Our two double bedroomed - one bedroom has a king size bed - ground floor apartment has been completely refurbished. It has stunning panoramic sea views, a private garden, parking and is within a short walking distance of Dalkey village, the Dart train station and spectacular coastal walks.

The Nook is a very unique property in that it is surrounded by beautiful countryside and set on 2.5 acres of gated garden yet only 30 mins from the city centre and 35 mins Dublin airport via the M50.

Local places of interest include the seaside town of Bray, Shankill village, Dalkey village, Dun Laoghaire harbour, Killiney hill, Glendalough National park, Powerscourt Estate & Gardens, and Jonnie Foxs' pub to name but a few. An extensive guidebook with recommendations for all these places is provided upon arrival.

Guest Access:
The Nook adjoins a large family home however guests have access via a private entrance and are provided with the code for the electric gates. Private internal access includes the living room, kitchen, two large upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms and a garage with private laundry facilities. External access includes the garden space as shown in the photos and private tennis court. We ask that you respect our privacy and garden area surrounding the main house. If you would like to see the rest of the garden, greenhouse or vegetable patch please notify Daniel and he will arrange a tour.

The Dogs:
We have two very friendly dogs, Ben a golden retriever and Kenny a ruby king Charles who like to wander the grounds and interact with guests. They are wonderful with children however we ask that particularly young children are supervised in their company. If for whatever reason you are not comfortable with dogs please notify Daniel and he will ensure they are kept away from The Nook.

The Bus stop is located 1 minute from our home and the train station is 10 minutes walking. Buses and trains (D.A.R.T) run regularly to and from Dublin City. Guests are welcome to leave their cars parked at the house to avoid traffic and parking in the City.
Aircoach 702 Dublin Airport to Greystones direct route leaves guests at the Wilton Hotel stop which is 7 mins walk from the house, the Aircoach runs every 2 hours and takes approx. 1 hr 40 mins to Bray.

The bustling seaside town of Bray is a 40 minute walk or 10 minute bus ride away, while Shankill beach is a 25 minute walk or 7 minute cycle.

Inside our home is comfortable in year round - each bedroom has heating controls, blackout blinds, and WiFi reaching each room. There is a 4th bedroom that could be used for small children (2 to 6 years / 2 toddler beds). The whole house has oak flooring with underfloor heating throughout. The living room seats 6 people and the dining area seats 6 with additional chairs available in the garage if you have people over.

The house is located 5 minutes drive from Bray town centre and seafront. It is also conveniently located to explore the beautiful and scenic Wicklow country side (Kilruddery and Powerscourt estates close by) with easily accessible cycling and treking routes close by. Dublin airport is a 45 minutes drive. A supermarket is only 5 minutes walk away.

Modern , spacious room with 2 single beds in a family home with shared bathroom. The house is equipped with all mod cons (includes free Wifi). The house has been recently renovated. There is a big modern kitchen and a comfortable lounge area to relax day spent exploring the beautiful Wicklow country side. There is a seating area in the back of the garden.

The house is surrounded by the beautiful Kilruddery Estate, Bray Head and Sugarloaf mountains. The famous Bray to Greystones cliff walk is only 10 minutes walk away. There are multiple places to eat in Bray and a range of pubs and restaurants are to be found on Bray's promenade.

The house is well served by public transport with Dublin city center is just 40 minutes via train. It's 10 minutes drive or bus to scenic spots like Powerscourt gardens, or villages like Greystones. Iconic golf courses are nearby (Druids Glen) as is Ardmore film studio.

Welcome to a calm refuge very near Bray seafront in an atmospheric old home on a quiet street. You will be 5 mins walk to sea, harbour, shops, cafes and train station to Dublin City, with direct bus from airport via aircoach.ie
To protect house atmosphere and any other guests, I only accept guests with reviews on Airbnb.

The space
This spacious living room features a big window and an open fire. You are on the ground floor at the front of house with use of the spacious kitchen/fridge etc from 8.30am-7.30pm. The bed is a firm, good quality small double sofa bed with memory foam topper. It is offered only as a single (mail me if you are travelling with a young child).

Guest access
Guests are welcome to cook in the spacious kitchen. You can help yourselves to tea, coffee, milk and all the little basics of cooking (olive oil, garlic etc). There is a bathroom downstairs which you may share with other guests. There is a lovely back garden: you are welcome to sit in when it is warm enough.

During your stay
Guest interaction depends on my other commitments and on the needs of guests. I prefer to be natural and warm and flow with our different needs.

Other things to note
The atmosphere of the house is calm and relaxed, with some good books for those who like to read.

Welcome to my calm home, just five minutes walk from sea, wonderful Harbour Bar, restaurant Daata, affordable supermarkets and fast train to Dublin.

This is an old house: appreciated most by guests who enjoy being somewhere atmospheric, homey and imperfect. Warm and cosy, and now with good, reliable hot water/pressure in shower.

This is a traditional, more than 100 year old house on a quiet street. It will suit those who like natural things: wood, cotton sheets, quality coffee, etc. The house has a calm, quiet atmosphere, a big kitchen. Usually, I am present myself and working online from a different part of house.

Guests have their own fridge and are welcome to use the spacious kitchen from 8am. If you are the only guests, it may also be possible to use the living room. You also have access to a small back garden.
