In the heart of Snowdonia National Park, an 18th century unmodernised traditional Welsh cottage. On the Glyder mountain range looking onto Mt Snowdon with uninterrupted 360 degree mountain views. The cottage is in the very heart of a designated Dark Sky Reserve - One of just 12 in the world. On clear nights, it is a paradise for stargazers and astronomers. The perfect detox from modern life. Water source is from the river behind the cottage. Fine for bathing with bottled water for drinking
The space
Rustic, unmodernised and very basic. Very few changes have been made to the cottage since it was built. It remains beautiful in its simplicity and sense of timelessness but, if you need all mod cons and squeaky clean, then probably not right for you!
The cottage is ancient with thick walls but can get dusty! Perhaps, in some ways the cottage belongs to another time - a simpler more organic and authentic place in history. If you don’t mind a few cobwebs here & there and the very basic furnishings and lack of luxe you’ll be rewarded with a truly unique experience.
Please note: the cottage is unsuitable for children due to steep steps and multiple hard surfaces
Guest access
Living room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom. Access to washing machine. Garden and mountains.

You can even watch the famous Snowdon train go past a short distance away and watch it make its way to the hillside, and on a calm day you can hear Llanberis waterfalls, which are just at the end of the lane! The river above has beautiful pools and mini waterfalls which are amazing for wild swimming. you'll also enjoy stunning sunrises towards Snowdon and beautiful sunsets from the other side of the garden. All this right on the doorstep!!
Main house:
The spacious, well equipped kitchen with giant island offers plenty of space for prep and cooking. And between the dining table and breakfast bar theres plenty of room for everyone to sit to enjoy your meals.
There's an American fridge freezer which is plumbed in giving you a constant supply of ice, perfect for hot summer days or cocktail nights!
The huge range cooker with 7 gas burners, two ovens and a grill makes cooking big meals a breeze.
The living room has a giant TV and a log burner to make sure you can get cosy on those cold winter nights. There are also a large number or kids toys including train sets, duplo, marble runs, teddies, books etc.
Upstairs you'll find the beautiful bathroom with big walk in shower and deep freestanding bath. ***The lane up to the property is long, steep and narrow. Most vehicles are able to get up without any issues. Transits, mercedes Vitos, VW transporters etc are all absolutely fine. There will be some small bumps/potholes too. It may also involve some reversing if you meet a car coming the other way****
Guest access
The whole house and entire acre of garden is for your exclusive use. There is one small room that is locked for storage purposes.
There are neighbours nearby as there are 3 detached houses in a cluster at the property. The neighbours are lovely and also run their own holiday home.
Other things to note
The lane up to the house is very steep and narrow. it winds its way through the trees and past the waterfall. It is suitable for most vehicles as long as you take care and go slow. I have a long wheelbase Ford Transit and go up and down absolutely fine. It just feels a bit tight if you're not used to the road. On the rare occasion we get ice and snow there are times where the track may only be accessible on foot, until we have shovelled and salted.
Some reversing may be required if you meet a car coming the other way.
