The kitchen was clean and had everything we required for our three night stay. The fridge had quite a bit of food in it, which we found a little odd, and could have done with a good wipe down. That said, the cottage is lovely and so easy to access Elora, I would definitely stay there again."

This older single detached house has a newer ground floor addition at the rear. We live and sleep on the ground floor.

The second floor has 3 bedrooms and full bathroom for guest use only.

The guest areas are NOT shared.

The price and number of bedrooms is based on occupancy.

Guests have use of the left driveway, front porch, courtyard and access to the garden.

There is a guest driveway leading to the front porch, front entry door and is capable of holding 2 regular sized cars.

There is free street parking during the Spring, Summer and Autumn months.

Guest access
The property is split in two, separating guests from owners. There are two separate driveways and entrances.

Guests park in the left driveway and gain access through the front door with access to the foyer, stairs and the entire second floor. We share the foyer to access our bedroom.

Guests have sole use of the left driveway, front porch & courtyard - you are welcome to walk about the garden where you can access the Arboretum and Trails.

Other things to note
For our security, guests must have a profile photo in order stay with us and to Auto Book. You must also list (Airbnb verified) any additional guests who are not family members.

Due to abuse, we no longer accept third part bookings (agents). The person making the reservation must be in attendance throughout the reservation.

We block off same day bookings at 5 pm and sometimes block off days for cleaning etc. Do not hesitate to contact us, after 5 pm or if that one day you need is not available, as we may be able to get it ready for you.

There may be a very friendly cat in the house, to be determined just prior to occupancy. He is not permitted in the Guest area. From the foyer, you may hear him meow for attention, however, rest assured he is well cared for.

This is an older house therefore the stairs are narrow and steep plus the old wood floors creak.

The space
Our two-storey home is newly built (2024) with superior lament floors, 9 foot ceilings, large ceramic tiled walk in shower with glass doors, granite counter top and modern fixtures. Just one step up to the covered porch with private sitting area. The bedroom and bathroom are completely private from the rest of the home. There are no shared spaces with the host.

The bedroom and bathroom are just in the front door completely private from the main home. We do not share other areas of the home. A door key code will be provided via AIRBNB messages prior to your arrival. If you arrive in the dark, pressing the lock button on the keypad will light it up.

We enjoy meeting our guests and if there are any questions of any kind we are always there for you.
If you prefer no interaction that is fine too.

There are near by walking trails as well as many restaurants and unique shops in both Fergus and Elora.

(Enter through the private entrance into the necessary comforts for an ideal stay on the bank of the Grand River in historic Fergus, Ontario. A short walk to downtown Fergus and nearby walking trails. A five minute drive will bring you to downtown Elora to explore many shops and restaurants. Within a five to 10 minute drive enjoy more beauty of the Elora Gorge or Bellwood lake conservation area or Cox Cedar Cellars .

The space
ideal space with private space to work from home. Enjoy the unique queen size sofa bed with lounge feature to unwind after a busy day. When its time to retire enjoy your king size posturepedic mattress that cushions you as you sleep. We have a shower only in bathroom.. no bathtub. The shower has a low ceiling which makes life a challenge. It is doable as the shower has a hand held feature.

There is a french door XL digital Air Fryer Oven for all your cooking needs. There is also a XL mini fridge. . Freezer portion is very small . There is an electric skillet to create either breakfast or dinner entrees. We are on a septic system and the water is pumped out to the septic bed. It is a bit noisy but only lasts 3 seconds .

Built in 1867, our attached carriage house has been renovated into a studio apartment. It has a private bath, complete kitchen, sitting area, in-floor heat, coffee and tea. Main living room has good space to relax and watch the 68 inch television with cable and Netflix available. There are plenty of board games to choose from, along with a table and chairs for you to enjoy your meals.

The kitchenette/laundry room gives the necessities that you need. Start your day with a selection of Keurig coffee options or boil the kettle for some soothing tea. The selection of dishes and cutlery along with microwave can help with any meal needs. The small fridge has good amount of room to keep drinks and food cool while also having a good freezer compartment. Detergent pods available if there is a need to use washer and dryer.

The patio under the main deck is your private space to relax and enjoy the garden and forest view. There are Adirondack chairs that circle the fire pit with plenty of wood to be used.

This is an in-law suite attached to our family home. Don't be fooled though, it is very private! Park in your private parking spot and take the path to your patio where you will find the private entrance to the apartment. Inside you will find a combination of modern design with rustic décor and all of the amenities you will need for your short or long term stay. We are a family of 6 however with a dog so there will be bangs and running on the stairs from time to time that you will hear, albeit muffled.

The apartment is sound proof insulated from the main residence but kids will still be kids and it is likely that you will hear a bang or a yell from time to time but we promise it wont be often or loud if it happens. The most likely family member you will meet is our dog Marley, an absolute love filled bernedoodle. We are happy to ensure that doesn't happen though. With your private parking and entrance there is no need to interface with us at all unless of course you want too, in that case we are always here to help.

The property hosts a Victorian style home, lovely gardens, a stocked pond and a private studio guest cabin with water views. Guests will stay in the private cabin with an attached dock and private fire pit. There is a larger dock by the house with Muskoka chairs and lounge beds that guests are also welcome to use. The cabin has a comfortable queen sized bed, breakfast bar, and cabinet with glassware, plates, utensils and towels. There is a small BBQ for use. The half bath is located in a small building adjacent to the cabin and has a compostable toilet and sink. There is no shower access. The cabin is about 70 metres from the parking area and we are happy to help our guests with their luggage when they arrive.

Our two-storey home is newly built (2024) with superior lament floors, 9 foot ceilings, large ceramic tiled walk in shower with glass doors, granite counter top and modern fixtures. In floor heat keeps you toasty warm. Everything you need for short or long term stays. A beautiful fully furnished apartment , private entrance, kitchen equipment and covered patio to make your long term stay enjoyable.

Guests are able to enjoy this full legal apartment as well as the walk-out patio and a portion of the back yard. The side entrance to the downstairs has a door key code, which will be provided via AIRBNB messages prior to your arrival.
