Golygfa Deg, or "Fair View" in Welsh, is a 3-bedroom holiday cottage with stunning views over the Teifi estuary and Cardigan Bay. Set in the village of Gwbert, just five minutes drive from the market town of Cardigan, the cottage is within easy reach of numerous beaches, family attractions and historic sites. It is also walking distance from two popular restaurants and an 18-hole golf course, while regular bottle-nosed dolphin and seal-spotting boat trips can be booked locally - search “Bay to Remember” online.

The property has a large, open-plan kitchen/lounge/dining room that looks out over the estuary and leads out onto a large south and west-facing patio deck. The main bathroom has recently been re-modelled to include a walk-in shower. Lovely house with large bedrooms, a lovely sitting room with large windows showing the wonderful vista of the bay. In front of that there is a large decked area and a picknic bench to the one side to eat your meals al fresco. The kitchen is high specification and is very well equipped indeed and also had dog bowls ready to use in one of the cupboards which was a big help. It has a large back garden and a separate games room with full size table tennis, Xbox, Darts, Board Games and jigsaw puzzles and the washing machine tucked away so you don't have the noise of the washer when sitting in the main room. The house overlooks the bay of the river Afon Teifi and is directly opposite the beach Poppit Sands which we have to say is one of the nicest we've been to and we go to a lot. The beach has a good RNLI presence and a lovely cafe to get cakes and sandwiches / rolls. The RLNI shop has a good gift shop selling lots of the usual seaside gifts, but also wind breaks, buckets and spades if you forgot yours.... Cardigan town centre is a mere 10 mins drive away and is lovely with all the shops you need. We can absolutely recommend an Italian Restaurant called Mannucis at the top end of town by the Castle. Just outside Cardigan but nearer the house you also have Tesco, Aldi and a B&M Retail. The area itself is full of natural beauty and there is plenty to do."

- "Beautiful! Great facilities, especially suited for families with older children. Open stairs not good for very young children I'd say. Centrally located and benefiting from being close by to lots of cafes, restaurants, pubs etc but also a very quiet end of town next to the river. Lovely walk to the wildlife centre and Poppit Sands is a 10 minute drive. The best beach ever for soft buttery sand and no rocks or stones. We enjoyed a lovely swim here. The cottage was a lovely base for us benefitting from both the old stone cottage and modern aspects of an extension with a lovely modern kitchen and bathrooms. Beds were comfy and we all felt recharged after out stay. Only grumble was that we forgot to bring bathroom towels so had to nip to Tesco for some. We were warned but forgot them. So much to do and see in the area. Susie's cottage was a perfect base for us. We would definitely return!"

'Caerwenith' (The Old Sea Captain's House) is in the heart of the picturesque coastal village of Aberporth, West Wales. We've recently renovated this grand old 1930's house to its former seaside glory and have restored all of its original features and furniture. Its location is perfect! Five minutes walk to two stunning, sandy beaches (one of which is dog-friendly), local gastro pubs, shops and world-famous coastal path.

After a lazy breakfast, you can grab your beach gear and walk down to the beach, where the sand and sea await you. The beaches are spotlessly clean (Aberporth was the world's first Plastic Free Community and there are regular litter picks). There are lifeguards on duty (during the summer months) and the bay is sheltered. There is a great beach shop in case you've forgotten your bucket and spade! You can even hire sea canoes on the beach. At lunchtime, you can head back to the house for lunch or take advantage of one of the many pubs/cafes to have lunch (eat in or take away). With onsite parking at the Old Sea Captain's House, you can enjoy this lovely seaside destination without the cost and stress of finding a parking space!

This beautiful seaside village was recently voted one of Wales' top 10 beach destinations. It is one of the least rainy places in Wales. Cardigan Bay has the largest population of bottlenose dolphins in Europe, and from May to October, they can be seen from shore, the coastal path or from one of the many boat trips that are available to book nearby. If walking, hiking or biking is your thing, this is the perfect base. The house is a 3 minute walk to the world-famous coastal path.

The Old Old Sea Captain's House is a great base for exploring this absolutely stunning part of the world. There's so much to do; stunning beaches, cycling, sailing, kayaking, coasteering, diving, surfing, walking, theme parks, farms, wildlife centres, fishing, seal and dolphin boat trips, crabbing, horse riding, visiting castles and historic places.....the list goes on and on. In fact, Wales has more castles per km2 than anywhere else on earth! For those who enjoy browsing antique/craft shops and long pub lunches, there are charming market towns and villages for you to explore nearby. Just 10 minutes away by car is Cardigan, a bustling market town with supermarkets, a leisure center, cinema/theatre, craft/antique shops and plenty of great pubs and restaurants. Close by is the Cliff's Hotel with superb spa facilities.

Accommodation:
There is a large, secure front garden with outdoor dining furniture. A BBQ and an outdoor wood burner are located on the driveway behind the property. There is off-road parking for 3 cars. There is a fully equipped kitchen, with a large electric range cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, filter coffee machine, fridge and dishwasher. Next to the kitchen is a utility room with a washing machine, a separate dryer and a large fridge freezer. If you are super organised, you can arrange for a supermarket delivery (Tescos, Cardigan) and there is plenty of space to store all the food either in the fridge/freezer or larder room. There's lots of space to hang up beach towels and leave your gear until the next beach trip.

We have 2 bathrooms (each with a luxury shower, bath, toilet and sink). There are also two toilets (with hand basins). With 4 toilets in total, there's no queuing for the loo at the Old Sea Captain's House!

We have a large lounge with a smartTV and plenty of space for everyone to snuggle up at the end of the day. There is a DVD player and over 100 DVDs to choose from! There is an open fire in the lounge and a basket of firewood is provided. The dining room also has a fireplace and the dining table can seat 11. There are sea views from most of the rooms.

We have lots of books and board games for our guests to use if you fancy a night in, or you can walk to one of the pubs for dinner and enjoy the long summer evenings watching the sunset on the beach. The choice is yours!

Upstairs, you'll find one bathroom and one toilet/washroom plus 4 bedrooms. Room one has a double bed and bunks (sleeps 4), room two has bunks (sleeps 2), room three has a double bed (sleeps 2) and room 4 has a king-size bed and a single bed (sleeps 3). All bedrooms have a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Fresh towels and bed linen are provided. Beach towels are also available in the box on the landing. Well behaved dogs are welcome. A highchair and cot are available on request.

The post code for some reason directs SAT NAV's to the farm just before Foxhill which has a sign on the gate for Ysgubor Hen. This is the wrong place. You'll be on the right lane, but you're looking for stone pillars either side of a cattle grid with a metal sign on them saying Foxhill. Take this lane, not Ysgubor Hen.

Accessibility

Although Y Sgubor is nearly all on the ground floor apart from the mezzanine reading level, there are two steps up to the bathroom and bedroom.

Y Caban is situated on Foxhill Farm, a gorgeous organic dairy farm surrounded by 90 acres of unspoiled organic pasture. It is secluded and private, but with easy access to the local village St Dogmaels with it's ruined abbey, flour mill, award winning farmers market, galleries & pubs.

Y Caban is within a short drive to the glorious Pembrokeshire Coast Path, and big sandy beach Poppit Sands.

The cabin is on a raised platfrom that is reached from the private car parking space, along a gravel path to a set of 4 steps. The entire property is on one floor however, so could be suitable for those who do not wish to have many stairs in a property or have some limited mobility. The bathroom is a shower over bath.
