We adjusted our schedule so that we could visit with the horses before breakfast and before settling in for the night. How could we not love them - the seniors, the 2-day old, the yearlings? As far as the location, we were very satisfied. The beautiful road to Paris was only a few miles. From there, the attractions of Lexington were about 30 minutes away. The Ark Encounter was about an hour away, but we enjoyed sightseeing the whole way. Paris was also a nice town. When we get back to Kentucky, Rosecrest Farm will be our first destination."

The Howard was built in 1920 in the back yard of an c.1840 Antebellum Mansion on Lexington's swanky West Third Street. In fell into disrepair and we bought it in 2007. We turned the existing eight apartments into five renovated condos with all the modern amenities, but preserving all of the vintage charm. They are small and incredibly cozy with a great room with opening windows on the second floor.

We refinished the hardwood floors, cleaned all the window and door hardware, repaired windows, and fixed plaster. We hired one of Lexington's best architects to fit a modern kitchen into a vintage kitchen space. We fit in a laundry, dishwasher, beverage center and microwave that formerly only had a two burner stove and two cabinets.

This apartment is located on the second floor of the building. It is only 650 square feet, but thanks to our brilliant architect, it feels much larger.

We are confident that as you drive through the stone arches of Hampton Court you will realize what a special corner of Lexington it is, on the site of a former orphanage and alongside the oldest University west of the Alleghenies, Transylvania University.

The hosts also left a notebook full of useful information regarding things to do, places to go, etc. I never heard noise from other tenants (and I had an extensive stay) and communication with the hosts was super quick. Our completely renovated bungalow in the Historic Aylesford district of Chevy Chase is a prime locaton for seeing all that Lexington offers! We are just a few hundred yards from Woodland Park, featuring walking paths, tennis courts, and picnic areas. The Woodland Art Fair will be an experience you won't want to miss each August! The park also hosts Ballet Under the Stars, a unique ballet instruction and performance event!

Our home is walking distance to Kroger, shops and restaurants on Euclid in the heart of Chevy Chase, and Graeter's Ice Cream shop. We are also convenient to downtown amenties!

The houses on our street are uniquely designed! Our neighbors are long- term homeowners, young families with children, professionals, professors, long term rentals, a couple of short term rentals and college rentals! We love our street and all it offers!

And of course, the walk to UK campus and stadium is less than a mile! Perfect for a football weekend!

We have remodeled the bungalow to have a wonderfully situated living area, with new couches and chairs and SmartTV. Vaulted ceilings in the living and kitchen area are well lighted and feature a Big Ass Fan (come to Lex, ask around, you'll find out it's really cool). Kitchen features new stainless appliances, ample cabinet space, kitchen island for seating, stocked with pots and pans and pantry items, all overlooking an awesome fenced back yard for your pup! The house has a new hot water heater and central hvac system, equipped with a Nest thermostat.

Bedrooms are tastefully decorated with comfy mattresses, lots of pillows and remote controlled Big Ass Fans, too! Each bedroom has an oversized closet!

Bathroom is spalike, with a large double vanity, and glass surround walk in shower.

Front room is a dedicated work space with a desk and chair; this room also houses the new stackable, full size washer and dryer.

Speaking of pets...we love them but need to know about them prior to booking! We will allow one dog, around 50 pounds, well behaved and trained and preferably not a bed or couch sleeper...but not a dealbreaker, as we do provide plenty of blankets and coverings for the couch and beds. The backyard is fully fenced with a privacy fence, and plenty of space to throw a tennis ball! We do have a $25 pet fee for approved pets. Be sure to let me know the details when you inquire to book! We appreciate not letting your pets on our furnitire or beds…if they are tempted, please use the blankets provided or bring you own old sheet as needed! No cats or other animals permitted.

The house is a great location for 4 guests coming in for a weekend to explore Lexington, attend a football game, visit Keeneland, or head to the Bourbon Trail.

The house is equipped with a Ring doorbell/front porch camera and a back door camera The system is monitored 24/7 and must not be tampered with. We do not allow events or parties, and only registered guests and immediate family in town are permitted overnight on the property. Thank you in advance for abiding by this important policy! - "A true gem of a place.... We selected this location to be close to the UKy campus. And boy was it ever. We were in town to move our daughter into school for the first time. Upon arrival the place was super clean, smelled great and welcoming. Checkin and out was a breeze. We had plenty of room for our family to spread out, beds were comfy, linens were fresh and fluffy! My kids loved the complementary snacks on the table, and we loved the k-pods for morning coffee. The kitchen was nicely stocked to make a good meal. The decor throughout the house was perfect. Throughout our stay my family kept saying what a great place it was. It made my oldest, who was going to college, feel like she was still at home on her last night before officially moving onto campus. The morning before we left we were able to take a nice walk from the house around campus, which was perfect before getting back on the road to drive home 6 hours. The owners were responsive and super nice to deal with. I will be renting from here again! 10 stars all around!!"

Deciding to stay in this Walking Dead camper is Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezy! Sleeps 4 people with a full-size bed and a table that converts to a bed. Whether you’re a TWD fan or not, I guarantee this will be a unique glamping experience. The camper is decorated with special memorabilia like quotes, tools, walkers, and more! Plenty of photo ops and you can take a selfie with Rick's hat!

BEDS: Full size bed with linens and pillows provided & the table converts to a twin bed (shown in pics). Blankets, pillows, and fitted sheet provided. The bed is extremely comfortable, you'll enjoy your time watching TWD on DVD while relaxing.
KITCHEN: Coffee pot (bring your own grinds/water), one electric burner, large mini refrigerator, plates, cups, silverware, and a unique Walker's foot faucet (do not drink the water). The camper water is for hand/dish washing. Please remember to bring drinking water, charcoal, and coffee grinds).
BATHROOM: The camper does not have a restroom inside. There is a well-maintained portable restroom and a cold-water outdoor shower.
OUTSIDE: Table with chairs, charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal), firepit with a glider to sit on. We have provided a tote with $5 in firewood available for your convenience. It can be purchased through money apps or Airbnb. Additional firewood can be purchased upon arrival or any time before your reservation.

As a longtime traveler, I understand the inspiration one feels when traveling and the overstimulated need to return to a place that is safe and peaceful. The space
I have 3 bedrooms that are available for long term stays only. Each room is equipped with bedding, linens, towels, a laundry basket, Smart TV, fan, noise maker and a locking door. I live in a garage apartment on the property and clean the shared spaces on a weekly basis as well as cover all utilities and general house supplies. Guests are responsible for their own rooms and laundry!

There is a shared bathroom, laundry, living room, fully equipped kitchen (I’m talking dishwasher, blenders, crockpot, tupperware, coffee maker) breakfast room/workspace and a large fenced in outdoor space for guests to find community or privacy in. Please note I have a trusty mutt dog and a flirty outside cat on the property! They are friendly if that's your thing but also respectful of space.

I really enjoy communal living and meeting new people but also have total understanding for those who want to stick more to themselves in shared spaces. There is room for any style here.

The property is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood that is a 12 minute commute to UK, Saint Joseph, and Baptist Health Hospital. It is 15 minutes from downtown, 10 minutes from Keenland, and 50 minutes from the Red River Gorge/Daniel Boone National Forest.

The yard of our property is an organic urban farm that feeds many local community members.
This private room has a private bath with a walk-in tub. The couch pulls out into a full-size bed. You can rest, watch TV, have some coffee or tea, enjoy some work time at the desk, and have fun playing board games.

The space
The space listed is the master suite of our house. It is around 600 square feet with a private bathroom.
In the room, we offer a desk, a chair, a microwave and a mini fridge, a TV, a bed, a couch, a collection of board games, a coffee maker, a hot plate, several dishes, and ample closet space.
The bathroom has a toilet, a sink, a walk-in bathtub with a sitting area and a hand-held shower head that is accessible for people with disabilities, soaps, and fresh towels.
All windows and doors can be securely locked from inside the room.

Guest access
The guest may only access the listed room and its bathroom. If the guests would like to use the house kitchen or laundry room, they must ask for the hosts’ agreement first.
It also means that the hosts are only responsible for maintaining the guest room as a clean space per Airbnb cleaning standards before and during the guest’s stay, but they are not responsible for cleaning the rest the house to the guest’s personal preference.

Other things to note
The yard is not a typical lawn but a lush, productive urban farm that feeds many community members in Berea.
It also means that you might see tall plants, safe farm tools around the farm, and at times, piles of compost or woodchips ready to feed the soil.
We ensure that the listed guest room is always sparkling clean, but the rest of house is always in a lived-in condition because a family of four do live here all the time. Please have realistic expectations of a lived-in space where people cook, eat, play, and rest.

Our full basement apartment with private entrance is modest but comfortable. Located within one mile of Asbury Seminary and University, our space is ideally suited for commuting students, out-of-town guests, or folks visiting the beautiful Bluegrass region. Our home is a 15-minute walk from the campuses and business district. We are a family of six and you will occasionally hear our boys upstairs, but as a Christian family, we strive to treat our guests as we would want to be treated. Reg. 9485

The space
While we do everything possible to keep things quiet for our basement guests, it is important to note that this is an Airbnb listing, which means that we are sharing our home. "Life happens" here, and you will hear it from time to time. Dogs bark on occasion and boys get a bit rowdy from time to time.

Please note that our actual space consists of one full bath, one bedroom with a full sized double bed, and a living area with pull-out sleeper-sofa (full sized double bed) and joining kitchenette.

While we do provide guests with an initial supply of bed and bath linens, coffee, paper products, and complementary bottled water, guests will be responsible for washing or resupplying those items as needed. We have a grocery store, Dollar General store, and laundromat nearby.

Guest access
While the basement is private and guests will have exclusive access to it, our family does use a stairwell to another part of the basement in order to get to our ground-level garage. A heavy curtain separates the stairwell from the guest space. Although you might hear us coming and going, you won't see us--and we won't see you.
Guests will have access to parking in our driveway, just steps from the entrance to the basement at the rear of the house. Entrance and driveway are well-lit. The basement door has a key code and guests can come-and-go at their leisure. Basement has a full living room, bedroom, and bath. Guests also have full use of the well-appointed kitchenette that features microwave, sink and counter, full-sized refrigerator, coffee maker, table-top convection oven, and 2-burner hot plate.

Reservations for single-night stays are available on a limited basis (but cannot be booked more than 30 days in advance-- we try to remain available for guests needing longer stays). Please contact us for availability. We are also willing to be flexible with check-in and check-out times based on our schedule and your needs. Please let us know if you have a special request.
