A brand new building, built like an old English-style stone house, located in the countryside, approximately 1 hour from downtown Toronto. The house is great for entertaining or just for getting away from it all with a group of friends or family. With a gaming room, projection theatre room. Sleep under the stars on a 111 acre tree farm. This rustic experience allows you to live off-grid and among nature. There are a number of trails and naturalized areas to explore as well as a number of close-by amenities within a 5 minute drive including 2 ski resorts, apple picking, farmers markets and hiking trails. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to not require a long travel commitment, this place is a great way to relax and unwind.

The property is a 111 acre farm with many forested and naturalized areas for exploration.

The yurt has a queen sized bed and is heated with a wood stove. There is a small kitchenette and a sitting area inside the yurt. The bathroom is located in a shed outside the yurt. The bathroom contains a high end compost toilet and a sink but does not have a shower.

Outside of the yurt is a fire pit and some chairs. It is a great place to sit and relax as well as cook.

Guests have access to the entire property except for the large barn and house on the farm.
Other things to note
It is important to note that the yurt is heated only by woodstove use which requires guests to be proficient at starting and maintaining fire. Wood will be provided.

This yurt is off-grid which means that the only power available is solar and battery power. This type of power allows for lights and a charging station. Also because the yurt is off-grid, the water available for use is in jugs (one inside the yurt and one inside the bathroom). The property does not contain a shower.

Also please realize that the property is a working farm. Although the yurt is away from the crop growing areas, it is possible that you may come across farm employees and equipment if you explore the property. All farm equipment is off limits for any guests.

20 Acres of forest with over 1km of trails. 2 large ponds for skating and swimming and less than 15 minutes from Newmarket, Uxbridge and Mount Albert where you can enjoy wine and cider tasting, fine dining and local theater. Also, Uxbridge is known to be the trail capital of Canada so biking, hiking and other activities are plentiful.

You can also warm up on those cool nights with the sauna or try polar dipping. The hosts would be happy to assist you with the Polar Dipping experience if requested.

➤ My place does come with heating and A/C, but I can't promise you'll hit that comfy spot if your ideal temp is below 17 or above 25 degrees Celsius. And, you know how it is with short-term rentals – folks are always coming and going. So, I can't guarantee a flawless run all the time because, truth be told, some guests tend to go overboard and push the systems to the point where repairs are needed.

1. There is no front desk as this is a house property. Please contact me via Airbnb messenger for any questions.

2. Smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited on the property, including the balcony if there is one. ($400 fine for smoke odor removal)

3. Please be cautious of noise, especially after 9 pm. Noise complaints are not tolerated and may result in full deposit charges. You may be asked to leave with no refund.

4. No additional guests are allowed in the home past the indicated number on your booking confirmation. This rule is to prevent large gatherings & parties and be fair to guests who do pay the extra fees. Third-party bookings are not allowed.

5. The property must be maintained in good condition with no excessive mess. Extra cleaning costs may apply if necessary so we can effectively prepare for the next guests.

6. Please note that check-out time is by 11 am and keys must be placed as instructed. I often accommodate late check-outs if I know in advance, but last-minute changes may result in a $50 charge per each additional half-hour stay.

7. All bookings require the Primary guest's photo ID and the complete names of the guests above 18 years of age.

8. Lost keys/fob is a $300 fee to reimburse time, parts, labour, and administration involved.

9. Please treat the hot tub with care. If it is left in a condition that renders it unusable for the next guest, a $300 fee will apply for draining, cleaning, and refilling.

Immerse yourself in rustic charm at our handcrafted cabin, where every detail tells a story. I personally built this entire cabin, pouring passion into every nail and beam. Much of the wood material was sustainably sourced from the surrounding forest and milled right here on our hobby farm. The roof and flooring, crafted with care, echo the natural beauty that surrounds you.

Sustainability:
I used as much recycled, and reclaimed materials as possible in the build instead of new materials. Even the wood floors and ceiling were milled from trees that died naturally in the very same forest the cabin is located. The cabin is totally off grid, and relies on a small solar panel to power the electronics of the incinerating toilet.

Cozy Interior with Forest Views:
Inside, a warm and inviting interior awaits. The open-concept living area features a wood-burning stove, ensuring cozy evenings. Large windows frame panoramic forest views, bringing the outdoors in as you relax in comfort.

Well-Equipped Kitchenette:
Prepare delightful meals in the small, but well-equipped kitchen, complete with a gas stove. Share your culinary creations in the dining area, surrounded by the beauty of the woods. Or if you prefer, order in from the many restaurants and Pizza joints in town. We can have your order brought right to your cabin.

Loft Bedroom and Extra Sleeping Space:
The cabin comfortably accommodates up to four guests. Upstairs, a loft-style bedroom boasts a queen-sized bed, while the lower level offers a cozy futon for additional sleeping space. Drift off to sleep to the gentle sounds of the forest. Please note you must be able to climb a ladder to access the loft.

Modern Amenities in Nature:
Our commitment to sustainability includes a modern toilet in a separate washroom building. Please note our toilet relies on solar power, during the winter and long stretches of cloudy weather, the battery may become depleted. We have battery back ups available so please let us know of any issues and we can rectify them right away.

The cabin is off grid and reflects the outside temperature. If it is cold, the cabin will initially be cold. In the summer, it may be warm. During the winter, we suggest lighting the fire right away, or let us know and we can have it started for you.

We provide a 2 gallon jug of clean filtered water for drinking or preparing coffee or tea. However, we ask that you bring any additional drinking water that you think you may need.

Spacious parking available in front of the main house at the property entrance. From there the cabin is a short walk towards the back of the property.

Other things to note
you must walk to the cabin from the parking lot, about 3-5 minute walk. However, we can usually help with transport of people and luggage with our farm side by side vehicle.

No running water or shower. 2 Gallon water jug is provided.

No electricity. Ample battery lanterns are provided. A 110 volt battery bank is provided for charging cell phones and other electronics.

This memorable place is anything but ordinary. This Bunkie has a queen bed with a beautiful morning view looking over a farm with rolling hills. This place is ideal for 2 people but there is a singe sofa couch that folds down and optional foam mattress can be added for additional children or visitors. There is a mini fridge inside and an outdoor kitchen where you can immerse yourself in nature cooking your meals under an old oak tree and eating at the picnic table. Note: no running water!

The space
The Bunkie is located on a 10 acre family hobby farm. The site is located near the back of the farm for the best views and privacy.

The hobby farm consists of chickens, goats, sheep, ducks, a bunny, cats and livestock guardian dog.

Guest access
We welcome folks visiting the animals during their stay, while being respectful of their space and pens. Some are free range and some are fenced, all are friendly. If you’d like farm fresh eggs for breakfast, just ask! We can offer a small tour and interaction with the goats etc when we are available.

Other things to note
There is no running water at the Bunkie, but water for drinking, washing, and cooking is provided. The bathroom is a clean outhouse tucked several feet beside the Bunkie.

At the moment there are no blinds on the windows to allow for a full appreciation of the view, the sunrise and moon.

Welcome to our property, home of the Uxbridge Canine & Equine Academy—a unique training facility where you may catch glimpses of mounted games horses and dogs navigating agility courses!

Centrally located between Uxbridge, Newmarket, and Sutton, our property offers the perfect blend of convenience and seclusion. Discover Uxbridge’s scenic trails and ski slopes, Newmarket’s vibrant dining and boutique shopping, or Sutton’s lakeside charm and sandy beaches. From hiking, biking, and paddling in the warmer months to snowshoeing, skiing, and cozy winter escapes, there’s something to enjoy year-round.

Please note: There is no Wi-Fi on the property. While TVs are available in the unit, they operate through streaming services and will not function without internet. Guests are welcome to use their own mobile hotspot or data plan if they wish to stay connected.

The suite is self contained with a private entrance that adjoins to deck of the main home. You’re welcome to relax on the outdoor patio and enjoy the comfortable seating area. Patio furniture cushions are stored in the deck box and should be put away after use. There are two parking spaces available.

Please note: The owners live on site on the main level of the home and have two small, friendly dogs, who may greet you during your stay. While they may bark to say hello or alert us to activity they are well behaved, and love meeting new people. As animal and nature lovers, we appreciate your understanding and hope you’ll enjoy the warmth and charm they bring to the property.

Historic Log home in a country oasis. Nestled in the forest with a large pool just outside the back door, and quick access to some of the most beautiful and exciting trails in southern Ontario. The inspiration for the house is a log home, originally built in 1815 and moved from Forest Hill, Toronto to its current beautiful and appropriate surroundings in 1995. Prior to it's dismantling, it was the oldest standing residential structure in Toronto which had a rich and fascinating history. Available for your perusal are many articles, letters and drawings with details of the log structure's storied history. It's fascinating to imagine the history the huge log beams have witnessed!

Available for rent is the full main floor of the house consisting of two bedrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen. Private separate entryway through the main front door and private access and use of the BBQ, and pool in the fenced back yard.

15 minutes from Slabtown Cider Co. known for their live music, craft cider, and delicious food with indoor/outdoor seating.
Walking distance from the famous bakery Anina's, stop by to grab some baked goods. Conveniently located across from where Schitt's Creek was filmed.

15 minutes drive to Lakeridge Ski and Resort with wide range of trails for skiing & snowboarding.

If you're not great at Skiing or snowboarding, they have snow tubing as well.

There are numerous Golfing facilities available as well.

This one acre property is nestled at the end of a court in a rural setting in the hamlet of Leaskdale. The guest suite is a fully self contained one bedroom unit with private entrance, keypad entry and is located in the lower level of the house. Hosts reside above. Guests have exclusive use of the property and its amenities during their stay including the outdoor pool and tiki bar (Victoria day weekend to Labour Day) outdoor dining patio, hot tub, and firepit (available year round).
