Lovely tradicional Stone house located in a peaceful villa with amazing views into the Tramuntana mountains( World Heritage) .The house has a combined living room/ dining room with open chimney in the ground floor. The pool is flanked by climbing roses, bougainvilleas, hibiscus plants and the orange grove. Sitting by the pool is one of the world’s greatest treats, with the gentle flow of the creek; the distant sound of the goats’ bells as they climb the hills; the lingering scent of jasmine and orange blossoms; and the spectacular view. Just beyond the pool and orange grove is the petanc court (bocce ball). We’ve had some great tournaments there!

ACCESS:
Unlike many newer homes in Fornalutx, ours is uniquely accessible. Located on a quiet, walkable street, you can safely stroll to the plaza and drive directly to the house—no navigating long staircases, pedestrian-only lanes, or parking far away. We’re not perched on the outskirts, up in the hills, or along the main road with fast-moving traffic and no sidewalks. Enjoy the rare convenience of unloading luggage, beach gear, or groceries right at the door—without sacrificing the charm of being truly in town.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
There is parking for three cars (two with in the gates and one outside the gate). Please note that the streets in Mallorca are very narrow and we advise renting a compact or small car. While we usually rent smaller SUVs.

VILLAGE
The home is very private, despite being just a 3 minute walk to the village plaza. As you walk along the cobblestone streets, you pass the carefully tended stone homes, all of which contribute to the beauty of the village. The plaza is the center of this ancient Moorish town with a quaint, fully equipped convenient store, a bank, post office, natural and traditional pharmacy, bakery, and several wonderful restaurants and cafes, and a magnificent church. The cafes at the plaza are open from the early morning until 12 at night. There is also great hiking trails just steps from the house.

On the upper terrace you find a private swimming pool, 4×8 meter. Either you take the stairs from the lower terrace or use the direct access from the master bedroom.

On the ground terrace you will find the Garden House among the lemon and fig trees. There is an outdoor kitchen with a grill, a sink and a large kitchen counter for cooking under the open sky! There is also a nice outside dining area with romantic lighting for late dinners.

Alexis grandmother moved from Stockholm, Sweden to Mallorca and the village of Fornalutx in 1955. Back then it had no electricity and there where no roads for cars. Every summer since Alexis was 3 years old (thats 1976) he spent 3 month visiting her. He more or less grow up in the narrow alleys of Fornalutx together with his sister, cousins and Majorcan friends. The beautiful surroundings, all nice people that lives in the village, the nearby beaches in Puerto Soller, the unprecedented mountain walks and the fabulous food at the local restaurants. It's easy to get addicted to it!

The property holds its traditional beauty whilst having all the luxuries you need. The home is beautifully decorated and the outdoor kitchen overlooking the mountains is stunning. There is ample free parking around and a local car park with a very small fee. The town has everything you need and we loved our meal at Molon, where Neil served outstanding food and made our night really special. There are a couple of local bakeries, a super market and other restaurants so plenty of options. I would suggest booking early if you’re going in peak season. The apartment was in a perfect location to explore other local areas including Deia, Soller and Valldemossa all accessible within 30 minutes maximum (only 10 mins to Soller). We hired a car however everywhere is accessible by an hourly bus. Absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be looking to return!"

Set in the picturesque village of Fornalutx, in the Tramuntana Mountains, this enchanting town house can comfortably accommodate 2 people.
On the first floor there is a furnished terrace with a sofa and two parasols for sunbathing with views of the mountains. This terrace is an ideal place to enjoy an outdoor dinner under the stars.

This terrace gives access to a spacious living room with satellite-TV and a toilet. When going down to the first floor, you'll find a bedroom with double bed and A/C as well as a cosy sitting-dining room. The ground floor is composed of a shower bathroom and a fully-equipped kitchen with gas hob, washer, iron and ironing board. If you travel with a baby, we can supply a cot and a high chair. Two fans and two electric radiators complete the equipment.

The picturesque town of Fornalutx is in the midst of the Tramuntana Mountains, declared as a World Human Heritage by Unesco. Lots of trails and cycling routes start here. The trail Tossals Verds leads you through Mediterranean woods, antic buildings and small paths. The fresh water reservoir Cúber, which is at the foot of the Puig Major, is also a very nice and popular trail. The beaches of the Tramuntana are mostly characterized by rocks and cool, clear waters, for example Cala Deià, Puerto de Valldemossa and Llucalcari. If you prefer sand beaches, you can visit Puerto de Sóller and Cala Tuent. In Sóller and Puerto de Sóller you'll find supermarkets, restaurants and shops. In Fornalutx, there's a small grocery shop. Near Sóller is the Muleta Cave where the most ancient human remains of Mallorca have been found.

- "This is truly a beautiful place. The property owner is a nice and caring man (didn't meet his wife). He was friendly to us, but just as important, his finca is well maintained in every aspect. Every time I walked from the entrance gate to the main house I discovered a little new detail. The walk alone is a little fairy tail! Everything is clean, the view is beautiful. Almost all throughout the day you can enjoy the sun. Even while taking a shower when opening the little window. The house is basically next to a hiking trail which descends to the picturesque center of Fornalutx. It's just a beautiful 10 min walk and we enjoy getting our morning coffee at the little cozy square We took our little boy (1.5 year old) with us and requested a baby bed. It was nicely arranged but since there is only one bedroom we will go for a "two bedroom" finca the next time. For now it wasn't really a problem since we place the bed in the living room and spend all evenings outside. Firewood is just waiting to get burned in the lovely fireplace next to the pool. So relaxing! With our rental vehicle we took daytrips to Palma Mallora, Valdamossa, Soller (and Port Soller) and Port Adriano (streetfood festival). When our little boy was asleep in the afternoon we just enjoyed the sun while reading a book at the pool. We definitely would recommend this place!""

Breathtaking house for 4 people, with spectacular views to the mountains, located over an olive grove at the Puig Major road, on the outskirts of Fornalutx.
The exteriors of this house will lead you to a different world, thanks to its fields full of nature, tress, and its amazing and unique landscape where you will enjoy total privacy. You can sit at the patio to have breakfast or to read a book in peace, or to enjoy a meal prepared on the gas barbecue. The beauty of the building is extraordinary since it features the typical Mallorcan stone everywhere, from the terraces and stairs to the walls of the house.

The most peculiar and, at the same time, beneficial thing is that the house is divided into two buildings. The kitchen is in one of the houses, and it is equipped with a gas stove, microwave and other kitchen utensils and appliances, including a washing machine. The kitchen is open to the dining and living room, where you can watch satellite TV from the sofa, maybe accompanied by the warmth of the wood stove when it is cold. - "The house was beautiful, in an amazing location fairly isolated in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range above Fornalutx. The listing does not mention the restaurant/bar that is literally across the road with an amazing view of Port de Soller and the sparkling Mediterranean which is a huge bonus!!! Should be in the listing as an amenity.A couple things that could be addressed in the kitchen. The coffee maker is takes 1/2 hour to brew a pot and the could use some basics like larger sized bowls and baking trays/pyrex. Lastly the queen bed is uncomfortable with a big void in the middle...I read about this in another review and it remains to be a problem. Otherwise, great house in a beautiful location."

This beautiful mountain cottage boasts a great exterior area with an amazing landscape around. There's a fenced area where you can sunbathe on the 4 sun loungers containing a fantastic terrace which is completely furnished for a great meal with your family or friends. You will also find a BBQ that you can use from 16 October till 30 April (the rest of the year, it's forbidden to light a fire in order to protect the forest surroundings). Privacy is total and there are not neighbours nearby, so you won't be disturbed.

The cosy living room, with a wood stove, is the perfect place to relax after a day full of activities. Here, you can watch a film in the TV-Sat or enjoy a good reading. The kitchen, which is open to the previous space, offers a gas stovetop, and it is perfect to cook and have lunch right there, since it also counts with a wooden table and chairs, what a luxury! The washing machine, the iron and the ironing board also are in the kitchen. The house comprises two bedrooms with a double bed, a closet and a fan. We can provide with a cot and a high chair if you are travelling with your children. There is a bathroom which is great to have a relaxing shower after a day of adventures in the island. The property is right in the middle of the mountains of the Tramuntana range, then, the perfect place for those who love nature and excursions. The small towns of Fornalutx (6.5 km away) and Biniaraix (5 km away) are not far away although you must keep in mind that the road that leads to this villages is an unpaved mountain road with curves and that it takes about 20 - 25 minutes to reach to any of them by car. This is the reason why we highly recommend a small car. The wonderful towns of Sóller, Valldemossa or Banyalbufar are easily reachable after that road. And the nearest sandy beach is in Puerto de Sóller, about 13 km away.

We sat on the terrace and ate in the evening then sat by the wood burner when it got chilly. Great for walking up into the mountains (there is a footpath going by the garden) or down into the valley. As the other reviews said the road up to the house was really steep, narrow and winding, so hire a smaller car. The owner kindly met us and led us there the first time though and we thought the location well worth it."

We rented a medium sized car (4 people + luggage) and we really struggled getting up the mountain. The house description mentions a steep and curvy road, but this is a more than that. Several times we had to do a 3-5 point turn to get around the curves, and with steep slopes on the edge of the road, it was not for delicate nerves - especially not at night in the dark. The house is located very high on the mountain, so it takes a while to get up and down. If you are looking for a place with absolute peace and natural beauty (and you are a skilled driver with a small car), this is the place for you. If you want to go on daytrips and explore the island, I would recommend a more accessible place."

There are lots of small gravel bays where you can enjoy a day on the beach in the middle of the mountains. If you prefer sandy beaches, you can go to Puerto de Sóller. A 40 minutes' drive takes you to the capital Palma de Mallorca, but you can also go there from Sóller with the old train and enjoy the wonderful landscape.

The accomodation has two levels comfortably integrated. On the ground level you will find a spacious hall where you will be able to leave your belongings when you arrive home.
Just a few steps up you will find the gorgeous living-room, full of sunlight and breeze, where you can enjoy a typical Spanish nap after lunch or where you can take advantage of the table and chairs to work with your laptop if you need to. Next to the living-room you have the cossy and fully-equiped kitchen. In the kitchen you can perfectly prepare your breakfast (lunch or dinner) or your snacks for the beach. The trail Tossals Verds leads you through Mediterranean woods, antic buildings and small paths. The fresh water reservoir Cúber, which is at the foot of the Puig Major, is also a very nice and popular trail. The beaches of the Tramuntana are mostly characterized by rocks and cool, clear waters, for example Cala Deià, Puerto de Valldemossa and Llucalcari. If you prefer sand beaches, you can visit Puerto de Sóller and Cala Tuent. In Sóller and Puerto de Sóller you'll find supermarkets, restaurants and shops. In Fornalutx, there's a small grocery shop. Near Sóller is the Muleta Cave where the most ancient human remains of Mallorca have been found.

The Port Soller, and its beaches are a 10 minute drive from the village. There is a local bus service between Fornalutx, Soller and Port Soller. Buses run every half hour. There is a paddle court in the village and a full sized Olympic swimming pool and tennis courts can be found 3km towards the port.

There mountains surrounding the village are full of marked Hiking Trails and the mountain roads are used by many professional cycling teams for their early season training.

Living room has air conditioning. 36' TV, Sofa, 2 armchairs. TV has all the latest movies and TV shows. The service also has TV feeds from most European countries.

Other things to note
Parking in the village in the summer can be difficult.
Parking is free in all parking lots P1, P2 and P3 (between the blue lines) after 6pm and before 10am. You need to pay at other times. Green lines mean resident parking only and White is free all the time.
We can arrange reserved parking in parking lot P1 with the Town Hall at an addition cost of 60 euros a week. Please let us know if you wish us to arrange this before your arrival. Payment is required upon arrival as we need to arrange the parking with the Town Hall.

Other things to note
Rooms 4 and 5 are located on the upper level of the house, which means there are two short flights of stairs, each with about 12 small steps. While the climb is light and easy, if you have any mobility concerns or prefer to avoid stairs, we recommend rooms 1, 2, or 3, which only require one flight of stairs.

However, the upper rooms have their charm—being higher up, they offer spectacular views of the mountains and surrounding nature, providing an even more special experience. 🌄

Sa Cabana Vella is a beautiful farmhouse of rustic Majorcan style for 7 people in the mountain of Fornalutx, a popular village of Mallorca, which has received several awards as one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. Only 5 km from the center of Fornalutx, 5 km from Sóller and 9 km from the Puerto de Sóller and its beautiful beach.

The space
The house, approximately 330 m2 consists of a large living room, indoor kitchen, glazed outdoor kitchen, 3 bedrooms: 2 doubles and 1 triple. It also consists of 2 and 1 guest baths. Its exterior consists of 1500 m2, and of them, 500 m2 garden.

The location is perfect, at the foot of the Puig Major, the highest mountain in the Balearic Islands. Ideal for those who seek peace, harmony and be in touch with nature.
You can enjoy the garden, always in perfect condition, its variety of centuries-old olive trees, plants, terraces and spaces to enjoy and relax.

The private pool is approximately 4.50 x 8,000 m and reaches a depth of approximately 1.80 m. It has garden furniture, terraces, umbrellas and towels.

From the pool, terraces, and house, you can see stunning views of the Sóller Valley and Fornalutx.

The estate is ideal for couples, families and/or hikers who want to spend a quiet vacation in the middle of the beautiful mountain landscape of the Serra de Tramontana (World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO).

Privacy: The property has a lot of privacy but it should be noted that there are maintenance staff certain days of the week, that they clean the pool and are in charge of general maintenance.

An important fact: Because the access road to the estate is very narrow and steep, it is recommended to rent a small car. From the village of Sóller to the house there is about 25 minutes driving on a mountain path.

It is a must to rent a car (small) as there are no buses or taxis accessing the property.

The house is usually cool on summer nights as it is quite high up the mountain.

It is forbidden to come with electric cars since they cannot be charged in the property. The power is solar with the help of an electric generator but it is not strong enough to charge an electric car.
