Our beautiful little "A" Frame is just a few steps from Kawkawa Lake near Hope, BC. It has just been completely renovated; new flooring throughout, fresh paint, and full bathroom reno. We are a short 90 minute drive from Vancouver where one can completely unplug and enjoy the scenery. There is an abundance of outdoor activities to do around the lake such as; swimming, kayaking, hiking, and more. If you have a boat, there are two different boat launches within a kilometer of the cabin.
In the surrounding area there are numerous adventures to take; Hell's Gate (Google it, it is amazing), Manning Park for summer and winter activities, Harrison Hot Springs, downtown Hope (carving capital of Canada), Othello Tunnels (stunning), many many hikes to take, gold panning in historic Yale, BC, and so much more.
The cabin has two bedrooms on the main level, both with queen sized beds and the loft has a queen bed. There is a full kitchen (minus a dishwasher) with an extra "beer fridge" in the garage. The cabin is set up for inside and outside cooking and eating with huge decks, front and back. The back deck has glass railings, two tables and a BBQ. There are brand new vinyl plank floors inside the cabin and it was freshly painted in 2023.
The backyard boasts a spring fed creek that is absolutely stunning and runs ice cold year round. There is an amazing fire pit area for campfires. In the summer, if there's a burning ban, we also have a portable propane fire pit so you will not go without!
We use the front yard for playing games like croquet, ladder ball and bean bag toss.
If you are adventurous, we have 4 adult kayaks and 2 child kayaks for use as well as a stand up paddle board. It's just a short walk to the launch to put the toys into the water.
In the winter, we are just a 45 minute drive from Manning Park Resort and some amazing downhill powder and some of the best cross country skiing in the world. - "My husband and our children and grandchildren (8) had a wonderful time away. The house is gorgeous and very clean. It's a wonderful idea to have the bedrooms on each side. That worked so well. So tastefully decorated. The river offered so much for the kids to explore. We had a fire in the pit and everyone enjoyed having the hot tub so accessible. The stove was a bit of a challenge until we figured it out. It would be nice to have more towels. We had such a fantastic family weekend away we are booking for next year."

We are a new development and some of our neighbors are still in the progress of building so you may hear some construction noise, especially in the warmer seasons and during the week, But be sure to walk around the neighborhood to check out the variety of cool architecture!!

The space
Our 3 bedroom cabin is cozy, private, and unique! Upstairs bedrooms are loft style with 5 foot ceilings. The main floor has a bedroom with a queen bed, full kitchen with everything you need to cook a delicious meal, bathroom with a soaker tub, a cozy living room, and dining space perfect for playing games or just relaxing. An adjoining back room provides extra space for storage or a pet kennel. Outdoor space includes a large front yard with a private fire pit area, picnic table, lots of parking, and the backyard has a ping pong table for your enjoyment. If you are a disc golfer, let us know and we would be glad to play a round with you on our very own 9 hole disc golf course on the property!

- "If only all vacation rentals were like this. The creek running through the back yard, with bridge to nicely laid out decking and lounge/hot tub was far nicer than we expected. The back yard oasis is serene and private. The house was spacious and comfortable - it is actually 2 1/2 bedrooms (but just one bathroom), so could handle several couples or extended family very easily. The kitchen utility was way above average with sharp knives, condiments, and a real vent hood! The owner clearly cares about maintaining a quality experiance for guests. Some minor cautions or recommendations: 1) the lake is not within walking distance, but the public park is 1 minute drive away. 2) go to Sucker's Creek to swim in the creek - lovely and far less crowded, 3) we were there during a brutal heat wave and the AC struggled to keep up, but shouldnt be a problem in normal summer temps. Highly recommended and quality vacation rental!"

The Space:
Located on the eastern edge of Kawkawa Lake, this unique property boasts the best exposure on the lake, featuring spectacular west-facing lake, mountain and sunset views. Enjoy walk-on waterfront access to a private beach and dock—ideal for tying up your boat.

The lake house includes 1,800 sq ft of living space spread across 2 floors in the main portion of the house, and an additional 700 sq ft suite separated by the breezeway.

The main portion of the house features a spacious kitchen, with large island and gas range, as well as open concept living and dining room spaces designed for entertaining. Heated concrete floors and a freestanding wood fireplace create a cozy atmosphere on cool nights and during the winter months. Central air-conditioning keeps the house cool during hot summer days and nights.

Upstairs in the main house there are three bedrooms; two with king-size beds, and one with a queen-size bed. Two of the rooms have built-in twin bunk-beds. The upstairs also features two full bathrooms, with a shared camp-style double sink.

The suite, which is separated from the main house by the breezeway, features it’s own kitchenette and is the perfect place to watch the game or set the kids up with a movie. The suite also includes a bedroom with a king-size bed, twin bunk-beds and a separate full bathroom with tub and shower.

An expansive 500 sq ft partially covered breezeway features a natural gas BBQ, covered dining area, and a swing that adults love just as much the kids! Cool down or warm up in the outdoor shower on the south side of the property.

The lower deck is a great place to sit, lounge and enjoy the sun on a warm day.

The 90 foot private dock includes bumpers and cleats to tie off your boat, a double lounge chair, coffee table and a swim ladder. Read a book, or sit back with a cup of coffee or glass of wine and enjoy the ebb and flow of Kawkawa Lake and the mountains beyond.

We welcome you to a relaxing and unforgettable stay in our home. Your space includes a large living area with a cozy gasfire, eating area, kitchenette and a delightful antique grand piano. There is hardwood flooring and large picture windows overlooking the grass garden and trees beyond.

It has a tiled bathroom with as a heated floor. There are two spacious carpeted double bedrooms and an extra ‘room’ with a single bed available at $10 per night. Outside is a large covered patio with a BBQ.
The space
Spacious, beautiful, peaceful place! Guests love the wooden floors and cupboards, the cosy gas fire in winter and air conditioning in summer. Guests enjoy the closeness to local trails and beaches, for gentle walks, runs, or cycle rides. Even have a go at gold panning or try free nearby frisbee golf course in the woods nearby (fun frisbees and gold panning dishes included, but with no guarantee of finding gold!). There are many hikes and trails a short drive, and of course all the local attractions in Hope. We aim to makes your stay pleasurable and memorable.

Guests have private access to the downstairs living area from the back garden. There is a lockbox to access the key for your convenience, and I can also add your phones to unlock the door during your stay using the ‘August’ app.

You don’t have access to garage or the downstairs storage and utility rooms. If you are staying for more than a few days, guests arrange to use the laundry room upstairs by request.

Please note that you have private use of all the downstairs living space. We can let you have a key if you wanted to lock your individual bedrooms too (this has been requested by a company booking for workmen to stay). There is a curtain separating downstairs from upstairs but we do not allow anyone in the house if we have guests. We often come on a Sunday afternoon to mow the lawn etc, but give guests at least 90 min notice if we are coming.

In addition to the downstairs, it is possible to book additional 1 or 2 double bedrooms upstairs or the whole house. (see www.Airbnb.com/h/Discover-Hope). I have temporarily disabled this booking feature, so please ask if interested.
Other things to note
Your floor is down a flight of stairs, and backs onto the garden, with large picture windows across the back of the house.

The kitchenette has a double sink, kettle, coffee maker, microwave and Ninja air fryer (acts as an efficient small oven, toaster, and dehydrator, among other things… see photos or Google). There is a large fridge with a freezer in the kitchenette, and a small fridge with a tiny freezer in the ‘mud room’.

The key also unlocks the far back door, past your private entrance from the garden and round to the other side of the house, where can take off and hang wet boots and coats.

Due to our insurance restrictions, the primary renter must be at least 25 years of age. The reservation holder must be present during the stay and is responsible for all guests and visitors.

For liability reasons, we do not provide kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, or lifejackets. However, guests are welcome to bring their own and use them at their own discretion.

Noise Monitoring
We take noise levels and our neighbors' comfort very seriously. To help with this, we have noise level monitoring devices inside the home. These devices do not record or listen in—they simply alert us if the noise exceeds a certain decibel threshold.

To access the suite, please enter on the right side of the house. Walk down the gravel driveway, up the wooden stairs to the backyard. Follow the deck around the corner where you will see the double doors to enter the suite. Door code will be provided on check-in day.

Other things to note
Please note that we have two cats in our house which is connected to the guest suite. The cats are never in the guest suite but if you have a severe allergy to cats we wanted to let people know. They are outside on leash sometimes so if you bring a pet, please ensure it’s leashed at all times while outside.

Also note that our home is on septic so guests need to be sensitive with the plumbing. Only #1 and #2 in the toilet; everything else including toilet paper must be placed in the garbage bin provided (has motion-sensor lid so no touching is required). Thanks!

This unique home is situated in the mountains just 1.5 hours East of Vancouver. Cook your own meals in our kitchen or share a meal if you want to chat with us and get info on the area . Fish in the lake, skiing 40 min. away at Manning Park. There are two rooms. One is up a spiral staircase with clubfoot bathtub and a toilet outside the room. The other is on the main floor and has a shower and toilet just outside of the room. This one is presently rented to a long term renter/roommate.

The space
Ever walk out your back door and watched fish spawning. Between October and December our backyard creek is home to hundreds of spawning Kokanee and Coho.
Walk down the road and you are at Kawkawa Lake for fishing and swimming. There are hiking and biking trails all around us. Our house has two levels. There is a TV in the common area and you have access to wifi. Our kitchen is large and open. Everything you need to make up a great meal. In the winter light the natural wood fireplace going and pull up a rocking chair. Head up to Manning Park which is 40 minutes away for downhill, Nordic or snowshoeing. We ask that you not wear shoes in the house and this is a non smoking home. THERE IS A CAT LIVING HERE. Just in case of allergies. She does not go into the guest room.

During your stay
. Depends on the day of the week I may not be here when you arrive. I have roommate, Jim, although he is seldom at home . This is a shared house. We share the kitchen and common areas. Your room is large so you have plenty of space to hang out in if you need privacy. Also the house is a good size so it is easy to find a corner to hang out and read. There is a TV for your use though you will probably be too busy exploring the area and enjoying the garden to watch it. You will probably be visiting in the summer so we are always outside . There are lots of outdoor spaces. We have seating in the front and the back of the house. We may offer you to share a meal with us but don't feel obligated to. We just like to put the offer out if we are barbequing.

This is a great place to stay if you are heading into the interior of BC and the Rocky mountains or driving from Calgary to Vancouver. Stay atleast two nights it is worth it! Manning park is 40 minute drive for skiing, snowshoeing or ice skating during the winter months and hiking or swimming in the summer. Although Kawkawa Lake is at the end of our road and is fun for water sports.

Guests have private access to the downstairs living area from the back garden. There is a lockbox to access the key for your convenience, and I can also add your phones to unlock the door during your stay using the ‘August’ app.

You don’t have access to garage or the downstairs storage and utility rooms. If you are staying for more than a few days, guests arrange to use the laundry room upstairs by request.

Please note that you have private use of all the downstairs living space. We can let you have a key if you wanted to lock your individual bedrooms too (this has been requested by a company booking for workmen to stay). There is a curtain separating downstairs from upstairs but we do not allow anyone in the house if we have guests. We often come on a Sunday afternoon to mow the lawn etc, but give guests at least 90 min notice if we are coming.

Your floor is down a flight of stairs, and backs onto the garden, with large picture windows across the back of the house.

There is a large fridge with a freezer in the kitchenette, and a small fridge with a tiny freezer in the ‘mud room’.

The key also unlocks the far back door, past your private entrance from the garden and round to the other side of the house, where can take off and hang wet boots and coats.

The space
This is a split level house on a large corner lot. On the main floor we have the living room, dining room, kitchen, and access to the private patio. The upper floor has 4 bedrooms with each room having queen-sized bed. There are also 2 bathrooms on the top floor. On the lower floor, there is the fifth bedroom which has a double bed as well as the third full bathroom.

Relax and unwind with your friends and family in this spacious home while watching tv/movies in the living area with large floor to ceiling windows and a gorgeous fireplace.

Enjoy indoor and outdoor living at the Hope Oasis. We boast a large open concept kitchen perfect for entertaining while creating a feast. If you are craving some bbq then you are steps from the large covered patio through the glass sliding door. On the patio you will find the a BBQ along with a patio set from where you can enjoy the breeze and view the nearby mountains.
