In the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Cordwood Chalet is on an 8 acres property. The surrounding neighbourhood consist of mostly acreages mountains and forest. Our crystal clear blaeberry river is minutes walk from the chalet where incredible views of the surrounding can be observe. Hiking, biking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, snowmobiling are few of several outings that can be done in the area. Our house is about 300 meters away from the Cordwood Chalet. The Chalet has its own driveway and is completely self-sufficient. We like to greet guests upon arrival. Although we respect their privacy, we are available for them at anytime for questions or comments. English ,French and Spanish is spoken

- "We were two families with teenage boys. This location was perfect for us to get access to the ski hill. Home was beautiful and well stocked. So much room, way too much for the six of us but what can you do!Beds and linens were all in good shape.Only complaint would be the remotes and Tvs. Most remotes didn’t work and there were no spare batteries that we could find. Couldn’t cast to the master bedroom tv. Minor issue considering we were there to enjoy the outside but it’s worth a mention so hopefully next visitors don’t have the same issue.Hope to return!"

This is the lower unit of our ski chalet duplex with the best ski-in/ski-out on the mountain right onto Grandfathers Trail. The other side of the house has a sweeping gorgeous view of the sunrise, Green Mountain and greenbelt with creek below. Ten foot ceilings, an open floor plan, mountain decor, lots of warm wood and cozy furnishings provide a rustic-modern feel. The rental unit is accessed from your parking by one flight of stairs down to the door.

This ski chalet beautifully sleeps, dines and lounges 8 people. The large kitchen is thoughtfully designed and thoroughly furnished by a fantastic cook who loves to entertain a crowd. Radiant heat in the floor and a propane fireplace keep you cozy. The deck off the kitchen has a stunning view and is equipped with a large hot tub for 6 and propane barbeque. Two queen bedrooms and a bunk area for 4, all with cozy flannel duvets, make a perfect situation for two families or a group of 8.

Other things to note;
We are on well water. Some guests may not prefer the taste, but it is completely safe for drinking. We do provide some bottled water for guests upon arrival.
Cell phone reception is sketchy out here so be sure you check directions. Enabling wifi calling can be helpful.
We do have animals on our side of the property including Roosters and goats. Guests may here some crowing or baahing from the guest house. ☺️

The Stag chalet is a 2 story 1 1/2 bath chalet set in the forest on a quiet country road. Creek side, there is nothing to disturb your tranquility. Except the wildlife! In our local Boreal forest we have 3 types of owl that you will hear , but may not see and at least 6 types of woodpeckers, who aren't shy! Pine martens, deer and all sorts of small forest critters live in the forest surrounding the chalet.
The Kitchen; we understand that you love to cook but need a full kitchen to do it well. From a coffee grinder, blender, sharp knives, to a garlic press we've tried to think of everything, but will be happy to acquire anything that we may have forgotten! We also supply gourmet Kicking Horse coffee, a french press and a percolator.
Our surrounding area; Golden is amazing, truly. Situated in the massive Columbia Valley, known as the Valley of a Thousand Peaks, Golden sits in the center of 6 of Canada's most awesome National Mountain Parks. Golden Base Camp is 10 minutes from town and 25 minutes from world class skiing at Kicking Horse Mountain resort. Golden itself offers, golfing, rafting, kayaking, paragliding, parasailing, mountain biking, you name it you could probably find it here!

Each chalet features two upstairs bedrooms, both with balconies.
The lake facing bedroom is equipped with a king size bed and two extra long twin beds . The bedroom to the rear features a queen size bed and two extra long twin beds.

Each chalet can sleep a maximum of 8 guests, but is most comfortable for up to 6 guests.

Roomy balcony to the lake and covered decks to three sides allow you to safely store your children's beach toys and under roof laundry lines make it easy to dry your beach towels and swim wear.
The chalets are equipped with your convenience in mind.

- "The photos really don’t even do this place justice — it is the absolute perfect destination for a peaceful getaway from the chaos of daily life. Sitting on the deck for hours and watching the sun set on the mountains was a highlight. Having the downstairs TV area was great to hangout after the sun went down. The BBQ was a nice touch even though we didn’t get a chance to use it. Major bonus points for having an espresso machine too. What’s better than a freshly made latte in the mountains? Beds were comfy. House was easy to get in and out of as we were there in the summer months. A quick 12-15 mins drive to downtown Nelson which was a gorgeous journey along the lake. As you would expect, every restaurant we frequented was incredible. I have nothing but great things to say about the whole experience! Definitely take a trip to Nelson, and absolutely stay in this cozy little cabin!"

The space
This modern home feels nothing like your traditional log cabin. With an open floor plan, vaulted ceilings, great bedroom separation, and several multi-purpose rooms, you will find the space perfect for larger groups. The spacious kitchen makes nightly feasts a breeze while the outdoor wet bar makes for fantastic days by the pool. The home is set-up with a dry sauna, gym, Peloton, ping pong table, bocce, a plethora of board games, and a take-a-book-leave-a-book library. And yes, we have pool floaties for you.

For bedroom configuration, take a look at the floor plan in the photos. The home features two master bedrooms, one on each floor, with en-suite bathrooms and each with a king size bed. There are two more private bedrooms on the main floor, along with two additional full bathrooms and one more bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The loft area is also set-up to accommodate up to four kids in the 'treehouse' as we affectionately call it.

There is reliable fibre optic WiFi, smart TV's (no cable but netflix), and a desk for the poor souls that have to do a bit of work on vacation.

This is a home that we actually rented ourselves. We loved it so much that we bought it. We spend a fair bit of time here and we hope you love it as much as we do.

* The hot tub is a wood burning and only available for use from November to March.

* Wildfire refund policy: in the event that provincial legislation restricts travel to the area, we will offer a full refund for booked days regardless of our AirBnB refund policy.

Please note, while the house is very kid friendly, this home is located on a bench with ravines down both sides. The yard off the house is fenced and quite safe, but if you do walk the vineyards (which we welcome you to do as long as don't pick the grapes), we encourage you to exercise caution with young children.
