- "This was the worst accommodation experience I have had. -there is frugal and then there is plain mean-10 tea bags for a weeks stay, 3 dishwashing tablets, 1/10 jar of sugar. That’s it! -the property is freezing. There is ‘central heating’ but it is switched off and the dials on the wall are for show only. - the large glass windows rattle during the night - it is not 150 meters to the beach as stated in the promotional material. It is a short drive into town. You can see the beach in the distance. -the house is right on top of another large holiday cottage on the same property so there is no privacy -the electricity went out whilst we were cooking breakfast and when the owner did answer the phone he was rude and arrogant as though his maintenance issues were our fault. He thought he would tackle the problem by YouTubing and barking instructions until we had to point out he had YouTubed the wrong model. Next step was to call the cleaner over. Finally an electrician was called by this time it was after hours and he couldn’t fix it. As it was dark we wanted to go out but the owner wouldn’t get anyone out unless we waited. It got fixed at midnight so we waisted a whole day plus heaps of stress. We asked if we could stay at the other accommodation which as empty or a hotel and he said ‘no’. -there is a five foot hidden drop in the backyard making it unsafe for children. Overall, this place is poorly maintained and poorly managed. "

- "We spent 7 nights at Ger Y Lli in April, and were really happy with all aspects of this cottage. Everything needed was provided, very clean, spacious and ideal for our party of 6 (4 adults & 2 children). Within 10 minutes walk of the village of Aberdaron - a little longer getting back though, due to the rather steep climb!! Would definately return, and highly recommend."

Gorgeous, 3-bed coastal cottage overlooking the beach and sea in the picturesque village of Aberdaron close to the tip of the Llŷn Peninsula. The generous lawned gardens offer 360 degree views overlooking Aberdaron Bay, and then out to sea as far as the horizon with nothing between you and the sea but the beach!
For additional comfort we also offer access to our Boat Shack which can. be used as additional living space with the added convenience of a shower room.
The space
The cottage is our family holiday home bought after many happy years holidaying in this incredible part of the world. It is dog-friendly (max 2 dogs) but please respect our non-dog owning guests and don’t let Fido on the beds or furniture!
The cottage is around 100 years old and built in the traditional Welsh style. This does mean that there are STEEP STAIRS to the upstairs bedrooms and low ceilings to watch out for. There is a small camping field to the side of the house and the very quiet coastal road to the front. The road will take you to the fabulous beaches of Yso, Cariad, Hell’s Mouth and Abersoch - otherwise known as Cheshire-on-Sea :).
COTTAGE
3 double bedrooms. Bedrooms 1 (downstairs) & 2 have double beds the third has 2 single beds. There is a fully equipped kitchen, separate dining room, cosy lounge with window seat, L-shaped sofa, and smart TV. The bathroom is also on the ground floor with sink, shower and bath. There is a separate loo and a utility room with washer/dryer, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The cottage is beautifully decorated in a simple coastal style with stone flagged floors to the kitchen & dining areas and lovely carpets to the rest of the space. Our bedding is 100% cotton and we provide all your towels, beach towels, bed linen. Please note this is a home not a property investment, it has a relaxed feel and the sort of dings and dents you would expect from a family home so if a perfect white box is what you are after - this isn't the place for you :) however if you want to be able to enjoy your space without worrying that your kids are going to touch the walls or the dog will get sand on the carpet then Wild Thyme is PERFECT!
BOAT SHACK
As an additional living and lounging space we can also offer access to the Boat Shack. This will provide you with a large comfortable living space with seating, large outdoor deck with furniture and fire pit + the most incredible views out across the bay as well as the added convenience of a separate shower room. This can be arranged directly with us.
GARDEN
The garden is large and flat and ideal for children and secured dogs however it is the views that make this such a special place. Grab your glass of joy and sit on our cliff edge sun loungers, chill on the sofa set or perch on the 6 seater picnic table and watch the tide roll in or the sun rise and set - there is quite simply nothing like it. However please note that the garden IS NOT fenced to the road or the beach so please bear this in mind when booking.
To keep you happy on wet weather days we’ve gathered together loads of books, magazines and games for you to get stuck into. There is an Amazon Fire Smart TV also WiFi and a digital radio with Spotify connect.
Guest access
You have the run of the whole house, garden behind and in front of the cottage and up to 2 parking spaces on the drive. please note, the drive is shared with guests staying at the adjoining property. The house is perched above the village, and is a 5 minute walk into the centre with its shops, cafés, pubs, pizza shack, National Trust centre and huge sandy beach offering superb watersports including wind surfing, paddle boarding, surfing, body boarding, sailing and kayaking.
The wider peninsula is a designated area of outstanding beauty with so much to offer families, walkers, nature lovers and adventurers.
Other things to note
Please note there is a small, quiet camping field next to the house. It is nearly always families and walkers that stay there but there will be caravans and tents in close proximity to the cottage during the summer months.
Please also note that whilst the house is pet and child-friendly the garden is not enclosed. There is access onto the road at the front and down to the beach.
Please note that due to the layout and access steps to the cottage it unfortunately isn't suitable for wheelchairs users. For those with restricted mobility the downstairs bedroom may be suitable. Please feel free to message us directly with any questions or concerns you might have about accessibility.
