Our two double bedroomed - one bedroom has a king size bed - ground floor apartment has been completely refurbished. It has stunning panoramic sea views, a private garden, parking and is within a short walking distance of Dalkey village, the Dart train station and spectacular coastal walks.

The Nook is a very unique property in that it is surrounded by beautiful countryside and set on 2.5 acres of gated garden yet only 30 mins from the city centre and 35 mins Dublin airport via the M50.

Local places of interest include the seaside town of Bray, Shankill village, Dalkey village, Dun Laoghaire harbour, Killiney hill, Glendalough National park, Powerscourt Estate & Gardens, and Jonnie Foxs' pub to name but a few. An extensive guidebook with recommendations for all these places is provided upon arrival.

Guest Access:
The Nook adjoins a large family home however guests have access via a private entrance and are provided with the code for the electric gates. Private internal access includes the living room, kitchen, two large upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms and a garage with private laundry facilities. External access includes the garden space as shown in the photos and private tennis court. We ask that you respect our privacy and garden area surrounding the main house. If you would like to see the rest of the garden, greenhouse or vegetable patch please notify Daniel and he will arrange a tour.

The Dogs:
We have two very friendly dogs, Ben a golden retriever and Kenny a ruby king Charles who like to wander the grounds and interact with guests. They are wonderful with children however we ask that particularly young children are supervised in their company. If for whatever reason you are not comfortable with dogs please notify Daniel and he will ensure they are kept away from The Nook.

Oakville is a bright, airy luxurious home close to all amenities, shops, trains, buses. 40 minutes from Dublin City Center by train or car, 10 minutes from Wicklow Mountains , Powerscourt Waterfall and gardens and 10 minutes from the beautiful Bray Seafront with a wide variety of bars, restaurants and fun beachfront activities. The Bus stop is located 1 minute from our home and the train station is 10 minutes walking. Buses and trains (D.A.R.T) run regularly to and from Dublin City. Guests are welcome to leave their cars parked at the house to avoid traffic and parking in the City.
Aircoach 702 Dublin Airport to Greystones direct route leaves guests at the Wilton Hotel stop which is 7 mins walk from the house, the Aircoach runs every 2 hours and takes approx. 1 hr 40 mins to Bray.

This semi-detached private home is situated in lovely Glenageary /Sandycove area of south county Dublin and has car parking. This bright, well decorated and airy modern home is a super base for walks to explore the pretty village of Dalkey a gourmet and literary Mecca,and home to film stars, artists, famous writers and members of U2. In fact Bono has often been seen taking a stroll through the village or having a pint in Finnegans! Just 10 minutes walk brings you to the pretty Sandycove beach, the Forty Foot bathing area and the James Joyce Tower. Don’t forget to stop in at Bullock Harbour where you can buy fresh lobsters and rent a boat there or at Coliemore Harbour, Dalkey and take a trip out to Dalkey Island. At certain times of the year you will be sure to see some seals around Bullock Harbour and off Dun Laoghaire piers.

Getting Around:
A selection of buses and the Dart train service can bring you in all directions throughout the counties of Wicklow and Dublin City Centre. Dublin City is only 30 minutes by Dart and 40 minutes by bus. The train station is a 10 minute walk from the apartment and buses are only a 2 minute walk from the apartment.

Arrived late due to delayed ferry crossing with bottle of vino to welcome us. Jonathan, the host, was amazing and continually contacted me to be sure everything was all OK.
