A delightful cottage located by the river in the sought after village of Baslow, adjacent to the pedestrian entrance to Chatsworth Park.
This refurbished 18th century cottage has original features over 3 floors. It is ideally positioned in this popular village close to excellent local amenities which include 2 village shops and a choice of restaurants, cafes and gastropubs. There is also a fine dining restaurant at Baslow Hall.
A short stroll over the river is the entrance to Chatsworth Park and all its attractions. Bakewell and Haddon Hall are within less than 7 miles. The market town of Chesterfield, with its crooked spire and Hardwick Hall are about 20-30 minutes drive, as are Edale and the Hope valley.
This is a prime walking area with so many walks from the front door. Go up onto the edges ( stunning views over the Hope valley) or walk along the river Derwent as far as Derby- if you have the energy.

The cottage was renovated over winter 2018 and the living accommodation enhanced, in line with recommendations from guest reviews to the previous owners. A downstairs toilet and dishwasher were also added. However, the property has steep and narrow stairs so is unsuitable for disabled visitors. It has since been redecorated as needed to maintain an extremely high standard of accommodation, including a recent bathroom renovation.

You enter the cottage into a generous living/dining room, with access to a kitchen and utility room at the rear, off which is a downstairs wc. The living room has a wood burning stove in the original fireplace and a music centre. From the kitchen, the back door leads to a paved courtyard with table, chairs and a BBQ. The kitchen is equipped with oven, hob, fridge with icebox, dishwasher, microwave and washer.
On the first floor is a cosy sitting room with a smart TV, DVD player and spacious bathroom with a separate shower, bath, wc and hand basin.
Stairs lead up to the second floor bedrooms. The rear bedroom has a king size zip and link bed which can be split into 2 singles. The front room has a double bed and fitted cupboards, with views from the velux window towards the park.

There is wireless internet throughout the property.

A first come first served parking space is available over the bridge for residents or there is ample parking in the village car park 100m away. We do ask that guests respect the parking restrictions outside the property, except for loading and unloading, for the sake of our neighbours. High chair and cot are available. Bedding and towels are provided.

A maximum of 2 dogs are welcome at a charge of £20 per dog but should not go on soft furnishings or in the bedrooms.

The self-contained, one bedroom apartment is suitable for two adults or one adult with child. It is set adjacent and detached from owners property in the quiet village of Middleton- by- Youlgrave approximately half a mile from the village of Youlgrave. Youlgrave has three pubs and two shops which provide visitors the opportunity to dine out and purchase local produce.
Located centrally to the market towns of Bakewell, Matlock, Ashbourne and Buxton, the apartment is ideal as a base to explore the Peak District or take a leisurely stroll from the door; cyclists are within easy reach of the Tissington Trail cycling route.
There is ample parking and a dedicated outdoor seating area within the gardens for relaxing.
Please note, access to the apartment is via one flight of stairs to the rear of garages.

2 Victoria Cottages is a cosy Grade ll listed former mill workers cottage. Set on the main road 200 yds from the centre of Bakewell, it is in a great location, just a short stroll from the town’s pubs, restaurants and shops.

Located in the heart of the White Peak, this beautifully presented rural retreat provides a comfortable base, whether you’re looking to enjoy some fresh air and long country walks, conquer the highest peaks or simply to relax and unwind in a friendly village pub.

The cottage is arranged in a traditional two-up, two-down style and benefits from both a private courtyard garden adjacent to the kitchen and additional terraced seating area, with wonderful views overlooking the rooftops of Bakewell.

The living area contains a comfortable sofa, dining area and smart TV. With a decorative fireplace and oak beams providing a cosy cottage feel, it is a relaxing space to retreat to, after a day out exploring the nearby walking and cycling trails.

The country style kitchen includes everything you need for your stay, with a cooker/hob, fridge freezer, washing machine and good quality cutlery and kitchenware, as well as a variety of extras such as tea, coffee etc.

The bedroom has a large king size bed, adorned with soft cosy duvet and white, quality, cotton bedlinen. The bedroom enjoys plenty of storage space and white towels are provided for use during your stay.

The bathroom contains a good quality, white bathroom suite with walk in electric power shower.

In addition to its central location in the historical market town of Bakewell, 2 Victoria Cottages also benefits from its own off-road parking space.

The parking and terraced seating area are accessed via approximately 30 steps, arranged over three flights of stairs. The steps are a mixture of traditional stone and concrete and are uneven in places, although they are accompanied by a sturdy handrail.

If you suffer from any mobility issues then please be aware that access to these areas may be limited.

It is possible to pull up directly outside 2 Victoria Cottages for a short period of time (single yellow line), in order to unload your bags/luggage. You can also use the front door day to day, if you are heading into Bakewell and do not need use of your car.

As you enter the shepherd's hut via the traditional wooden steps and stable door, you will find a comfortable, cosy, self contained space, with far reaching views over the Peak District countryside.

The beautifully fitted kitchen area includes two counter top electric hobs, a traditional Belfast sink, small fridge and wooden worktops. There is also a kettle, good quality cutlery and kitchenware, cleaning materials and a variety of extras such as tea, coffee etc. A slow cooker is also provided for use during your stay and can be found underneath the bed.

Enjoy your drinks and meals on the comfortable built in seating and sturdy wooden table, which has the option to fold away and provide additional space when not in use.

The comfortable king size bed is adorned with a soft cosy duvet and white, quality, cotton bed linen. Under bed storage and two drawers allow you to store items and keep the space clutter free.

The small but perfectly formed bathroom provides additional luxury with a good quality walk in electric shower, wooden vanity unit with bowl sink and fully plumbed toilet. An electric heated towel rail allows you to dry towels and keep the space warm. Two bath-sheets and two hand towels are provided for use during your stay.

A log burning stove provides warmth and character during the colder, winter months. We provide logs and fire lighting equipment from September to May to get you started and have additional supplies for sale, if required.

The area outside Sheldon Shepherd's Hut Cottage provides a private, quiet spot to unwind with a glass of wine, whilst watching our miniature Shetland ponies grazing and enjoying wonderful views across the peaceful, unspoilt countryside. A fire pit is available from May to October, along with a selection of logs and fire lighting equipment to get you started. Additional supplies can be purchased if required.

Enter the garden through the side gate at the rear of the property, where you'll discover a charming, fully enclosed cottage garden — perfect for relaxing and secure for your dogs. Outdoor seating makes it a lovely spot to unwind on warm evenings. There’s also an outdoor tap and hose for washing off muddy paws.

We kindly ask that dogs are clean and dry before entering the cottage after walks. You'll find plenty of towels available for your use.

Step directly into the dining room, which is beautifully furnished with a blend of Swedish and French antiques. A cosy French log burner creates a warm and inviting space for dining and entertaining. A supply of fuel will be provided, and should you need more, it’s available to purchase at Torne Valley in the centre of Bakewell.

From the dining room, you enter the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a Smeg oven with a gas hob, integrated dishwasher, fridge with a small freezer compartment, and a coffee machine with pods. You’ll also find cleaning supplies, condiments, and a small table — perfect for chatting while cooking.

Think of The Hide as a stone Bothy. .It has an exposed lime stone wall and oak beams but little storage space. It is NOT luxury but very comfortable with basic amenities and NO traffic noise! Not suitable for people with asthma.

The space

There are lovely walks of all levels from the door and the regular local buses open up linear walks to/from Bakewell, Matlock and Ashford-in-the-Water.

Visit The Hide throughout the year, both together and alone. There’s plenty of space for one; two need choreography once the sofa bed (super comfy - new September) is down. The walls are very thick, so it’s cosy and warm in winter and cool in the summer. Even in bad weather the view through the French windows is glorious and from the terrace it’s truly magnificent.

Inside The Hide, there is a NEW full sized comfortable double sofa bed, fridge, cooking facilities including a microwave, 2 electric rings, toaster and George Foreman grill. There is a table and chairs, a small desk, TV/DVD, shower and toilet. The shower and toilet have recently been upgraded. WiFi is available. There are 3 pub restaurants in the village We now also have an excellent village shop selling home reared meet, vegetables, fruit, sandwiches, household goods and excellent cakes. Peak Feast specialises in vegetarian food and bread and the Post Office sells newspapers, alcohol etc. and is open in the evening. There are regular buses to Bakewell.

As the accommodation is self-contained, I don't usually provide food. But there will always be tea, coffee etc. as well as basics such as cooking oil,salt and pepper. I can get in breakfast food if requested. You also need to be aware that The Hide often has guests with dogs. It is always thoroughly cleaned, but I can't guarantee it is totally free of stray dog hairs! NOT suitable if you have allergies or are particularly fastidious. Even though I always vacuum the stone wall and oak beams, I cannot be responsible for the occasional rogue spider!
The Hide is NOT luxury accommodation but I try to make sure everything possible is provided for a comfortable stay.

Wireless internet is available free of charge to all our guests. Outside there is ample off-street parking and lockable storage for motorcycles, bicycles and panniers. Free tea and coffee making facilities are provided in each bedroom and are restocked on a regular basis. During our busy period from Easter to September a two night minimum stay required.

Derby cottage is a cute and comfortable 1 bedroom property with a lovely homely feel. The cottage is in a traditional converted barn and is in the private grounds of a working farm, just outside beautiful Monyash.

The nearest pubs are less than 1/2 mile away and the nearest village shops are in Hartington.

Endmoor Farm is a 2 minute cycle from the Tissington Trail and is close to the Peak Pilgrimage and Limestone Way, so great for walking. It is Pet friendly with a lovely shared garden.

The space
Derby is a traditional barn conversion but is furnished to give a lovely fresh, calming feel. You are welcomed into a downstairs living area with a comfy leather sofa, flat screen TV and small dinning table and looks out into the shared, enclosed garden.

The Kitchen has everything you would need, an electric oven & grill, a good sized fridge and freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere.

Up the open staircase is a spacious bedroom with double bed, dressing area and an en-suite bathroom. The traditional deep windows look out onto some of our fields and Taddington Moor. There is ample space for a travel cot (infant facilities available by arrangement). There is a shared laundry room next door which houses the washing machine, tumble dryer, iron & board, mop and brush.

Guests share the garden and laundry room on this quiet site. A secure bike storage area is available for all guests to use on request, along with a bike wash off area. The cottages have their own dedicated car park which has its own EV charger.

Stone built house in lovely gardens with parking, centrally located in Great Longstone. Direct access to the Monsal Trail, great walking and cycling areas. Walking distance to 3 great pubs, with close access to Bakewell, Buxton Chatsworth House and Peak District attractions. Ensuite double bedroom with views to Longstone Edge. this is my home and i share it with guests in my double room on a trust basis so no locks on the inside doors.

The space
This is my spare bedroom in my home, it's small with a chair as well as the double bed. The ensuite shower is also small but purposeful for overnight stays, not for longer than 2 nights

Guest access
The only space is the entrance hall to get to the bedroom, no kitchen or sitting access but as guests come here to do activities, attend weddings or courses then eat out it has not been an issue. The basis is somewhere to sleep,change and leave their bags.

A much loved family home, over 300 years old, nestling in the small hamlet of Alport. Within a five minute drive of Bakewell, and only 10 minutes from Chatsworth, our relaxed home is the perfect base from which to explore the wonderful Peak District.

We love our home and are excited to share it with you and make sure you have the best time on your break with us.

The space
Traditional Georgian house with many period features. Your room has beautiful original windows with great views over the fields, plenty of wardrobe space and an ensuite bathroom with shower. There is a snug with a log stove for you to relax in and continental breakfast will be laid out for you to help yourselves to in the breakfast room. There are hot drinks available at all times in the dining room, milk in the fridge, so please help yourself. at any time.

We have plenty of parking on our drive, so please drive straight in on arrival.

Should you chose to eat in the village, the pubs are a 10 minute walk away in the village of Youlgrave.

During your stay
We will always try and be here to welcome you when you come to stay with us. However, we both work and there may be occasions when we have to leave you a key in our key safe. I will always send you full instructions so that access is never a problem. We will also provide you with a key for your sole use while you are here so you can come and go as you wish.

Other things to note
There are lots of lovely restaurants and pubs around here where you can enjoy great food at all different price levels. I will send you a list as soon as you book to help you navigate your stay. However, Taxi’s are rare and always need to be pre-booked.
