- "The drive up to the hotel off of the main paved road requires driving along a poorly conditioned dirt road. That part had us wondering where we had booked, but after the road - literally everything was top rated! The Staff was very friendly and accommodating and they provide a great deal of extra touches which indicate this 4 start place to be better rated as a 5 star place! All of the rooms are nice and nicely appointed. They have an invertor which covers Wifi and some power to charge your phone during load shedding times. The food was unexpectedly excellent and the eating area also very lovely, quaint with good, attentive service. They also have a larger wine & beverage list than most places along the Garden Route of South Africa. Without so much as asking - their yard staff washed all of the vehicles in the morning. They literally did everything possible to ensure your stay was memorable and comfortable. The views are stunning and they have 2 of their own Ostriches for a private close-up viewing as well. It's incredibly inexpensive to stay there and would be fair at triple the price. So don't let the cost deter you. This is truly a gem and if in that area again we would absolutely stay in this place again. We are seasoned travelers and would rate this hotel higher than 5 stars if it was possible. "

Very poorly from Hotel.com Had to show my invoice for reception that Accomodation was paid directly to Hotel.com We got the Queens Residence and it was quite spacious and big, both rooms with own en-suite. Only problem and my biggest issue was the beds. Extremely hard and uncomfortable. Not Queen or King bed. Only 2 single beds per room. From all my hotel experience, this was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in, including my wife. Most expensive hotel per night, with the most uncomfortable bed. And that’s important. "

Our home is on the famous Route 62 Wine route and 45 minutes from George, Wilderness on the Garden Route. Visit the well-known Smitswinkel for their famous roosterkoek or high tea at De Rust. Other places to visit are the Cango-caves, Cango Wildlife Ranch, Highgate Ostrich Show Farm.

The space
The entrance to the room is at the main gate in 50 Rand Street. Contact me 10 minutes before you are here so I can make sure someone is available to open the gate. Open parking on gravel behind security gate with electric fence. Entrance to room is via the main entrance of the house passed through the lobby, to the second room on the right hand side in the hallway.

The Room has a table with cutlery, kettle, complimentary coffee mix and rusk/s. Next to the table you will find a dustbin. The cable tied wardrope doors is private property. There is a empty full side with lots of space for your use.

It's a double bed fitted with mattress protector, linen, bedding, double luggage bench (PLEASE DO NOT SIT ON IT, IT'S NOT A CHAIR OR SOFA), and 2 bedside tables with one lamp. Also 2 bath towels provided on the bed.

In the corner you will find a bar fridge with a microwave on top as well as an air fryer. Please do not use any metal or shiny stuff in the microwave. Please also do use the correct holders for the air fryer. Please keep these items clean.

There is two wooden chairs. In the other corner is our Wi-Fi router. Please do not touch or move it at all.

If you stand in the doorway of the room and look to your right shoulder, the 3d door from the right will be your private bathroom. Toilet, basin, bath, and shower with 2 hand towels if needed. Complimentary bar of soap in the shower, hand wash liquid at the basin and 1 roll of toilet paper for the toilet.

We are currently busy with revamping the front garden and swimming pool area. This will be finalized (hopefully) at the end of April 2025). This area can be booked out. You are welcome to ask for the mobile braai if needed.

For Airbnb room please use main entrance in 50 Rand Street. Please park car in middle of 2 other vehicles. Leave space for blue Toyota Vitz to be able to enter/exit freely. You will receive the keys and remote at arrival. You are more than welcome to use the garden at the swimming pool area. Portable braai can be arranged. Please book in advance. Blue sofa in entrance hall my be used. There is board games available inside the sofa's compartment during your stay. Please handle with care. Personal private full bathroom opposite private room. More than welcome to use family dinning/sitting area when available. There are also some books on the shelf to read during your stay. Please handle with care.
