Nestled in the country on 6 acres in White County, Shady Creek is located between Sparta and Cookeville, TN. Enjoy the creek from the back deck or enjoy the sounds of our 2 waterfalls from the front porch. You can also enjoy all the wildlife that wander the property or start up the fire pit where you can relax with friends. Drive to town and see a movie at the Sparta Drive-In. (Open Fri and Sat nights)

The space: Our home is a two bedroom home and two baths. There is also a pull out sofa in the living room with linens and blankets in the closets. There is a fully stocked kitchen with a crockpot included. Full size washer and dryer. A deck runs along the entire back of the home which overlooks Cherry Creek. There is a charcoal grill. We also have a fire pit (wood is located in the shed) and covered parking area for two but plenty of other places to park as well. If you follow the path down past the old chicken coop to the right of the house, you will be able to enjoy our small waterfalls.

All TV's are streaming where you can log into your accounts to enjoy several different apps or download your own. There are many free apps on the TV's that don't require you to sign in.

One thing to know about our location: There is no cell service at the house unless you turn on wifi calling, connect to our wifi and you will be able to make calls and send texts with no problem. To do this, on your phone go to Settings>Phone Settings or Call Settings> Click on Wifi Calling.

There are cows adjacent to our property with an electric fence. Please do not touch the fence.

Both bathroom sink faucet handles are opposite...hot is on the right and cold is on the left.

Guest access: Our property is outside the city limits. You don't have any neighbors. There is a gate to our property but it will be opened. Self check-in with keypad. We have a ring camera at the front door that will be snoozed upon check in. Any tampering with the Ring camera is not allowed.

If there is anything that you need during your stay, we are right up the road.

You can also explore Cumberland Caverns which is just a thirty minute drive to McMinnville.

Simply turn left out of the driveway and drive two miles until you see the Fire Department on your right. The building is red and the address is 124 Montgomery Rd. (6-10am) Adults are $10 and kids 12 and under are $5. Check out Sparta's very own Calfkiller Brewery, Happy Trails Brewery and Taproom, Northfield Vineyards or The Coffee Collective. Places to eat are Marioochi's Pizzeria on the Square, Rise & Shine, Huddle House, CH Donuts, Yanni's Grille, Jack's Top BBQ, Miss Miranda's Tea Room (lunch only), Frank's, El Tapatio, El Meson San Pedro, Jaxito Burrito Company, Kumo Hibachi & Sushi, Panda Garden, Casa Luna, Chestnut Oaks Farm Store & Kitchen, and Foglight Foodhouse (on the river) to name a few. Please drive slowly and carefully on our entry road, especially at night. It can be dark here and we like to keep it that way so that you can enjoy the night sky from your cabin porch.

There is plenty of room for boat trailer parking if you need it. The cottage is less than 1/2 mile to Four Seasons marina and boat dock, which is located in the subdivision. The cottage is a perfect getaway for families and kids love the bunk room. The home is perfect to rent alone, but we have another cottage next door that family and friends can rent as well. There is a grilling pavilion for fun cookouts and get togethers that’s covered with gas grill. The pavilion is shared with one cottage located next door. There is a three night minimum booking for Fourth of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day and Wake Fest.

Accents include shiplap, metal, custom tiled bathroom, garage door and opener! You’ll find a queen bed with luxurious bedding to give you the perfect night’s rest. The bathroom is a retreat in itself. Relax and soak in our freestanding tub with a full Mosaic tile wall in background. Took us a couple weeks and every tile is a leftover from another project. We upcycled! You’ll be surrounded by eclectic art, fantastic lighting, a record player, a mini fridge, keurig (we provide the k cups). The studio has a garage door that opens to an expansive 240 sq. ft deck…we call that your living room! The property is pristine. You’ll be surrounded by warm lighting in the trees. You’ll find hammocks, swings, roses and wildflowers all spring and summer, fire pits with cooktops for grilling, and the absolute best space in the area for some night sky viewing. You can easily walk into Sparta for dinner or drinks or a day of shopping. Two guests only please. Oh and don’t forget your souvenir photo in front of the angel wings! PS-we don't have WiFi but good cell service so be sure to plan for that!

Trolley Parton. We honor and love the Queen of Appalachia so much we named our trolley after her! Inside you'll find Dolly art, sayings, lyrics, photos and records. One of the most fun elements of Trolley Parton is the accent lighting. This girl was retired for a number of years when we fell in love with her and towed her home. We definitely wanted to capture the originality of the old girl but also wanted to make it as functional as a home. You'll find elements of old and new throughout with every detail thought out with intention.
You will love this unique and romantic escape nestled among wildflowers, in the trees, overlooking a manicured rolling pasture. Trolley Parton was created for rest and renewal. For peace and calm. Inside you'll find a Zen Space, a small library, a living area with a bar area, mini fridge, a keurig, k cups and a variety of teas and honey, a record player with classic records of all genres, a sitting tub, queen size bedroom with luxurious bedding and pillows. Outside both doors there is a sprawling 400 square foot deck with relaxing furniture, a solo stove for evening fires, and a smart projector that can be used inside or out. We provide the robes and bath salts. You just have to show up and relax. This property is within 30 minutes of many of Tennessee's finest hikes and waterfalls.
We are also located approximately 7 miles from the city of Sparta as well as Rock Island State Park (opposite direction). Sparta is a great place to do some downtown shopping and antiquing as well as a hub for some delicious food. Rock Island is a fantastic way to spend a few hours or a few days. Excellent hikes and beautiful waterfalls. We also love giving recommendations for food, drink and fun. We are located within 1.5 hours of Nashville, Knoxville AND Chattanooga if you wanted a nice central location for some day trips.

You’ll find yourself immersed in total relaxation with plenty of books, games, a record player with all the best old school Vinyls. You will be surrounded by plenty of mood lighting to fit the music and enhance the vibe. Take a step outside and relax in the french hammock or take advantage of the lower deck and watch the day disappear.
The Treehouse is privately situated on 5 acres of woodlands and pasture. The property is centrally located to some of the best state parks in Tennessee. They don’t call White Co. “The Land of Falling Water” for nothing. If you love the outdoors, you’re in luck. On a clear night, the stargazing is second to none. You’ll find hammocks and swings sprinkled throughout the woods as well as outdoor accent lighting.
The Treehouse itself is a project that has been in the works for a few years. Inside you’ll find a wall of windows and most windows tell a story. The stained glass in the back walls came from Coppes Commons in Nappannee, IN. The great big yellow window was reclaimed from an old church in Franklin, TN. In the wall of windows, there are a couple of stained glass windows that were pulled from an old home in Chicago. Many of the others came from my Grandparent’s home. There’s some history here and we definitely love having that energy surround us.
You’ll find a bar area with a large wine fridge and a bar sink. We have a keurig and provide plenty of KCups as well as teas, snacks and honey sticks. The studio has a King platform bed with great accent lighting beneath and on the back wall. Chill out after a long day in the 69” clawfoot soaking tub/with sprayer-we provide the goodies to take you through that amazing bath…big, cushy white towels, salts and robes too! Don’t worry, there’s a privacy curtain if you need it. Oh and there's a smart TV as well.
Kick back at night, throw some music on the speaker, light a fire on the lower level deck and reconnect. We also provide a smart projector and screen that you are welcome to use on the lower deck. Speaking of deck space, we have a french hammock one level down on the side deck. It’s perfect for reading a book or taking a nap or just dreaming. If you swing to the left, you’ll find a little perch to enjoy your coffee or do some birding. Follow the steps down to the lower deck and you’ll find a macrame swing, some zero gravity chairs and some comfy deck furniture…and a solo stove.

You’ll have a record player, classic LP’s (70's and 80's for days), a Bose Soundlink Speaker and a medium size wine fridge (big enough for to-go boxes 😉) This inviting space has a garage door that opens to a beautiful deck overlooking the Calf Killer River…here you’ll find your living room space! You’ll be surrounded by warm lighting in and around the trees. You’ll find hammocks, swings, roses and wildflowers in the spring and summer.. A fire pit with cooktop for grilling, and the absolute best space in the area for some night sky viewing. You can easily walk into Sparta for dinner, drinks or a day of shopping! Two guests only please. It’s a space devoted to absolute relaxation. Reminder that we do not have Wi-Fi at this property but cell service is good so plan accordingly.

Historic building with small town charm. With 100 years of history, this 800 sq ft loft space has been reborn and features twin decks on the front for your viewing and relaxation pleasure. The brick was revealed along with oak beams while updates brought it into today. Located just off the square, you will have some peace and quiet while still putting you in the middle of all amenities. A few steps from Central Park and the Steel Coop and just a short walk to quaint shops and stores.

Relax and unwind in this newly created loft space. Just 20 minutes from Dale Hollow Lake, 15 minutes from Standing Stone State Park, and a short drive to many other areas. Have a boat and on a weekend getaway? There is plenty of parking available. Unit is available for both short or long term stays.

This beautiful cabin is tucked away minutes from the boat ramp at Holmes Creek, not far from downtown Smithville, close to restaurants.
The cabin has a very comfortable queen bed in the main bedroom, and a bunk room with four twin bunk beds for the kids, The kitchen is all modern and well appointed. The deck is spacious and there is a great firepit area.

As hosts were quick to respond to a call or message, but try to not bother our guests.

Our secluded apartment is located on the square of our Hallmark town, Livingston TN. Two master suites with en-suite bathrooms. Comfortable king beds with, extra seating and TV in each room. The living space is open concept so you can enjoy the game table, living room with fire place and full kitchen as you relax. The sofa pulls out into a bed for extra sleeping space.

Other things to note
Dale Hollow lake is located just 15 miles north, a straight shot up 111. Dale Hollow is a great place for fishing, boating and swimming. There are multiple state parks located within just a short drive such as Standing Stone State Park, Cummins Falls State Park, Burgess Falls State Park, Cordell Hull State Park.

The "Bunkhouse" cabin has a vintage Western decor with lots of western artifacts. The cabin has one private bedroom with a queen size bed and full size closet. The private bathroom has a full shower and a stack-able washer and dryer and a utility closet.

Just outside the bedroom there is a cozy living room with a sleeper sofa, kitchen table, and a full kitchen with a range and full sized refrigerator / freezer. Cookware, glasses, plates, utensils, cleaning products, etc... are all provided.

The cabin has excellent WIFI and a streaming TV. A gas grill is located just outside the front door.

There is a quiet and relaxing back porch with rocking chairs looking over the pastures and mountain views - a great spot for morning coffee or a glass or two of wine in the evening.

We have wooded hiking trails on the property, a huge outdoor pavilion with stone fireplace and abundant wildlife viewing.

Because we love our 4-legged friends, this cabin, just like our other ones, is PET FRIENDLY! Just add on the $50 one-time pet fee to your booking and your pet is welcome :-)

FireFly Acres is close to many outdoor adventures including five TN State Parks within a 30 minute drive. The historic town of Sparta with it's many eclectic restaurants and shops is just a 10 minute drive mile drive up the road.

Come explore our area, have adventures, then relax on the back porch and watch the horses and deer while taking in beautiful views of the Cumberland Plateau.

This is a small 1 bedroom efficiency apartment close to TTU and downtown area. A small drive will put you at several state parks, lakes and water fall locations. You have Cable and WiFI with a Roku TV in both the living room and bedroom. Kitchen does not have a dining room table but have provided portable TV stands to eat from. Also provided is a microwave and Curig coffee maker for that ideal cup of morning coffee. The space is perfect for a getaway with all the basic amenities.
