Luxurious, calm, tranquil. Close to local amenities, far enough to totally relax
House
Ross-on-Wye, England, United Kingdom

The lets are configured around a pretty courtyard. Because of the design, each home gets privacy. Little Howle Farm dates back to the early 1800's so all the buildings have thick stone walls, which in the winter hold the heat and in the summer keeps them lovely and cool inside. We are no longer a working farm, what were once working barns are now beautiful holiday lets.

Rivington Barn is a stunning luxury barn conversion. Rivington is our largest property. It is well equipped, in every sense. It is a perfect place to come back to at the end of a busy day exploring this amazing area.
Rivington has two large, equally spacious, double bedrooms, both with luxury ensuite bathrooms. Each bedroom can be configured with a king size bed or two single beds. The bathrooms both include a large bath, a generous separate shower, shower gel and White Company bubble bath. We provide cotton bedding, luxury fluffy bath sheets, hand towels, flannels and bath mats. The living area is situated upstairs. To reach it, you walk up a central staircase, into an amazing galleried area which is completely open plan with high ceilings, beams and lots of natural light. To the right is a large lounge area, complete with a smart TV and gas log effect burner. The dining and kitchen areas are to the left, fully equipped with hob, oven, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. We provide tea towels, dish cloths/sponge, oven gloves and apron as well as cleaning products.
There are games, puzzles, local information, suggested walks and OS maps provided.
There is a patio area directly outside the cottage, which is a lovely sheltered place to sit, as it gets the sun all day. We also invite our guests to use the rear garden, which includes a barbeque and fire pit area, a large lawned area and a sun terrace at the top of the garden over looking the Malvern Hills. There is very little light pollution in Howle Hill so the terrace is perfect for star gazing.
There is plenty of on site parking is available to the rear of the barn.
We have a laundry room should guests need it (payable separately).

Howle Hill is a tiny settlement, too small to be called a village! It is very quiet here.
Many guests describe it as a haven and often comment how well they sleep and how relaxed they feel. We are perfectly placed between the Wye Valley and The Forest of Dean. A 5 minute drive from Ross on Wye with its many pubs, restaurants, shops and watersports on the river Wye. A 10 minute drive in the other direction takes you into The Forest of Dean.

We provide a welcome pack which includes Milk, local fruit juice, Weston's cider, cake, tea, coffee and sugar.

Acorn Cottage can be linked internally with Rivington Barn which creates a 3 double ensuite bedroom property to sleep 6. We also have The Granary which sleeps 4, meaning we can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests at any one time.

8-Bed Lotus Belle Mahal Tent in The Wye Valley
Cabin
Ross-on-Wye, United Kingdom

The words 'boutique' and 'luxury' get bandied about a lot in glamping circles, but for the site at Stargazer Glamping in Herefordshire border country, they are probably understatements. Let's start with the location; a Georgian country pile in the outstandingly beautiful Wye Valley, which straddles the England-Wales border. It's a land of misty mornings, shaded forests, valley meadows, and mountain views, not to mention glorious sunsets and star-filled skies — if glamping magic is going to happen anywhere, it's here.

Behind the house, in the extensive, mature woods and gardens, are three separate glamping areas, each centred on a spacious Lotus Belle tent with its accompanying facilities. The 'Mahal' is the showstopper, a simply enormous specimen — the sort of thing a desert potentate might entertain in — which sleeps at least eight in four separate rooms, with a whopping 65 square metres of floor space. The other two are six-metre 'Stargarzer' tents — one with an added 4etre Lotus Belle tent— so depending on your family grouping, these each sleep anything from two to seven people. Furnishings and decor throughout are stylishly top-notch — think country-house hotel with a splash of Scandi-rustic charm — so it's not just proper beds and rugs, but also soft robes, cut flowers, sofas, armchairs and coordinated colours. Outside, you get your own fully equipped cabana-style kitchen — "You won't have to bring a thing" is the promise — and attached to this are pristine hot-water shower facilities, loo, and washing-up area. The knives are sharp, the pots and pans un-battered, while dining is at solid tables and chairs on matching crockery with proper glassware.

At this point, things start to get, well, even more boutique and luxury, for want of better words. Finnish wood-fired hot tub? That's a yes. Hammocks in wooded glades, comfy sun-loungers, and an impressive fire bowl that's almost three-foot across? Yes again. A communal, outdoor honesty bar with its own drink-stocked fridge and free-to-use pizza oven is a place to chill, while a potter around the well-tended grounds turns up rose-scented grassy paths and glades. Lounge on a day bed or relax in a hammock. It's all extremely well thought out and playful, too, as the invitation to curl up for the night on an outdoor iron bed attests. You can see the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains on a clear day, while starry nights show you the Milky Way in all its glory.

Stargazer is everything that's promised and more. It might even be unique — to use another word that's bandied about — but it's certainly a gloriously upmarket and relaxing base for hanging out with the family in one of Britain's most cherished landscapes.

House Rules:
- Check-in time is 4pm and check-out is 10am.
- There is free parking available at the property.
- Pets are not allowed at the property.

"Where do I begin??? We had never been glamping before so this was a first for us and definitely won’t be our last! Dominic and Helena are fantastic, they helped me plan our weekend suggesting local points of interest and great places to eat. They also will arrange bbq packs of meat, advise on anything at all you need but the reality is the facilities on offer here leave very little for you to need or think about. The site is very family friendly, our two children aged 4 and 6 had the best time playing in the activity tent, using the tree swings, table tennis, badminton and the huge trampoline. They also loved picking their own apples from the trees and making friends with the very friendly free roaming chickens. The tent itself had everything you need, comfy beds with cosy duvets and throws, blankets to use outside if it’s a little chilly at night. Lanterns for light at night and even a socket for electricity. My daughter loved the cuddly bunny hot water bottle too- EVERYTHING has been thought of! The outdoor kitchen has everything you would ever need and the welcome pack is a lovely touch! We enjoyed the hot tub in the afternoons and spent evenings toasting marshmallows over our fire pit. Absolute perfection!!! Well done Dominic and Helena, you really have created perfection ❤️" - [Verified]

"Stargazer Glamping is the most whimsical, magical place I have ever been; I really didn’t want to leave! The views are stunning, the mature gardens, orchard, hammocks, outdoor beds, I could go on!The kitchens are beautifully equipped, the shop had more than what we needed and free ice (we stayed during a heat wave!) We warmed our Croissants in the morning in the pizza oven with fresh coffee, in the communal seating area and chickens pecking around, it was like something out of a magazine! Dominick was so helpful, helping with the luggage and checking our hot tubs were heating up when needed. The tents are breathtaking, opulent, so comfortable, with robes and towels for the hot tubs and blankets to sit outside in the evening. The showers were always hot, with shampoo and boutique style shower gel provided. So many little hidden corners kitted out for relaxation; a children’s play tent, books and games. "This place is absolutely out of this world! Every single thing has been thought of and taken care of. The tents are so cosy and so comfortable and the kitchen's are so well equipped. Dominic (the owner) makes sure you have everything you need. (He'll even take your luggage to your site with a little trailer!) They provide a wonderful little welcome hamper including bread, milk, orange juice, prosecco and fresh eggs and tea bags etc. You could come entirely empty handed and have everything you need! The setting is just beautiful. The views and surroundings are stunning and the grounds are great for having a stroll. There's bunnies and chickens and a badminton court. There's also a wonderful vegetable garden where you can pick some fresh veggies for your dinner. We planned to do so much on our holiday but all we wanted to do was stay at the site because it was so wonderful! Having a glass of prosecco and toasting marshmallows on the fire pit, keeping you warm (and the blankets they provide) then jumping in the hot tub and looking at the stars...it really was absolutely perfect!! I cannot fault one single thing about this place. It really is fantastic in every possible way and I cannot wait to book again to go back! Great for couples or for families! Would absolutely recommend!! 5 stars!! A massive thank you to the owners for making it such a magical wonderful experience for us!" - [Verified]

Loved spending time around camp. Every detail was thought of. The shower was insane and we loved the resident chicken. The hosts were lovely and accommodating. The cake, bread and essentials provided were a lovely touch. Hot water bottles the best idea. Even though we had the most horrendous weather the place is so well equipped we didn’t even notice! Could have stayed a week or more!! Swing ball and table tennis along with the pizza oven all real highlights. We will be back!"

Guest Reviews:

- "Our experience was perplexing from the start, with directions so inadequate that we had to ask the way. When we arrived I was attacked by geese at large in the grounds. Despite profuse apologies from the owner's wife, and the geese then confined to a wired pen, the owner said he wouldn't be lectured, walking away when I offered some advice on the facilities. There was no TV, no WiFi connection facilitated, no freezer compartment in the fridge, not even a teapot or breadbin. To compound our dissatisfaction, I spent much time swatting dozens of flies. The marked inadequacies of this venue and nature of the response were most regrettable, especially so since the situation could have been so much more inviting. A radical rethink of how the owners present this venue and connect with their customers is called for."

Luxury Georgian Country House with Hot Tub. Pet Friendly. Wye Valley AONB
Villa
Ross-on-Wye, England, United Kingdom

Summary:
A Georgian country Villa in the outstandingly beautiful Wye Valley, which straddles the England-Wales border. It's a land of misty mornings, shaded forests, valley meadows, not to mention glorious sunsets and star-filled skies.
Bromsash House is a grand, handsome Georgian home with endless appeal.
The gardens are huge and boast a huge array of unusual trees, fruit trees, rose bushes, and magnolias, creating perfect areas in which to play and explore. "We didn't want to Leave" Guest Pete Saunders

The Space:
The Georgian Villa looks across the Wye Valley towards the mountains of the Brecon Beacons, with the Forest of Dean just a couple of miles down the road. It’s a remarkable spot for a rather remarkable house that can be yours for a week or a weekend away. From the outside it’s neatly Georgian: grand, elegant and symmetrical, with cream-coloured walls sitting in mature landscaped gardens. But step inside and a comfortable opulence cocoons you in generously-proportioned rooms. Here, you can eat, sleep and socialise in sumptuous style. Sleeping 18, this is just the place to get the family together for a grand old time in one of the loveliest parts of the UK.

The tone is set as soon as you enter. Chandeliers hang from ceilings, artwork adorns the walls and there are antiques and objet d’art everywhere. Georgian features underpin it all, but there’s a mix of styles put together with flair – and more than the occasional Victorian flourish. Having said all that, this place is no museum. It’s there to be lived in and enjoyed and is very much a family home. The turquoise sofas of the peacock-themed drawing room and the oatmeal Chesterfield in the neighbouring sitting room are as comfy as they are stylish. There’s a grand dining room where you can eat together and a kitchen that’s a pleasure to cook in.

Upstairs, there are five bedrooms and four bathrooms which are no less opulent than downstairs. One has a super-king-size bed and an en-suite with a bath, separate shower and his-and-hers sinks. Another has a roll-top bath under a bay window. All the bedrooms have a TV, including the bunk room. The adjacent Coach House has a further 3 king rooms.

While the inside of the house is impressive, it’s what’s outside that might wow you the most. The view, framed by architraved windows and doors is a constant companion in here. It’ll draw you out to the garden where there’s a hot tub, plenty of seating and a couple of acres to enjoy. Should you want to walk further, head to The Alma for lunch – one of several good pubs nearby. From here, it’s only three miles to Ross-on-Wye, half that to the Forest of Dean and a matter of less than half a mile to the nearest fishing lake and golf course.

Lotus Belle Tents sleeping up to 7 Guests
Cabin
Ross-on-Wye, United Kingdom

This Belle Tent unit sleeps 4 in the main tent plus up to 3 more in the second tent.

The other two are six-metre 'Stargarzer' tents — one with an added 'Airbud' pup — so depending on your family grouping, these each sleep anything from two to six people.

Yes again. A communal, outdoor honesty bar with its own drink-stocked fridge, firepit, and free-to-use pizza oven is a place to chill, while a potter around the well-tended grounds turns up rose-scented grassy paths, vegetable and herb gardens, orchards, and scratching chickens. It's all extremely well thought out and playful, too, as the invitation to curl up for the night on an outdoor iron bed attests. Ask for a telescope and one will be provided.

From the owners Helena and Dominic:

"Stargazer Glamping is a unique boutique glampsite set in the most gorgeous mature garden environment in the grounds of a Georgian country house. The site consists of 3 glamping areas that are well separated from each other. Each area having its own 6 person wood-fired hot tub, extensively equipped kitchen, hot shower with limitless hot water and compost toilet. Each has its own firepit and BBQ, sun bed seating and hammocks. You have your own dining table and chairs under a pretty awning.

The main site consists of over 250 mature and rare trees, rose walks, orchards, vegetable and herb gardens, free ranging chickens providing fresh eggs for the kids to find.

There are various private seating areas dotted around the site. The beautiful communal bar area has an Ooni pizza oven and there is a hammock garden and a beautiful fairy garden. The views are spectacular from the property consisting of the Welsh mountains, open fields and forest. Sunsets and starry night skies are easily viewable from the site (Telescopes provided free of charge). We are in a dark skies area so viewing the Milky Way with our powerful telescopes is especially fun".

Hereford Beef and BBQ. You can pre-order BBQ meats through me sourced from the 2022 UK game butcher of the year. 3 days notice required.

Each unit has its very own private kitchen, woodfired hot tub, firepit/BBQ, mains hot shower, compost loo and herb garden. There is electricity and charging ports and the communal honesty shop a
has a fridge and freezer.

Linen and towels and robes are all included to make your stay more enjoyable.

Jo Wood recommends Stargazer Glamping. September 6th 2022:

Katie Hadley recommends Stargazer Glamping. July 17th 2022:

We will definitely be back!" - [Verified]

Absolutely fantastic experience!!! 5 Stars

FAQ
Can we bring our pets to the property?
Dogs are allowed with an additional charge £75 per stay per pet up to 3 maximum.
However some large breeds are not suitable for the property - please contact Dominic ahead of booking if concerned, usually maximum of around 20kg.
Please do not allow pets upstairs and kindly, remember to clean up after them.

Is there space for us to park our car?
Up to 9 vehicles can park on the land very easily.

What are the rules for the hot tub?
Please shower before using the hot tub!
Instructions for use are within the House Manual provided.

Can we use the property for our party?
Yes of course, we love hosting birthday parties, wedding parties and hen do’s - however, we’ve had some negative experience with Stag parties and so we no longer allow them, apologies.
Since we’re located in a quiet area, sound carries very clearly across the countryside - we’d like to avoid noise complaints from neighbours and so we ask our guests to keep the noise inside after 10.30pm, thank you.
Specifically Glitter and Glitter balloons are a big no no.
Also, we’ve had numerous issues with real candles so we provide electronic candles, please do not bring additional real candles.

How do we use the fireplace?
Please make sure fire guards are placed at all times! This is extremely important for your safety.
Do not make fires in the fireplaces anywhere apart from the two living rooms as the other chimneys are blocked and it would cause a housefire.
Please allow the fires to die down naturally before you start heading to bed.
This is a major fire safety issue and if you have any concerns please ask Dominic upon booking for full fire safety instructions.

Absolutely no Fireworks I'm afraid. We are surrounded by horses and it totally freaks them out. Sorry.

Handsome Victorian house - centre of Ross on Wye

Herefordshire

Suffolk House is a handsome 3-storey Victorian House situated in the centre of Ross-on-Wye, just a five minute walk from the historic Market Hall, pubs, local restaurants and supermarkets.
The perfect base for walking, cycling and canoeing. Detailed information of our favourite walks and cycle rides provided.
Easy access to the charming market towns of Ledbury and Monmouth, and the historic cathedral cities of Hereford and Gloucester.
Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff airports 1 hour by car.

The space
The space is the entire top floor of a 3-storey house and consists of a double bedroom, a single bedroom, a bathroom and a sitting room with sofa bed.
Access involves climbing 2 flights of stairs (33 steps) and therefore may not be suitable for parents with young children or those with mobility issues.
The double bedroom is light and spacious with a large wardrobe and chest of drawers and would be ideal for a couple.
The single room also has a wardrobe and chest of drawers.
In the sitting room there is a sofa bed which can be used if three people would prefer separate rooms, or if it is a party of four, where two of you would have to share the double bed. For example, it would therefore suit a family with two children.
There is information about the local area, a sofa, table and chairs, TV, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities.
We will only let the rooms out to people in the same party, so if you are a single person or just one couple, you will not be sharing the space with other guests.
Although it is accessed through the house, the rooms are really quite private.

Guest access
Continental self-service breakfast is included and is available in the dining room on the ground floor at a time to suit you.
Help yourself to crockery and cutlery if you wish to order a take away.
We have a pretty courtyard garden with plenty of seating, which we are happy for you to use.
You can store bikes in our secure cellar, which has direct road access.

We have used Airbnb all over the world and have often enjoyed the interaction with our hosts. We hope your experience will be similar.

Cosy Annex in quiet village, nr Symonds Yat
House
Herefordshire

Purpose built annex (30 sq m), with its own entrance and central heating, in idyllic village location. The Annex is attached to a period stone-built house in large and interesting grounds (3.5 acres) set on a south facing slope with 2 ponds and a variety of specimen shrubs and trees. It is perfect for the solo traveller (tourist or business person) as a relaxing rural retreat, or a base to explore the wonderful local attractions, being only 2 miles west of A40. Basic price quoted is for 1 guest.

The space
Llangrove is a quiet village with a church, primary school and a friendly country pub (within walking distance) that serves food and welcomes visitors. We are situated on the periphery of the village but less than 0.5km from the centre and the village hall. The Annex has its own entrance, sitting room with mini kitchen, bedroom and shower room. The mini IKEA kitchen includes microwave, refrigerator, and electric hob. Bedding and towels are provided including kitchen cloths etc.
We offer a peaceful and relaxing place to stay, yet we are only a few minutes (2 miles) from some excellent road links, particularly the A40 with ready access to the M4 and M50.
We have 2 elderly Persian cats, so unfortunately we are unable to accommodate guest pets.

Guest access
The Annex is self-contained and has its own car parking space alongside. There is sufficient space around the 3.5 acre grounds for outside relaxation and enjoying the local flora and fauna and outstanding views.

Other things to note
There is no smoking in the house. Please also note we have a couple of ponds, so small children should be supervised in the garden. It has a 3ft single bed which is most suitable for one person. But we realise that some couples have also used this short term. There is also a double sofa bed in the sitting room with more space for couples. There is an additional charge over the basic price for the 2nd person. There is no provision for, and it is not suitable, for ‘infants’ or ‘toddlers’.
