Pros: 1. The house was large and had plenty of space with it's 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, family room, kitchen with breakfast nook, dining room and a room with ping pong table. There was also a family room in basement. 2. Great location as it pertains to the view from the back of the house with the river, trees, etc....I'm sure it would have been even better during warm weather with the number of birds that would frequent the area. 3. Furniture in house was good and it looked like the carpeting was newer. 4. We loved being able to take long walks everyday in the neighborhood. Cons: 1. Although the location of the house provided us with a great view from the back of the house, it was a lot closer to the busy interstate than we expected. The noise was so loud when we were outside in the front of the house that it was hard to talk to one another unless you were standing near each other. The loud breaking of the large trucks was very frequent. The master bedroom was on the back of the house so at night it was not too bad, but the other 2 bedrooms were on the front of the house and a lot louder. 2. The property is located down a long one lane street and was hard to find. Thankfully we never met other vehicles driving at same time, otherwise someone would have had to back up a long ways so we could pass. 3. There was very limited hot water with low water pressure. After the first person took a shower, the second person may have a few minutes of hot water left, but everyone else was stuck with a cold shower unless they waited an hour or longer for it to warm up. 4. The house smelled like there was a dead mouse somewhere. There were air fresheners everywhere in the house and I am sure that's the reason why. 5. There were food products left in the fridge, pantry and cabinets, and most was opened and expired. The fridge was not clean. There was even a bag of smelly, rotting potatoes in the pantry that had roots. It left little room for the food we brought with and purchased. We worked around most of the left behind food but had to discard bag of smelly potatoes. 6. Driveway was a challenge for parking. Since there's no access to garage, turning around is hard (we had a ford explorer) 7. No TV in basement as described so basement room was not used. This was one feature we liked when we rented. We will likely not rent again."

Our space features 3 bedrooms and can comfortably accommodate up to 6 guests. Each of the three bedrooms is equipped with a Roku TV, perfect for unwinding before bed or relaxing in the morning. The bedrooms are also designed for your comfort. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed with a high-quality memory foam mattress, and a third bedroom with bunk beds that have comfortable hybrid mattresses.

The bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and fresh towels.

Our kitchen is stocked with dishes, including children's plastic dishes, and we have everything you need to prepare meals, including pots, pans, a cutting board, knives, and other cooking utensils. There is also a microwave, toaster, and Keurig for your convenience. We provide basic cooking essentials such as salt, pepper, and cooking spray.

The living room is the perfect place to hang out and unwind, with a comfortable sofa, a love seat, and Roku TV. There is also a desk available for those who need to be able to work during their stay.

Beautiful home with new bathroom, new kitchen, new flooring, new windows, and located on a quiet dead-end street that is just steps from a walking/running path along the river. The Tri-State airport is about 10 minutes away and Marshall University is less than a 15 minute drive. There are queen beds and televisions in both bedrooms and WiFi is available for guests. The WiFi works great for streaming, gaming, and remote work. The house has keyless entry and plenty of towels/toiletries. Washer and dryer are newer units. After my parents make you breakfast, you can think of us like your long lost WV family. We're here to help! This listing is for a twin bedroom in a shared 4 bedroom log cabin home.

The space
The 1970's log cabin has been under restoration since 2018. We've done our best to keep it authentic and modern where we can. However, there are some quirks about our unique cabin you should know prior to your booking:

First, the walls are actual hand hewn logs with some gaps due to age, and the cabin is in a country setting, so it is possible that you'll encounter dusty surfaces in various parts of the home and the occasional harmless bug depending on the time of year (stinkbugs, spiders, or ladybugs are common types). Rarely are there snakes, but we have had 1 black snake (it's a harmless to humans variety) in the last 3 years, so we won't say never.

Despite the occasional bug or dust, you'll have fresh laundered bedding and a freshly cleaned room prior to your arrival.

There is no or little insulation between the wood plank floors, so sound does carry. When guests stay over, my parents observe quiet time from 10pm-8am, and this can be adjusted earlier or later to meet your individual needs. It is generally peaceful with the only sounds being bird song. The cabin is relatively dark and cozy, and there is little traffic on the single lane road.

Even though it is very close to downtown, it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, even more so if you go for a walk along the cemetery road, or one of our hiking trails. The cemetery was established in the 1860s by J. Flowers, who had 13 children! My mother and I are descended from his oldest daughter, Hermiome. A map of points of interest on the property is provided. Hiking and exploring the property is done at your own risk, we are not liable for injuries/death. You might see peacocks or bears or coyote, and the occasional scarlet tanager in the pristine oak forest to the west on our Wandering Woods Upper trail.

The WiFi is great, the tvs all have streaming services available, and the office is a good place to focus and get work accomplished without interuption. The mini-split hvac units do an excellent job of heating/cooling the entire cabin and you can adjust your rooms temperature with a remote control.

The kitchen has all the tools needed to cook something up on the gas stove, make a pot of coffee, or even a cold drink - and if you need anything special, we're happy to help make it a reality as best we can.

There is a gravel parking lot and stairs leading up into the porch, it is not ADA accessible, unfortunately, and there are stairs leading up to the 2nd floor bedrooms.

Guest access
You can access all rooms in the cabin and your designated bedroom. You may not access any other bedrooms on the 2nd floor and the basement. There is a shared full bathroom on the 2nd and 1st floor. Laundry is on the 2nd floor. There is a den on the 1st floor with a Windows PC desktop and laser printer and a Rygar vintage arcade machine for your enjoyment, and a large screen tv in the 1st floor living room. You'll receive a map of the grounds if you'd like to explore. Make yourself at home!

During your stay
Jim & Donna will be on site or on the acreage property during your stay, and will work with you on breakfast times to suit your needs. I am accessible via SMS texting and can be on site within 1hr in emergencies. As this is a 1 bedroom rental in a 4 bedroom log cabin, there may be other guests present in other rooms. It is generally peaceful with the only sounds being bird song. The cabin is relatively dark and cozy, and there is little traffic on the single lane road.

Even though it is very close to downtown, it feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, even more so if you go for a walk along the cemetery road, or one of our hiking trails. The cemetery was established in the 1860s by J. Flowers, who had 13 children! My mother and I are descended from his oldest daughter, Hermiome. A map of points of interest on the property is provided. Hiking and exploring the property is done at your own risk, we are not liable for injuries/death. You might see peacocks or bears or coyote, and the occasional scarlet tanager in the pristine oak forest to the west on our Wandering Woods Upper trail.

The WiFi is great, the tvs all have streaming services available, and the office is a good place to focus and get work accomplished without interruption. The mini-split hvac units do an excellent job of heating/cooling the entire cabin and you can adjust the floors temperature with a remote control.

The kitchen has all the tools needed to cook something up on the gas stove, make a pot of coffee, or even a cold drink - and if you need anything special, we're happy to help make it a reality as best we can.

There is a gravel parking lot and stairs leading up into the porch, it is not ADA accessible, unfortunately, and there are stairs leading up to the 2nd floor bedrooms.

You can access all rooms in the cabin and your designated bedroom. You may not access any other bedrooms on the 2nd floor and the basement. There is a shared full bathroom on the 2nd and 1st floor. Laundry is on the 2nd floor. There is a den on the 1st floor with a Windows PC desktop and laser printer and a Rygar vintage arcade machine for your enjoyment, and a large screen tv in the 1st floor living room. You'll receive a map of the grounds if you'd like to explore. Make yourself at home!

During your stay
Jim & Donna will be on site or on the acreage property during your stay, and will work with you on breakfast times to suit your needs. Here's our room with a view and right next to the bathroom! Our place is on the South Side; close to the park/running path (4 blocks) and downtown (10 blocks). You’ll love our place because of the neighborhood and the coziness. Our place is good for solo adventurers, couples, and furry friends (pets). We provide meals. We have been renovating our kitchen, so it's not perfect, but we think our cooking is close to it! :) Street parking.

The space
Our house is as old as my mom. (She is 95.) It is almost 4000 sq. ft. plus a basement with laundry room that you may use. We have renovated it from top to bottom. There are 3 floors and we live on the 3rd floor with our dog, Marley and our cat, Gizmo. We have our own bathroom on the 3rd floor. We have air conditioning and gas heat but being an old house, we have extra heat and ceiling fans and some window air conditioners on the 2nd floor. We have the original hardwood floors on the first and second floors with tile in the bathrooms. The kitchen has laminate flooring. There is a 1/2 bath on the first floor and a full bath on the 2nd floor at the top of the steps. Both are shared.

Gov. Manor Airbnb guest room is the bedroom at the top of the stairs to the left of the bathroom.

Your room is private but none of the doors lock. (Many have the old glass door knobs). You have access to the family room (you can watch TV on the big screen or use the computer/printer/scanner), the dining room, kitchen and 1/2 bath. Smoking is on the front porch only. There are two tables on the front porch for dining or relaxing and two tables on the back patio as well. We hope you will enjoy our yard and our porch as much as we do. Your entry is a keyless lock on the house so you can come and go as you please.

The 1970's log cabin has been under restoration since 2018. We've done our best to keep it authentic and modern where we can. However, there are some quirks about our unique cabin you should know prior to your booking:

First, the walls are actual hand hewn logs with some gaps due to age, and the cabin is in a country setting, so it is possible that you'll encounter dusty surfaces in various parts of the home and the occasional harmless bug depending on the time of year (stinkbugs, spiders, or ladybugs are common types). Rarely are there snakes, but we have had 1 black snake (it's a harmless to humans variety) in the last 3 years, so we won't say never.

Despite the occasional bug or dust, you'll have fresh laundered bedding and a freshly cleaned room prior to your arrival.

There is no or little insulation between the wood plank floors, so sound does carry. When guests stay over, my parents observe quiet time from 10pm-8am, and this can be adjusted earlier or later to meet your individual needs. Additionally, the yard is completely fenced in for your pet, we have 2 dogs here already! The space is entirely yours, and protected as part of the backyard of our property but with it's own personal area.

You will have a driveway to park in which is set at an incline, so be prepared as you are pulling in!
The road is sometimes busy as you pull in but we have not had any issues.

We have dogs, as does the neighbor. If you are uncomfortable around dogs this may not be the AirBnB for you. Please be careful to close the gate as you are coming and going.
Additionally, our neighbor raises chickens, ducks, quail and a host of other animals but they are just in the neighboring yard so they shouldn't be of any concern.

This remodeled suite, located on the back half of a duplex home, faces our wooded 26 acre lot and short walk to a small pond. It has 2 porches with their own private entrance. This suite has an open area that has a king bedroom, kitchen, dining and living room, 1 full bathroom and a laundry room. Has an additional bedroom that has a full bed, its own tv and locking door. This property is within 15 minutes from 2 major hospitals, Marshall University, downtown Huntington and the Huntington Mall.

The space
This is a completely updated suite situated on the backside of the main house that faces the majority of the wooded 26+ acres and is only a short walk to our small pond. Off street parking for up to three cars and possibly a travel trailer too. This home has WIFI. The main living space is an open suite set up which includes the following:
LIVING ROOM AREA with couch, ottoman, coffee table, electric log fireplace mantle and a large screen tv mounted on the wall.
BEDROOM AREA with a king size bed, dresser, nightstand and a luggage rack.
DINING ROOM AREA has bar height table with 4 bar height padded chairs.
KITCHEN AREA has full-size
refrigerator, range with vent hood, sink, microwave and a Keurig.
BATHROOM (separate room with locking door) has a 4' wide walk in shower with corner bench, toilet and pedestal sink.
ADDITIONAL BEDROOM has a full size bed, dresser, night stand and 32" flat screen tv.
LAUNDRY ROOM has a washer, dryer, hand steamer, iron and ironing board.

Off street parking, room for 2 vehicles, maybe 3 depending on size and possibly a travel trailer (contact host if you are thinking of bringing a travel trailer). One way in and one way out of the neighborhood. House is minutes from Walmart, Speedway gas station, many fast food restaurants.

This is a non-smoking facility. We do not allow pets. We use sonic pest repellent that may harm service animals ears. We are available 24/7, so if there is any questions of where things might be located in or around the suite we ask that you contact us. We prefer that you leave any extra details of your stay in your feedback and review so that we may improve the stay for future guest.
