- "We stayed at this little ranch while in town for baseball at Grand Park. This house is in the middle of a very affluent area, there are a lot of restaurants and bars within driving distance. Also a nice area with some restaurants and shopping within walking distance, if you feel up for walking through a neighborhood with beautiful tree lined roundabouts and well manicured mansions. We had lunch and a drinks at Danny Boy (the blood orange margarita was fantastic). We were the first people to book and stay at this home and the owner, Tom, was very communicative and extremely encouraging to let him know if he needed to tweak anything for future guests. I sent him a small list of a few minor things that could make your stay more comfortable. I trust he will take those suggestions into consideration. It’s good to note this is an older home and does have well water. I grew up on a farm with well water so it was nothing new to me! Just know that sometimes the toilet water can look a little rusty. The refrigerator offers filtered water for drinking. There is a washer/dryer available in the garage, which is great for trips with baseball uniforms or anyone who just likes to go home with cleaned clothes. The house has an eclectic style, soft blue walls, mismatched furniture and the back bedroom was extremely comfortable. Overall, good stay in a nice area!"

Large deck which looks out to a small pond. Garage is heated with room for one car to park. Garage has a 240 volt outlet for EV charging. Further parking is available in driveway and on the street. House has two separate bedrooms with ceiling fans and queen beds. Fully equipped kitchen and laundry room. Open living space with a 52-inch Smart TV (photo shows the previous smaller TV) DVD and VCR player. Master bedroom has a 43 inch Smart TV, and second bedroom a smaller Smart TV. High speed wireless internet + an HP LaserJet Pro M118DW b/w printer. Sleeps 4 adults comfortably. A pack-and-play is provided for our younger visitors (If the pack-and-play is used, the guest must disassemble and pack it property, an extra fee will be charged if the cleaning crew has to do this). Please note there is no land-line telephone. Guests will need to use their cell phones to make calls. Security cameras monitor the outside of the house.

Please note that for reservations over 29 days, 50% will be refunded if cancelled at least 30 days prior to check-in date, and 100% if cancelled at least 60 days prior to check-in date.

- "I had a lovely stay at this beautiful home! It is truly in a peaceful and quiet neighborhood. There was plenty of room for me and my family, and the host provided plenty of fun things to do (magazines, board games, nice big TVs with internet access for watching movies). The yard looked beautiful too, but I visited in the winter so I did not have a chance to spend time outdoors. The master bathroom was especially nice with a rainfall showerhead... so luxurious! The host was kind and very communicative, keeping in touch even though I had no problems during my stay. I would definitely stay here again."

You'll have plenty to do in the home, situated on 1-acre in the heart of central Indiana, with a fully finished basement complete with arcade games and a dance floor! Let this home take you back while you reminisce about your childhood and enjoy all the retro decor.

Each room has been meticulously decorated with authentic 1970s decor, much of it original to the home:

Master bedroom - includes all the original furniture and original royal blue curtains, a new Sealy mattress, high thread-count sheets, and has an attached master bathroom with beautiful original baby-blue fixtures. Includes plush bath towels and soaps.

Second bedroom - decked out in purple to match the original purple shag carpet and purple curtains, includes a queen bed and vintage furniture and decor from Florida.

We have even included some vintage 1970s clothing in the closet, if you want to dress up and do your own photo session!

Third bedroom - with a custom painted mushroom mural on the focal wall, this bedroom includes 2 twin beds, which could be moved together for a king bed, if that better fits your needs. This room includes the original yellow and green shag carpet.

Down the hall, you will find a linen closet, stocked with toilet paper and extra towels, as well as the hall bath, which includes the original avacado green fixtures.

The formal dining room is decorated with the original floral curtains and all original dining room furniture, along with vintage dishes. Furniture in the formal living room is original and includes a vintage TV/Radio/Record player, along with an organ and the original curtains and sculpted carpeting.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need to cook a meal, and boasts an avacado green refrigerator and stove, along with a matching sink. (note: dishwasher is non-functioning). There is a crockpot, functional vintage microwave, and booster seat for the little one.

Family room is cozy and retro, including a console TV, which works and is hooked to satellite service. There is a sliding patio door which opens up to the back patio with retro patio furniture, and a peaceful and large back yard.

Basement includes the original red shag carpet, and in addition to a bar area and a cozy sitting area, there is a dance floor which has a table for a gaming area, a cabinet full of retro games, a ping-pong table, fooseball table, air hockey table, vintage bowling machine, pool table, skee-ball machine and an arcade game. There is also a laundry room in the basement, which includes a vintage harvest gold washer and dryer.

Guests who stay here will be taken back to the 1970s, to a simpler time. Please note, many of the items in this home are original to the home, and most items are vintage, therefore guests should understand items in the home are not always in new condition.

- "We rented this home for 2 months (and then extended for a 3rd month) as a place to stay during a work project. The home was in a perfect location to relax after work and enjoy the many restaurants within walking distance. So close to the Monon Trail, we just wish we had more time to explore. Having a garage was so hopeful to store our items we needed for set up, and having AC, a full size washer and dryer and 2 bathrooms made the stay comfortable for everyone who visited. We hated to leave, but moved onto the next phase of our project outside of the area. The owner is very responsive. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Carmel I highly recommend this home."

- "Day 1and 2 of a 7 day stay consisted of unnecessary stress due to the kitchen’s lack of basic supplies. No can or bottle openers, dish towels, pot holders, foils or wraps, napkins . There were four pans thrown on the counter and I had to assemble one of the lids myself. I had to cook spaghetti in a sauce pan because he did not have a taller pan and buy tin containers to broil fish. I also had to buy can/ bottle openers, napkins, wraps, dish towels, and dryer sheets. The host told me to use the extra dishwasher rack as a dry rack! The glassware was all very dusty so I had to clean them too. Our host told us numerous times he had met the minimum VRBO requirements to rent when we complained about numerous items that were usually available in other VRBO’s for this price and location. In addition the house was very cheaply furnished and the walls were all beat up with old hooks and no pictures. Lastly, before bed on Day 1 we discovered that the window above our heads leaked cold air and could not be closed so we had to put towels in the sill and mid section and I wore a hat to bed a few nights because it was a cold week! It really was a let down for the price and lack of attention to our needs by the host who got defensive and then unresponsive because he felt we asked too much of him. Lastly, the house’s TV system was just as basic as can be; you have to stream everything. In sum, a cheap host, very ill equipped drafty home and a very disappointing weeks stay."

Please note this is a family home. Absolutely no smoking will be permitted on the property. If booking for an event this space is best suited for an indoor/outdoor patio combo for entertaining. Can accommodate no more than 15 cars. There is electronic heat on the wall, as well as a space heater in the winter. A window AC air unit will be on and available in summer months for the space. We have new windows installed as of (2023) which makes the room much more comfortable!! All money we make goes back into updating the house. New Bathroom coming 2026!

Step into the full walk-in convenient bathtub after a long day- here, you can unwind and soak away the day's stress under the shower head. The hot/warm water is always available so adjust accordingly.

If you enjoy cooking, a well-equipped kitchenette, with an Air fryer for cooking, broiling or baking is there. A mid-sized fridge is also available for your use. Follow the manual instructions on using the Air fryer, and other instructions for using the electric induction stove top to cook your simple dishes like scrambled eggs, bacon etc.. or soups and anything to boil is available too. Pls. use compatible pans provided for the ind. stove. A full coffee station, a tea kettle, a microwave and dishes with cutlery are all ready for you. For tinned cans see the electric can opener in the cabinet and a blender for nutritious smoothies.
And if work calls, a dedicated workspace is at your disposal. An available full phone-charging station, high speed Wi-fi that helps connect to the internet and great lighting will also make your day productive. The entire unit has a central heating thermostat albeit located in a different hall way but it controls the cooling in the suite too. The spare heater/fan can be controlled directly by the guest in their suite and they'll have to control it to the desired temperature. See photos). Dog bed and dog dishes are available upon request. Spacious new 30’ travel trailer on 2 acres in Carmel near bike and walking paths. Our residence is on the same property should you need assistance. You get a king bedroom, a flat screen TV, sound system inside and out, well stocked kitchen, outdoor bonus kitchen and eating area. The camper will be prepped for your Carmel Glamping adventure! We have a lovely cottage-like home. About 2000 SQ ft. Space for games, movies on Netflix, and socializing. We have garage parking for one car and a driveway that can accommodate 2 more cars. We do require that our guests do not park on the street since this seems to disturb our neighbors.

We have quiet and private backyard, but it is not fenced in. There are some local yards who rent out their fenced backyard on an hourly bases. Check out SniffSpot.com.

In summer months the upper level of the home can be about 8 degrees warmer than then lower level.

We provide starting supplies like dishwasher pods, laundry pods, trash bags, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner and soap. If you are staying longer than the supplies last we ask that you replenish.

We guarantee snow removal for the parking area and pathway to the house only on the check-in date. Any additional snow removal requests will be the guest's responsibility and expense.

★ PET-FRIENDLY HOME (pet addendum to be signed within 1 day of booking; 2 dogs max) ★
Bring your furry friends along for an exciting vacation. They'll get to enjoy and run around the spacious yard while you relax in the sunroom. We currently allow two small dogs per booking. (Pet fee is not refundable, pet deposit depending on the situation is fully refundable)

The living room fireplace is an electric fireplace.
Please do not burn any wood inside the family room fireplace for safety reasons.

★ NO SMOKING INSIDE ★
Please refrain from smoking inside the home! Any smoking evidence will result in a fee for odor removal and furniture cleaning.

★ RING DOORBELL / FLOODLIGHT★
Please note there is: (i) an exterior ring doorbell camera, and (ii) an exterior ring floodlight, capable of recording. For security purposes, please always close the front storm/screen door.
Any tampering with the camera will not be tolerated, and will result in a fine of $500.

★ FREE ADDITIONAL CLEANING DURING THE STAY ★
Cleaning is once per month (e.g., for a 2 month stay, cleaning at midway will be free; for a 90 day stay, there will be 2 more free cleanings, etc.).

★ THERMOSTAT SETTING★
Please make sure not to use the emergency heat setting. "EM Heat" stands for "Emergency Heat" and is a backup heating system on a thermostat, meaning it should only be used in case your primary heating system fails, while "Heat" refers to your regular, primary heating function, which is designed for everyday use; essentially, "EM Heat" is a less efficient, higher-cost option to be used only in emergencies when the regular heat isn't enough.
WEEKDAY BETWEEN 8AM & 5PM: For energy conservation, it will be scheduled at 65F.

Accommodations include a semi-attached carriage home w/dedicated garage parking, fully equipped kitchen, W/D, access to commercial style fitness center, indoor half bball court with pickleball & plenty of outdoor living and areas to explore.

The space
The main living area of our guest space is the carriage house, which is on the 2nd floor of a garage. The guest space consists of an open concept living space including a main sleeping area which has a king sized bed, living room, kitchen, dining nook, and workspace area all in the same space. Very similar to a loft.

The open space creates a cozy, warm environment for re-connecting with loved ones and reminds us all to slow down and read a book, play board games, write a letter, or simply sip your coffee while overlooking the pond and 13 acres of natural beauty.

The one closed off bedroom is a bunk room, which consists of 2 XL twin beds, a small dresser and comfy sitting area. No TV.

There is a large, full bathroom where vanity and shower/toilet area are separated by a pocket door.

The kitchen, while quaint, is still fully equipped with everything you need and would expect at your own home to make any sized meal.

The carriage house is completely private and not shared with the owner during your stay.

Below the carriage house is a heated garage, which all guests can take advantage of during their stay, unless they choose to park in the street, which is also allowed. The laundry area is also in the garage.

On the ground floor is also the fitness center, which has commercial level equipment and has something for everyone. Cardio, free weights, yoga mats, medicine balls, specialty machines and beyond!

Then there is the indoor basketball court. It's 40'x60', so not only does it make a great place for half court basketball, it also has lines drawn in for regulation pickleball. Just roll the net in place and you're ready to go! The basketball court arguably has the best views on the property. You have a front and center view of the beautiful pond and fountain.

The pond seems to attract all kinds of wildlife-ducks, blue heron, deer, fox, even bald eagles!

The large gazebo has rocking chairs and side tables and walks out to a fishing dock where you can drop a line in our stocked pond, or simply sit in the adirondack chairs and relax. Maybe even a lake side picnic!

Between the fitness center and the basketball gym is the "gym kitchen" and bathroom. Although shared with the owner, it's rarely used. It's great if you prefer to have a bit more space to make and serve a meal and gather with loved ones and friends.

The full bathroom consists of a private toilet room, infrared sauna and large shower.

Right outside the basketball gym, looking out to the pond is your private patio under a pergola with a Weber grill, dining area, seating area and large custom gas fireplace.

Immediately to the North is a large, open and vacant part of the property that is great for flying kites, picnics, playing sports or just day dreaming!

For an additional/higher cost, and by request, we do have the ability to accommodate more guests staying on the property in a fun basketball themed sleeping arrangement in the basketball gym. Please inquire for more info!
