The lake is a bit weedy in the area but my kids spent everyday in the water. The lily pad was great and we rented a pontoon boat for two days which was really fun. A note: in the listing it shows the bunkie having a queen sized futon but currently has a small love seat with chaise. Vivian was super responsive when we needed to reach out to her. Looking for a peaceful escape to relax, unplug and unwind? Check out our newly renovated Lakeside Loft located on Reay Lake just outside of Gravenhurst in Muskoka. A wonderful place for a quiet romantic retreat for a couple, or a retreat for yourself! (Maximum 2 adults - minimum age 30).

Reay Lake is a lovely, quiet small non-motorized lake. It is perfect for relaxing lakeside without the worry or noise of motor boats and jet skis! Enjoy lakeside views, perennial garden views, nightly sunsets, private swim deck with 2 chaise lounges to relax, and your own fire pit for cozy evenings.
We are less than a two hour drive from the GTA . Gravenhurst is known as the gateway to Muskoka!

The Loft:
Upstairs
In this two level loft suite, upstairs you'll find a large open concept living/sleeping area complete with comfy beds (one queen bed and two twin beds). Bedding is provided. The living room has a sofa and chairs, DVD player & movies, Bluetooth speakers, satellite TV, electric fireplace, and a desk.

Downstairs
On the main level you'll find a new eat in kitchen and a 3 piece bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped with a new refrigerator, convection/air fryer/toaster oven, induction cooktop stove, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, blender, dining table and chairs, and a BBQ outside. (Please note although we offer many cooking options in the kitchen, it does not have a traditional oven).
We have a state of the art water filtration system and the water is fully drinkable right from the tap. Bath towels are provided.
The Muskoka area is prone to power outages, but this property has a generator, which means you won't be left in the dark!!

The Lake & outdoor areas:
This small tranquil Lake is spring fed and offers wonderful swimming and fishing. Paddle or leisurely float around the lake. We have a small deck at waters edge with a couple of lounge chairs to relax. Swimming is off to the side of the deck and we have a floating raft you are welcome to enjoy.
On the way down to the Lake is the fire pit area. There is a small deck with chairs to enjoy a cozy evening by the fire. Firewood and kindling provided.

The Area
We are approximately a10 minute drive to Gravenhurst, 15 mins to Bracebridge, 35 mins to Bala and 45 minutes to Port Carling.

Enjoy all that Muskoka has to offer; swimming, boating , hiking, biking, fishing, nearby golf courses, farmers markets & festivals great dining, shopping, historic sightseeing boat cruises at the Muskoka Wharf, The Gravenhurst Opera House, Santa's Village, ice cream shops, local winery, and local breweries. The only Muskoka Drive-In movie theatre is just a 5 minute drive down the road!

Some important things to note:
While we do offer complimentary WIFI, we are in a rural area and internet and cellular service can be slow and/ or inconsistent. Good time to relax, unplug and enjoy nature!

Owners live in adjacent house on the property - if you forgot/need anything please just ask!

We recently renovated the space above and behind our two car garage to create our cozy Lakeside Loft.

Loft Rental includes use of "party island", swimming noodles and life jackets. There are 2 kayaks also available to use .
This a quiet lake with year round residents & we ask that you please respect our neighbours. If you are looking for a place to have loud parties , this is not your place.

Guests must adhere to the current outdoor fire regulations in the area

Family vacation home, no adult parties! Fully equipped four season 3 bedroom +loft cottage on the lake, just 1,5 hours from GTA. Natural privacy, perfect sunsets on approximately 3 acres and 200 feet of private lakefront. Sandy beach with shallow entrance to the lake, good fishing. Large driveway with gated access to the cottage. Nature path leads to the common area with long dock and shared tennis court.

- "Spotlessly clean, lots of games and toys for the kids. No need to drag up baby things since the cottage is perfect for a toddler! Great beach area, lots of chairs fishing off the dock, kayaks, sup, canoe and floating trampoline and dock. The deck is completely screened in and that is a bonus. The landscaping is lovely .. such pretty colour flowers greeting us! So well situated btwn Gravenhurst and Orillia. Easy to get around and shop. The Wednesday farmers market in Gravenhurst is amazing for produce and fresh bakery items. Soaps and other wonderful things to shop for. The cottage is quite spacious and accommodated our group of 7 with ease. Only suggestion for improvement is perhaps a little outdoor shower, to rinse off after the beach so no sand tracks into the cottage. 10 out of 10 ... Hannah is always available and responds within moments ! We thoroughly enjoyed our time to exhale!"

The Muskoka Bay Resort is top-notch with a nice pool area, dining room, games room and outstanding golf course, all designed to accentuate the beauty and rock of the Canadian Shield. We enjoyed the firepit roasting S'mores! These amenities are very close to ScandinaVilla- just a short drive or even a nice walk. The Gravenhurst waterfront and steamship cruises are also close, although highway 169 is under construction near the boardwalk with a detour happening. We will definitely come back and would like to experience the area in the other seasons."

You will enjoy the peaceful feeling when you stay at the cottage, it’s just steps to your private dock, where you can fish or just jumping in to cool off. The cottages is on a dead end street. This cottage has 5 beds it’s about 3000 square feet. You can sit in the front for a cup of coffee and view the forest or the patio at the back and this beautiful waterfront property.

The top floor has a master Bedroom with a king size bed, the guest for has a queen size bed, 1.5 bedrooms and an ope concept with the living room dining room and kitchen.

The bottom unit has a separate entrance with 1 Bedroom with a queen bed and a Bunk bed that’s in the big open space with your living room and dining room.
There is one bathroom with a sick toilet and stand up shower. You also have a full beautiful kitchen with all stainless steel appliances.

Swimming is at your own risk it’s very deep right off the dock so if you are not a good swimmer I recommend a life jacket to be safe.
Absolutely nothing other than toilet paper in the toilets.

OFF-GRID EXPERIENCE
The Glamphouse is purposefully designed to disconnect, as follows:

No electricity or WIFI - there are battery-operated and solar-powered lights to illuminate the cabin both indoors and outdoors. We suggest turning your phone off and leveraging this time to ‘disconnect to reconnect’. If you would like to charge your phone, we suggest bringing a power pack or using your vehicle.

No running water - Water jugs are provided and replenished, with additional water accessible from the town supply tap, a short 5-minute drive away at the wharf. While there is no shower facility, an elegant outhouse with a composting toilet is located in a separate outhouse building. Daily use directions are provided in the outhouse.

No heating or cooling - We suggest you bring weather appropriate clothing and warmer clothes for cooler nights as there is no Heating or Air-Conditioning.

This is Muskoka and there are bugs (peak is mid-June to mid-August). Even with a screened in Gazebo bugs are present. Please come prepared.

Please be respectful of our neighbours. Sound carries and while the site is private there are neighbouring properties through the trees. Parties are not permitted at Glamphouse and only the guests registered on the booking and approved ahead of time are allowed at the site.

TAKE CARE -We kindly request that you treat our cherished cabin and personal belongings with respect. The space
Enjoy a cozy night in a large room in the Old Severn Inn, furnished with a King bed. A bright room, with two large windows, with a small fridge, Keurig, mugs & coffee, fresh bedding. A tv with blu-ray player and a large assortment of movies for your entertainment. Free wifi, we have upgraded our internet, so much faster. An adjoining 3 piece private bathroom, with fresh towel and basic toiletries. In main hall, there are books, games and movies to enjoy by all guests with a microwave, toaster and water cooler, as we do not provide breakfast so bring your bagels! There are two others rooms that can be rented, and all rooms are down a separate hallway away from any family. Our home is 115 years old so chances are you will hear creaking if someone is walking down hall, the charm of an old house! We have 400 feet of waterfront for you to relish in, swim, canoe, paddle boat, kayak, or fish. You could bring your own boat as there is a launch close by, and space at our dock for small boats. The Muskokas are beautiful in the winter as well!
We have a large yard with some outdoor activities eg. horseshoes and ring toss. There are places to sit or eat outdoors and a fire pit to enjoy in the evening.
We are located right off hwy 11, very easy to get to, you can hear the hi-way, but there is a ceiling fan and air conditioner in the room. Please feel free to lookup the Severn Inn to learn more about the history of our beautiful family home. We are located directly on the Severn River.

Guest access
Guest access is through a separate entrance at the front of the house. There is a staircase as the room is on the second floor, so please make sure you are ok with stairs. The code to room will be sent to you over Airbnb
prior to check-in time. Parking is located at the front of the house. The exit to Cowbell is very short, the next exit up, Manson, has a longer safer exit. During winter months, we may have you enter through main interior entrance just for safety, as outside steps can get icy.

During your stay
As we are new to Airbnb, we will be close by if in need of assistance. We are only ever a text or email away.

Other things to note
Please just keep in mind that the house is very old, the water may take a few minutes to warm up, the floors may creak, you will hear noise from hi-way, but the internet speed has been improved! We consider this charm! Please keep this in mind when booking. Cowbell is a very short exit, so take it slow, put indicator on early, Manson is the next exit up with a longer exit. If using canoe or other water toys, please sign waiver and wear a provided life jacket. Enjoy the large yard and 400 feet of river front, no beach on our site. This is our family home and are very excited to have others enjoy the space. We have a hot tub now!

There are approximately 20 lakes and rivers within 30 minutes of the house with the closest one being only 5 minutes away. A guide book is offered in the suite that is full of recommendations for fun! Between Gravenhurst, Orillia, Bracebridge and Bala, there is always something exciting going on!

- Our dog Georgia may bark at you a few times but she is very friendly! Her friend Ellie from next door comes over to play with her once in a while and she is extremely friendly as well!

It is a very unique space with panoramic oversized patio doors overlooking the lake with queen size bunk bed, a small kitchenette for your cooking needs, electric fireplace and an ensuite bathroom. It is literally steps away from the lake. Wake up from awe-inspiring sunrise reflecting from the water into the boathouse panoramic window.

The Boathouse has a private patio covered under large Gazeebo with propane BBQ, picnic table, chairs, and firepit area right by the lake.

Get cozy inside by electric fireplace or just spend a whole day playing board games, video games or watch unlimited movies. We also have high speed internet for your working or streaming needs.

Boathouse Description:

There is a shallow water entry, or you can just jump into the lake right of our private dock where you can also park your own watercraft (public boat access is right across). Enjoy various water activities we have to offer, such as kayaking, canoe, water mat, and plenty of water toys and floaters. We also offer boat cruises and water tubing experiences (extra, please inquire).

Sparrow Lake is also known for great fishing any time of the year, so you don’t need to go far as you can fish right of the shore. For an ultimate fishing experience, at additional charge, we offer fishing equipment, fishing boat and ice fishing hut just steps from the Lakehouse.

Take a break from water activities and play beach volleyball at our private VB court or various games on our grass lawn. There is also a large trampoline for the kids to take their energy off. Our firepit at the shoreline, is sure to keep you warm on chilly nights, or you may even want to BBQ in style using our outdoor wood stove by the front porch. In the winter, enjoy various outdoor activities, such as cross-country skiing or skating on our private rink on the lake (subject to weather). You might also want to explore nearby tobogganing hills and local snowmobile trails accessible right from our driveway.

For your convenience, we also provide all the bedding, linens and towels that are thoroughly washed and disinfected, and other essentials such as shampoo/conditioner and body wash.

The Boathouse guests will have access to the entire property, except the actual Lakehouse that is attached. If booked, the guests will have private use of the wood burning sauna and hot tub, otherwise these amenities maybe privately booked by other guests. Note there might be other guests at our Lakehouse, which is a separate unit with separate entrance, so outdoor space like backyard or volleyball court, or watercraft equipment may be shared with other guests. The guests are welcome to use kayaks and canoe, life jackets are provided (subject to weather).
