Welcome to this 2-bedrooom ocean-side, vacation home packed full of modern-day comforts and located within 5 minutes drive of the restaurants, shops and fisherman`s dock of the Acadian village of Cheticamp.

Enjoy stunning views of the Atlantic ocean, Cape Breton`s rugged coastline and spectacular sunsets from every room.

Kindly note that children must be 8 years or older to stay, pets are not permitted and maximum occupancy is 4 persons.

Inside, the well equipped kitchen has everything you need to cook and dine in style and comfort, including an island with bar stools. The spacious living room is flooded with natural light and offers captivating ocean views and stunning evening sunsets. The home now features air conditioning. In the unlikely event you get bored of these natural wonders, we have a SMART TV and Wi-Fi for streaming movies or music.

Outside, take in the fresh Atlantic sea air while enjoying a glass of wine or a cold beer on your spacious 500 square foot sundeck which has a BBQ and 270 degree views of the coastal and local mountains.

Each bedroom has an ocean view. The master bedroom features a King-sized bed, an ultra-comfortable pillow-top mattress, premium bedding along, and an ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has an ocean view, a similar Queen-sized bed and its own bathroom.

The home sits on a 1.5-acre property about 100 feet from an embankment, with a stone beach and the Atlantic ocean below. The ocean and coastal views are truly impressive. While it is not possible to climb down the embankment to the beach, there is beach access a short walk down the road (where you will also find a popular spot for swimming, beach walks and sea glass hunting. Guests need to be responsible for their own safety near the embankment as there is no guard rail.

Location-wise, we are a short 5-10 minute drive from the historic Acadian fishing village of Cheticamp, which marks the starting point of the highly scenic Cabot Trail and the Skyline Trail (which is a must-see for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts). For golf enthusiasts, our place is a great base camp as we are ten minutes from Le Portage Golf Course and about 40 minutes from Canada`s #1 ranked golf course -- Cabot Cliffs.

1. HOUSE RULES: No pets, parties, events, smoking, fires or cooking fish, shellfish or other strong-odor foods indoors is permitted. Quiet time begins at 10 pm.

2. HOME SHARING -- We are happy to host a family of four or permit sharing by 2 couples or 3 or 4 adults. Maximum occupancy is 4 persons.

3. GUEST SAFETY -- Guests are responsible for their own safety near the embankment on the property as a fall could lead to severe injury.

1. Hike the famous Skyline Trail in Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Enjoy dramatic headland cliffs overlooking the rugged coast from the end of this level trail. You can enjoy an eagle`s view of the Cabot Trail as it winds its way down the mountain.

2. Enjoy whale watching and coastal tours offered by local operators. Watch for whales in the Gulf of St. Lawrence from the viewing decks. Moose, bald eagles, bears and numerous boreal birds live here.

3. Enjoy live Celtic and Fiddle music at the Doryman Pub and Grill and Le Gabriel restaurants (just 10 min away).

4. Le Portage 18-Hole Golf Course. Tee off beneath the Cape Breton Highlands.

5. Museum/Gallery/Cultural Center -- At Les Trois Pignons heritage center you can dive into Acadian culture and the history of Chéticamp, view an impressive collection of tapestries, rare hook rugs and antiques. There is also a genealogy resource center.

6. Hike to the swimming hole at the Cheticamp Gypsum quarry. This is a short hike on an established trail/ ATV track that leads you to a beautiful, secret swimming spot near Cheticamp.

7. Swimming at Cheticamp Island beach or Whale Cove beach, located 2 and 15 minutes away by car.

We just finished construction on these contemporary 1 bedroom, 1 bath suites, 2021 is our first season. Each unit has a full kitchen with a dining bar, and a large 200 sq. ft. deck, offering spectacular views of the Bras d'Or Lake. Large sliding glass doors and oversized windows make these cozy suites bright and airy. Many of the furnishings were custom built in our woodshop. We are only a short walk to the popular Frolic and Folk Pub & Restaurant for great dining and live entertainment. Welcome to our serene vacation home, Sea-renity, where the ocean meets rolling hills in a picturesque landscape. As soon as you arrive you feel the peacefulness of your surroundings and be greeted with stunning views. The home is beautifully decorated with a minimalist design, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Large windows allow for plenty of natural light, spacious living area and a fully equipped kitchen has everything you need to entertain or unwind and relax.

(His daughter owns the cottage. ) The sunsets over the water are spectacular. This is a very beautiful part of Cape Breton that we have never explored before. In addition to the rail trail, there are beautiful scenic drives, and hikes on this coast, as well as many lovely beaches and good bird watching! The water was cool, but not icy in mid June and we are told it warms up even more through the summer. A dip at the beach was very welcome after a long bike ride! Be sure you follow the road right up to the top at some point as there are stunning views from the top of Marble Hill Road. The cottage was very suitable for one couple, but has a large second bedroom that could accommodate another couple or two or three other family members. The bathroom at this end of the cottage is larger and has a big soaker tub, which I didn’t get to use as we were there in a heat wave! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and we are hoping to come back here again, hopefully with friends or family."

We just finished construction on these contemporary 1 bedroom, 1 bath suites, 2021 is our first season. Each unit has a full kitchen with a dining bar, and a large 200 sq. ft. deck, offering spectacular views of the Bras d'Or Lake. Large sliding glass doors and oversized windows make these cozy suites bright and airy. Many of the furnishings were custom built in our woodshop. We are only a short walk to the popular Frolic and Folk Pub & Restaurant for great dining and live entertainment. Across from the Pub, visit the Highland Village, a Gaelic living history museum and cultural center. Sun and swim on one of the many beaches within a few minutes of Hector's Point. - "the property and accommodations are very nice. great view of the lake. nearby pub has excellent food, is friendly, and has music on weekend nights. property is centrally located in CBI for going to tourist points. managers are helpful and responsive if needed. if your are going to different places in CBI this is a great place, but beware of fog coming back as the near lake area can get foggy. Roads around CBI are twisty and can be uneven and this needs to be factored into travel time. keep a 1/4 tank of gas to allow travel. overall, we would definitely stay again."

We would appreciate if kids don’t play with playdoh , water or slime inside the house . Furniture should not be moved . FirePit is not supposed to be moved . Garbage needs to sorted , Burn restrictions are to be followed. Water to be poured once fire pit is used . Only toilet paper to be flushed , we have a septic tank .

The rental was well maintained, clean, and the amenities were abundant. It is clear the property manager has thought of many kitchen utensils and other accessories to make the visit very comfortable. The listing wasn't fully accurate though in that it did not mention the tap water wasn't drinkable and there were security cameras on the exterior of the property (these weren't noted on the listing when we booked). Overall, we had a great visit and would certainly stay at the property again and recommend staying here to others."

The space
The open ocean is near with amazing private sandy beaches and coastal bluffs is a beautiful 7 min walk through open fields beside a small stream that is possible to see deer, foxes, pheasants, eagles, hawks, ducks and song birds of all types. Directly in front of me are the remains of the historic steel mill that was closed in 1920. During the war it was responsible for half of the Canadian military's steel requirements.

This is NOT a luxury home Airbnb expierence. To be honest it is not really even a nice house. It is an authentic Cape Breton old coal miner home expierence mixed with a beach house feel. I do not have any areas off limits and I try to make everyone as comfortable and welcomed here as they are in their own house. I prefer guests that are engaging and want to enjoy the experiences I can provide. I do not really do this for the money. I do this because I love to share the beauty all around me. I am also available most of the time to travel with you and be your guide around the Cabot trail or Fort Louisburg or the Wildlife park or whatever adventure we can find. I have a 6 person hot tub, brand new boat, ATV, & 2 kayaks and weather permitting they are almost always available. I have a few surprises I have not listed but if you read the reviews you might see some of them. If you wanted just a bed and continue on your journey there are many other more beautiful Airbnb's around me that would probably suit you better. But if you want an expierence you will never forget, I promise you I can provide that.

During your stay
I live here by myself and home most of the time. I grew up on a 1000 acre farm in Alberta and have stayed in many Airbnb's myself and I learned a lot from that. My highest priority is that guest are perfectly comfortable and enjoy their stay. Nothing in my house is off limits. Breakfasts items including bacon and eggs, cereal, porridge, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, snacks, and more, are provided free. I can even cook it for you if needed.
The stairs to the bathroom and bedroom are very steep, so please consider this when booking.

The space
Near a brook and woods, but a pleasant walk to downtown North Sydney, a great base from which to explore beautiful Cape Breton Island. The 2 guest rooms share a bath and partial kitchen, and sometimes you may use other rooms, but we live busy lives here, with a big dog and cat, so other spaces are not always available nor kept to the standards of a commercial BNB. It's an interesting, welcoming home.

NOTE: If we happen to be out when you arrive, the door will be unlocked and masking tape signs will direct you to your room. We are usually happy to let you use common rooms, as long as you are respectful, and you can play my son's semi-concert grand piano if you know how. The pictured bathroom is exclusively for guests so it might be yours alone or might be shared with guests in the other rental bedroom if it is occupied. There is another bath with shower you can use if the guest bath has to be shared. We have our own private bath ensuite in the master bedroom. There is a partial kitchen for guests, with microwave, kettle and fridge... the full kitchen may be available on request, but we use it a lot.

During your stay
We love to cook and usually eat out doors in the summer, and you are welcome to use the barbecue. We are not always at home, but if we are, we would love hearing about your adventures. We can provide you with lots of advice about where to go and what to do in Cape Breton.
