It is a beautifully designed ranch house with an equally stunning view of the mountains of Banff National Park. Set on 480 acres of foothills between Calgary and Banff/Canmore, the ranch sleeps 10 people. This is our hiking and skiing basecamp.
THE RANCH HISTORY:
According to the Cochrane Historical Society, our ranch was first created in 1889 and was known back then as 'The Ripley.' The first family that owned it raised Galloway and Hereford Cattle in the valley and had built a house, a stable and lime kiln by what they called 'Ripley Creek', now known as Baymar Creek, which empties into Ghost River. Old First Nations trails cross our ranch as well as old and current wildlife trails. When the Palliser expedition came from the north in 1858 to go through the Banff area, they crossed Deadman's Hill, which essentially is the hill or ridge that our house and our cabin are situated. It was called Deadman's Hill because of a First Nation story of a major battle along the Ghost River (Formerly Deadman's River).
The space:
You will not find another ranch house designed like this. It has massive log beams holding up the roof and floor to ceiling windows on the south and west sides.
The ranch house itself is actually two buildings (main house and the guest house) connected with a large outdoor covered patio space that we call the breezeway.
The main house is a fully open space with logs arranged to form 2 adjacent hexagons, 12 inch thick cement walls that encase floor-to-ceiling windows across the south and west sides of the structure. It has a large wood-burning fireplace in addition to the in-floor heating to create a cozy space when you relax on the couches or the murphy bed. The kitchen is fully functional, with the centre-piece of it being a 15 foot long island. The main house bathroom is stunning with a huge bathtub and shower area and tile throughout.
The guest house contains 4 bedrooms with a total of 2 king sized beds (they split into 2 twin beds each), 1 queen sized bed and 4 single beds. It has warm cork flooring, its own 1/2 bath and high ceilings. It is much more utilitarian and simple than the main house.
Around the house you will find a rundle stone patio on the southwest side with a firepit and seating around it. Between the two buildings is the 800 square foot breezeway, with a 16 foot long handcrafted wood table with benches (created using timber from the property).
Guest access:
Guests will have access to the ranch house and the land. There is a log cabin on the property, but it is not available for use.

The area:
The ranch and the area that it is located is the foothills of Alberta, the land just before the start of the rocky mountains. The ranch house sits on the top of a ridge about 25 km west of the mountains, which can be seen from the house and many other vantage points across the property.
The area is pristine wilderness and ranch lands, with forested foothills covering most of the area except for the bottom of the valley where native grasses are predominant.
There is a significant amount of wildlife that call this area home. This includes black bears, grizzly bears, deer, wolves, cougars, elk, moose, coyotes, badgers, hawks, bald eagles etc.
Just 2 km hike to the north of the ranch house is the Ghost River and to the south about 10 km is Ghost Lake, which is a reservoir with inflow from the Bow and Ghost Rivers.
On a clear day you can see downtown Calgary to the east and if you look to the west you will see a wide swath of mountains, including devil's head and devil's gap, which is the valley leading to Lake Minnewanka of Banff National Park.
Getting around:
Our ranch is a rural property so having a vehicle to get to and from the ranch is a must. If you come in the winter, having a vehicle such as an SUV is a very good idea since the drive way is a 2 km long gravel road that is snow plowed, but requires good ground clearance and good tires.
Other things to note:
ATV's, snowmobiles, motorbikes or any off-road vehicles are not allowed to be used at the ranch. It is protected land under the Nature Conservancy of Canada.

This two story RENOVATED townhouse, 982 ft sq, is located in a boutique resort with only 46 units called Mystic Springs. The complex features the largest outdoor swimming pool in Canmore, giant hot tub, and a beautiful inner courtyard.
Our front row unit is south facing with a mountain view from the Master Bedroom. There are two bedrooms and two full bathrooms upstairs and the kitchen, living room and dining room downstairs. The space features beautiful high vaulted ceilings and mountain views. 10 minutes walk to downtown Canmore and 20 minute drive to Banff.
SWIMMING POOL & HOT TUB
Located in the center of the courtyard is a gated pool. The is factually the largest outdoor pool in Canmore. It is heated and open year-round, from 8am to 10pm. There is also a giant hot tub. Pool towels are provided at the unit.
IN THE UNIT
You enter the unit via a private keyless entrance. The open concept kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils and dishes. It features granite countertops and modern stainless-steel appliances. There is an oversized fridge, glass stove, oven, microwave, and a dishwasher. There is a coffee maker, kettle, toaster, blender, and more. The dining room table seats 6 people comfortably. There is a shared BBQ and picnic tables outside in the inner courtyard for your enjoyment.
The living room has large fold-out sofa, a 55" TV with access to Disney+, Netflix, and Amazon Prime, there is also a riverstone electric fireplace. You can walk out of the living room onto an outside patio with lounging chairs where you to enjoy the incredible mountain views and relax after a busy day of exploring.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Master bedroom has a king size bed, attached en-suite bathroom, 50" TV, and true mountain views (see photos). Separated by a long corridor is the guest bedroom with two double beds with a full bathroom right outside the door in the hallway. There is an extra fold-out queen size sofa in the living room. Towels and bed linens are provided.
Back door leads to an outside patio with two lounging chairs, sit and enjoy incredible mountain views after a busy day of exploring. Front door opens onto spacious well-maintained courtyard with large outdoor heated pool, hot tub, picnic tables, and shared BBQs.

This townhouse is ideally located with the balcony and living room facing Mount Rundle and the back door facing a treed sitting & BBQ area. The entire townhouse is fully renovated and awaits your visit to explore the vast trail system right out the back door. If skiing is your thing Norquay is a 12 minute drive, Sunshine is 28 minutes and Lake Louise is 55 minutes. There are also endless x-country trails out the back door or at the world famous Canmore Nordic Centre. In the summer there are endless hiking trails, biking trails, rock climbing routes, scrambles and world class sight seeing around the complex or in Canmore and Banff. Venture out to the world famous Banff National Park to visit Banff and Lake Louise for endless adventure. We are happy to help recommend things to do. The space
This majestic townhouse is 800 sq feet and is beautifully renovated with a private entrance and back yard with firepit and BBQ. The view of the mountains out of the master bedroom, deck and main floor living room is unparalleled. We use this place often so have done many upgrades that rental-only places don't get:
-Brand new Endy Beds
-55" Smart TV in the living room and 43" smart TV in the master bedroom (both equipped with full cable TV, Netflix and Prime).
-There are excellent quality knife sets, cooking utensils, a crock-pot, wok, coffee, tea, sugar, oil, salt and pepper etc.
-Touchless soap dispensers.
-There is a Keurig coffee maker in the master bedroom so you can sip on some java while watching the morning sun hit Mount Rundle.
-Brand new appliances.
-In-floor heating to warm your feet on the main floor and a gas fireplaces surrounded by river rock.
-A cabinet stocked with games to entertain you in the evening.
-A BBQ and firepit in the back for cooking and relaxing (propane is supplied for the BBQ's).
-If you want to work from the mountains instead of the city, we have a dedicated Shaw high speed internet connection.
-We even have a Kryptonite lock in the back to lock up you bikes (the trails right from the complex are amazing).
-A ski closet at the front door or keep them in/on your vehicle in the safely lit parking lot.

Beds: We often get questions on the bed situation. There are two bedrooms upstairs. Each has a queen bed and one also has a Twin XL on an upper bunk (best for kids or teens as you have to climb a ladder which is rated for under 150lbs). The bunk is a full twin XL (36x80") bed. Full bathroom upstairs. On the main floor there is a queen pullout couch and another full bathroom.

This unit is a lower unit, so there is not a big patio and the bedrooms and bath are small, but the home is clean and has everything you need to make this a good base camp for your adventures. Banff and Lake Louise are a 30 - 40 minute drive. Calgary is about an hour. Host was available if needed and offered National Park passes to guests."

The owners were a dream to deal with, very attentive and responsive to all questions. The place itself was immaculate and had all the comforts of home. Even the painted artwork on the walls was beautiful. Details throughout to make your stay as easy as possible. The hot tub is hot ! and very big, the year round pool was a perfect 28 degrees and massive. It was also shallow so perfect for kids. We didn’t use the barbecues but there were a couple. You’re minutes away to anything in Canmore and an easy drive to the amazing Johnston Canyon which is a sight to see anytime of the year. This place is now on our list of spots to enjoy in Canmore. They even had ice in the freezer for our cocktails and wine glasses. Cheers!"

If you are into Trains, some great views of the Canadian Pacific transcon traffic can be seen right from the porch!" - "The house is a town house. From the outside it’s just ok, but once inside it’s a very house. The 3 bedrooms are comfortable, the kitchen is fine and with a nice dining table, and the living room is small but with a fire place and a huge TV The location is great; there are plenty of restaurants and a Safeway nearby. Plus 45 minutes driving from the ski areas Also really great is that there are 2 passes to the National Parks you can use, which saves you money I would be amiss if I wouldn’t mention the proximity to the railroad track. Once in a while a train passes, and you can definitely hear it. At first I thought it would bother us but it ended up not being too bad We would stay here again"

Enjoy all the best of Harvie Heights from this deluxe two Chalets nestled in Harvie heights. The two townhouses are just 10 steps away , each with their own separate entrance. The units are identical and each has 1 full bathroom and 1 bathroom with shower , a full kitchen and a living room with a sofa bed, fireplace and TV with Netflix . 6 bedroom chalet just a quick drive to Wabamun Provincial park and boat launch! Enjoy the peaceful country setting in your private hot tub or gather around the fire pit! Surroundings include a private pond with a large lit fountain feature! Plenty to entertain indoors including a pool table, ping pong table, 3 large tv’s.

From skiing or riding, to hiking the many trails in and around Canmore and Banff National Park, this townhome is perfect any time of year. It is in a great location. Within walking distance and right on the path to many restaurants, shops, and beautiful walks in and around town.
Stay in and enjoy the cozy living room fireplace and the amazing views of the surrounding mountains. On a nice summer day enjoy the fresh air and views on our spacious deck.

This mountain lodge is located down town Canmore. You will be greeted with a stunning rustic cabin interior. The lodge features 2 floors.
FIRST FLOOR
~ Private suite includes a king bed, pull out couch, private room with a bunk bed, private full bath and access to the outdoor garden and patio.
~Living space and common area with a gas fireplace. You will find board games, books and helmets for the bikes in the wardrobe.
~Two half baths.
~Full kitchen that backs onto a private patio. The kitchen features new appliances, quartz counter tops, cooking utensils, cutlery, dishes and a large 2 door fridge.
SECOND FLOOR- 4 Suites
~ The first private suite includes a king bed and gas fireplace, private room with a queen bed, 4 piece ensuite and a private patio with a hammock.
~Second private suite with a queen and sofa bed. As well as a 4 piece ensuite and private patio with a hammock.

This mountain lodge is located just off Canmore`s Main Street. You will be able to walk to the local shops and restaurants.
We suggest renting a car to drive around the beautiful Canadian Rockies! You can also bike 45 mins to the town of Banff on the famous Banff Legacy Trail featuring breathtaking views, covered picnic areas, the Banff town site, and a variety of rest spots along the way.
Just a 10 minute walk from the Canmore Community Center and Elevation Place, Canmore`s indoor playground featuring a great climbing gym, fitness gym, a large swimming pool and hot tub, and the Canmore Library.

Long-Stay Policy:
For reservations of 10 nights or longer, a mid-stay cleaning is required. This ensures the suite remains fresh, comfortable, and well-maintained throughout your stay. The cleaning includes a full refresh of the unit and allows us to check that everything is in proper working order. Guest will be contacted during the booking process or shortly after booking to arrange a convenient time.

- "Easton check in" - "The property was very clean and had all the amenities required. It backs right onto the railway though and trains passing in the night can be quite loud, so maybe best to bring earplugs. There is no central AC, but there are portable air conditioners. One of the rooms doesn't have a wall, it's just open into the living room area, so a little less privacy than expected. Overall it was a good place to stay." - "The property was extremely small with portable or conditioners taking up what little space there was in the bedroom with a huge exhaust hose going through windows! They advertised that there was two bathrooms with a shower in each bathroom. There was 1 shower/tub combination in 1 bathroom and only a toilet and sink in the other. Our group of 6 adults had a tough time getting ready each day. The tiny deck was worthless! The tiny townhouse apartment was clean and in a convenient location!"

-There is only 1 assigned parking stall per unit in the Mystic Springs complex. If you are traveling with a larger group with more than 1 vehicle, any additional vehicles will need to park on the free street parking surrounding the complex as we only have 1 parking pass to share per reservation.
Our home comfortably sleeps 10 guests with 1 King size bed in the master bedroom, 1 Full size bed and a full size double on double bunk bed in the second bedroom and a brand new queen pullout couch in the living room. All beds complete with fresh clean sheets changed after every single guest.
Complimentary Wi-Fi, Netflix, spices, tea and coffee. Our state-of-the-art kitchen comes fully loaded with brand new stainless steel appliances such as a microwave, fridge, electric stove, oven, and dishwasher along with glasses, mugs, dishes and cutlery.

-The Mystic Springs parking lot is reserved for ONLY ONE registered vehicle of guests and owners per unit. Effective March 1, 2025, the lot will be regularly monitored by Park-It Solutions, a third-party parking enforcement company. Each unit is permitted to register one vehicle. Please locate the Park-It Solutions QR code in the unit to register your vehicle by license plate number. Additional vehicles may be parked on neighboring streets where parking is permitted.

1. Sign our short-term rental agreement
This is a standard document that outlines the terms of your stay, our house rules, and general policies. It protects both parties and helps us maintain the quality of our homes and guest experiences. The rental agreement will be sent automatically after your reservation is confirmed and can be signed digitally in just a few clicks.
2. Complete ID verification
All guests are required to verify their identity through our secure platform. This one-time step helps us ensure the safety of our community and property, and only takes a few minutes.
3. Choose your damage protection option
You’ll have two options to finalize your booking:
– Pay a $50 CAD non-refundable damage waiver, which provides up to $700 CAD in coverage for accidental damage during your stay.
OR
– Choose a refundable $700 CAD security deposit, which is a pre-authorized hold on your credit card taken 2 days before check-in and released automatically 5 days after check-out, provided there is no damage or violation of house rules.
Please note: A 2% processing fee is retained by our payment processor, so the refunded amount will be $686 CAD. However, if you cancel your reservation before the deposit is processed, you will not be charged this fee.
Completion of these steps is required to finalize your booking prior to receiving check in instructions and entry codes.
There is keyless entry to the home which a code will be provided to you after you book with us.
Please remember that you're staying in our home, not a hotel. Please treat the place with respect. If any problems arise, we will do our best to take action ASAP, but there is no one living on site 24/7.
Please note that profiles with a lower review rating than 4 stars will not be allowed to book our property on an instant book basis and if for whatever reason the reservation confirms through the system, the reservation may be cancelled. For guests with new profiles without reviews, these requests will be reviewed manually and will be subject to screening and questioning before a reservation may be confirmed.

This fabulous property boasts 4 bedrooms, including 2 king beds, 1 queen bed, and 1 bunk bed with a bottom double and a top single for sleeping accommodations for 9 people. Three bathrooms are fully equipped with a 4th half bathroom for visitors.
Dining inside is easy in the open concept kitchen with the comfort of a spacious living room with a toasty fireplace for winter evenings.
There is a sunny patio deck with a dining table and entertaining seating for 8-10 guests on spring days & summer nights. A private deck of the primary 2nd floor suite also offers a cozy sitting area. Additionally the hot tub on the back patio is a welcome relaxing break after a day of skiing.
The main floor also features an extra family room with TV, game console, and space to relax.
This home is located in Three Sisters with easy access to skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and all the outdoor amenities of Canmore, Banff and the Canadian Rockies.
