chairs and has a beautiful view of the bay. The lower dock is close to the water making it easy to get in and out of boats. Explore the lake using one of the provide kayaks or row boats. The lake is private so it does not have a public ramp; however, the cabin is surrounded by pubic lakes: Lost Lake (1 mile), Lake May (1.5 miles) with public beach, Lake Nettie (2 miles). You could explore a new lake each day.

Other nearby activities/day trips:
- Ocqueoc Falls is just 13 miles away. Great place to spend the day swimming in the falls.
- Grab a coffee in Roger City about 25 minutes from the cabin then drive along M23 to enjoy the Lake Huron coast. End the trip in Cheybogan with a walk along the river front or a hike at Cheybogan State Park.
- Drive M23 south to take in the coast of Grand Lake. Turn east to see the Presque Isle Lighthouse.
- Spend the day spotting Elk at the various look outs about a hour south of the cabin.
- An hour trip gets you to the Mackinaw Bridge. Explore the waterfront of Mackinaw City then take the ferry to Mackinaw Island where you can rent a bike to explore.

Cabin sits on a small bay with an island. You exit the bay through a large canal then the private lake opens up. Water is crystal clear! You can watch the blue gills, bass, and perch swim by the dock in the spring and summer. Lake is around 10 feet deep.

Despite the remote location, the home has high speed (fiber) wireless internet. We have spotty cell service, but you can connect to the Wi-Fi once you arrive for calls.

Plan to take all trash home with you as trash pick up is unavailable. Local drop off at the Hawks Gas Station. They charge a small per bag fee.

- "I’m 33 weeks pregnant so we wanted a close-ish getaway with family before the big day. This place was perfect. We enjoyed burgers and dogs on the grill, had smores each night around the fire and the kayaks were so fun! We ventured into the town for dinner and also checked out the waterfall which provided enjoyment for everyone from our toddler to my mother in law! Great spot. Loon Lookout is an A-Frame cottage with views of the lake on one side and a wooded area on the other. Although you are able to see other cottages from Loon Lookout, it is perfect for a single family getaway or as an additional home to other rented cottages. Sleeping up to 4 persons, the A-frame home has a furnished kitchen, comes with a 14' aluminum boat for guests to enjoy, your own picnic table and of course your own private dock. Feel free to bring your own kayaks or canoes to drop in the water! In addition, there are a couple of Adirondack chairs to relax in as you roast marshmallows over your private fire-pit.

- "This is a beautiful piece of property and a very cool "hunt camp". There is a ton of privacy and it is very peaceful and quiet. It has a great yard for games, bow practice, etc. We also saw multiple deer in the early morning and early evenings.There is only one bedroom, so if you don't mind bunking together, it works out very well. The bedroom is very big, so you don't feel cramped.The kitchen and island/bar area is large and well stocked. There is also a washer and dryer, but you will need to bring detergent and dryer sheets.We really enjoyed our stay!"

Eagles Nest is an A-Frame cottage nestled into the wooded hill-side with a beautiful view of Lake Nettie. It is the largest cottage out of 8 and host up 8 guest. This three-story home has a walk-out basement with 2 sets of full-sized bunk beds, hosts the kitchen and living quarters on the second floor, and a set of bedrooms rests on the 3rd floor. It has a compact kitchen, comes with a 14' aluminum boat, picnic table and of course, your own private dock. A few Adirondack chairs sit around a private fire-pit for you to relax and enjoy the sites and sounds of NettieBay.

This is a home built with care in 1925. It has lots of original woodwork. Working wood burning fireplace. Hardwood floors porcelain tub, it has steeper stairs and a smaller bathroom then homes built today. Enjoy the large wooden picture windows, secluded backyard with a fire pit. There isn't Wifi or cable, there is a HDTV & DVD/Blu-ray player if needed. For a nice weekend getaway or something more than a hotel this is a great place. Note this is not a hotel it's a 1925 home and has flaws.

The space
Our Retro Retreat is a home that's been in our family for generations and we are excited to share. Keep reading for a quick tour through where you will be staying!

Walking through the front door you're greeted with the sunroom. This is a perfect place to get ready to go out on the town, sip your morning coffee, or wind down for the day.

Just off of the sunroom is the living room where you'll notice the mix of mid-century modern furniture and a smart TV for entertainment. The large windows flood the space with natural light, creating a warm and inciting atmosphere. For extra sleeping space, the futon conveniently folds into a bed. A memory foam mattress and bedding for the futon are in the front bedroom's closet.

The dining room has a table for four, and a bar that fits two. It's connected to the kitchen that's fully equipped with the essentials for a convenient and easy stay. Whether you're cooking for a couple, getting ready for a barbecue, or getting ready for a party, we have almost everything you need.

A quick step through the dining room's sliding door takes you to the porch and the barbecue grill. The porch is in full sun, so make sure to bring your sunglasses if you're relaxing on the patio furniture.

Going back inside, we have the bathroom in the back of the house. It has everything you need to clean up, and is stocked up with plenty of towels for your stay.

Onto the bedrooms, we have the front bedroom that features a vibrant color scheme and retro-themed art, with a queen bed, dresser, and closet. For futon bedding, look in this bedroom's closet.

The back right bedroom is decked out in paneling and has record art on the wall, with a queen bed and closet. The standing cabinet holds extra sheets for all beds in the house and can be used for clothes.

Last but not least is the back left bedroom that features realism art and a small desk, with a full size bed, dresser, and closet. The tiny bench by the window can be used to tell bedtime stories for the little ones who have a bed time just a little earlier than others.

Going back outside, from the porch you can take the stairs down to make your way to the back yard. There's enough space to play some yard games or have a small fire at night. If you're a sports fan, make sure to check the summer schedule for what's going on at Sports Park so you can take your seats in your personal box seat just off of left field on the garage's deck.

There are two quaint bedrooms. Bedroom #1 has a queen bed with new Simmons Beautyrest mattress. Bedroom #2 has a double bed and new mattress with a pull-out single trundle. The house comfortably sleeps a family of four or five. Both mattresses were recently replaced with a high quality replacement. The kitchen and bath are newly remodeled, featuring stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. The bathroom has a penny tile floor and gorgeous subway tile shower. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, pots and pans, etc. All you need to bring is the food. The bathroom has towels, soap, tp, etc. Sit and watch the freighters go by on Lake Huron in the all season porch or relax on the large deck. Host a bonfire, or play football on the extra lot. Ride the provided bikes and kayaks, or soak up the sun at the beach across the street. Enjoy the cute ambiance and convenient location!

Its just you and the water now. Oh, and did we mention 100 feet of sandy beach? Relax with the whole family at this peaceful, nostalgic place to stay, steps away from your own private sandy beach. We made sure to stock the kitchen with all the necessities to make meal time a little easier. We're on a quiet street, but also close to Rogers City, and about a mile away from the 40 mile lighthouse and bike trail.

The space
Our home features four bedrooms; a primary bedroom with a king sized bed and ensuite bathroom. Two bedrooms have queen sized beds and theres an additional second floor bunk room with windows on three sides of the room and three twin sized bunk beds.

Our home has a living room and family room, both with smart tv's, a fully functional galley kitchen, and a screened in porch connected to a large deck. Our deck includes a Blackstone grill.

Theres a large grassy yard with a fire-pit, bikes and extra seating stored in the shed, and a wooden walkway that leads right to our own stretch of smooth sandy beach.

**During colder months, our home is partially unheated. The section that is unheated includes the bunk room and one of the queen bedrooms. We do have space heaters available on site though if needed.

Sunrise Side Lake House is a clean and cozy lakefront home that includes views and amenities that will make your vacation one to remember. There is a private beach area, next to a mile of secluded beach at your disposal. Enjoy a swim in the lake, a walk on the beach, a bike ride or hike through the surrounding nature parks. This is a quiet and relaxing location to enjoy your summer in Northern Michigan.

The space
The lakehouse comfortably sleeps 6 people. The main floor features a cozy kitchen, a living room with lake views, a master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, a guest room with a queen bed, a guest room with bunk beds, and guest bathroom with dual sinks.

The walk-out basement includes a sofa bed, office area, and large windows overlooking the lake.

Please note that our property does not have air conditioning. We've equipped the space with fans to enhance your comfort during warmer days.

The garage is not accessible to guests. Parking is available in the driveway and in front of the house.

The space
Welcome to Huron Shores Hideaway – our private beach house located on a wooded lot directly on a sandy beach on Lake Huron! The property offers amazing lake views from the minute you walk in, as well as from the comfortable seating on the oversized deck. Down the approximately 40 stairs there is a private beach area with a fire pit and miles of secluded beach at your disposal. 2 kayaks and a standup paddleboard are provided. The sunrise trail runs directly in front of the property and the 40 Mile Point Lighthouse and the Hoeft State Park are both within a 5 to 10-minute bike ride.

Pets: 2 DOGS ARE ALLOWED- Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Dogs are not allowed on the sofa, but if this cannot be effectively enforced, please use the provided dog blankets to keep it covered. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we’ll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed. Basic dog necessities such as bed, bowls and doggie bags are provided.

Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground.
