We have a hypoallergenic space (no pets). This is a 3-room standalone unit within a house. The larger house is not rented out; second floor is reserved for our family use. Guests have the only rental space on site, nice and quiet.

Please, do not try to access the other side through adjoining door or enter the basement. There is a deck that you can enjoy. Be mindful, the deck is a shared space with the other unit. If you use the grill, you will need to scrape the grates when finished.

Although, you'll probably want to spend most of your time out of doors, there are games and books and cozy seating for the evening or a rainy day.

Some great side junkets include Three Oaks which is about 25 minutes away. Sample a couple of craft cocktails and get a bite to eat at the Journeyman Distillery. A wonderful distillery occupying the historic Featherbone building, which manufactured corsets and buggy whips, back in the day. Be sure to visit Trilogy, and some of the other unique shops in the historic downtown district.
Bridgeman is also about 25 minutes away and have a couple of great breweries. Sample a flight and pick up a growler of your favorite!
The Red Arrow Highway is a great driving excursion with lots of restaurants and antiques shops along the way.
Need a nice space for a Notre Dame home game? This location is only 3 blocks walking to the South Shore train line which is a 40 minute ride to the South Bend airport and a quick cab or Uber to the game field. About 30 minutes by car.

We would be delighted to share our tranquil Michiana Shores oasis with you and your group. The home is designed and furnished to be a cozy yet luxurious escape from the busy realities of modern life. Sit back and relax on the huge wraparound porch or enjoy the wood-burning fireplace or backyard firepit. Beautiful Lake Michigan beaches are within walking distance (or a 3 minute ride on our golf cart available for an extra fee) and downtown New Buffalo is a 7-minute drive. Enjoy the local restaurants, hiking, wineries, breweries, casinos and golf all within a few miles of the property. There is a park with a playground and tennis court in the neighborhood and a horseback riding stable is just down the street.

The home has 2 bedrooms with an additional queen bed in the loft. The loft also features a family area with a large sectional couch so you can watch movies or play games with the whole group.

- "This was the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in! The beds were comfortable. I would say, if there were any downsides, it would be that the property was sparsely furnished, which meant there wasn’t a lot of seating in the living room area to watch TV, but it worked for our family. It might not if you had more than 4. But really, that was pretty minor compared to the pluses of this property. The walk down to the beach was pretty short, which meant we were able to walk down anytime we wanted to, which allowed us to go in the evenings when it was less crowded and enjoy the sunsets and swimming. There was beach parking, for those who didn’t want to walk, but as far as we could tell, it was $15/day, so we just walked down. The property was quiet and the neighborhood was too. It was only a 15-20 minute drive to Indians Dunes National Park. We didn’t go to the zoo, but it was also very close. The lighthouse museum and pier were nearby and we were able to take advantage of fishing opportunities while there. Overall, our stay was lovely and I recommend this property."

Stay in a beautifully restored studio in the Uptown Arts District of Michigan City. This studio, is less than a block to Franklin Street. Easily within walking distance of so many new restaurants, and coffee shops. This elevated studio used to be home to a storefront, and has amazing light. We are granted an exemption (for health reasons) for hosting service animals or emotional support animals. Any animal on the property will lead to an automatic eviction and $1000 fine per animal minimum.

We do have RING Cameras on the outside of the home as well as the lobby/laundry area.

Scenic Skies sleeps max of 6 people: One bedroom (king bed), another bedroom (queen bed) and a living area large enough to lay down the additional 4” foam floor mattress (queen sized). Mattresses provided on the beds are Zinus Green Tea memory foam mattresses.

TECHNOLOGY:
--A large, flat screen smart TV is hooked up in your living area, though we recommend the outdoors over the tube! ;)

OUTDOOR SPACE:
--The shared outdoor space in the backyard is accessible by going down the stairs from the back bedroom. Outdoor Edison bulb lights surround a heavy duty wooden picnic table (seats 8), as well as a firepit with benches surrounding it. Roast a s’more and enjoy! Note that this space is shared with guests in the other two units below the Scenic Skies Unit, so you may see them outside utilizing this area as well.

ADDITIONAL INFO:
We welcome guests of all backgrounds! However, due to prior disrespectful renters and property damage, we will only be accepting booking requests from:
--AirBnB users who are "verified" and who already have positive reviews from other hosts.
--Renters that are above the age of 25.
--Renters who are not bringing pets.
--A maximum of six guests per reservation. Extra guests are not allowed. If you have more travelers and would like to rent more than one unit, feel free to click on our profile to see “The Sunshine House: Wild Woodlands Unit” and "The Sunshine House: Breezy Beach Unit.” This will allow you to rent the other private units within the house at the same time, sleeping up to 16 people total.
--We value our relationship with our neighbors, so events/gatherings/parties are not to be held by guests. In order to keep the unit in excellent condition for future guests, we are firm on these rules. We apologize for this inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

***As hosts, we have sustained damages to our properties in the past. Because we value our relationships with our neighbors and because we aim to keep the properties in top condition, we do require guests to have previous positive reviews from past trips. If you do not have previous positive reviews from past trips, we do require a fully refundable $500 damage deposit. The deposit is returned on your day check out when the cleaning team arrives and confirms the property is in good condition.***

***Smoking is NOT allowed inside or around the property. If there is any evidence smoking occurred inside or within 50 feet of the property (smoke smell, ashes, paraphernalia, etc) there will be an additional $300 cleaning charge and/or loss of security deposit if one was collected.

***Note that the neighborhood itself is transitional, and while our guests have never had safety issues while staying with us, the area hosts eclectic mix of people: both locals and tourists. The police station is less than a mile away, along with many other popular restaurants and attractions. If you have any specific questions or concerns, please feel free to read previous location ratings/reviews from other guests, and/or reach out prior to booking.

***Note that there are train tracks a few blocks away. When a train goes by, you may hear the whistle. Train schedules vary greatly so there is no telling how often you will hear it while vacationing—Many of our guests have said they never heard it, some others say they were bothered by it. We've provided sound makers in each room (and beside the futon) for light sleepers. The vast majority of our guests do not complain of the train, but you are welcome to bring ear plugs for nighttime if you’re a light sleeper or if you’re concerned.

***Note that if you are bringing infants/babies, the unit is NOT baby-proofed. (Furniture is not secured to walls, outlet blockers are not included, cabinets/drawers are not locked, etc.) You assume responsibilities for all guests.

***Note that the lower units may be rented out at the same time, (their ceilings are your floor) so there is potential for noise from other guests.

***Note that the steps to this upper unit are incredibly steep. (The unit is historic and was built in the late 1800s.) If all guests in your party are NOT able-bodied, it will be difficult to access the unit. Check-in is any time between 4-10 PM; you will likely have guests in the unit below you so if arriving late please be very mindful of noise levels; guests must check out by 10 a.m. so that we can clean/prepare for our next renters before they arrive.

The space
Janet and I have always taken great pride in having our units furnished, clean and tidy.

This cute apartment has all of the beautiful features of days gone by.
It is located in the historical district in Michigan City. Our building was built in 1882 and is the upper rear unit. It is a quiet, one BR with a full size bed and a full kitchen. The bathroom has an old time claw tub (great for soaking and reading a book) with a shower! Note: The toilet is in a smaller space and a larger person may find it uncomfortable.
Guest access
Parking is available on the street in front of the building or in the rear of our property. Walking uptown to the retail shops and restaurants is always fun and weather permitting; we are only 10 blocks to the beach. Uber is available in Michigan City as well!
Other things to note
Tub is a vintage clawed tub great for long baths.
Toilet area is small and difficult for larger guests. See picture.

This apartment has all of the beautiful features of days gone by. Located on the main floor, this apartment has the character of the building from when it was built in 1882. From the pine wooden floors to the arched doorways it boasts such a calming restful atmosphere that your trip will feel like you are at home. It does also have the modern features that will make your stay delightful. A full new tiled shower, dishwasher, internet and a king size bed will add convenience and luxury to your stay. Parking is available on the street in front of the building or in the rear of our property. Walking uptown to the retail shops and restaurants is always fun and weather permitting; we are only 10 blocks to the beach. Uber is available in Michigan City as well!

The cons were very few washcloths/towels and a fairly firm, small(double) master bed. This historic home, originally built in the early 1900s, was thoughtfully redesigned and remodeled into four private units in the early 2000s. The property retains much of its original Victorian charm, including beautiful wood plank floors, high ceilings, gables, wide arches, and classic staircases. At the same time, modern upgrades were added, including fully equipped kitchens, upgraded electrical systems, and individual central air conditioning and heating in each unit, offering the perfect blend of old-world elegance and contemporary comfort.

Welcome to the Cozy Getaway in Michigan City, one of four units in a charming 4-plex. Escape with family or friends near the dunes of Lake Michigan! This unit is very spacious and has an open concept,. Guests will love being able to walk to the beach, outlet mall, zoo, restaurants and shops. Minutes drive to hiking trails in the nation's newest national park, casino, wineries, boat rentals, splash pad and park. This is the perfect little getaway for up to 4 people who want to relax or adventure

The space
Large & Spacious 1bed/1bath upstairs apartment with full kitchen, dishwasher, breakfast bar, queen size bed, sofa bed, loveseat and complete turnkey for your stay. Open concept between the family room, kitchen, desk & dining room table. We are located directly across the street from the Lighthouse Outlet Mall. This apartment has never had pets. No pets allowed. There is a large porch to read or have coffee.

To avoid any confusion, potential guests should thoroughly read ALL information below before requesting to book. (We promise that the info below will better prepare you for your trip and answer 99% of your questions!) Thank you!

I have to warn you definitely not a hook up spot or party house!!! typically rise with rooster on this 5 acre country setting with a small fishing pond. 420 friendly .. Quiet hours are 11 -8 generally some music playing, musicians are welcome !! if you happen to book on a Sunday i host an Open Mic in my Barn every Sunday ..... pretty relaxed. Upon arriving, turn into the driveway, and then right into the yard. Apartment is upstairs, the door is open with the keys inside. ✌️

The main bedroom has a queen bed and glass doors that open up to the private balcony. The living room has a full size sleeper sofa as the second bed. Just over an hour from Chicago and minutes away from Michigan City Lighthouse Outlet Mall and Blue Chip Casino. Walking distance to Washington Park Zoo and Harbor.

If a security team is called due to an infraction of the house rules, the guest agrees to pay for the security team ($500 minimum) and the duration of the reservation, even if removed by the security team due to the infraction.
Blocking of RING camera's will lead to an AUTOMATIC EVICTION. No Refund will be issued and guest will be handed out a fine up to $500.
Please DO NOT flush feminine products/paper towels/any foreign substance down the toilet (ONLY toilet paper). It is not good for the pipes and if there is an issue we may pass the charge onto the guest.
Laundry room will be off limits from 11am - 4pm daily. Please plan accordingly! We will have to take laundry out if being used as our clean team may need the machines. If so, one may be subject up to a $100 fine.
We do NOT allow late check out. There is a charge of $25/10 min after 11AM.

Updated apartment featuring a full kitchen with new appliances and two smart TV's to access your favorite apps.

The living room and bedroom are a shared space with a pillow top queen bed that is perfect for 2 people. There is also a sofa bed that we recommend for one person but can accommodate 2. There is one TV in this room that can be turned and tilted to be seen from all angles. This room also features a comfy chair, plenty of closet space, and blackout curtains for a peaceful nights sleep.

The kitchen has a full stove/oven, all cooking utensils, and pots and pans. There is a Keurig coffee machine with daily coffee pods supplied. There is also a standard coffee pot/maker in the pantry.

There is a full bathroom with a bath tub and shower. Soap, shampoo, and conditioner are also supplied.

There is free access to high speed wifi so you can sign in to your favorite media apps and work seamlessly.


We have a strict NO SMOKING policy inside the apartment.
This includes e-cigarettes, vaping, hookah, candles and incense.

No Pets allowed in the apartment out of respect for permanent tenants in other apartments.

**Unit Perks:**
- The living room includes a sofa bed, allowing the apartment to comfortably accommodate up to 2 guests.
- The kitchen is fully stocked with a fridge/freezer, sink, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, blender, and coffee maker. We also provide essential items like plates, cups, cookware, utensils, and paper towels.
- Enjoy coffee, creamer, and sweetener, which are provided for your convenience.
- Cooking essentials such as cooking spray, olive oil, and salt/pepper are available.
- A hair dryer, showering essentials, and bath towels are provided. Each bedroom comes with dresser storage.
- An iron and ironing board are available for your use.
- Small beach toys and beach towels are provided for kids, and there are a few board games for family fun.
- Guests may park in the parking lot right next to the unit, and bike racks are available at the entrance for securely locking up bikes.
- For a restful night’s sleep, there are earplugs in the nightstand and white noise machines in the bedroom to ensure a peaceful stay.

We welcome guests of all backgrounds! However, due to past experiences with property damage and disrespectful renters, we will only accept booking requests from:
- Airbnb users who are "verified" and have positive reviews from other hosts.
- Renters who are 25 years of age or older.
- A maximum of four guests per reservation. Extra guests are not allowed.

We value our relationship with our neighbors, so events, gatherings, and parties are not allowed. To maintain the property in excellent condition for future guests, we strictly enforce these rules. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

- Baby-Proofing: The unit is not baby-proofed. Furniture is not secured to walls, outlet blockers are not provided, and cabinets/drawers are not locked. You assume responsibility for the safety of all guests, including infants and children.

Please note: We do not allow late check-ins, and there is no after-hours customer service available. Guests must arrive within the designated check-in window.

- Check-in Instructions: Detailed check-in instructions, including a key code for entry, will be sent via Airbnb messenger on the morning of your scheduled arrival.

**GUEST ACCESS**
Guests have full access to the entire property. At least one host is always available via text if you need assistance during your stay.

**FOR STAYS LONGER THAN 21 DAYS**
An additional cleaning fee will be applied to ensure the continued cleanliness and maintenance of the unit, as our cleaners will be required to service the unit every 20 days. This charge helps us provide a high standard of cleanliness throughout your extended stay.
