Offering views of the Ingonish Bay with sunset., Knotty Pine Cottages, Suites & Motel Rooms is set in Ingonish Beach in the Nova Scotia Region. The Tan Chalet has a tan roof! It's big enough for up to 8 people and has a full kitchen with the necessary amenities, dining and sitting area, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a covered deck in front, fire pit and picnic table. The bedroom downstairs has a double bed and the loft room upstairs a queen and 2 twin beds. You can also bring your furry friend for an additional $15 a night. This chalet is wheelchair accessible and there is parking right behind it. Linens, towels, and soap provided.

Guests enjoy our complimentary meditation and Qi Gong sessions. Rent kayaks, canoes, yoloboard, snowshoes, or simply explore our trails along the Indian Brook and ocean. Hot tubs and infrared sauna are also available for surcharge. - "We were to be in the Green Chalet (the word chalet is quite misleading). Informed host we would be arriving late. Chalet could only be identified by the roof colour, which in the dark is not visible. A sign on the cabin would have been helpful. The breakfast (an additional charge) was watery scrambled eggs, cold pancakes, dry bread, frozen raspberries. The manager was to be in at 8:00, finally showed up at 8:25. The other staff were unable to assist with check-in. As a result, we were unable to make it to our Celtic Colours reservation on time to participate. The cabin itself was dirty (fans, etc)."

You can go whale watching on a zodiac less than 10 minutes away. The Famous Cape Breton Highland National Park is only 15 minute drive from our place. Something new is the Gypsum Mine. Stop in and I will let you know everything there is to visit.

Our home is located just outside Cheticamp in Point Cross on Cap Breton Island. Our property is situated on top of a hill, so we have a fantastic ocean,mountain and valley view from our full wrap-around deck. spectacular sunsets!

6 minutes drive to village of Cheticamp, Cheticamp beach, whale cruises, entertainment, restaurants, 18-hole golf course, church and boardwalk. Cap Breton Highlands National Park.

Perched on a hilltop overlooking Grand Étang, Cedar Peak offers unparalleled vistas. Watch the sun rise over the highlands through the 13ft window while you sip coffee from the open-concept living area. After a day of exploring, unwind on the panoramic patio as the sun sets over the ocean. Cedar Peak is fully loaded with a full kitchen, home theatre, and many other amenities. I built this home to be a secluded, barrier-free chalet for the ultimate Cape Breton experience.

The space
My modern take on the classic A-Frame, Cedar Peak is a unique chalet that I designed and handcrafted from local white cedar. Everything from the cabinetry to the furniture is custom made on-site, with the goal of building a stunning, barrier-free accommodation that can be enjoyed by all. Cedar Peak is decorated with works by local Cape Breton artists.

Drive directly up to the front porch to access the step-free entrance to Cedar Peak. An accessible boardwalk wraps around the house to the patio overlooking Grand Étang, the Cape Breton highlands, and the ocean. The boardwalk continues to connect the patio to the lookout: a panoramic viewing platform overlooking Squirrel Mountain.

Enter in to the open-concept living space which is easy to navigate for those requiring barrier-free access. The A-frame's vaulted ceiling lets in copious amounts of natural light. The space features a dining nook with wrap-around seating and bench. Moving the bench provides access for utilization of a wheelchair. The microwave, glassware, food storage containers, oils & spices are all located in the cabinet on right side of nook.

The kitchen is equipped with a full-size stove, oven, fridge & dishwasher. Coffee maker, grinder, moka pot, kettle, coffee, tea, sugar, milk & cream are all included. Small appliances include a toaster, blender & Kitchen-Aid stand mixer. Dishes, cutlery, utensils, pots & pans are all found in the drawers to the right of the oven.

Living room seating provides a comfortable space for viewing the entertainment center, or watching the sunrises and sunsets from the 13 foot window. The entertainment center includes a 75" Sony 4K TV with home theatre system and full size Yamaha Keyboard. The Guide Book can be found located to the left of the TV.

From the barrier-free hallway you will gain access to the Bathroom on the left, Nook Bedroom straight ahead, and Master Bedroom on the right. The Master Bedroom with king size bed features a 55" Sony 4K TV, Taylor guitar, and ample storage space with a dresser and armoire. The Nook Bedroom with a queen size bed features a 42" TV and ample storage space in the drawers below the bed and shelving for luggage above.

The bathroom includes 2 sinks, one with access for a wheelchair. Grab bars are located around the comfort level toilet. Try out the towel warmer for a cozy experience on a chilly day! The roll-in shower has grab bars and a shower bench and includes both an adjustable hand-held shower and rain shower head.

Guest are welcome in all spaces except utility closet within the chalet, and the shed located on the property.

Other things to note
Cedar Peak is in an area of extreme weather, with winds that can reach speeds of 250km/h+. It is located on a hill that is not protected from the elements. During a wind storm it will be extremely loud and I will have to close the shutters, which blocks the view from the large window. I will notify you as soon as I am aware of a impending storm, and you will have the option to cancel penalty free.

Also, I may be on the property doing landscaping, maintenance or accessing the shed, which is located 100 ft from the Chalet.

We’re minutes away from Inverness, Cabot Links & the most beautiful beaches on our island
This unit sleeps 6 comfortably but has the option to sleep an additional 2 on sofabeds if sharing a smaller space is not a concern

We’re the perfect last stop when travelling the Cabot Trail from East to the West side of the island & we’re only a short drive to the mainland when leaving or if you prefer to start your Cape Breton adventure travelling up the west coast we are on your way to the Cabot Trail

The space
This is a 3 bedroom/1 bathroom loft style chalet. Bedroom upstairs is an open loft with a queen bed, queen pullout couch & a twin pullout couch. 2 bedrooms downstairs with a double bed in each room and also on the main level is a couch

The Tan Chalet sleeps up to 9 people, gives you 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a space to relax and a fully equipped kitchen. It's also wheelchair accessible. We are located on the Cabot Trail, about a 40 minute drive from the Cape Breton Highlands National Park. You can also bring your furry friend for an additional $15 a night. We rent kayaks, canoes and paddle boards as have a Bistro on site. Hot tub is available on the deck.

The space
Your chalet is part of the whole Cabot Shores Wilderness Resort with gardens, forest, apple orchard, Church Pond and access to the Atlantic Ocean. If you like the great outdoors, you can go for walks and swims, rent a kayak, canoe or paddle board, explore waterfalls with two hikes out the door, have a fire under the stars... Or if you're playing an instrument, jam on the stage in our lodge. Or take some time and relax in a hot tub, join us for morning meditation and more.

While staying with us, you have access to two big common rooms in our main lodge. Downstairs you'll find a ping pong/pool table, books and games. Upstairs we have a great room with a big wood stove, comfy couches, lots of books, free wifi and this is also where our Bistro is located. We serve breakfast and dinner, both featuring homemade and as often as possible homegrown food from our organic garden. Packed lunches are available after request, too.

Other things to note
There is no cell reception in Indian Brook. A few kilometers up and down the road, reception is available if needed. Otherwise we have a landline our guests can use and free wifi in the main lodge.
