- "In town for a surprise birthday party for our brother, siblings stayed here and the house worked well for our group." - "The pictures were nice but the house did not align with the pictures. The exterior was filled with cobwebs, there was no mulch around the landscaping, and the exterior lights did not work. The entry lights (inside the house) also did not work. The towels had been folded up wet and smelled musty. Pillow cases were also wet. The lights in the basement laundry room didn't work so had to use cell phone to see. A partial roll of toilet paper was left in a bathroom with what appeared like blood or feces on it and there was what appeared to be pet urine on the corner of the bed skirts. Sheets also did not fit the bed size so popped off the mattress. The manager was prompt to respond and attempted to send new sheets, towels and toilet paper. However, the products were delivered to the wrong address. I asked to be let out of the stay and my request was denied. "

If you feel very adventurous, just leave your car in garage, pick up a bike and ride the Lake Shore Bike trail all the way to downtown Chicago, enjoying the beautiful scenery. If you feel less adventures but still would like to enjoy beautiful scenery, you can do it by taking a train. Metra can get you downtown Chicago in less than 45 min. and the stop is within walking distance.

Our charming & relaxing home is modern and has a finished basement equipped with a pool table in the basement, with a foldable ping pong table and 55inch TV that makes it perfect for kids to lounge and have fun. All parts of the house is perfect to lounge and relax in, the space is well decorated with a large open space concept in the dining room and fireplace with a family room.

Equipped with high speed wifi, large 65 inch Roku Smart flat-screen TV (made easy for streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney Plus, etc), heating, AC, washer & dryer plus 1-car garage parking with space for 4 cars to be parked on driveway.

We also have a fully stocked kitchen with blender, coffee, toaster, refrigerator, oven, stove, and dishwasher. All new appliances.

The master bedroom has a luxurious king bed and there are blinds in every room.

The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, blinds, and a workspace.

All of our bedrooms have the softest memory foam mattresses and fluffiest pillows that makes sleeping its own sanctuary!

Charming home in Highland Park. The space is my in-law suite which is in the lower level of my home and has its own full size kitchen and bathroom. We live up-stairs with our 3 little dogs so we will be available if you need anything during your stay. The in-law suite is set up like a studio and has one queen bed,a separate closet area and laundry. Please note- the suite is in the basement, but there is natural light. You have shared use of the deck/yard if desired.

A perfect place to visit the northern highlights of Chicago! 1/4 mile from Ravinia! 1.5 miles from the Botanic Gardens! 30 minutes from Chicago (an hour and a half from Milwaukee). Close to trains, planes, and easy automobile access. A two-bedroom gem in the heart of so many wonderful things. Other local places include Northwestern University, Lake Forest, Winnetka, and Lake County.

I have a cat living here, but he will accompany me when I leave.

The space
The house is the home of an artist (me!), so it has an eclectic taste of paintings, found objects, and quaintness. It is perfect for a couple and offers a bright coziness in every room (although with two bedrooms, it can comfortably accommodate two couples). It is approximately 1,400 sq. ft. with a semi-finished, comfortable basement (including a fireplace and a third bedroom, should that be needed). The bedrooms are a nice size, and the upstairs bathroom is also a good size. The dining room comfortably sits 4-5, and there is an Alexa for your listening pleasure. It plays anything. You simply have to ask! The kitchen is galley-style, but there's plenty of room to prepare your favorite meal. I have most of the utensils and cookware, but I'm no gourmet chef! I keep space in the fridge and freezer for your needs, and feel free to use any items in there or the pantry, for that matter.

If you have a pet staying, I would prefer it to be crated if you leave it alone in the house, and please clean up after it.

I have a recycling bag in the pantry for your recyclables, and the trash bin is in the kitchen. You will find the trash cans (for garbage and recycling) located by the side of the house.There is a third trash can for compost items; they can be put directly into the blue and yellow bins.

Additionally, there is a whole closet in the second bedroom available for your use. The backyard patio has a grill and seating for six and is lit when the sun goes down. I try to keep things quiet after 9 in respect for my neighbors. Please park your car on the driveway, and I recommend locking it at night. The space
Our home was fully renovated in 2022 and designed for our guests to feel comfortable and relaxed.

On the main floor you will find a delightfully open living room, dining room, and kitchen, as well as a full bath and three bedrooms. The back door opens onto an expansive yard and screened in porch.

One floor down you’ll find a large recreational room with a big screen TV and sectional - perfect for game days and movie nights! - as well as a cozy reading nook and bean bag chairs that can easily convert into a child’s play area. The lower level is completed by a large bedroom with two queen beds and a second full bath. There is a private entrance on the lower level, as well.

The home boasts two private work stations: one in an upstairs bedroom and the second on the lower level bedroom. The dining room can also be used as a separate work station.

Set in the midst of an affluent neighborhood, this spacious and sunny four bedroom retreat offers all the comforts of a home away from home. With it's perfect location close to Lake Michigan, Chicago Botanical Garden, Ravinia, Naval Base, and Six Flags Great America to name a few, our family home is within reach to Chicago as well. If you feel very adventurous, just leave your car in garage, pick up a bike and ride the Lake Shore Bike trail all the way to downtown Chicago, enjoying the beautiful scenery. If you feel less adventures but still would like to enjoy beautiful scenery, you can do it by taking a train. Metra can get you downtown Chicago in less than 45 min. and the stop is within walking distance.

★ EARLY CHECK-IN REQUESTS ★
Before you arrive in town, we need to ensure our previous guests have checked out, that the housekeeping service and maintenance has been through the unit, and that linens and towels are fresh and ready for your visit. All this takes time and needs to be done before you check in. Due to this tight timeframe, we don’t typically allow early check-ins. In the event we don’t have a check out before your visit we can arrange an early check-in.

✅ This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $64 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.

The space
Our charming & relaxing home is modern and has a finished basement equipped with games in the basement, with a foldable ping pong table and 55inch TV that makes it perfect for kids to lounge and have fun. All parts of the house is perfect to lounge and relax in, the space is well decorated with a large open space concept in the dining room and fireplace with a family room.

Equipped with high speed wifi, large 65 inch Roku Smart flat-screen TV (made easy for streaming Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney Plus, etc), heating, AC, washer & dryer plus 1-car garage with space for parking 4 cars to be parked on driveway.

We also have a fully stocked kitchen with blender, coffee, toaster, refrigerator, oven, stove, and dishwasher. All new appliances.

The master bedroom has a luxurious king bed and there are blinds in every room.

The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed, blinds, and a workspace.

The 3rd bedroom includes a queen bed and blinds

The house is walking distance from Ravinia Festival, downtown Ravinia Restaurants, and glorious Rosewood Beach; a healthy walk or short drive from Metra Train Stn. to Chicago and from the Chicago Botanical Gardens. Of course, guests can always choose instead to relax fireside, on the roof deck, or at the home’s private beach. Perfect for 4 guests, it accommodates 6. 2K, 2Q, 2.5 baths.

Stepping into this house is like stepping onto a magic carpet and floating out over Lake Michigan

Guests will have the house to themselves. First floor features a foyer opening on to the giant Great Room with balcony over looking Lake Michigan; off of the Great Room are a reading room and a large fully-equipped commercial kitchen. Two bedrooms and 1.5 baths are located on the first floor. The second flight has two lakeside bedrooms and a bath, as well as a roof deck. Basement unfinished and available for laundry purposes only. Grounds feature a large patio, large yard, and bluff pathway to home's private sandy beach.

Other things to note
The private beach is fantastic, if you like beaches and endless ocean views and silence. (Yes, I said "ocean." Lake Michigan is an inland ocean. You'll understand after a stay.) The path down to the beach is steep in parts and closed for safety reasons during the winter months.

The space
There will be constriction of a new house at the lot next door during the summer of 2025.

Step into a huge entryway that walks though to the huge living room with a wet bar . To the side there is a comfy family room that is perfect for watching TV. Along with the seasonal huge swimming pool there is a brand new jacuzzi to use year round! Four bedrooms are above, two share a bathroom, one has its own bathroom with a tub that is more for baths than showers. The primary suit has a huge shower with a steam feature and big jacuzzi tub. It also has a movie screen that comes down from the ceiling with a smart protector above the bed. The other two bedrooms are not as swanky. Bedroom five is off the kitchen and gets a lot of light. The sixth bedroom is in the basement, it has its own full bathroom but this room gets no light, it is for the person who likes a cool dark room or the person who kicked in the least for this rental.
The basement has 3 pinball games, a driving game, ski ball, a NICE air hockey table, the expensive kind that they have at real arcades. The felt on the pool table has seen better days but it works and you don’t have to worry about kids messing it up. There is also a ping pong topper they also is not in great condition but works. There is a blow up castle that is in great shape, it has never seen the outdoors, you do need to duct tape it to the blower though, unless i figure out a better way. The yard is huge and is great for sports. There isn’t much garage space but there is space for one car and plenty of outdoor parking. The ceiling lights are a bit odd, they are everywhere and hard to figure out, you just have to play around with them. There are two refrigerators and plenty of cabinet space. Because this is my family home the junk drawers are full and I keep a cabinet for my food, if you would like anything from my cabinet feel free. My kid’s rooms are on a separate floor that I lock from the entryway. We rent this house during our school breaks. Summer 2024 we will be looking for one renter to take it for our 2 to 3 month break.
