- "I met w a couple of girlfriends for a girl’s weekend. We had 2 small dogs with us. The house was very clean and better stocked than any rental any of us have ever stayed in. This place had everything! Kitchen was super functional with new appliances, bathroom was well stocked and spacious (we did find the shower floor to be a bit slippery). The back yard was ideal for dogs and the poop bag dispenser was perfect! It was convenient to stores and restaurants. We plan to return!"

- "The host was amazingly responsive. The property was clean. There is construction around the area as it is growing but was very quiet you didn't hear all the noise when you were in the house. Great space for entertaining we had seven plus a baby tons of room for family and local family to come visit and hang out. very clean very homey very spacious will totally be staying again when in the area. The check in and out process was so easy and they don't slap you with ridiculously high fees. It had some christmas decorations up and games to play. We felt we walked into a family members home and were instantly comfortable. Ample seating, great kitchen basics, clean bedding and soft towels."

Our place is close to Downtown Greenfield (famous for James Whitcomb Riley) and Knightstown (famous for the movie Hoosiers and the antique stores). Our home dates back to 1838, and possibly to 1790s when it was a stagecoach inn off the National Road. Our place is good for solo adventurers, business travelers, and pets.

We took a decrepit historical house and made it into something our own with the skills of our creative carpenter.

Access to all parts of the house. The dining room, kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, living room are all on the bottom level of the house.

During your stay
If we're here, we'll be around. I've had guests stay while we were out of town, and I've had guests that partied with us when we were here with friends. We've had dogs, motorcycles, major band equipment, and an entire band sleep here once.

Other things to note
Since our house sits on U.S. 40, it can be noisy for people not used to road noise. We have one indoor-outdoor cat. There is no air conditioning, no central air.

This lovely Victorian private bedroom is located in the downtown part of Greenfield and within walking distance to many local shops and restaurants. It is literally right next to the James Whitcomb Riley Home and Museum so you can step out the backyard and visit all of the history of this beautiful small town. It has a private Victorian claw tub as well as a seating area and living space for your use. You also have access to a private hot tub as well as a small coffee bar. Very romantic!
